Hope you did the work around if not do the following:
Make sure you have provided Su access to the module and its in active mode.
Uncheck the LG rom check box and do a system restard within the app from the top right corner.
Make sure while doing the same you have wifi enabled.
Once you see wifi themed then recheck the lg rom box and do a system ui restart.
Restart your phone. It should work now.
Though a fix for the work around has been made which will be there in next update as currently adding more theme options.
Doesn't work even with that method.

So I just gave the 12/28 version a shot and Xposed Installer crashes after boot. This is with an uninstall for the old version, reboot and install new. I also tried rebooting after the fresh install but got the same results.

Ya that was due to experimental version 2.7. If you roll back to 2.6 your issue will be gone.
I recomend to uninstall this version and do a fresh install of version 6.0 above with lot of fix and features introduced.
For more clarification, i am just a post awat
Hello, I recently did a clean install of sultanxda's CM12.1 ROM running version 12.1-YOG7D-20151220-STABLE-Sultan-bacon and I'm having a problem where most themes I try to install don't work, they just uninstall themselves and I get a notification saying "(Name of theme) failed to install." For some reason, certain themes work and certain ones don't, and I don't know what makes them that way. For example the Aquamarine theme from the play store works but the PitchBlack one does not, and the Smartfren theme from the CyanogenOS Theme store works but the Hexo theme does not. I've done things such as rebooting and wiping dalvik/cache to no avail. This problem is getting pretty annoying so any help is really appreciated.
Thanks
Have anybody tried the substratum on stock ROM because I am facing some problem as I am unable to revert to original theme even after uninstalling the theme as well as substratum app and also power menu doesn't work any more phone restart directly on pressing power menu
Does anyone has the same problem?

substratum doesn't supported by lenovo p2 stock rom.
So use it at your own risks.!!
Reflash stock rom if you facing problems this is only way to get rid of installed theme.

Yes ! themes are working but use at your own risk.. It can brick your device. Bcz stock roms doesn't support OMS. And will modify system stock files. And if anything goes wrong your device might brick/stuck at boot logo.
Sorry for bad English.:good:

The best thing to do is to keep a twrp dackup. If anything goes wrong, install stock deodexed ROM and restore back up.
I did had a few issues at first. But the phone will definately not get hard bricked.
If you know to use substratum properly, then you'll find 2 flashable zips inside the substratum folder. One of which can be used to restore the theme to factory settings
Only apps that will work is Playstore, Android Message App if you want a dark messaging background, Whatsapp, and Youtube. Everything else, no cause it is not Stock Android Apps; including settings. I used Swift Black Theme. Any other app can possibly work if it's on the list to theme it over.. If it doesn't, it' will say so or if the app fc.. Just go to the Overlay List and erase the App that is not working properly. Once your done, reboot and it will take effect.

True, usually that is used if you are doing OTA and the System UI crashes. It does help to get out of that situation when flashing the Substratum Recovery.

Loneelutes most substrate overlays will work. But notification text may get blacked out some time. Pitch black theme would do better in all aspects. All of its overlays worked for me.
I too had pretty bad experiences on stock ROM with substratum..
I use swift black (paid) in custom roms ..but on stock ROM ,I can't even update theme ..
Once if theme gets applied ,we can't change ..
System refuses to change .. and gives me bootloops..
So ..I just apply themes only to Apps but not system files ..
Even though some apps FC when they are updated from playstore , they can be troubleshooted easily ..
Warning : don't change system ui , pixel launcher ..
Things I change :
1) WhatsApp
2) navbar
I don't open others much ..so I don't care about them to be themed ..

Havent had issues with Swift Black..... So just test them, if it doesn't work.. Just go to the overlay list, erase and reboot. It's all about trial and error. Subtratum theme works on whatever app is listed for each theme.. When updating, you have to apply and reboot.. If that doesn't work.. Erase the apps that is themed in the overlay list and then reboot.. Apply the theme as if you are dling it for the first time and reboot again.
It's a bit tedious but that's Lenovo Stock for you. You can try Youtube and Google Playstore too.. And if you want messaging to have a black theme too.. Try Android Messaging app, Swift Black works on that app.

What's Android version should I pick when I apply the theme??
depends iff you are on a custom rom then its oms and iff on stock rom then experimental although the themeing isnt as good as oms it is still acceptable and does theme most apps.
hi there, so last night i successfully update my phone to android 7 without any problem, but after updating i notice one problem that i was rooted user of marshmallow and i before updating i had disabled themes and theme store apps using package disabler app, but after update i lost root so please please tell me how to re eneble those two apps, i am soo badly want to see new icons of nouget but its just showing me my previously installed themes icon because "themes" is disabled, thanks in advance
--------------
solved using one tricks, i tried to download themes.apk manually from apkmirror, after installing themes is still showing disabled in app mngr but i can change and set themes to default.
Does the latest version of oxygen OS on oneplus 7 support substratum? If not what are the alternaatives available to theme it?
I have the exact same doubt. Installed Substratum and Substratum Lite and while them both compiles themes reporting no problem at all and inform the they applied themes successfully, no changes happens to the UI, lock screen, icons and so on.
So on Oxygen OS (in my case, Magisk rooted OOS 10.3.7) I couldn't get any theme to work using Substratum.
On OOS 10 Substratum themes work fine, I use "Darc" theme myself.
Make sure your selected theme supports OOS, then select it in the dropdown menu at the very top and build the overlays. Then reboot and after that apply the overlays from the manager.
On OOS 11 it might be a different story since Google has locked Android down even more, so many 3rd party apps won't theme at all and system might only get themed dark/black but not transparent, and not all parts of the system. We'll have to wait + see what magic themers can work with 11 ... personally I'm staying on OOS 10 until/unless 11 can get themed properly.
