Hi all,
Can I use the Xposed Framework with stock kernel?
Currenlty, I'm using franco r29 and since v.24 I got 2 random reboots and one phone freeze.
Wishing to keep Xposed functionality but reverting to stock kernel.
Thanks.
Hi,
Yes you can use Xposed framework with stock kernel, it has nothing to do to with the kernel (unless you use a specific Xposed module related to CPU stuff if there is, maybe here).
As you can see there is some hard reboot issue with the kernel for now...
I actually wasn't following the Franco kernel thread... I'm just updating when his app notifies on an update
Can I please confirm with you that the stock kernel is:
1. Extracted from hammerhead-kot49h-factory-02006b99.tar --> image-hammerhead-kot49h.zip?
2. That the boot.img is actually the kernel file and is 8,835,072 bytes (Size on Disk)?
Thanks!
Re,
Yes the kernel is the boot.img... so it seems good.
Or take a look here also for the stock kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518816 (4.4.1/4.4.2).
Works fine, just done it myself (obviously have to be rooted tho)
I just got my Xperia Z5 (E6603) and when I installed Xposed I got boot loops. I managed to fix this by removing xposed.
My phone has unlocked bootloader, is rooted and has TWRP. I'm running android 6.0.1 and androplus kernel 3.10.84-v31 on a stock rom 32.2.A.0.253
There is any version of Xposed that won't result in a bootloop? I've already tried version 83,85 and 87...
I'm running the 86 version, and I never had any issue
Which kernel and firmware version you're using? Stock rom? Could you send me the kernel you're using please?

I'm using the following and Xposed is working without issue on 32.2.A.0.305 for the E6653:
AndroPlus v41 - v41 should work with your firmware as well.
Material Design Xposed Installer - provides many more options for installing Xposed.
Systemless Xposed - you can flash this right from within the Material Design Xposed Installer I linked to above.
Thank you very much for answering. It seems the problem was some module or maybe a bad restore, since I restored the modules from a titanium backup. I deleted all modules and xposed and resintalled again from scratch and it worked.
Now I'm with the latest firmware, xposed and kernel and everything is working ok.
I'm unable to install franco kernel with magisk on stock marshmallow... I haven't tried this combination, does it actually work or I'm wasting my time?
If i install magisk first and then franco kernel then the rom boots but magisk manager doesn't open so can't get access to root,i tried supersu also but it gives me bootloop
Also if you can suggest other kernels that can be flashed on stock that Will be much helpful to me...
Thanks
Hey all,
I am rooted with Magisk 17.3 on global hardware and global ROM stock MIUI 10.2.2.0, but I cannot install any Magisk modules or flash Magisk ZIPs in TWRP. I know root works because I've edited system files and allowed a few apps root permissions. But when I try to install something with Magisk Manager (6.1.0 since 7.0.0 doesn't work < v18) I get this error: /data/adb/magisk_merge.img mount failed... abort or it tells me Magisk 17.x+ isn't installed. (I've tried the Magisk Mod Uninstaller, Youtube Vanced, and LKT). When I try to flash a Magisk ZIP in TWRP it gives me Error: 1
I did some searching and some people were getting this due to their filesystem being formatted as f2fs in the past, but I verified that the Mi Mix 3 uses EXT4 using DiskInfo.
Did I miss something during the rooting process? I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP in fastboot, flashed Magisk 17.3 in TWRP, and verified root was achieved with Rootchecker. The Magisk Manager app also says it's installed and passes SafetyNet. Anyone have any ideas?
Do you use a custom kernel?
Try the latest Magisk canary build and see if that works

No it is the stock kernel that came with the MIUI 10.2.2.0 global build. Should I be using one?
Quick update: I am able to install some modules now by downloading them in Magisk, then booting to TWRP and flashing the ZIP there. I was able to get Magisk Mod Uninstaller (mm) and LKT to run for example using this method. YouTube Vanced still gives me the Error: 1 when I do this however.
The try a custom kernel, had the same problems with any modifications to the system with stock kernel.
As far as I know there are only two kernels atm, friendly fire and androplus.
Most of user facing problem with lineage latest build as it's not booting and goes to rescue party. So, here is the tricks to get rid of this problem.
What causing boot problem?
The problem is not with rom. Rom is fine. If you flash only the rom then its booted. The problem is with latest gapps. Plz try to avoid the latest opengapps build for proper boot.
Fix
Download the old version of gapps or download this zip and flash with the latest lineage build and enjoy.
No problem with Magisk 19.3 or 19.4
