Irritating hourly alert - Huawei Watch 2

I get a alert on the hour every hour. I can not find how to turn them off. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't seen such option in the watch settings, but i know some watchfaces allow to ring hourly. Did you look at the watchface config (on watch or on the dedicated app on the phone)?

I thank you sir. I honestly never thought to check the watch face config. You are a Saint to me.

Try Setting Profiles pro. there is a free version also available. its owsam.
If you are able to afford some good application, then try locale.
It is able to do more than just meeting profiles.
For meetings, you can either set the time slot, or use the geolocation of your phone to do so. Personally, I use it for school so I only know how to use Time as the condition. Then it can use these conditions to trigger settings like lowering your ring volume.
By the way, locale can do much more. You can go google about it.

Do any of the free ones change profile by a time condition? or are they all manual?

Locale can be based on almost everything... it rocks, and it only about $10... definitely worth the $$

Samsung Weather Widget an hour to a fast

Anyone know why the time on my Samsung weather widget is an hour too fast? I've tried playing around with the date and time in both the widget and in the system settings and haven't had any luck. Any ideas?

Its an hour ahead. My system clock says 1:26 AM and that is indeed the correct time but the widget displays 2:26. It even knows that it updated itself at the right time its just displaying it wrong.

It was an ID10T error for me. I had the wrong "Central TIme Zone" selected. I mistakenly selected "Central America" and not "Central Time".
Once I corrected it, the widget was correct after refresh, which by the way, I changed to update hourly rather than manual.
Not sure if that is your issue.
Check your time zone, though if you choose the option to display weather in the lock screen it doesn't seem to update correctly. Still playing around with it though. Also, does anyone know how to change the news feed on the lock screen to something other than yahoo news?
Im having the same issue, i did set the correct time zone but its still wrong
The only thing I could guess is your location is off. It looks like it updated 2 minutes before your screenshot. Do you happen to live along a time zone line?
Try manually setting your location. Maybe by zip code if you can? Not sure if you can use zip codes.

Any solution to this yet? My sisters Note 10.1 is also having this issue. She also claims the remote app's "what is playing" is also off by an hour ( I could not confirm or disprove this )

This happens to me once in a while on various Android devices. A simple restart usually clears it up.
I corrected this by changing the date on the system to the correct date (was ahead one day for some strange reason). This threw my clock off 1 hour ahead just like described in this thread.
Check system time, make sure time zones are correct - its not an "android" thing.
But the weather is not up to date, its usually off by about 30-60 mins, you can change the refresh rate if you go to settings, security, lock screen options, then click on weather - this allows you to change the unit and auto refresh rate (1 hr is the quickest it will allow though). No biggie.

WatchIt vs Augmented Smartwatch Pro

Both these two applications can push notifications from all apps on the phone. WatchIt is free, ASP is not, but it is more powerful, since it has Tasker integration, and can do more.
Which one are use using, and what are the pros/cons over the other?
Are there other alternatives?
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I don't want to get eye cancer so I'm using WatchIt. (Augmented SmartWatch really looks awful to me.) For Tasker, there's the Tasker Smart Extension and WatchIt! will also display notifications from Tasker.
If you want to do more complex stuff, you can always use Remote Widget and Zoom for Tasker do use interactive widgets from the SW2.
Yes, the look and feel of Augmented Smartwatch is ugly...
Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
For some reason Augmented Smartwatch causes my S4 to lock up. I've worked some with the developer, and I even reset my phone. My s$ locks up for about 20 seconds when a notification comes in, and my watch goes blank. Eventually the notification pops up on the watch. From what little I have been able to use it, it actually is too much IMHO. Watchit! is simple and generally what I need.
I'm very want to use ASP because of ASP's powerful function and full screen show notification when running app on watch.
But it can't show Full-width characters well. (like "char")
While showing long string of Full-width, it will only show one line and beyond the watch, but not word wrap.
May ASP author can fix this error, certainly i will purchase this app and using as well.
Watchit seems to be ok, but I did have a problem with that. My Note 10.1 (touchwiz?) / A4.1.2 started talking back to me when the easy accessibility was on for Watchit (and talkback was off). I think I managed to fix it by the way i found it from another discussion: need to clear data from google text to speech app. (When the easy access is still on for Watchit - otherwise it will keep talking back). Seems to work great!

Watchit
I bought the ASP application, but I do not use .... Why?:
1.- Text is infamous
2.- I have not gotten to see pictures of Whatsapp
3.- Notices of whatsapp can not be selected for viewing (Watchit can)
4.- Weather is bad
5.- Watchit.... Free
6.- ASP....4,99 €
Undoubtedly watchit
Galaxy note 1, With J. B. 4.1.2 and SmartWatch 1
Have to agree with the majority here, i tried ASP but its sooo ugly and takes a bit of configuration, watchit works well, quickly and does what you want.
Both apps arnt perfect but free vs £3 is a no brainer
tbh alot of things are workarounds for what sony could develop and implement but havnt
If the galaxy gear wasnt so damn expensive, i'd have one instead
Seems like I need to clear data from Google text-to-speech everytime I restart the phone - otherwise my phone is talking back to me when scrolling screens. Well, a minor bug... I rarely shutdown/restart the phone anyway. Some other thing I notice that WatchIt (or sw2? not sure) interacts with developer sections choices somehow, mixing the settings so that phone doesnt know if they are turned on or off and you need to restart your phone. (Note 10.1 / A4.1.2)
When compairing SW2 and Gear, Im so lucky that Samsung didn't update my N8000 before Xmas (Gear needs A4.3 to run), I would have bought Gear aswell. BUT... SW2 looks much better than Gear, and it feels great on your wrist (a metal band) and I couldnt even wear Gear at work (water/chemicals/not wearable with a suit or better clothes either). I don't need functions like "talk to the hand!" or similar.. Just plain, classy-looks watch to notify me: phones, sms, etc... because I keep my phone (N8000) all the time in a bag, and i rarely even hear when it rings or get messages. And if I heard it rings, i didnt know who's calling.
SW2 and Gear were almost the same price: 199 euros (metal band) / 249 euros, so it wasn't the "money issue". The quality and style of SW2 is impressive and I feel lucky that I didnt bought Gear. Thank you Samsung you didn't update my device! :victory:
Wristin is another alternative.

Two things with Watchit! and every other sw2 notification app I've tried. 1st, you can't mark the notification as viewed on the phone, when checked on the watch. And secondly, text grouping. Would be nice to have each contacts in their own thread. If anyone knows of solutions to these or another app which has these features it would be much appreciated
Cheers

Is there any SW2 notification app that does this? I'm thinking about replacing my Pebble with the Sony but if this functon is missing, I probably wouldn't.
On the Pebble, there's an app called Notification Center that allows you dismiss the phone notification with one button and keep the phone notification with a press of the other button.

In the description for that app, it only mentions that your watch notifications will be marked as read when you turn on your phone display. Doesn't work the other way around I don't think.

I am using "WatchNotifier" as well. Great App.
If you only need whatsapp notification on your smartwatch then you can try WhatsApp Smart Notification. It also displays the contact picture and UI is good.
I am using Notification Pro for Smartwatch and I love it. The support is fantastic as the developer updates it very often.
I haven't been able to find this Notification pro on the Play Store. Can you give us any pointers?

What extensions and apps do you find most useful for the SSW2?

I'm hardly a noob at Android, but am a noob to the Sony Smartwatch 2. I've downloaded some extensions that are absolutely useless, then I've found a few that have been pretty good. My main notification that I need to be consistent on the watch is my hangouts notifications. That's not the only extension or app I'm looking for. What have you guys found to be the most consistent and useful app and extensions? I have an international HTC One Max for the record.

Remote widget. You can use and control any widget on your watches like on homescreen. Total musthave for me. I have in there yatse xbmc control, local rain map, another weather widget, Google music native widget, music volume widget, settings control via power toggle.
I can imagine that everyone can find it useful.

Smartreader - open any txt file - usable for longer texts, various settings

Most useful extension I've got. I tether my tablet a fair bit at work and I can enable mobile data and tethering without even taking my phone out. Very handy.
Auto Lock is quite handy for if you lose your phone or if it gets stolen. Automatically locks your phone with a pin as soon as it becomes disconnected from the watch.

SqueezeWatch.
I have a Squeezebox Classic streaming music wirelessly to my stereo, using Logitech Media Server on my Windows PC.
SqueezeWatch connects to the server on the PC via Bluetooth/Wifi and lets me control the server (Start, Stop, Volume, Track) from my Smartwatch 2.
Some of my apps that haven't been mentioned:
- Advanced Sample Control: a very nice Tasker app, I use it particularly for time logging, can check in and check out of Time Recorder with Tasker tasks. Also I use it for things like turning on the phone torch.
- Find Phone
- GPS Map2: for directions when walking somewhere
- K-9 Mail: I use this on the watch rather with gmail as it is significantly more powerful than the Sony Gmail app.
- Music Control: Works much better than the Sony one
- Smart Calculator: perfect AND free
- Smart Camera: a great remote shutter app for group photos, as long as you set it to delay for a few seconds while you take your hand off your watch!
- Smart Note: perfect for keeping notes on my wrist, like the times of train connections.
- Smartwatch Shopping List: works nicely with the shopping list on my phone. Much easier than using the phone while shopping.
I just wanna chime in and say the runtastic app is really good. Only thing it's missing is low power mode (this means the app will stay open after the screen dims, correct?) You can start the phone app up from your watch and start, stop your tracking-- all with out even looking at your phone. Might sound obvious, but the runtastic app on pebble can't really do this. Pebble can't start the runtastic app if it's not already open. Also, it's not a runtastic app; it's using pebble's sport tracker API thing, which means it's supposed to add a stock "sport" app to the top of your pebble list when you open runtastic on your phone, but It didn't even ever work properly for me. Buggy as hell, most of the time the sport app would just never even appear, but when it would it would freeze, and if I ever left the app to say, change my music volume, I would have no way to return to the sport tracker cause the app's menu listing would disappear.
I keep seeing people who review SW2 complain that sony's app selection is lame, compared to Pebble, but I completely disagree. Pebble doesn't really have much more apps than sony; Pebble has a crap load of watch faces.
---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:26 AM ----------
The only app I'm really -- REALLY missing from pebble is Tiny Birds.
