I think so but it's from ta-1020 just one sim
Something tells me we won't be getting android P/
Hi all! I I tell you guys what is my first experience with the new update. I have a Nokia 3 TA-1032 dual sim, I use it with SD card, and I formatted as an internal storage. When today I decided to search for some updates to the system, and suprise: Hell ya boy, it have. So first the update is downloaded, then reboot. The phone was failed. I don't know what happened. So a reboot again whatta heck is happened, and I just see, the background image has changed, and all of the app icons dissappeared, and sadly some of the apps are lost huge amount of data. But! No upgrade. I'm quite not happy. After this, I repeated the update 2 times: failed. Than I decided to eject(I mean pick it out from my device) my SD card, and repeat the process. Remember, my SD is formatted as an integral storage. After this circus I finally get the update, and installed. So, I just looked my apps: hello Google, nice unnecessary apps what you got there. Your eyes my friend is good: with the update, we get some unnecessary apps, like: Google docs, and other type of things. I'm so happy Nokia. Oh, and the new 8.1 system is using more ram! JUST THE SYSTEM WITHOUT APPS! Please guys, think twice before installing this "very useful and super" update...

Hello, I never wrote here, but I am desperate and I need your help. I upgraded to 8.1 tonight and it really sucks, I asked Nokia on their chat but it doesn't seem to be possible to rollback to 8.0, can I root my phone or something?

Only thing you can do is flash a 7.x rom using ost then upgrade to 8.0, but you will lose all your data.
There are threads on how this is done. I'm guessing you haven't unlocked your bootloader
Indeed, I never did anything like that, at all, I know nothing when it comes to telephones, so all these root and bootloader things scare me a lot. But I just can't keep 8.1, it turns on the screen when I get a notification, I can't play pokémon go, and the brightness is wrong. This is such a mess, also I have no money to buy another phone, I just want to cry
By the way, why do I have to rollback to 7 instead of 8 directly? And how can I ensure that I'll get 8.0 instead of 8.1 when I upgrade? Sorry for all these questions but as I said I know nothing, if you can give me detailed steps and/or links to relevant guides I'll be grateful.

Try This:- Go To Settings>Apps & Notifications>Notifications> Then Click On "Lockscreen Notification" And Then Don't Show at All.
Try It
Maybe It Work
I Am Still On 8.0 And Eagerly Waiting For 8.1 Update.
Mine is TA-1032, just check in the settings if there is any update

No, I *want* the notifications to be on the lock screen, but I don't want the screen to lit up when I receive a notification. Because, as other people said elsewhere, if I receive a notification while the phone is in my pocket, it might start doing other things since the screen became responsive instead of staying off. But I do want to see the notifications on the lock screen if I press the power button, otherwise I'd need to unlock the phone all the times. I hope that this makes sense.
None of that matters anyway since I'm mainly disappointed by Pokémon Go.

As for performance: it's MUCH better. Everything opens at least twice as fast as on 8.0, but there's a sacrifice for this: the general smoothness of system has degraded. In-app performance is best and it's pretty smoother than 8.0, but in such places as recent apps menu and drop-down bar it's quite laggy.
As for battery, I see no changes at all.
Yes, in 8.1 the recent apps menu is terrible laggy. I hope they fix it as soon as possible.
Is there any gcam 6.1xxxxx working on nokia 3??
This is the ****est update i had ever got.

So I'm running completely stock, never rooted Android 5.0 on my Nexus 5. I got the 5.0.1 update today and when I go to install, it gives me the dead android pic with "error". Anybody else having the same issue? Also, would me enabling developer options have anything to do with it?
P.S. Already cleared my cache partition and it's still giving me the error.

Except, like I said, I didn't. I did not root or unlock the bootloader or play around with the phone at all, strictly for this reason. I didn't want to go through the struggle of factory resetting my device every now and then. The closest thing to "modifying" the phone was me unlocking developer settings and I was asking if that could have something to do with it.
Every other thread on the forums has to do with people rooting so no, it's not like one of the millions of other threads.
Describe more.
The best way to update is by flashing the factory image in fastboot, i don`t trust/hate OTA`s personaly
I updated from kitkat to Lollipop with no issues from the OTA update. That was really recent and I haven't changed anything having to do with the system since then. Yet the 5.0.1 update is giving me the error message.
I'm trying to avoid doing a factory reset as that was the main reason that I've kept the phone completely stock. I figured not rooting the phone would let me update in peace and, since it's a nexus, it's been enough to handle my needs without any customization.

Just double checked and nope, bootloader is locked. Yeah :/ I was trying to see if it's an issue with anybody else on completely stock devices. So far mine is a no go, even though the 5.0 update worked flawlessly. Why would the 5.0 update go through, yet the 5.0.1 believes the system has been modified..?

Well, there's a way to get the ota but it is going to be tedious. It involves rooting with towelroot, then using bootunlocker from the play store. That'll allow you to unlock the bootloader without wiping your device. Then you'll need to flash the system, boot, and recovery image with fastboot from the 5.0 factory image. Then do the ota.

Thanks! I may just wait until the next update and see if there's a chance it'll work. Or I may just have to do a fresh new install which I am not looking forward to at all Lol. But thank you for your help!
Uhhhh, ok. So I'm not exactly sure what happened. I figured I'd give the OTA another try because why not...and it worked I noticed it downloaded a bigger file too, 30ish mb as opposed to the 13mb OTA that would give me an error. Not sure if I got sent a wrong update file or what, but if your issue comes close to what I experienced, just keep trying the OTA update. I'm also on T-Mobile (phone bought directly from T-Mobile) in case that makes any difference.
Hey guys,
I just got the new controller and went through the disappointment of finding out that I have to wait for another few valve time weeks to be able to use it to it's full potential.
Now I count myself as a total technical mongoloid and it took me quite a bit of effort to root my tablet when i got it in marshmallow.
My question now is such: Does anyone know what the process of updating a rooted marshmallow to nougat is going to look like? I don't expect it to be me just tapping the update prompt...
TL;DR: What's the rooted update to Nougat gonna look like?

Quick boot doesn't seem to be available anymore... is there something else we should use?
Also, I downloaded the update before I saw that it doesn't really improve much. I don't want it now, but it's downloaded and says it will install on a restart. Is there any way to prevent this? Can I delete the update somehow?
Thanks

The update has made my K1 significantly snappier, smoother and faster. Especially opening apps, going back to home screen, app drawer, etc. Not a huge change, but it's significant.
Plus, security patches are important. I'd disagree that N "doesn't improve much".
I havent noticed too much of a change updating to nougat but the multi-window is kinda cool. Root was easy to get after updating. You just flash twrp with fastboot flash recovery, boot into recovery and flash supersu zip worked for me no problem. The main complaint i have with the nougat update is i dont seem to be able to use kali nethunter anymore, which sucks. If anyone knows how i can get it working that'd be awesome. Im thinking of restoring my mm backup i made right before i updated just to get nethunter back.

Thanks to the great work of @D3RP_ I was able to unlock my Verizon branded pixel 2, install TWRP, flash Magisk, and pass Safetynet Checks. I've got Viper 4 Android installed for audio tweaks, and I've installed the Magisk module that changes the Android Emoji to the more visually appealing iOS emoji. What else should I be doing with this powerful tool?
One thing I'd like to do is find a way to quickly launch my flashlight while the screen is off. Or at the very least, I'd like to customize my lockscreen shortcuts to launch the flashlight. I've tried the method listed here, but can't get the activity launcher app to work on the Pixel 2. It Force Closes immediately.
All suggestions welcomed!
Thanks for the shoutout xD Personally, i've remapped Active Edge to something useful (screenshot) but you can really do whatever you want with this guide. I understand the want to push your phone further and further, but sometimes you just have to be happy with what you have. LSpeed and Greenify for batty and usability. Whatever games you want since you pass SafetyNet. I'm waiting for the dev scene to catch up to SDK 27 for Xposed and custom ROMS, I know Lineage just recently ported 8.1 to OnePlus 5, so that would be nice on a Pixel.

So Xposed doesn't work for Android Oreo yet? That is what I relied on in the past to make little tweaks here and there. Magisk modules seem limited in choices.

Unfortunately not, with everything i've seen it's gonna be on Rovo to catch up, since 8.1 is just so much different internally than prior versions. We're at the cutting edge right now, so it's just a waiting game.
Per rovo's update in mid December:
I know many of you are waiting for Oreo support, and indeed I'm pretty far with that. 95% of the code are ported, basic functionality is working on Genymotion. The remaining 5% are obviously those parts of the code which are more difficult to port. I literally just upgraded my primary device to Android 8.1, so I can hopefully start some real testing soon.
I used button remapper to get my flashlight to turn on by holding the volume rocker while the screen is off. However, I still have to turn the screen on to turn off the light. Any suggestions?
Now I'm working on swapping the volume keys when viewing in landscape. It never made sense to me to watch the volume indicator increase to the right as you press on the left side of the rocker.
Which guide did you follow to do it all? Once rooted what is the method to apply updates since there's 2 partitions now?
Newbie struggling with ota with Pixel 2 verizon unlocked
My pixel 2 was purchased from verizon. I unlocked it and installed TWRP and Magisk 15.2. I am struggling trying to find a detailed way to update the newest ota. I’ve been searching and reading but afraid to pull the trigger due to my lack experience. Thanks for your time.
I'd like to add that Substratum alone can be used to theme the pixel 2 UI now that I have root. No need to pay for the Andromeda add on. I'll keep updating this thread as I discover more ways to take advantage of root on the pixel 2.

Well, thanks for the idea, but it had the same issue as button mapper. The shortcut is disabled after the screen is off for more than 5-10 seconds.
That's weird because mine doesn't behave that way. It will turn on no matter how long the phone has been asleep.

Downloading it now. I will be really interested to see if they managed to address the stand-by bug that was causing excess drain and upgrade the modem firmware to improve connectivity. Those are the two main remaining issues with this phone. Hopefully they also implemented a method to force applications into full-screen, but I'm not holding my breath on it.

Already disappointed on the modem firmware front. No upgrade there. Also, no ability to force full-screen. Going to pass judgement on stand-by bug after 48 hour or so, unless obviously an issue.

I sure as hell hope not because the deep-sleep issue is horrible. You lose an average of 1.5-2h of actual SoT and the drain is regularly >1% per hour in stand-by.

I was in the same boat as you. I was on 8.1B1 rooted so I fastboot flashed the boot.img, then rebooted , downloaded the OTA which wouldn't install.
Went back to boot-loader, flashed the boot.img to both slots, rebooted, took OTA, and it still won't work. I get "couldn't update installation problem"
I didn't have an issue getting the last OTA, the same way.

Yea..not looking to start over.
The OTA I downloaded was off the reddit announcement thread. I'm assuming that guy pulled it off the device. Essential said they were going to post "sideloading files" also. So, I'm hoping that those are somehow different. (Otherwise why wouldn't they just throw a link up there)
Wonder if Essential pushed it since Pixel is now offering pre release of Android P?
My radio has noticeably improved, instead of VZW its finally showing Verizon wireless. And the new developer options are nice

My install wasn't working either at first (same boat as you guys, Magisk rooted with custom kernel). At first I just did a Magisk uninstall and reboot but it wouldn't install. Thought maybe I still had a custom recovery installed, but there was no TWRP in recovery. So, I just did a sideload install of the 8.1 beta using adb and then rebooted. That put me back on stock 8.1b1 and retained all my settings/data. Then I made sure my settings were correct in developer options (USB debugging, etc.), and it's finally installing. Not sure, maybe I just didn't hold my mouth right the first couple times, but it's working now.
Can anyone tell me if stable has multitouch issues that were on beta?
Rooted 7.1.1 took the update just fine, lost root and twrp
Looking at META_INF\com\android\metadata, it's expecting essential/mata/mata:8.1.0/OPM1.180104.010/144:user/release-keys but, based on the text at the top of the screen when sideloading, the device is at ssential/mata/mata:8.1.0/OPM1.180104.010/144:user/test-keys. Changing it is pointless, since META_INF\MANIFEST.MF contains a SHA-256 hash of of the metadata file. I'm going to try recomputing the hash and updating the OTA zip.
Edit: Didn't work. But has someone on reddit confirm Jank4AUs situation.
Anyone have a zip I can flash with the system updater built into the phone? I've tried the few that have been posted, however it is located in the root folder the local updater can't see it.
The way I get the updates is by Oxygen Updater.
Never had an issue, look for a local update.... install
Do not root ....

MOD EDIT: Language
I pay for my programs so I do not need Adaway.
For programs I can not buy, putting up with a few ads is the price of using the program
Also I am not always toying with things to get things like Bank apps and Google Pay to work, never have to worry about bricking anything.
Hi guys,
I have to remove "most" posts from this thread to clean it up. Please do show some respect when you discuss matters with a fellow members. I know that online forum is more open and free than real world, but if you would not say some harsh words to someone in real life, do not say it here either.
It is totally OK to have your own ways of using your own phones, but it must be done without calling names on a member.
Feel free to hit the Report button when you see a bad move on XDA. Thanks.

So the only way to get it to wait for official file from the Oneplus site? OR with rollback to 9? I do not want my data to be wiped :/
Any one knows any other way to go for stable 10?

It is supposed to preserve your data. But I never assume that it will work the way it is supposed to. That goes for any updates, and especially as one as major as Android 9 > 10.
Backup anything that is important to you on a routine basis (method of your choice - many options), and definitely before an update. Then as I like to say: Expect the best, but prepare for the worst. In other words, you will probably be able to update and keep your data. But you are prepared just in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks guys for the tips, but I know how to backup my data. Problem is that I have around 170gb of data on my phone and do not have a space to store it. I will have some 2tb disk soon but it is hard to wait
