I was running a lollipop bootloader and since i wanted to upgrade to marshmallow i had to update the bloodloader too, so i flashed a new stock boot.img obtained from a stock rom and soon after that i also flashed twrp, i think i somehow bypassed the new (locked?) bootloader with a custom recovery and now i'm stuck in "Rescue Mode".
Device is now stuck into that mode, i cannot turn it off or enter recovery, as soon as i restart my phone it goes into rescue mode, i have already tried all key combinations and also tried to force install from sdcard, my computer is not recognizing my device either so i can't use adb, i had no idea bricking a device like this was even possible, i'm quite desperate.. please help.
[How i fixed it] I somehow managed to get out of Rescue Mode, what i did wrong was not holding vol down + power long enough, you have to hold them down until phone restarts, that takes about 10 seconds, after that you will feel a vibration and huawei logo will appear, keep holding buttons down for 4-5 more seconds before taking your fingers off, it should then go into fastboot, once you're there adb should work and you will be able to unlock the bootloader if it is not unlocked already, after that you should be able push data to device or flash recovery again. If adb still doesn't work check usb drivers, your best bet is probably downloading HiSuite.
Awesome! :good:
Glad you got it going! I'll close this thread now! But here is your device section for future use, http://forum.xda-developers.com/t/huawei-p8
Cheers!
So my nexus 5 was running android 6.0.1 July security update, and I flashed 4.4.4 factory image yesterday so that I can maybe root it more easily. However, after I flashed the ROM it got stuck on "four dots animation", so I left it for an overnight booting. It didn't boot up. I also cant access bootloader because when I press the Volume Up+Volume Down+Power button combination it just restarts the "four dots animation". My Nexus 5 now isn't recognized by my windows so i don't know what to do. If anyone has any idea please comment your suggestion.
Tnx in advance.

keep holding just Power+Volume Down, should work. If not, let it fully drain the battery, then plug it into wall charger for like 30 min, and unplug it. Only then press and hold Volumedown and power
Hopefully this is just a software issue because I had something similar to this before where it would bootloop at the Google logo and it turned out that I needs to get my power button replaced. Since yours has got past the Google logo tho and on to the animation, I'd imagine its just software and you should be able to fix it.
If you plug it into your PC while its off and it starts charging, you may be able to boot through to fastboot from there using the ADB & Fastboot Utility's on your computer, boot into recovery mode and swap the rom.
Best of luck!
If your phone is stuck at bootloop. Easy fix is to mount system/cache again. See the following guidefor whole procedure.
https://itechify.com/2016/04/01/fix-failed-mount-cache-invalid-argument/
Hard fix is to flash the ROM again.
I had the same issue, first method worked out for me.
Best of luck.
After unlocking the bootloader, does it re-lock when the phone is rebooted into fastboot? When unlocking the bootloader, does it only take a few seconds for the phone to wipe the data paritions? If the answer is yes to either question, the emmc chip is damaged and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Try flashing the older stock Google ROM image you can find and flash the userdata.img file last. Immediately after flashing userdata, use the physical buttons to boot into recovery and factory reset. If the factory reset can't mount or wipe the partitions, it's probably a hardware issue.
Hello.
I am Finnish, so I try to tell my problem with correct english.
I have a Huawei P9 Mini Lite phone with Android 7, stock ROM. I unlocked the bootloader. I tried to install custom recovery, TWRP, but it failed, must have been wrong version, for other P9 model. I used Windows software just for for Huawei phones, that you can use to unlock, relock bootloder, root, and many stuff (I cannot remember the name of that software, it works in command prompt window). Situation was kind of messy, but after unlocking, I was able to boot phone to Android OS, only entering eRecovery first, and there press the "reboot" option. So I thought if I relock the bootloader, it maybe helps. After relocking, I rebooted my phone, and I got notification, that there is some problem with file system, and I must do factory reset. It offered me that option right away, so I clicked factory reset. After that, phone went into boot loop state, and also there is a warning screen, about that phone cannot be trusted, because of bootloader is unlocked-relocked. Cannot remember clearly, because the warning screen appears only for few seconds. I was able to press power, vol up/down buttons, that are mentioned in warning screen to enter recovery or continue etc., but it doesn´t help. Huawei logo appears, phone vibrates, and then it starts again... I cannot enter eRecovery anymore. I can enter to normal stock recovery only when I connect USB cable to PC, and press power and vol down, but there is no options to anything. Only notification, that I must connect phone to computer with USB cable, and I did that already. But computer doesn´t recognize my phone, so I cannot do nothing by using computer to try factory reset or something else. In a simple way, I have drivers on my PC for USB, and Huawei software too, but I cannot connect phone to PC. Interesting thing is, that Huawei software on my PC recognizes that there is my phone, when I use USB cable, but there is no connection between phone and PC. So how I can do anything to my phone, when I cannot use my PC to work with my phone? Battery is not removable, and I also let my battery to go empty, and when I connected phone to charger after that, and later tried to turn it on, boot loop started again.
[WANTED!!!] TWRP port for Huawei SLA-L02
Hi and welcome to this forum.
I apologize for the late reply. In the meantime, did you resolve the issue?
Is your device a Huawei SLA-L02?
If you still need help for the above-mentioned smartphone, let me know.

You can follow this guide.
Make sure that the build number ends in an even number (if your phone is a dual-sim model). For example, SLA-L22C432B150
In order to recover Android properly, it's necessary to discover which build number is installed now on your phone. So please, turn off your phone. Plug your phone to a computer by a usb cable, then hold down simultaneously the volume down button and the power button, so that the FASTBOOT&RESCUE MODE can start on your phone. Then, on Windows, run a command prompt as administrator and move to the directory where there are fastboot and adb.
Now, type and enter the following command:
Code:
fastboot oem get-build-number
Then, post the returned result, thanks.
Hello, I recently came on a pixel phone to build and use lineageOS on. Upon rebuilding, I believe I performed adb sync wrong the device and damaged system. After that, my adb keys became unauthorized and I am unable to access the bootloader menu(I press power and volume, but phone boots into Bootloop). I tried the steps to get to bootloader menu, but the phone doesn't power completely off, and when I press the power button it gives me the launch screen saying press power to pause/continue boot, not allowing me to go into bootloader
My bootloop goes like this: Bootloader integrity screen(bootloader unlocked, cannot be verified) --> Google loading screen --> Android recovery. This shows 2 options with the message, "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device". The two options are to try again or data reset.
I press try again, and the same bootloop ensues, sometimes getting to lineage loading logo, but then back to the same recovery error regardless. If I press the buttons(power and vol up), to go into recovery, it just shows an android with a warning sign above it, giving a message saying "Error!" on the bottom. My adb on the computer shows as unauthorized, so I don't know how I can fix this. Google has said the warranty is expired and cannot do anything to help. Ideas to fix? Thanks for help in advance!
Use power and volume down (not up) to go into Fastboot mode. Then flash the stock images

I tried that, but whenever I press any button, the phone is never turning completely off unless it dies. Even after that, it goes to the screen showing the secure boot integrity(Press power to continue/stop boot)
How can I completely shut off the device and restart it? And if system is messed up, will that leave my bootloader intact(I'm assuming so as boot is a different partition?)

Does holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds turn it off? Or if you do that does it appear to turn off and then restart?
If that fails to turn it off, try just holding power and volume down for 5 seconds, and if the screen flashes (goes off and then on) let go of the power button but keep holding volume down and hopefully it goes into Fastboot.
That should work unless you have a dodgy power or volume button. The bootloader is completely separate to the boot partition, and the fact that it's doing anything at all suggests that it's still functioning.
Only other option I can think of is trying ADB commands when it's in recovery mode, e.g. adb reboot bootloader. However, if you have the stock recovery, that may not work.

Thank You!!! It didn't work in the bootloop, so I had to let the phone drain its battery and shut itself off, then I was able to enter the bootloader and reinstall lineage. Thanks so much!

Is ur bootloader unlocked? If so, use twrp to perform a full wipe and install from twrp as well. Of you can't access trwp, and are in a bootloop, do the same thing I did: let the phone lose all it's battery, so it's outta the loop, connect the phone to a charger, then hold power and volume down. This should get you into bootloader mode where you can then use fastboot to flash twrp.

My bootloader is unlocked but phone not detected on pc only black screen nothing else.... Red light flashes whenever connect to charger
Ok Guys So I Shouldn't Have Done This But I Used Fastboot To Flash Recovery And I think I Did It Wrong. It Said "ok" And Finished And I Rebooted Phone It Resetted And Then Stuck On The Orange State Bootloader Message. I Do The Recovery Mode And Goes Black And Nothing Is Responsive For a While, Sometimes Longer Than Others. This Happens If I Start Phone Normal Or Try Fastboot Or Download.
Because Of My Mistake I Cannot Connect To Pc Software And Im Not Sure Of What I Can Do. I Feel Like Im Not Going To Like The Answer For This But I Got To Take The Blame For This.
Btw i Have A Samsung galaxy Note 20 Ultra Sm-N986u
I think your phone is hard bricked
so you can't get fastboot using volume up+power or via adb?
rescue from manufacturer site pos or just device not being recognised?
It isn't hard bricked it's just way of Samsung trying to make life of simple people more difficult, people who paid for Samsung phones lots of money.
To sort that screen issues what you can surely do is,
Simply press volup + voldown buttons at the same time, no matter if you're on that orange screen or whatever just press those those two buttons at the same time and keep pressing them while you connect your phone to pc. you will boot into download mode. Then flash stock firmware for your phone. After stock of flashed Reboot and start your phone, go to developer options see if oem unlock option is there if it is then oem unlock it if it is not then go back to settings manually change date to year ago, then go to updates disable auto update, connect to WiFi, and press on update several times untill window shows up saying no updates, then go to developer options you should see oem unlock, unlock it.
Then boot into download mode and make sure you have working copy of recovery.
And make sure you follow instructions of whoever recovery you installed on how to boot into recovery. I have S20 plus and too had troubles with it, and the only working recovery for my phone is twrp customised. To boot into it after flashing recovery from odin auto reboot disabled I pressed voldown and power, USB cable connected, then after screen goes off I changed from voldown to volup while kept pressing power button and cable connected. Orange screen with warning showed up for 5 sec I kept pressing and it bottled to twrp and then I was able to install custom rom beyond rom and while installing in aroma I was able ti choose option to remove orange screen.
That's it.
I ran into the same error. I mistakenly loaded twrp's recovery into userdata instead of ap section. The phone was stuck at the orange screen and nothing was happening whatever i pressed. I waited till the battery to dry out and with 0% battery, i directly connected to pc and was able to get into download mode. Then i flashed stock and everything is now back to normal.
