All of my previous mobile phones included 3.5mm headphone jacks. For airline travel I use my Bose 25's. At the gym, some cheap ear buds. That "converter" seems like it will be the first thing to go missing and a hassle to use. Bluetooth would be great, except for keeping the headphone charged. I'm looking for some inexpensive ear buds I can keep in the car and take into the gym with me.
Does anyone have experience with inexpensive USB C headphones that definitely work with this phone?
Pixel earbuds have been a solid choice for $30
Sony MDR EX650AP
Outstanding
JBL makes "Aware-C" which has a USB-C port. They are noise-cancelling and mostly what I use on airplanes at this point....even with devices that have headphone jacks (and USB-C ports).
Xiaomi Mi Dual Driver works perfect.
Im using Sony SBH24 and XPeria Ear - many years - happy a lot...period
Trying find MW600 but no luck for now

hey guys just lost my note 4 samsung headphone that i was very happy with. what kind of headphones are you guys using and where are you guys getting them from. definitely not trying to break the bank
Klipsch S4A (II) because I read on What hifi that they have a good performance / price ratio. After almost 4 years of daily use and abuse still working perfectly.
I use Xiaomi Piston 2.0, cheap and they do the job.

As an IEM I'm using the Ultimate Ears UE900, On Ear Beyerdynamic dt1350 and at home Beyerdynamic T90.
Both UE900 and dt1350 I'm using with Viper4Android and headphone correction filters
Been running my Shure 215s for a few months now. Fantastic IEMs with detachable cords and a nice warranty. Can go wrong for $100.

There're two models. I have second version which is better. (less likely to break the cables)
For over-ear headphones I'd use my current (albeit pricey pair)- Sony MDR 1RNC
Alternatively for in-ear headphones, try Sennheiser Momentum IN Ear earphones- they're fantastic and you can get them with an in-line mic.
Just make sure you buy the ones specifically for Android as there is also a pair compatible with Apple in line controls.

First, do you mean Headphone or Earphone?
If you mean Earphone, do you need inline remote?
If you need the remote, Samsung's OEM Earphone is quite good.
Earphone
Budget : Mid-Hi
Sony Earphones is great, just browse online for your preferred price/quality ratio.
Philips Earphone. Also browse online for price/quality ratio
Sennheiser Earphones
Headphones
Budget : Hi
Sony MDR-10R (with inline remote)
Sony MDR-1R (with inline remote)
Sony MDR-1A (with inline remote)
Sony MDR-1RBT (Bluetooth with remote)
Sony MDR-1ABT (Bluetooth with remote)
Philips Fidelio Series
Sennheiser Momentum Series
Logitech Ultimate Ears Series
I'm using Sony MDR-1ABT for now & it costs around USD400.
I get it from an online shop in my country.
I choose Sony MDR-1ABT because :
It has great battery life, around 30 hours of nonstop music play
It has a great audio quality
It has cable option
It support High Fidelity / High Definition audio (24Bit 194KHz) through cable
It support near HiFi quality through Bluetooth
Great look
Comfortable Earpad for long time usage
Can be used for answering phone
It has NFC for quick connect
Battery can be replaced if it's broken (non user replaceable though, but I can do that )

I'm currently using a pair of Ausdom earphones. I used to hunt good quality earphones at cheap price from SlickDeals.
When on the road, I need something reasonable in every aspect, reasonable in price and performance. The earphones that meet those criteria for me are Sony MH-1 and Xiaomi Pistons 2.1. The Sonys are a little more bassy, but the older, cheaper models (the MH-1Cs I think) need a OMTP to CTIA adaptor (dirt cheap) to work correctly. The Xiaomi pistons are incredibly beautiful to me, have great feel and built quality and they are equally cheap.
When at home, I use the Nokia WH-930 by Monster, good enough for me.
Here is the king of low budget earphones : https://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=8320
They are $5 right now and according to several tests, you will hardly find anything better for less than $30.
I am using the stock ones and they're quite good.
I find the stock ones pure garbage. Using shure se215.
I have been using the new Vmoda wireless. Awesome bluetooth headset!!
http://v-moda.com/crossfade-wireless/
RE-400 by HiFi-man.
About $100 CAD and sound amazing.
Just brought Aukey Bluetooth 4.1 earbuds. Good sound quality and nice texture. Now £12.99 with code. You could find the code on the amazon product page.

I Use JBL J33 with my Enyos Note 4. Didn't like the way the original ones sound.
Im loving the music and have so much headphone at the same time but the best is the samsung level over ( i have beats solo 2 and studio but thease are worst so much aspect)
Hello fellow 6p users.. I'm thinking of upgrading either my Xiaomi Piston 3 or my AKG 518 headphones to something at the range of around 100€ .
But given the not so great audio quality of the 6p ,i was wondering if it's actually worth it.
I would be very grateful If you could advise me with some solid choices, I'm thinking at the moment the Momentum Sennheiser, either IEM or Over air.. Something with 3 buttons (play/pause and volume control and inline mic) that actually work.
Over air will not be that good, all the air will distort the audio
on a serious note Im using Shure SE215 with mine. as you know audio on 6p isnt great, Viper Audio is a must if you are serious about audio. Im using a headphone amp as well
Shot in the dark but I have these and loe them. Everyone that listens to them has been impressed with the quality.

I'm not sure if this is on topic enough but I've noticed Bluetooth overall is very subpar and can be prone to interference (frequent cut outs when the phone's in my pocket or if I make a very short trip to the next room). This mainly applies to my headphones which have worked fine on several other devices. Of course this would be one of the only times I keep it in my pocket--when using headphones cutting grass, walking, etc.
I'm using viper. The volume and general sound quality are fine, not great be meets my standards. Only bring it up in case anyone happens to know how to improve it.
M50x for sure. Cant be beaten for the money
Wow,no sleep does bad things when typing,i clearly needed some air..
Back on subject, i would love to get M50x but i can't find a good deal either on Greece (my home country) or in Italy that I'm currently for vacation.. Cheapest i can find them is 150€ , which I'll might have ti spend in order to get a good over the air headset.. How is the build quality of the M50?
Thanks for the Bluetooth one,but i prefer wired headphones..
As for viper4android, i haven't rooted yet but i think i will soon in order to improve audio..

@tagari m50x are greatly built, just bought a pair not too long ago. great set of headphones.
I'm not sure if you can get these in Greece, but they are iem that have a built inline dac/amp. The caveat is that it doesn't use the 3.5mm audio jack. It uses the usb-c port, via an adaptor. I got them for my N5 and now use them with my N6p. Works well and you can boost the volume up to the point that it's uncomfortably loud...

Hey!
My phone model x720, so no earphone was included in the box. Instead paying 13-14 usd for original cdla earphones(I am going to buy it once their prices are abit down), i looked for a temporary solution and gave a try with these cheap usb type-c earphones in color white-gold. They are not bad at all. They have decent sound for their price, has even little bass out there. They are comfy and dont fall from the ears as well.

These are USB Type-C headphones, but they do not have CDLA support like the stock headphones.

They dont of course They are very cheap but has decent sound IMHO. I just wanted to share it for people who look for a cheap solution and doesnt care CDLA very much
Plus, you dont need usb type-c to 3.5 mm audio jack adapter anymore with this. No hassle. Just a recommendation.

already use " Baseus B51 USB Type C Stereo Earphone with Mic Headset Headphone" , same as Original leeco , in ear not confortable and hole ear pain.
I'm curious about the LeEco CDLA headphones, but don't know where to get legit, authentic ones. Maybe Banggood?
I wonder how comfy the LeEco ones are. They resemble EarPods, which I hate. I'm also incredibly curious about the sound quality
Now that the Pixel 2's ditched the headphone jack, I hope to see more USB-C headphones.
I have the LeEeco earphones that come with the Le Pro 3 and they are... alright as far as comfort is concerned. They fit my ears fine. I'm not an audiophile by any means but compared to the other headphones I've used in the past (typically stock ones that come with previous phones) the CDLA headphones sound much clearer and louder. I like them much more than using regular 3.5mm headphones with a type-C adapter on this phone.
That's good news. Looking forward to the future of USB-C 'phones. I just ordered a VOXLINK USB-C charging + audio adapter from Aliexpress which I'll review a bit here. Though... how safe is charging AND listening through one port? Especially with Benson Leung's USB-C warnings and all. I'm sooo nervous even though I'm using a legit Benson-approved cable and USB hub. Only the future will tell. They ditched the headphone jack too early, methinks, with USB-C and Bluetooth audio in their infancy right now.
I want to switch to USB-C audio permanently (since we're pretty stuck with it now lol) but what worries me is, what happens if you damage your USB-C port by using it so much? If you're using USB-C headphones and charging every day that's gonna wear the port out quickly. Why can't we just have 2 USB-C ports in a phone. I hate charging Bluetooth headphones so I'm stuck with USB-C if every OEM starts ditching the headphone jack. At least LeEco prepared me for it!
I'm ordering this, waiting to come

Hunt around and you'll find the LeEco CDLA earphones for around 10 USD inc postage (I did) but you need to be running EUI as they don't work well with non-EUI ROMs.

use material plastic ?
ear pain ?
I want a new headphone
Do you know if this:
Xiaomi-Mi-ANC-Type-C
Works on P20?
They should but...
Those are pretty expensive and not so good for that price. Second thing. Think about durability of the usbc port. It will be used much harder with the usbc phones and might broke much faster.
I think you should consider BT headphones like meizu ep51 or bt dongle like xiaomi bluetooth audio receiver.
Does anyone know a good adapters that is compatible with PH-1?. I won't buy the original one, It's crazy expensive with the shipping fee since I live in Thailand. I lost mine a week ago. now I'm using Airpods (which still have some connections problems)
or if you have a good USB C earphones that would be great too!
It would make my life easier if the product is from AliExpress
I miss my wired connection T_T

This is what I'm planning... Get the USB Type C headphones from OnePlus. (or Xiaomi or any brand)
This is the only middle path I can think of.
The type C to 3.5mm dongles don't work unless they have DAC.
The wireless ones are crazy expensive.
Whatever you buy - MAKE SURE IT HAS DAC.

Xiaomi dongle doesn't work, also Ugreen and every cheap dongle.
You need DAC in the dongle, you can buy Google and maybe OnePlus, I'm not sure about OnePlus
I have the Google USB C Pixel Buds. They sound good for the price and they fit well, although they don't block any outside sounds at all. The Google Assistant function works with the Essential Phone, too.
I have this one from aliexpress, quite decent for the price and works well except for the microphone which never worked for me.
I just got a Google USB-C headphone adapter, and I can confirm that it works perfectly with the Essential phone, too.
if you looking fro headset adapter for essential phone, I have 2 with DAC, am in Manila, Philippines
You know they now sell Bluetooth adapters for headphones?
Now you can take any regular 3.5mm headphones, plug them into an adapter (which is about the size of a regular volume control on Bluetooth headphones) and you have Bluetooth headphones.
ONN (Walmart in house brand) had this adapter for $10. It acts just like a normal Bluetooth headphone in that you charge the adapter, but you can use the adapter with any speaker or headphone you have so it is more convenient.
Basically they all look like this https://m.aliexpress.com/item/40001...4XzpLsTpr1hzjlQzwMbdAtr4y9y8FBGf1567841536673
I can confirm that the Libratone Q Adapt in-ear earphones work perfectly with the Essential Phone. They sound great, and I love the noise cancelling feature.

I bought the wally world adapter 'cause it was in clearance section for $6. It sucks. The audio is horrible. I am comparing it to other bluetooth adapters and 3.5mm port, same earbuds.
I highly recommend the best buy house brand insignia adapter. $30 the battery lasts around 7-8 hrs, and can be used while charging. I cant stress how good the audio is. I havent used it on a set of big cans, but it drives my earbuds loud and clear. Great bass, great mids, and great highs. I mostly listen to audio books, but in between, i'll fire up some dubstep or stoner rock, even brass quintets.
