Guy who installed the software update is it's still 4.2.2 and 16.0.B.2.6
9:30 this morning GMT (here in England). Notification came through of 197 update. Installed with no problems. Carries the usual suite of minor bug fixes and security updates. Enjoy.

Is this a beta update? I've just checked for an update on my Mate 9 and it says I'm on the current version.

I guess it'll trickle through to the rest of us. Are you using a handset supplied by 3?
Other than that, has anything changed?

No not a beta, official.
Is it safe to take this OTA if I'm rooted with magisk, decrypted and some stock apps uninstalled?
Flashed this yesterday here in the Netherlands.
I'm not noticing alot of differences between 194 and this one.
Battery life seems about the same? Can't really say that in 2 days.
For the rest it's pretty much the same old rock stable emui experience

the new security patches of Google seems to be the only chang between 194 and 197.
But as everybody can read, the v 198 seems to be coming soon too.
I got the v197 yesterday - dirty over (OTA) - no problems until now.
I live in Greece I have the l29c432 dual but I haven't receive the 197 yet !! Can anyone help me . I own the phone for two weeks and I don't know much about hauwei's it's updates policy etc...

you can find the update file (update.app B197) also in the I-Net if you don’t want to wait!
Search for : L29C432B197 update.hicloud.com download
For processing, read here too ->http://www.hard-reset.com/huawei-mate-9-hard-reset.html
section: firmware upgrade
Be careful!!! It is much safer to wait for OTA update!
Edit: i had read this -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/figure-how-to-flash-firmware-t3504781/page4
so my post seem to make no sense for Mate 9

No, that doesn't work. B197 is not an OFFLINE firmware, it's ONLINE only meaning you can't use it for DLOAD.
i know this procedure from my old Honor 7 and it has worked flawless there.
But after reading (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/figure-how-to-flash-firmware-t3504781/page4) it seems to make no sense for the mate 9. I had corrected my post now.
Sorry for the inconveniences.
BTW: how about this suggestion? -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72467865&postcount=54
i think, it should be possible to do. Maybe...
Well it's about time!
I updated to 197 and now the beta app says there is no beta tests for me to take part in.

Yep got 186 this morning. Just curious what are you hoping it'll fix. As I'm not having any issues...
Dark mode is not available as a toggle in pie. Still have to use a dark theme to compensate for this. The volume of the dual speakers is not as loud as in Oreo. Just these minor issues. Overall Pie is working well.

OK. I never needed or wanted a dark mode so I guess I'm not missing or wanting it.
I mentioned on another thread that to me the volume of pie is about the same as Oreo. Maybe it's just me.
Like you say, pie is working well with me too... [emoji1303]

I didn't need to. Everything is working fine. The only thing I had to do was sideload Google Play Store apk as the new firmware doesn't have it.

Seems OK for me.... But I have only had Pie for a couple of days. Too early to tell. But from using the phone it seems OK.
A few people on this forum have said that Pie is worse than Oreo for battery life. And speaker volume is quieter also....

I have so many issues with my phone. Apps are managed terribly. Battery drain and battery health, some apps don't work on wlan and notifications don't work for standard apps like messenger and outlook until I open the app. Basically the most important parts of a smartphone don't function properly.
with 186 I can't activate Google assistant with voice command 'ok google', spent 30 minutes still couldn't find where the setting was. Any help?
will the bootloader be locked again after the update?

Hi,
Please , how did you get to install emui 9?
firmware finder says my version of emui is not supported.
Also, mi just got my Honor note 10 4 days ago, dyou think that is why theres no OEM Unlock in the developer options?

Can anyone share the "What's New?" ?
My phone is a Korean variant (I'm not) and i have no idea what did the update change.
I do notice the double tap to switch between apps is slightly more fluid, after it was ruined by the initial update to Pie.
