Okay, so last night I charged my phone to 100%, went out and listened to some music on the road with a bluetooth headphone for about an hour. When I got off my car, my phone had 65% of charge left. (Didn't do anything besides music). Suddenly after 10 minutes, my phone shut itself off with a message saying, "Battery is empty, phone will shutdown in 30 seconds." Despite that message, I turned my phone on and it had 40% charge left which got me through like half an hour before it died again.
So, what should I do now?
Change your battery pal. I had the same issue and changing the battery fixed it.
I had similar issue with previous phone, when wear it in outer pocket during winter and phone get too cold it shut down and thinks that batery is drained.

So for several weeks I had that - my phone heated up very fast, and very hot, in fact, even when charging the battery would deplete if my phone was in use (but if I left it on low power usage it's battery precent did go up). The battery is fixed.
A few minutes ago, I was on 1%, which happens to me a lot, I watch youtube videos, my battery goes below 15%, and I connect my phone so it charges, but the battery keeps emptying until it shuts down (it says 0% as it's shutting down) and then it starts charging "turned off" from "0%". So this time, my phone didn't get into charging mode, when I tried to turn it on, it didn't even give me the indication that my battery is too low to start android.
Right now it is unplugged, turned off. I'm about to sleep, should I leave it plugged for the night or let it stay unplugged? Is my phone hard bricked? It shows no signs of anything. (I'm on my laptop).
I did switch ROMs, long ago, but that didn't cause any problems, the battery problems were from almost the first week (when I still used the original ROM), but it doesn't make sense to me that it suddenly hard bricks when it's battery says to reach 0%. When it shutted down it turned off by android, not instantly (it turned off as if you would shut it down from the power menu), so I wasn't worried.
So today i went out and bought a lg urbane smart watch.
Initially when i unpacked it, the battery showed 100%, dropping to 94% after I've been playing around with it for an hour maybe.
Then all of a sudden, the screen went black and i couldn't get it to power on.
I then put it in the charger, an after 1 hour and 20 minutes, it got to 2% :S
i figured it might be confused, due to not having run a full battery cycle yet, so i took the watch from the charger, and went to the movies.
Now the watch have been going for 4 hours on 2% battery (still going), so i thought i would do a factory reset to fix the problem.
But now the real problem appeared! The watch still thinks it got 2% power, which means i cannot pair it to my phone (less than 20%) and charging makes no difference at all :S
Will i have to bring the watch back, or is there a fix?
Edit: sorry i accidentally made this in the wrong section
Fixed it
I fixed the problem.
The symptoms:
Out of the box, the watch showed 100%, but before the battery dropped below 90% the watch went out.
After charging with the included charger for about an hour and a half, the watch showed 2%.
I unplugged the watch, and it lasted for hours, still showing 2%.
Steps i did to fix.
1. I factory reset the watch, resulting in a "brick" still showing 2% battery, and it wouldnt let me pair the watch as it was beow 2%.
2. I left the watch in a 2amp charger for about an hour.
3. The watch showed 100%, and is now working as expected, dropping maybe 4% an hour with full brightness and always on (and me playing with it abit ).
My conclusion was, that once the watch actually reached a 100%, the charger might have sent a "charging done" signal to the watch, telling it that the battery is at 100%.
Hope this helps someone else!
Probably this thread would be way more interesting if it would have been posted in the correct forum area...
Yea, i posted it here by accident :silly:
Maybe someone can help me move it?
According to the battery usage screen, about 15% of the battery has been used. And yet, it's in freefall. At 34% I got a low battery warning saying the battery would only last another three hours, even though it was dropping about 1% a minute.
Just randomly happened today. Left it unplugged overnight with Sleep as Android running, woke up to about 70% battery, started browsing on Chrome and Talon for Twitter, and 15 minutes later I had 20% battery. Plugged it in, got it back up to 75%, had to go out. Felt it get hot, checked, saw it was still dropping dramatically. Turned it off, left it to cool, turned it back on, and it continued dropping.
I had it turned off for a while to cool down after I'd plugged it in, as well.
Battery Usage does list Sleep as using 22% battery, but that's since the last full charge so I assume includes what it did overnight, which jives with having a percentage in the 70s when I awoke. Talon, Chrome, Facebook, TiBu, and a couple of other apps are listed as using 1-2% of the battery. That's it.
WTF is going on?

I think the battery might need to be replaced...after I charged my phone to 100% and then reboot, it will show 69% or 70% after the reboot -_-|. Also when the battery % drops down below 50%, my phone could switch off anytime - and then when I switch it on again, the battery is like 1%. I am using this phone as a backup just to receive messages so I don't mind it too much. If you use it as a main phone maybe it is time to upgrade to a newer model...the battery on regular Pixels were not so good even when new...
When the phone is off charge it to 100% then use it until it dies completly, then try to start it couple of times(it should just show a battery low icon or turn off while booting). Then charge it to 100% again while turned off.
This should pretty much reset the electronics in the phone. If it still does it replace the battery.
P.S.: Also look at the phone from the sides to see if you notice any glass poping (just in case the battery has started to expand)
Hey fourm, sorry for the long read but if anyone is technically savvy with batteries or voltages/electrical components please read! this might not be specific to a Fold but any device may suffer from what my device is suffering from.
I have recently had issues with my Galaxy Fold Z2 and it unexpectedly dropping to 0% charge, the first time this happened yesterday i was in an application and was switching from the larger display into the smaller one, upon closing the display the phone shut down and i wasn't able to get anylife out of the phone except a vibration when holding the power button, but nothing on the screen. I had about 35% battery at the time but all of a sudden it was at 0, after putting it on the charger it spring back into life. Today however i experienced an even worse problem... My battery was around 55% and i was connecting my phone to my cars bluetooth and importing contacts to the cars console, suddenly the battery went from 55% down to 9% instantly! i was shocked and took a screenshot of the battery graph showing its gradual decline from 100% to 55% but not to 9% to highlight the sudden drop, the battery status on the top of the notification bar was showing 9% all of a sudden but the graph wasnt just to actually see the drop! after that drop in battery it only took about a 30 seconds for that 9% of battery to jump down to 1% again in an instant fashion, following this only a few seconds later it shut down.I was thinking it could just be a dodgy battery for whatever reason but after trying to charge my phone after this sudden crash from 55%-9%-Flat i was unable to charge it up. The phone would signify that it was charging but not giving me a percentage, it would show the charging animation (the animation you get when phone is off and charging) but would only last for around 3-5 seconds before shutting off again and showing the charging icon again, and then shutting off again and rinse and repeat on a loop without charging but attempting too and resetting every few seconds! So for about an hour i couldnt get it to boot/charger properly and i almost gave up, but i decided to try a different charger, i was using the 25w supplied charger but i switched to a 15w older one and the phone ran the charge animation again however this time it identified the battery was charged at 55% rather that it not showing any charge level and resetting and trying again as it did before, this time it went right to 55% and from here the phone booted up and is working normally again!
Im really not sure whats wrong, im starting a process to send the phone back but i really wish to know whats wrong with my device! if anyone has any clue to this strange behaviour please let me know!

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Questions & Answers
Last night after a couple of hours playing game, i fall asleep accidentally with my game still running.
When i woke up, i saw my phone turn off. I charging my phone then.
When i plug in the cable, the phone start charging at 5%. As for my experience usually when battery drop, it start charging at 0%.
So, it make me think that my phone turn off automatically when battery capacity drop below 5%.
I don't have complain about it. Instead, its a great feature for me who have bad habit.
But i still haven't found how to setting it up.
I want to setting it so my phone will turn off after battery capacity below 10%, not 5%.
So any solution to do that?
