Hey Everyone!
Just got my Mi Mix 3 and the hardware is awesome, but I'm having trouble unlocking the bootloader through the mi unlock tool, I already have permissions from my account with my OG Mi Mix, but for some reason it will not detect the Mix 3. Sometimes it does detect the phone if I start Fastboot while plugged in and with the tool open on my windows 10 pc, but it cannot verify the phone, even though I have signed in on the phone through my Mi Account.
Any Ideas on what could be causing this? I saw another thread a coupe weeks ago with a similar issue, but the only way they got it working was with a win7 machine, of which I don't have.
I have all the proper drivers and utilities installed, but nothing is working, even tried it on a different windows 10 machine and still no avail.
Wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Driver signature enforcing might be the issue on windows 10, might need to deactivate it on pc boot or go to earlier version (win7)

So before installing Windows 8.1, adb and fastboot worked beautifully, however after grabbing the update from the Metro store, fastboot doesn't work, my phone isn't recognized. It says something about "failed enumeration" in the device manager. I've tried reinstalling HTC Sync and redownloading it from HTC's site ti get the latest drivers (after which I uninstall HTC Sync of course)
I've also tried Koush's drivers but neither installs the fastboot driver.

I have been trying to get it recognized in fastboot for pas four hours without any luck.. Prior to this, I also had W8 with working fastboot and now I get the same error as well. I tried numerous times, even uninstalled all my drivers (except for display and mouse) to do a clean driver reinstall, but without luck :/

Well, I tried something similar, but whenever I uninstalled the usb port from device manager, it reinstalled back and reported that the device is not recognized..
I've got HTC One and its drivers don't work on 8.1. However, I installed HTC drivers (by installing and uninstalling HTC Sync Manager - possibly the lamest method that exists) on Vista and it instantly recognized the phone. So the five hours on 8.1 could have been saved by spending circa 3 minutes on Vista.
But on some forum somebody mentioned that you can use live CD of linux and it will get recognized easily

Thanks for your fast reply. Seems that even Microsoft is providing free update for windows 8 but a phone that unable to flash by using bootloader is kinda useless for unofficial ROM users like us.
I have something don't understand from your post. You mentioned that install and uninstall the sync manager on Vista but why not back to 8? The drivers will work on 8 right? I formatted my computer back to 8 and now finally the windows recognize back my phone.
Other than that, do you still have the link to the live CD forum??

Well, my primary PC is my laptop with 8.1, but I've got desktop as well with dual-booting Vista and 8.1 and it is way faster to do it on vista, than to partition HDD and install Windows 8. Also I'm not dev or some tinkerer, so I don't need to use fastboot that often.
To answer the second question, I closed all tabs regarding the drivers on 8.1 as soon as I did what I needed on Vista, so I'm afraid I don't have the link. I could probably find it somehow using my internet history, but I spent several hours browsing various forums, so it would take me an eternity...
Just got the OPO yesterday, love the phone so far but it's not showing up on my PC after clicking on Android debugging. I've spent 3 hours on the web/forums here and on XDA, tried the one click toolkits and just about anything I could find. I'd really like to root and unlock this phone, any ideas would be a great help. Running Windows XP on the PC and still 4.4.2 on the OPO

Try this:
Launch the installer and follow all the steps.
Reboot and try again
still no luck, it shows up green in the checker but when I put it into debugging mode the disappears from the PC. I think I'm going to try and find a different PC to use... It has to be something with my computer
Just so you know there are updates to your phone to 4.4.4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386956 these are my preferred drivers. Use them, although your machine's OS is pretty old. Try a machine that is newer with at least Windows 7.
The drivers say they should work on XP. Give it a try
Hey everyone,
So I got my Mi Mix 3 yesterday and I wanted to unlock the bootloader. ( for obvious reasons )
But I encountered a problem. I can't get the Mi Unlock Utility to detect my Mix 3, even though I can communicate with it via ADB
I think I have permission to unlock it, since I get to the unlocking screen
I'm thinking it might be a problem with the drivers.
Or maybe it is a problem with fastboot, because it doesn't show up when I type "fastboot devices"
And yes, I entered fastboot mode with power+volume down.
Did anyone else encounter this problem?
Thanks in advance.
No screenshots because I can't post links yet unfortunately.

Update:
I installed the Google USB Drivers and Fastboot is working, only when I start the Utility my phone displays:
Code:
Press any key to shutdown
After that, I can't connect to it in fastboot until I fully restart my PC.

You can also use Windows 8 or 8.1. But other than that I couldn't find any other solution.
Maybe you can try to setup dual-boot on your windows 10 machine, so you have windows 10 and 8.1 installed at the same time. And use the 8.1 for unlocking/flashing your Mix 3.

But I already succeeded in unlocking and flashing the EU rom using a windows 8 PC.

So I've tried that, for some reason it still has the same problem... I'm going to try to do it on a windows 8.1 machine, but I'm not very hopeful...
Also sometimes it gets to the point of recognizing the device, but then it says device is unlocked, but it actually isnt...

Have you bound the phone to your account via settings and enable OEM unlock from dev options?
Ok well, I got it to work on my windows 8.1 machine.
This does appear to be an issue with windows 10 in some way.
Now to wait 53 hours... RIP

I also encountered some driver difficulties with Windows 7. My issue was a previously-installed Samsung driver which Windoze was using for the Xiaomi phone. If you have an old driver, Samsung or generic, you need to uninstall it first from the Windoze Add/Remove Programs screen. The Xiaomi driver, once installed, also seemed to cause some problems with other USB drivers, now when I boot it takes a couple of minutes before the keyboard and mouse start working, not a big deal, just another thing to add to the long list of intractable problems with my Windoze installation.
You probably were getting that error due to another running instance of adb server. Try running adb kill-server in admin command prompt, then open the Xiaomi utility.

Hello,
I am trying to unlock my bootloader. did everything "by the book" however it seems that my PC does not recognize my Poco when in fastboot (and actually at all - it never responses to the Poco).
I enabled debugging, tried to install poco driver (but it was not recognized so the installation was not succesful), I tried to use mi flash but it also won't recognize the phone. I also tried to install other ADB and fastboot apps but they also trough the command line cannot detect it. I even tried everything on another computer that I have...
I would mention that I have never tried to connect my Poco trough USB but it seems to be not normal.
I am using the 8gb version with global ROM ver 12.0.4.0.
What can I do? maybe something with my phone?
Please help I want to unlock and install xiaomi.EU so much
Thanks!

I have a similar Issue.
I cannot get PC to detect the phone unless it's in Official Firmware and then only once it's booted up. It won't detect fastboot or recovery mode.
It's as if I got blocked from their services.
I have a similar Issue.
I used another older pc and it worked.
Chipsets in Mainboard
The Poco F1 (Fastbootmodus) was not beeing on my system with a x370 Plattform (AMD). Switching to an old Intel-System (P35 Chipset) helped.
What kind of PC-System do you have?
I have an Intel system 2 different machines, otg drives, nothing gets detected
The original cable in the box is not work for connect to PC, find another cable to try. That work for my case.

I tried about 5 different cables on 3 different machines. All cables work when booted but nothing when recovery or fastboot.
I have come to realize Xiaomi is just an inferior product, with inferior internals when compared to OnePlus. it's the old adage "You get what you pay for".
I liked the design, Pop Up camera, Amoled, 865. Dreamy specs I just wished it had a rear fingerprint scanner. It would have been perfect. But 3 or 4 months and dud. Disappointing.

Hi guys,
I'm trying to unlock my Poco F3's bootloader. I'm doing good on the phone's part (enabling oem unlocking, usb debugging and connecting account and device), but on the PC side, not so much. When I try to use the Mi Unlock tool on my PC, there's 2 types of errors occurring, which depend on the Mi Unlock Tool version I'm using (I've tried several of them just to try to get them to work). The errors are:
1. After I log in to the Mi Unlock Tool, In Chinese text It says this: (attached screenshot)
I translated It, and the result was "You do not appear to be connected to the Internet Please refresh and try connecting to the network Tap to refresh"
2. The second error I am getting on the other version of the Mi unlock tool which is "Couldn't get Info[-1 Unknown error. Try again later". (Screenshot attached)
For context, I am using ADB setup 1.4.3 with the Mi Unlock tool, on Windows 11. I've tried downloading other Mi Unlock tool versions to see If it fixes the problem, but I get the one of the above 2 errors everytime. I've also tried using the XiaomToolsV2 to download any missing drivers, but nothing has changed. Send help pls.
Did you do this?
Spoiler: MiUnlock
Check that the firewall does not block the application, create a rule if necessary.
Put the Miflash folder at the root of the disk, run as administrator.

thank you for replying, meanwhile while I was waiting I thought of giving it a try my bros pc (its newer and has much better processing capabilities). And magically for some reason it turned out pretty smooth, till the phone not connected page. I even got a popup to use the latest version of the unlock tool which I didn't get on my PC.
Now the problem here is that my PC doesn't recognize it. So to fix that I tried XiaomiToolV2 (so it can help the PC identify my device, as I saw ppl doing it on YouTube). though luckily XiaomiToolV2 managed to identify my device, but the problem I'm stuck at is the USB port. Ah, It got fixed after I reset the Pc after downloading the recommended firmware by XiaomiToolV2.
Just figured It out, the main reason for those errors is due to the filtering on my Wi-Fi my bro set up. It most probably was blocking the Mi Unlock Tool from properly communicating with the Internet. Somehow, my brother always uses a VPN (proton to be specific) on his PC at all times. I don't. So the first time I tried to setup the Unlock Tools on his VPNed PC, It went pretty smoothly than It did on my PC. Then I had tor restart it to install XiaomiToolV2 firmware. After I did that, I was getting the same error I was on my PC. Then I re-connected the VPN (as it was disconnected due to restart) and restarted the Mi Unlock Tool, and voila. magik.
Now the problem I'm stuck at is that I have to wait 166 more hours to be able to unlock It, as I connected my Mi account just 2 hours ago. I wasn't aware that the 168 hours timer starts from when I connect my acc, (my dumass thought the timer starts when you first bootup the phone after purchasing ). So there's that..
I was writing this reply while I was in the process, so the sequence you see in the first 2 paragraphs is me trying random stuff one after another. Sorry for the long post, and thank you for commenting/helping.
For people coming to this thread in the future looking for a solution to the same error ("Couldn't get Info[-1 Unknown error. Try again later") try using a VPN, it should fix the problem.
Alright, you solved the problem.
Xiaomi official tool is Mi Unlock not XiaomiToolV2.
Recommended to use a Usb2 port.
Yeah, thanks. I used the XiaomiToolV2 just so I can get the official tool to recognize my phone which It wasn't doing earlier
