Cannot Adjust Screen Saver Settings - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

After the December update on both my phone and my wife's phone, we can no longer adjust the screen saver settings from the settings menu. The menu just crashes each time. Can anyone else replicate this?

Yeah, I can. I opened it once and it worked. Tried again and it force closed. After a re-boot it worked once again. Interesting!

Yes. When i click on the adjust button, it jumps back to the display settings.

I just cleared the cache of the app and it's working. We'll see for how long it still works but I've gone into it a few times now.

Which app cache did you clear? I tried clearing the settings app and it didn't work for me.

You can adjust the screensaver clock settings by going through the clock app. Go into settings in the clock app(top right corner) scroll to the bottom and you can make the clock screensaver more dim or change to analog.

Like I said that's not checked, its strange
Are you using Go Locker?
Is your battery below 5%? For whatever reason, mine does this too when the battery's running low...

Under "Display", "Brightness", uncheck "automatic brightness". Don't leave it checked and set it to "0". Once unchecked, you can adjust the slide bar to the brightness you want and it shouldn't change unless / until your "power saving" options kick in.
This is a different setting than "auto adjust screen".

I already mentioned nothing is set to auto. No auto brightness or auto power for screen. I set the brightness manually to 20% turn screen off turn back on and it goes back to full brightness.
Try to disable Widget Locker and see if it fixed your issue, I saw this issue with my phone when I was using Go Locker and Go Launcher Ex and set the Go Locker to Default Lanucher.
Then I reset the default to Go Launcher Ex and it worked for me.

My Pie Pro stops working after screen lock

What to do?
I have to manually start it all the time
Settings > Advanced > Battery Manager > Protected apps.
Flick the "switch" next to the apps you don't want killed when the screen turns off.

Now only thing is there is a blue bar where I set up my pie control touch area. When I'm not using pie control it's still there. Any idea how to make it invisible?

Solution was to terminate the app by pressing backwards. Then bar went away keeping functionality

flashlight?

Hmm I've heard the flashlight will now let you set intensity but I can find a setting to turn on the flashlight without using a third party widget.
Very easy. Open your Quick Settings at the top...hit the word "Flashlight"...not the icon but the word. It will bring up the options to change it.
How is the maximum brightness level vs the old toggle?

Thanks just got back to this. It seems I had the button layout set at 4x3 and it wasn't showing it to me and when I clicked edit I still wasn't seeing it as an option to add. When I changed the layout to 5x3 I got it back.
Can anyone comment on the flashlight brightness levels achieved by the update? I ask because I'm rooted on MM, which allows me to use a root flashlight app (see below) that is insanely bright. I use this on a daily basis and (unless the new built-in toggle can match it) losing this will keep me from upgrading to Nougat. It's that useful to me. Losing my preferred version of Google Maps is another big issue, but the phone torch allows me to not have to carry a separate flashlight at work and makes my life simpler.

Display in grayscale

Hey,
just noticed that my display is in grayscale. After rebooting the Bootanimation switches to grayscale too during boot up. Tried to press revert colours from quick tiles and it says that the Display calibration wont work after booting up the phone immediately. After 30 min. up this message is still the same.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
GM1913 with latest updates and Magisk + TWRP
Are you on a custom kernel? Possibly have greyscale enabled in kernel manager app if so.
No i got no custom Kernel. It just went grey. 10 minutes before all worked fine.
Display Calibration, reading mode and nightmode is greyed out in settings and i cant use them.

This is Wind Down, a feature in the Digital Wellbeing section of Settings. It grays the screen at night, but you can turn it off or adjust the times in Settings.

Annoying alarm icon in top bar.

All of sudden showed up today on my op7pro. Anyone knows how to get rid of it? My alarm is off.
I know you can disable it in status bar- icon manager but this is not a case. I didn't have it before.
Settings>Display>Status Bar>Icon Manager>Toggle Alarm.
Edit: I missed that second part. Have you tried enabling and disabling an alarm? If that doesn't work, Icon Manager might be the only way.

I know I can so it but my alarm is off so it should not show up in status bar, right? Ones alarm ia on icon will appear in status bar. That's the way it should be, right?
Try clearing data for alarm app maybe.
Looks my alarm is up for monday 11pm. I wish I know how to disable it.
BTW... I tried to clear data, I even disable it and still this icon is there.
I have no clue what 3d picture means.
What program are you using to get that many notification icons in your pull down menu?
I had the same issue and figure out that Tasker was causing this issue - this device only, never had a problem on a Samsung or a Huawei.

Go into the apps permissions and change notifications silent without icon. I think should work

If you're using a non OEM alarm app go into app info and select notifications and verify that it's toggled off. With a shot. Think it would work truly
Had the same issue. Found out, that it came from the next event from 'do not disturbe'-schedule of a notification app (Plus Beat in my case). Really annoying...

Third picture means to allow the alarm clock to wake up the phone if the device is off
I would suggest force closing the oneplus launcher or clearing data to see if it clears, clearly somethknm is borked
