I just bought a HTC Elfin from the carrier Claro here in Puerto Rico as a birthday present for my nephiew since its his favorite phone and wanted him to use it in his AT&T service, and was planning to give it to him today but seems like this model is harder to unlock than the elf. i have tried to use the unlock methods posted on this site but they all give me the same code and it doesnt work (looks like my specific model is different thust the code isnt the same) I thought that it was just as easy as unlocking an elf but i was wrong. Can anyone help me or point me to a way to unlock the device for free?? I would pay for an online service but my credit card is maxed out and i cant purchase online with it.
If anyone can lend me a hand on unlocking the phone ill PM the device ID or the IMEI# if needed or at least tell me where i can achieve this please reply

Yes, you need your IMEI number in order to get the correct unlock code for your phone. You can find unlock codes either on Ebay or third party sites online for pretty cheap.

I bought a Motorola Droid 2 Global from ebay(india) and I'm from India itself,but the phone is locked,what should I do in order to unlock it to use any sim card?i cannot contact verizon and I know that there are some sites which can provide unlock codes.,but without verizon and some sites,is there anyway to unlock it,i was suggested to use a custom ROM at DM but I've seen in other forums that using cROM did not help at all.So,are tgere anyone who can help me.
Btw,i've found two other threads related to this,but still I sarted a new thread hoping that there are new solutions cuz the threads I've found are quite old.Thanks.

I have the same problem and there is no a solution yet. There are some Droid 2 from Verizon that cannot be unlocked because Verizon changed the codes.
Someone says that using TurboSIM the phone can works but I've never tried.
I had to return my phone to USA and try to sell it on ebay as locked.

If this phone is chilean u can enter in the www.entel.cl and broswe about! potabilidad' and put u imei and folow instructions. Or go to the company and make request of this code

The phone is bought in Europe (Croatia) in T-Mobile. I am still under contract so my provider wont let me unlock my phone or give me any code for it. Before XL i had Samsung Galaxy Mini and i found some tool on XDA forum to unlock phone to work on all networks so i thought maybe someone knows some tool like that so i can unlock my XL. The point is that someone told me if i unlock my phone to work on all networks that way i will be able to unlock my bootloader, to be honest i dont know if that is true or not. When i check bootloader status it says "Bootloader unlock : not allowed". So i am actually finding a way to be able to unlock my bootloader. When i talked with my provider about that they don't know **** about it or they just wont tell me. So i would be very helpful if anyone could give me any advice or tutorial how to change bootloader status to allowed. I allready got the code from sony to unlock bootloader and all the tools i need to do it but i am afraid to start the process so i don't brick or brake my phone in any way since my bootloader status is set to not allowed. About the Sprint Note Edge N915P are information about how to unlock it, but about the AT&T version N915A I can't find any solution than to buy a unlock code. I would like to know if there is a trick o unlock code generator that can help to unlock this phone and be able to use others GSM SIM cards, for example, from T-mobile or others GSM international carriers.
The user @thatotherguy.. tell in a post something about to know how to SIM unlock this device, so we will be waiting for more help and details

yes, I know the boot loader is locked but it has to be some way, maybe with a unlock code generator or something similar.

If you get a two month go plan you should be able to unlock it that way

Thank you for the suggestion but in this case we are out of US so the interesting would be to do the unlocks from others countries
if anyone knows something about this please help us. I know some others persons are in the same situation and can't found the way to GSM unlock this model
