My mix 2s was just updated to Miui 10.6.0 stable and added october security patch, as a few fixes but no mix 3 camera features can anyone truly confirm that Xiaomi is actually planning on porting them to global stable version? I've learned of updates to the beta version, is the stable version that behind in support, or are the beta versions having bugs and stability problems related to the new camera software? Thanks ?
beta are always less stable, thats why is called beta.
yes mix 3 camera feautures is one of the cool things i want..

i know what a beta is, but is the canera software buggy? Because the mix 3 camera firmware was ported a while ago, so i was expecting a stable version update by now ? or maybe i'm just to anxious ??

I'm also on 10.0.6 stable, don't know if is buggy or not, yes I'm also waiting for that upgrade ?
Anyone notice on 10.0.6... or maybe even pie for that matter.. my spotify and other apps don't stay open and consistently crash.. I have to use dual screen to keep it from closing after 3 songs.

Hello guys,
So many of us mi4i users have received the miui 8 stable ota update and some of us have downloaded the rom using the links in miui forum and xda forum.
I downloaded it using the bigota link. And flashed it using Twrp on 20th. I was on Global beta.
So after 2days of usual this is what i feel about the rom.
Let me divide it into simple points of pros nd cons.
Lets start with the cons.
1) Its still on 5.0.2 which is the biggest disappointment for many. Well i pretty much expected it to be as Global beta was also on 5.0.2
2) Camera focus issue is far from fixed.
3) Memory optimisation is better than the last miui stable but yet leaves a lot to be desired.
4) Some new features dont work sometimes. Like the scrolling screenshot doesnt work on all apps.
5) Still no voLTE support though the chipset supports it.
6) To me beta rom feels a lot better compared to the stable one. In every aspect.
Those were the major cons with the device.
Now coming to pros here. Nothing much special to expect.
1) New miui features are good as long as they work. I m not gonna write all the features in different points. Coz everyone alredy knws the new features.
2) From Miui 6 to now miui 8 xiaomi has really optimized the snapdragon 615 to the minimal heating experience.
3) The memory optimisation as i said in cons is improved but still a lot left to be done.
This is all i could find. Please feel free to write down below what you think about the New miui8. What you liked and disliked about this update.

One of the admins on the chinese MIUI forum has posted an update today: http://www.miui.com/thread-16120068-1-1.html
Big Thanks to user @ EraserKing for translating the whole thing!
Recently Xiaomi MIX 2s fans were curious about the progress of update of camera firmware and GPU driver, and I'd like to show you the status.
1. Xiaomi MIX 2S camera firmware update
Since the publish of weibo of Lei Jun, the developers of Xiaomi camera have started optimization. The finished part:
// Copied the 5 point
optimize camera focus stability,
optimize photo night brightness and outdoor dynamic range
optimization, outdoor photo, partial photo bias Color problem
Optimize the color effect of portrait mode in indoor/outdoor scenes
Optimized video details and noise
The optimizations above have rolled separately into dev version since June 4th, and after the upgrade to 8.7.3 internal test version and the following public test version, you can see the changelog. The rest few optimizations will be rolled into recent versions separately.
2. GPU driver update
Xiaomi has acknowledged and planned this. Will be pushed together with upgrading to Android P for MIX 2S. Please don't worry! And please be patient, keep waiting
PS. Upgrading to Android P for MIX 2S is under progress with high priority, and estimated to be finished porting and start internal test in September, then public test after 4-5 weeks.
Nice to see this. But can't wait for MIUI 10 Global before

They already said, they won't work on that in the future. They want to use miui skin in future builds. P developer builds are meant for developers, to give them the opportunity to develop on a pretty cheap flagship device.

Then we are back to zero, because the main reason for trebel project is faster updates but in this case updates will arrive fast yet get hold for implementing miui system skin.

This sucks. It really kills the idea behind it if they have to customize the whole UI again.
I really hope we get a dev here that makes and maintains a stable android 9 AOSP rom for this device when the RC comes out.
Qualcomm has already released the source AFAIK so I'm sure they are already getting ready for development.
As a Chinese, I would like to say, your translation is almost okay, but there're something to correct.

Hello! I have been using A2 Lite for about six months now. I liked Mi phones. But I think A2 Lite is not up to mark as per the price charged. Especially, Android One experience. It lacks lots of features as compared to other MI phones in this range running on MIUI.
What are your thoughts on this?

That's the point of this phone. Stock android with no features. That's why you do your research before buying something. You could've bought Redmi 6 Pro which is basically the same device with MIUI rom.

I did my research before buying the phone. The hardware specs are great of this phone, I'm talking about software features.

Some very basic features, like scheduling a SMS, adding speed dial number, double tap to wake etc. Its camera's hardware is good, but it's software is not.

So, why dont you try custom rom? Btw, sms scheduling works with non-native app. Dt2w - Iam using fingerprint unlocking, the fastest. And I dont think miui has this feature.

Redmi 5A and Note 4, both have Dt2w, and they both run MIUI.
I bought this phone specifically because it didn't have MIUI on it.
Stock Android, unlockable bootloader. It's the first phone I've had that gets security updates too.
I've had it for a few months now and I still love it.
MIUI suck, give so many features that u might never use.
Those features consume CPU and battery, while stock Android has lesser feature but any feature you want you can just get them from PlayStore.
My last Xiaomi phone (Mi 4i), became super laggy until cannot unlock the screen.
Turn out it was MIUI fault because it became normal again after I flashed it with custom ROM.
From my point of view it's the perfect Android terminal.
I only miss one feature from MIUI : Scheduled turn on and off :crying:

Try flight mode, almost zero consumption. -+1%/night
This phone absolutely lives up to its price point of the $159 I purchased two of them at. Great screen, great battery life, decent processor that can handle mostly everything except high end gaming, metal body, 2 of 3 American LTE bands for T-Mobile, FM radio, IR blaster, security updates monthly with Android One. MIUI is a dumpster fire and if you wanted MIUI you should've bought a Redmi.
It's a great phone.
I'm still wondering why so many people who prefer MIUI over stock android bought the A2 Lite instead of the Redmi 6 Pro which is even cheaper. Personally, I wouldn't even touch a MIUI phone with a pair of pliers.

I am one of the users who has the problem of slow wifi in 2.4ghz when the bt or gps is active. The problem arises from the month of December following the update to android P. From December to today Xiaomi has not produced any patch to solve this serious problem. For me this is a serious bug and leads me to say that it was not a good buy.

I flashed a custom rom on mine and have no such problem, actually no complains about the device. It's just hardware, with a proper OS on it (stock is never that) it works really good.
I bought this smartphone right after it was available version 4/64. I can tell is the best smartphone i never had, The best quality/price ratio, Battery last 9 hours sot, now you can install many custom rom, gcam makes photos great.... its fast and the display is great. Im totally satisfaited with this device. If you miss Miui than its you that bought the wrong models phone

Hi, i think almost everyone here heard about the upcoming MIUI 11 update (rolling out from middle October in China). I'm pretty excited about that, but i have a question i cannot answer myself. Will the MIUI 11 come with the new OS Android 10 or will it come just as it is without OS update? I'm asking that because of two things:
1) I've read somewhere that Xiaomi already confirmed Android 10 for our device.
2) Instead the MIUI 11 Beta, avaible in China, is actually based on Android Pie
So...what are your toughts about that? Feel free to answer!

this is true for beta version, (mi-Globe / EUROM)
yes im already on MIUI 11, but it still based on Android 9 no doubt.
but the introduction of new features makes you want to use this ROM more and more (personal opinion)
system-wide dark mode still misses some notif/popup windows (its still on light)
AoD new styles are great, very artistic
they said MiShare is faster, cant feel it. but its not slow. i think it feels the same as V10
and the other features were there just before we hit MIUI 11. I guess this would benefit the stable users more.
its actually not a night and day change. you kinda appreciate those little adjustments. icons, stuff like that. not much for themes tho
its one of those regular updates that you want to jump into. and yea its kinda pretty cool.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I'm sure i'll like it too! Just hope they'll push Android 10 before Android 11 lol. I'm okay with Pie, it works good and has a HUGE amount of apps and will support them for long time for sure. On the other hand, this device in Global version was born with Pie so...would be nice to see at least one major update. I've heard somewhere that Xiaomi launched Mi MIX 3 with Oreo in China so basically Android 10 would be the last OS update even in EU/Global version because of some strange thinking about their update politics

what's good about with Pie is that, stereo speaker mod is still working, and maybe it wont work on 10. still enjoying the mod
For now i'm not planning to mod my device, when support will be dripped, then il'll explore again the modding world

This is so true. I've learnt the lesson with Honor 8. They wanted to kill the device but after a lot of time and people's petition they finally released oreo. Now i'm at the first experience with Xiaomi but as i've read around they're used to update frequently their devices. Don't know so much abouth their policies about updates though, so we can say i'm just hoping that the "Two major updates" rule will be followed

It usually gets to a point when a device is dead unless community keeps it alive. And that is awesome. I actually choose my devices partly attending to their development support. I still have my old hammerhead, 5 or 6 years on, and it is running nice pie roms and surely some 10's will come. Last google firmware is marshmallow. That is really cool
Still, of course it is good and nice that a newish devices keeps being updated by OM.
In my case, more than android version I wish xiaomi updated kernel source, but that is way too far fetched I'm afraid.
Right now I'm using MIUI 11 9.10.11 beta version and it's based on Android 10. I'm on the MIX 3 Android 10 close beta group and get updated everyday. This rom is quite stable and the only bug I found is the incorrect display of RAM which has no influence on my daily using. Magisk worked perfectly and I got 68HZ display so smooth XD.

Thamk you for the fedback, hope to see Android 10 also in stable release (should be avaible between 22-31 October)!
For some reason I decided to check the Pixel Experience ROM's website and found out it's available for the 1, 5, and 10. Is anyone using this? How does the fingerprint scanner work?
https://download.pixelexperience.org/devices
Dammit i just went back to stock software and locked bootloader. Eagerly waiting one someone's review!
I have a Poco F1 with Pixel Experience 10 installed. The ROM is a lot more responsive than MIUI. My last Xperia device was the X Performance F8132 and last time I installed a Pixel based ROM before ditching it. To compare the experience, Pixel ROMs really do well. It can be used as daily drivers
