Android monthly security update - Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) Questions & Answers

Hi I bought this phone in Poland without any carrier branding. It is December now and I have September security update on it... There is no new update available when I check it manually. Is it normal for new Samsung device!?

I guess that OTA updates probably don`t show up everywhere in the moment Samsung release them.
For downloads you can have a look here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-A750FN/TPL/ - I see that in Poland there are 6 operators so just click on the dropdown menu to chose your and see if it really have new update.

For example my carrier still doesn`t have new update.
But be advised - people in other countries that already got their OTA update report for bad problems like sudden restarts few times per day.
So maybe don`t make the update when you get it.
For me I have chose to install Package Disabler Pro and to disable the OTA updates.

I bought the phone in India i.e. INS, I got an OTA which included november patch and super slo-mo with some updated camera features, around november 15. Everything is working well after the update, but the battery runs out quickly (for eg if it gave me 8-7 hours screen time, now it gives 5-6 hours)

This phone was first released in India. Maybe this November update is only for Indian market. I do not thing that my carrier has anything to do with it cause my phone was bought unlocked in normal electronic store.

Got another one for stability updates around 100mb, so I guess the updates are probably for indian markets only. This one fixed the battery issues but it is still less than what I originally got(SOT)

I'v got this update today. This could be the second update you mentioned. If this is the case then Europe is getting updates after India which propably is the first market to test final releases. Samsung tend to do such things, I remember when Samsung galaxy s3 in Poland got first release of a new android before any other markets which infuriates geeks in US .

Oh man s3 was the **** back then, you made me weep. What you are saying is probably true because people here don't care about stability, they just want "regular updates" so that's probably why INS is getting so many updates (3 to be exact). Also, any update on development for our device?

I found one another new thing in camera software. With wide lens we got lens correction as a option.

Ulefone official website claims that Ulefone power 3 will have the update of Android 8.1 very soon in March, 2018 and some Chinese retailer, like Coolicool, has advertised in their home page too. Any ideas?
Customer Support told me it was planned for May (they said they need to wait for permission from Google...
does anybody know about root for current version?
i 'think' i got the bootloader unlocked via adb and unlock bootloader. the end result was bootloader unlocked but i didnt get to check it yet.
I really hope they fix the camera on the Oreo update, because it is really ****. I really love the rest of it, but the camera is so bad that it is a totally dealbreaker for me.
4 days left... how can it be May when they website still says March?
web site is missleading i guess they have writedown their estimation i guess.
Can you guys recommend me a case for Ulefone Power 3, the ones i could found are too cheap, anything like this? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wol...Mobile-Phone-Case-For-Huawei/32784085576.html
Thank you.
Ulefone Power 3 will get Android Oreo upgrade in June.
You can check official information here: https://www.ulefoneshop.com/blog/ulefone-power-3-official-android-oreo-8-update-faq/
Ulefone released another teaser video of the Power 3 and 3S for the Oreo 8.1 Update.
https://youtu.be/7L9RNZmFlZ8
It was published May 14th:
As we promised before, the 6080mAh Ulefone Power 3 is getting Android 8.1 Oreo update. After the beta testing stage is over, the Oreo system on the Power 3 is stable and works perfectly well. The all-new Oreo system combined with the Power 3’s high-end MTK6763 octa-core processor and 6080mAh battery capacity delivers a smoother, faster and more energy-efficient overall performance. The final version of Android Oreo will be rolled out via OTA as long as a new GMS certification is approved.
Currently waiting for their GMS certification with Google.
Well it is now nearly at the end of July and still have no Oreo update........
when this phone will get update 8.0?
Any news?
Hi guys,
My Ulefone Power 3 brought from China in Dec 2017, suddenly no longer wants to focus on the main camera.
I tried different applications for the camera and no one focus anymore.

Customization version?

Does anyone know how to find the customization for the 5 II? I know that the CDAs have been phased out, but I can't find anything in the service menu that looks like what's on XperiCheck:

Hello! Developer of XperiCheck.com here!
The CDA now seems to be an internal-only number which is used to represent the carrier name on a per-device level. I've formatted it so to have a like-for-like representation in XperiCheck.com and XperiFirm, as many people use the two together.
To correctly identify your particular version, the best you can currently do is manually match the name 'Customized EEA' with the GLOBALEEA-A2 text under the software version text. I'll work on it later this week to get 'GLOBALEEA-A2' or equivalent text on the site too, to make it much more obvious.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hey, thanks for the info! Now it makes me wonder why I'm still on the Aug security patch, as Customized EEA is supposed to be on the Oct patch... anyway, I'm looking forward to the update, you've done a great job with XperiCheck!

Yeah indeed, looks like there should be an update for your phone already out! Does a manual forced update check still say that there are no updates available?

General GALAXY WATCH 4 UPDATE TRACKER: NEW R8**XXU1DUK1 UPDATE RELEASED

Madhav Biradar | November 11, 2021 | Samsung Smartwatch | 1 Comment
Update (Nov 11): Another firmware is heading to the Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic models. The update has been dispatched to tackle known bugs and minor issues. The changelog for the watches read as ‘Application of stabilization code related to terminal operation’, simply means it has here to enhance overall quality. The firmware version R8**XXU1DUK1 is released in South Korea, and it has 93.55MB weight. Nothing has been found new in the firmware, nor any other major changes. It will soon reach other countries in the next few days.

LTE versions will always lag far behind because the code has to be checked against the mobile networks. I imagine that is a lot of additional red tape. We see the same thing with LTE vs. non-LTE tablets.
Got my update today. US non-LTE 46mm Classic. Update was a bit larger at 94.27 MB. Possibly related to Classic vs non-Classic?
I just got this update US BT.
So excited to wait for another 2 months to get another meh update! Yayy!
Update available for me, UK BT version.

New official htc U11 system update (2022) available! Has anyone updated already?

Hello everyone,
yesterday (January 4th 2022) I got a notification that there is a new system update (3.31.401.1) for the U11. The notification states system improvement. The size of the update is 403.64 MB. My current system software revision has the same number as this update (3.31.401.1) and is from 2019.
My mobile is running on stock firmware and is not rooted. I have not updated the phone.
Has anyone besides me got this notification and updated yet?
What will this update affect?
Will this update remove the discontinued preinstalled htc apps?

Wow I haven't been on xda in a minute ...I also came here to say I got the ota today as well. I pulled it and it shows 80 mb on my end. I'm rooted running stock. So I ain't flashing it just yet...I dropped it in my Dropbox if anyone wants to take a look at it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/32dmepvo4...7.617.2_r1-3.37.617.2_release_554614.zip?dl=0
Any idea why there is such a big difference in size of the update?
Mine shows 403.64 MB.
About time!
Somebody is finally talking of this update!
I've been googling since I first received the notification on january 2, but couldn't find any trace of this update on the internet, to the point I was getting very suspicious, especially after reading of the "system update malware" early this year.
I've yet to update my current U11 (and the notification has been pestering me since then) but I did update a second U11 I'm not using anymore due to a faulty sim slot.
Absolutely nothing changed. Still showing the same android version and build.
Mine is 3.37.617.2 IDK why everyone elses is different but here is the update

I don't have the phone to test this update. But Samsung is really doing commendable job with updating so many of its phone lineup to let user taste different flavours of Android.
I know hasty decisions may lead to buggy software but I would say let us give Samsung a chance to improvise the taste of Android.
It's even beating the very maker of Android in delivering software updates.
Soooo... I got the update today... and I must say that this definitely feels better optimized than Android 12, there's still a little lag here and there when playing a game and then switching to something else (multitasking) however this definitely feels better, great job!
How's the ui?lagging?
In the US, no update yet.
Stil laggy?
Might be slightly less laggy but I wiped it after the update. But still not great.

Now that it's possible in OneUI 5.0, try to disable RamPlus and feel the smoothness
God only knows when this'll be released for A53s in the US...
Just wait on it
It'll come
