Old phone trying to get it to work. - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

So I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ Phone from my late father in law. Tried to reset it several months ago, but gave up due to FRP.
Now, I'm doing AR development and it works great on my iPhone, but I need to test it on android. So I figured id try to bypass the FRP and use it to test the apps.
I tried to bypass it, and i think I failed horribly. Instead of flashing "G955USQU3ARD1" to it, I instead flashed "G955USQU5ARF1" which was in same folder =/
The phone boots fine into the "Factory Binary" mode, and I can run my app on it, however it docent seem like ARCore works on it. Probably due to the Combination firm.
I tried to flash my "G955USQS3CRE2" firmware back, and now its giving me the whole "SW REV CHECK FAIL: Fused 5 > Binary 3" problem which i'm assuming means I need rev 5 of the firmware now?
Altho i'm not sure if i just bricked my phone or not. due to it saying its now a Verizon phone instead of at&t.
Long story short i'm trying to make sure that if I continue, I end up with a phone I can fully use, and preferably not a brick. Verifying that i'm doing this correctly.
Alot of sites just say "Run this magical EXE" to remove FRP which I figure is probably a scam.
Iv enabled debug, and oem, and done the whole "DM+ACM+ADB" set.
Model: SM-955U
Current Version: Verizon/dream2qltesq/dream2qltesq 7.0/nrd90m/fa70_g955usqu5arf1

FRP Lock ON, Secure Download Enabled, No Serial Number, Custom Boot Lock -HELP!

I have experience rom'ng Samsung phones and have never run into something this bad. My S6 Edge SM-G925P will not flash any stock/non-stock rom. Tried OI1/OH/OJ/OF, all fail Nand Write. Some suggest, split ROM in pieces and install separately in ODIN, but do not explain what that means and how to do it. When USB (official samsung cable) plugged in, phone gives Smart Switch error. I am attaching screenshots as these say it all. Please, any 'good' advice on how to attempt fixing this and getting ANY Android OS version installed? Am at wits end with this. Also, I can't get the SN because the dog ate the box and it's not on the back of the phone, plus phone won't boot other than download mode.
I was finally able to successfully install a Stock ROM and when it rebooted it showed the Samsung & Sprint logos and started charging. Currently at 40% and will try to boot the device shortly. I wanted to share that what helped was to use this specific ODIN version found at http://www.galaxys6edgeupdate.com/odin3-v3-10-6-download/ and OJ7 rom. Note the image on the website shows Odin with SM-G920/G925 where other ODINs don't show this. Confirmed! The phone rebooted and is now working. As a matter of fact, much of the data on it was maintained. Now just need to unlock it!
What files did you use.. I am on CUstom Binary and Status and get a nand fail on sboot.sh with a SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE 4 BINARY 3

Kennii,
I am experiencing the issues mentioned above. Can't flash with any of the stock roms using odin for my SM-G925P neither can come up with a serial number that works with smart switch.
I found a serial number for SM-G925I and the smart switch software goes to the next step. Do you have any serial number that goes with SM-G925P?

Is there a fix for this error yet?

S8 plus stuck in recovery with following message:
"Support SINGLE-SKU
Supported API: 3
dm-verity error
failed code : 0x02"
Is there a fix for this yet?
cheers
Matt
...? Elaborate?
What did you flash that lead to this?
dm-verity is what you usually get when you flash something incompatible, or when some insecure fw image is rejected.
Reflash the firmware using ODIN, and the latest FW package for your model / region. (in the AP box)
If you end up with DRK error afterwards, then you're boned. You need Samsung to help you out.
TL;DR: Careful when flashing stuff next time, always verify what you're flashing is for your device's model.
OP, did you found a solution to your problem? i'm asking because now i have the exact same problem as you do so i would really appreciate if you could tell me what you've done.

Took it back to Samsung and had to pay them £290 to fit a brand new board.
Out of warranty coz i rooted it.
only way out.
Gutted.

Guess the problem was that you didn't flash dm-verity bypass when u tried to root.

Wrong.
I did flash it, and it was rooted for about a week, but for some reason, i was bored, just potching around with my phone and decided to uncheck 'allow OEM' unlock, but forgot to re-check it before i restarted the phone...too late though...as Samsungs awesome security basically said...NO WAY...he's tinkering about with root triggered the efuse on the board and the ONLY way to fix that was a brand new board.
I'm not a newbie (hence my 371 thanks meter) when it comes to rooting phones....i've been on here since 2011 and rooted stacks of phones....HTC HD2, HTC Sensation, Desire HD, LG G2, LG G3, LG G4, HTC One-X, HTC One-x Plus, HTC Desire eye and a LOT more...Just made a silly mistake a week AFTER I rooted the phone.
I gotta be hnonest, I thought i'd miss root, but can hand on heart say....i'm not missing it one single bit.
My lovely Samsung still has 20 months warranty and i'm keeping it that way by not rooting.
LOVE my S8 Plus and to be honest, with Knox etc....I'd advise everyone not to root this EXPENSIVE beast of a phone!:good:
Matt
In some countries (like the EU ones) it is legal to modify the software on your phone, without voiding HW warranty, so if ur phone dies, and they can't prove that it is because the modification, they have to replace / repair it.

WRONG!
Hardware problems -> YES
Problems due to wrong use of your phone (i.e. root and phone won't do anything anymore): NO
And I do agree with Samsung: if you temper with the FW, and your phone doesn't do anything anymore -> IT'S YOUR OWN F...... FAULT ! ! !
Here's the nice big fat bill I got for repairing it.
Eeeuuurrreekkaaaaaa!
So after being presented with this error due to my own stupidity (trying to diagnose why MTP wasn't working on windows 10 and disabling Developer Options and not re-enabling OEM Unlock), I managed to get around it quite simply although at the cost of my data... BUT at least its not bricked.
The solution is simple;
1. Use SamFirm and download the latest firmware
2. Using Odin Load all the firmware options (BL, AP, CP and CSC) and in the options tab select all the checkboxes except "Flash Lock" and "T-Flash".
3. Press start and hold your breath.
Upon completion the phone may not reboot automatically so you will have to manually reboot using the Bixby, Volume Down and Power Buttons. Once rebooted you'll see it erasing the remaining userdata and finalising the re-partitioning process but a few minutes later you'll see the samsung logo and the welcome screen.
I hope this helps someone. Good Luck Peeps
I have the same problem guys but my odin isn't working the ID thing specifically the computer isn't recognising the phone.

Rooted SGS8+ wont boot up after restart:"only official released binaries are allowed"

Rooted SGS8+ wont boot up after restart:"only official released binaries are allowed"
Hello People,
I've rooted my SGS8+ almost a year ago. 1 week ago I had to send my phone to the service center because of a dead pixel in my screen.
The service center have replaced the screen and wiped unfortunately all the data.
Ofcourse I want to get rid of all the bloatware again and so I just tried to Root my phone. Everything went fine, I only forgot to place my simcard, which I placed after the root.
And this ofcourse asked me to reboot the phone which I did.
Since then my SGS8+ would not boot anymore and gives the message (above the samsung logo): "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed after reboot", in red text.
So I've looked arround on the internet and can't find really much about this message. Some "solutions" which for me don't work like:
I did download stock firmware from Sammobile, but if I'm trying to flash this firmware it will give me the message: "sw rev check fail device 4 binary 2"
I seriously dont know what to do and I really hope someone could explain me some..
I would like to know why this message even occurs, is it like Samsung trying to stop people from rooting?
And should I leave my phone now for 7 days? And will it boot up after?
I've tried to check other forums but nothing really helped or no real solution for me.
Hope I dont bother you guys.
Kinds regards,
Tom
The same thing has happened for me, though i don't get a fail message in Odin, more or less just that it has failed. Did you ever solve it?

If you took the update and installed. It probably updated the bootloader. If that happend you probably can't down grade. The bootloader can't be down graded and judgeing by what my phone did It won't let you flash the other parts of the rom If they don't match the bootloader. I have a tracfone sm-s767vl useing straight talk
Signing boot images for Android Verified Boot (AVB) [v8]
Various Android devices support Android Verified Boot (AVB). A part of this is more commonly known as dm-verity, which verifies system (and vendor) partition integrity. AVB can however also verify boot images, and stock firmwares generally...

[FIXED] Need Help. Galaxy S8 G950FD. Can't flash stock ROM.

[EDIT: SOLVED THE ISSUE BY TRYING THE LATEST FIRMWARE. THANKS ANYWAY!]
I got this phone from a friend, no clue what he's done to it, but I get a "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed"
So I downloaded the stock rom and tried flashing it through ODIN, but I keep getting errors, and it will not let me flash anything. There seems to be no bootloader too, if that's possible, as I can't enter it. I'm now stuck on a screen that tells me "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software"
I haven't rooted a phone or messed around with a phone at this level since the Oneplus One days. Extremely rusty, please help me out.
(also, the phone has G950FD on the back, but download mode claimed it's G950F. it's a dual sim phone. Is this normal?)
(apologies if I'm repeating a threads already dealt with. Can't seem to find threads related, I've forgotten my ways around this forum)
