Open YouTube and start playing your video. Swipe Back to previous screen in YouTube while video still playing minimized. Swipe down the notification panel and click the settings icon. Now swipe up to your home screen. YouTube should still be playing in PIP.

Anyway to move/drag subtitle around?
Screen Standby is perfect for that, I recommend you to have a mouse or any other device to control the device.
I that there is an option for turning on with sensors.
To move subtitle just tap the sub, keeping your finger down, move up or down.
Or you can go to
Settings, subtitles, layout, bottom margins

Hello all
Anyone know a way i can get lockscreen music controls to work.?
i use pocketcasst and deezer and none of them will have lock screen controls im sure its a Huawei thing.
as they work on all other phones.
Any help would be great with this thank you.
The only way i get them is to press pause on the headset and then they pop up.

Ohhh that actually explains why they was there the other day then went lol thanks for the reply mate.
It still remains a lousy way, im still hoping for a better way. The controls are off to, i need to press way more right that the buttons are. And sometimes the control buttons just move to the left under the album cover by them selfs.
SOLVED: latest post read here, full instructions...

Thank you so much this is really good news just a shame you have to root..
I keep holding out that Huawei will actually fix this.
I am using power amp app and I am able to get lockscreen music controls.
open your music app and then go to the notification tray , u can see your music controls there and then slowly slide it to the right, you will see a setting gear icon besides it , open that one and enable "display in the lock screen" option. ?

Nope didn't work plus already had them on but thank you
hatyrei ?
Spotify is whitelisted for me (by default, even changed the xml to com.spotify.music-2 as that's what it's named in /data/app) .... But it refuses to show on the lockscreen. UNTIL.... You play through a song, when it goes to the next song it appears and disappears 'til that song has played. Def a Huawei thing. I guess it's added "security". Notifications are on as well, and "display all on lockscreen".
Edit: actually it doesn't seem to obey the "display all notifications on lockscreen" setting as I just realized no notifications show at all.
(SOLVED) just disable the Smart Lock Screen Notification in face recognition setting.
As title says I can't get picture in picture mode to work with new gestures. Every time I swipe up (to go home) from YouTube Vanced app, background audio still plays, but PiP windows doesn't show up. Same with Netflix app, but playback pauses. Am I doing something wrong? I'm on OB6

Have you checked this settings in App info?
For the last couple days, whenever I do any action that would put MX Player in the background, the video has suddenly gone into Picture-in-Picture mode and started playing. This happens whenever I have a video up in the player, regardless of whether it's playing or paused, and whether background play is enabled or disabled.
This has happened when I've used the following "Dismiss App" actions:
- Swipe between apps
- Swipe to homepage
- View open apps
- Select different running app from notification menu
- Open full MX Player settings menu
- Open MX Player "About" page
Attached is my zipped bug report. I've also submitted this bug in an email. If there's something in the app settings that could explain this behaviour, I would like to know, because it's definitely not desirable to take up screen space and start playing when I've paused and tried to unfocus the player.
Just an update, this is still happening for me. The closest thing to a workaround is to disable PiP permissions in the settings. The app still tries to go to PiP every time I make it leave the foreground, resulting in a toast pop-up saying "MX Player needs Draw/Display over other apps permission to play the videos on the top of other apps."
Every time I return to the homepage from the app, it says that. If I enable that permission, it will always activate PiP mode when I'm trying to switch away. I haven't found any in-app setting that could be causing this.
As of 1.51.8 (ARMv8 NEON), the app is still going into PiP mode whenever I dismiss it. Even if my video's paused, going to my home screen will make the video appear in the corner and start playing if it has the Android permission to do so.
It should only do this when the PiP mode button is pressed, unless there's some new "automatic picture-in-picture" setting I've missed or something.
I just figured out the setting to disable this. Click on Menu > Local Player Settings > Player > Background/PiP mode and select Stop. The video will no longer go to PiP when you click/swipe for home while playback. If you want, you can manually select background play and/or PiP while playing the video using controls as usual.

Thank you!
The video starts playing when I hit PiP even if it was paused before, I'd prefer if it kept the video's state and just shrunk down the player, but it's manageable. Going to mark the thread as Resolved.
How can I tell MX Player to ALWAYS show the controls? Currently they are automatically vanishing after 3 seconds.
Can I somehow distinguish between the controls at the bottom and on the top?
When you play a video you go on the top right, you find 3 dots after that you go to display setting, on the bottom you find interface auto hide you must uncheck it.
Ok, it works - for the current video only.
When I proceed to the next or even loop the current video the controls are automatically hidden again.
Is there a way to keep the control visible until I exit MX Player?
It's always visible for me until i press in the middle than it's hide.
