Dead sensors! - Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone!)
Mi Note 3 qualcomm 3/128 Blue
The bootloader is unlocked officially!
Accidentally erased the persist section. at the end of November was the case. Stitched on the latest version of android. Then he destroyed the section persist. returned back to MIUI. But it did not help. The phone works fine! Only all sensors are dead!
For a whole month (once a whole week, with a break for sleep and drugs (joke)) I used different ways to restore this section. Nothing helped. Chinese versions. Various. Through everything I tried: bootloader, fastboot, edl, official methods - nothing helped.
Good! I made an engineering cable - it's the same story. permanent errors. persist is not erased - no access!
OK! I went further. removed the cover. two points. everything is in error. I can not flash my phone through two points. Bootloader unlocked. But when Miflash requires an MI account verification, my device reconnects and an error occurs in MiFlash.
Dear XDA, please help. I need your help!:crying:

Hi, if you have a TWRP installed flash the persist.img through it.

Thanks, but I've done this many times already. Different TWRP, different ways. I even tried to flash it through the terminal - no access!
I guess this is somehow related to the ninth android

So, now you are running Android Pie? You can try to flash for example xiaomi.eu rom and then flash persist.img through TWRP. After that you can flash PIE again.
Check out this thread https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mi-8-se-sensor.45731/post-437421 If this doesn't work follow this tutorial very carefully https://youtu.be/Qf0XhhnpQEo
Good luck, zaqm

Thank!
I did't like the android pie. And I went back to MIUI developer
I have already carried out actions on this instruction and on this video - also without result!

I'm sorry that this didn't work for you. I'm out of ideas - the problem may be hardware related.

I have the same problem. Any news to how to solve the problem?

Is because with the update you loose bootloader commands ( fastboot)
So, you need to root, after root install Rashr from Google play, with Rashr you can flash twrp, with twrp you can flash aboot.img from 5.0.2 version with a flash zip then you recover bootloader commands like this.

What he's saying is that without fastboot the only way you can flash a ROM is through TWRP. You need to root and then install TWRP, and then install the ROM. Also, if you're doing any kind of reflashing; to do so without a custom recovery is risky at best.

You get this because you don't have fastboot any more!!
Do you get this?
You must find another way to root, maybe kingroot!

Look at this thread to get TWRP and root. Works perfectly; I went through this procedure several times on 6045I. Just read carefully to understand the steps; there are couple of other threads that are linked from this one.

Yes, the TWRP steps are described for Idol 4, but the process works perfectly fine for 6045. That thread is a compilation of steps from few other threads that are linked from there; some may not be specifically for our model, but they work. Just read carefully and make sure you understand. It's quite normal on XDA, when you find some info from another device's forum, and adapt it to your device. Like I said, I did this myself on 6045I at least 3-4 times, while fooling around with the phone after I got it.

And if with the sahara I try to put a rom with android 5?

You can't use Sahara & Firehose for flashing the ROM. It will only let you to flash the recovery (TWRP).
You have to understand that you need to go through several steps here...
1. Your goal is to downgrade to 5.x. You can't flash a 5.x official stock ROM, because the only way to flash stock is to use Mobile Upgrade Q, and you already got an update to 6.0 for your phone. Your only choice is to find a 5.x ROM that can be flashed from TWRP.
2. So, you need to install TWRP. I recommended using Sahara & Firehose, because this method works for me every time with no problems. I pointed you to the thread with ALL the information you need. If it doesn't work for you, I don't know why. Maybe you don't have the proper drivers installed? You need the drivers before you try doing anything with your phone from your PC. Maybe you have a bad USB cable or port? Maybe something else? I have no idea... I simply told you what works for me 100%.
3. There may be another way, if you somehow root you phone first, then flash TWRP using Rashr, for example. But I don't know how to root it. I only rooted it by flashing SuperSU, after I already had TWRP installed, so I can't help you with this...
Most importantly, you need to understand what you are doing, why you need to do specific steps, and the purpose of all the tools you use...

"System update installation failed" while trying to install Q dp3, what did I miss?

"System update installation failed" while trying to install Q dp3, what did I miss?
I am currently on oxygenOS 9.0.8, both slots completely stock. I have unlocked the bootloader and enabled USB debugging.
I am trying to install Q dp3, but everytime I select Q dp3 zip file and press ok, update manager immediately says "System update installation failed" with no specific error code or any leads.
I have tried:
-Redownloading the Q dp3 file from here (https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_003_all_1907120020_wipe_ae2a3b38959345b1.zip)
-Rebooting and trying again
-Relock and unlock the bootloader
-factory reset within the settings
The strange thing is, I can normally install oxygenos 9.0.8 full update file. So I suspected problem of the dp3 file. But redownloading didn't solve the problem.
Is there something I have missed out? Some settings I have to do? Specific conditions?
Searching haven't helped me much(I searched everywhere, but I think nobody has my problem).
If someone can help me, I will be grateful. Thanks!
Since your bootloader is unlocked anyway, you can flash Android Q DP3 zip using TWRP. Flash it on both slots. Haven't tried blu_spark, but mauronofrio's TWRP works with Q. Don't forget to format data.

Can I ask you one more question? What is the best and convenient way to go back to stock? I used nexus 4 and mi a1 before, and both devices just had to use
fastboot roms to go back to complete stock. Is it same with OP6? Or do I have to use MSM tool or other things?

I think it's down to your preference. I prefer the fastboot ROMs simply because I haven't tried MSM download tool yet. But yeah, both fastboot ROMs and MSM download tool are available for OP6.

I successfully flashed Q dp3 thanks to you.
However, I can't boot TWRP with fastboot boot twrp.img method. Before updating to Q, it worked. Now, cmd line shows FAILED (remote: 'unknown command').
I have tested with newer versions of Fastboot, but the results were the same. Anybody knows how to solve this problem?

Yep, it's a known issue with DP3 (or possibly earlier builds). Anyway, every time you flash a ROM, may it be stock or custom, you should always flash TWRP next. For now, you could try downgrading to Pie using fastboot ROMs.

No problem. Read more about A/B partitions. It's actually just as easy to mod our phone once you know how A/B partitions work.

All sensors stopped working

Hi,
Seems like I flashed the wrong ROM variant for my OnPlus 7 pro, I flashed the international version, but maybe I should have flashed the EU stock ROM, although I bought the phone from the UAE.
Phone model: GM1913
The phone is working smoothly, but all the sensors are not working.
I'd there a way to fix this without flashing a new ROM and loosing all my data.
Can I flash vendor.img on fastboot, will this fix it?
Phone model: GM1913
Android version: 9
EU stock ROM code: GM21BA
Global stock ROM code: GM21AA
Well, I took the risk and flashed the vendor.img to the vendor partition from the EU ROM, guess what... It didn't work, it bricked the phone!
So I flashed a new EU stock ROM to the phone, and the sensors still didn't work!!
I lost all my data and customization for nothing.
So it seems this has nothing to do with the ROM variant, my speculation was wrong.
Searching online seems that the problem is caused by Android 10, which I installed before and then downgraded to Android 9, because I couldn't get root.
It looks like it corrupted the "persist" partition. according to this article, many Pixel owners faced the same issue, which is complicated to fix.
I'd appreciate if anyone can help me fix this issue. First thing I need is an image from the persist partition.

Use the MSM tool for your device to return it to stock and repair the partitions. Then update using the correct rom for your device.
Thanks, but I want to try flashing the persist partition first, if that doesn't fix it then I have no choice but to go that route.

Hi,
Did you manage to get the sensors back working without reflashing the whole phone and losing everything?
I'm in exactly the same situation and so far I tried flashing via flashboot 3 different persist images in the hopes that at least at some point in time something would work.
I was sadly wrong.
Am also wondering if what flashboot utility does is recreating the partition from 0 (mkfs and all the works) or only tries to overwrite some info.

General Oneplus 9 and / 9 Pro TWRP

Just a reminder for people who only read the oneplus 9 forum and not oneplus 9 pro one:
[RECOVERY] [11] [OFFICIAL] TeamWin Recovery Project
Introduction: Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added...
forum.xda-developers.com
I tested it and flashed it on my oneplus 9 LE2110 and it works.
Again, as i always have to write to people.
Be careful, only do something you can undo.
Before you "Flash Current TWRP" do a full BACKUP!
Does said recovery perform full back-ups of partitions and restore features ?
Edit
I booted it up . Decrypts perfectly. Backed up modem just to see for myself. Rebooted back onto system . Booted twrp again and it found saved partition to restore. This makes life so much easier. Time to go get a full system backup !! Cool
Exactly. I'm super happy. Now the OnePlus 9 Is finally a good phone. Without TWRP it's just risky.
Im sure some bugs are still there but it looks very promising.

Hi there, I have a question:
When you have a new device, would the following work:
1. Unlock bootloader
In fastboot mode:
2.
Code:
fastboot boot c:\twrp.img
In TWRP
3. Install TWRP
4. Install Magisk
5. Reboot - then you have Root, TWRP?
6. Upgrades can than be done in TWRP by installing the files and than intalling again TWRP and afterwards Magisk?
Best
Axel
It appears you are asking. If I am incorrect, my apologies. With the 6t (also a a/b OP device)
The process I always used was
1) reboot to bootloader
2) boot twrp.img
3) install twro zip
4) reboot recovery
5) upon TWRP reboot, install magisk
6) profit.
Anytime I tried to go ahead and install Magisk in the same round as installing TWRP, it would install to the opposite slot making me have to do the whole process over again. Ymmv
XDA is Great, and, yet, at the same time: XDA is very challenging.
With so many able to contribute, and the lack of external editing capacity ( unlike SO ),
it's difficult to distill the information.
Okay, Great! There's a TWRP for the OnePlus 9 !
I used TWRP 3.5 and Magisk to root a Lenovo Tab M10, without any need for external input.
The Answer I'm looking for here is: Am I able to install / root / whatever my T-Mo OP 9 with TWRP ?
Does anyone have any definitive solutions ?
Thank You, in Advance, for any assistance !

Sadly, No, boot-loader is locked. Never encountered this on both previous OP 6t's.
Hence my confusion. When I walked out of the t-Mo store with my 6t, I had No issues.
I used the wonderful mauronofios tool, to do it All with no troubles.
crash my 6t, forced to take a "9 5g" from t-Mo, and now I am regretting it.
Wondering what has changed, and by whom..? t-Mo change policies, or OnePlus ?
Actually, I've been a t-Mo customer for 16 Years ! First time I've ever had to "Ask Permission" to have my phone, or my SIM unlocked...

Need help...
I typed Fastboot boot twrp.img instead of fastboot flash boot twrp.img
And that was to boot_a
So then i tried fastboot flash boot_b twrp.img
It wont load the recovery now. Phone wont boot up unless i
fastboot boot patched11.2.7.7DA.img
I even try to install Magisk directly and it fails.
Can I get some help. Dont even wanna restart my phone.
Thank you
All Good Now..... I Figured It Out!
How to fix this
id avoid TWRP if on 11.2.8.8 already. it can boot from fastboot and even install itself as your recovery but it will not mount data. i tried the refresh sizes trick in backup and then the default_password for password to decrypt and nothing. pretty sure twrp mishaps are what bricked my phone last too . thankfully it still boots, just the recovry section is effected
ill try and flash the OTA zip tomorrow. sick of messing with it for now lol
Are we still avoiding twrp

Question Semi bricked Poco X4 Pro 5g Need help!

Hi all,
So i've previously unlocked my Poco X4 Pro 5g and rooted it. All was fine until yesterday where i'm now stuck in the booting screen.
I have installed every OTA update and i'm running global Xiaomi ROM. I noticed the phone was getting buggy and since it hadn't been restarted in some time, I did so in the hopes the bugs would go.
Upon restarting which took a VERY long time, everything was un-rooted(?) following the reboot. I think this is happening because i had to hide Magisk previously for certain apps.
Anyway i tried to re-root by using Magisk by using fastboot to flash my boot.img that Magisk patches from my original install from previous updates back which is where i think the problem lies. Since numerous updates later, the boot.img may have changed hence now why i'm stuck in the boot screen.
What can i do since i can't find a download link the the very latest ROM. Using the original boot.img also causes boot screen freeze so now i'm out of ideas
Any ideas?

Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply, could you tell me what has gone wrong with the phone and what i need to do?
I've followed the link, the flash tool wont install the drivers and crashes (i have created a log folder which seems to be a common issue but doesn't fix). I've attempted to flash but i receive the error:Antirollback check error.
I'm not sure what, if anything has happened but now im stuck in fastboot mode!
Looking at the images in the link, it looks like following this guide will wipe my phone?
I'd like to attempt to recover it first if possible, could you tell me what your link is intending me to do?

The root seems to be the source of the problem.
ARB problem: install a more recent rom or delete the lines concerning ARB from the rom script or use the script directly from the rom folder without going through Miflash or trying an older version of Miflash.
Indeed the flash will delete your data, if you have access to Twrp try to save, without guarantee that the backup or restore will work.
Miflash will allow you to recover your phone.

Hey, i had to use miflash tool today, and also got the antirollback error on my first attempt. Turned out, in my case it was caused by spaces in the path to the rom folder.
Might not be the case for you, but worth checking, eh?
Also, make sure to double-tripple check the "clean"/"clean and lock" flag in the miflash tool before flashing it. Wouldn't want to accidentally lock it again

I was able to miflash working by commenting out the anti rollback checks in the batch scripts. I had other issues due to long folder names. I was able to reflash and recover, thanks again to NOSS8
I really regret not backing stuff up before restarting although i should've before loading a boot.img
I'm attempting to patch the latest boot.img using Magisk, hopefully all will go well this time. At least I've got nothing to loose now!
Hello bro I understood your problem that was caused by magisk i also faced this issue and understood that it is making problem while patching the boot.img thats why I reccomend to not patch the image because it ends with a bootloop just rename the Magisk.apk to Magisk.zip and flash it normally with a custom recovery now al done you can use magisk without bootloop but dont forget to flash bootloop saver magisk module to be safe from other magisk module issues
