I am trying to root my LG G3 D850 so that I can install Lineage OS. But nothing seems to be working.
The phone is recognized by my Windows 7 PC.
I have adb on my computer and it recognizes the phone if I issue "adb devices"
I tried stump root and it will not install. I have allowed unknown sources.
I have also tried purple drake and it recognizes the phone, reboots it, then the script closes with no messages or indication of what happened.
I also tried "LG One Click Root" by avicohh. It reboots the phone into Firmware Update mode but it never does anything after that. I have left the process running for at least 10 minutes and it never downloads anything and the phone Firmware Update screen shows 0%
I also tried Downloading Stump Root 1.2.0 and it displayed a message "Device is Patched. Sorry.
The phone is on Android 6.0, Build MRA58K
What is the easiest way to upgrade this to some Android Version 8 or similar ?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hello all. I am a relatively new member to XDA and I have actually posted this issue on the thread to from which I downloaded the custom ROM I'm running. I am using and LG G2 D800 running [ROM][5.0][CM12][UNOFFICIAL][ALL-VARIANTS] CyanogenMod 12.0 For The LG G2, which I installed about a month ago. I originally rooted my phone using towelroot and installed TWRP custom recovery 2.7.0.0. I installed 3 or 4 other custom ROMS, using just my phone, that I honestly had no idea how to root using a computer. Since, then I have learned and acquired the tools I need to root from my computer, and after trying for quite some time, was able to find drivers for my phone that allowed my computer to recognized it.
There are 2 main problems that arose about a day after installing this ROM.
Firstly, after I had installed all of the pertinent files needed to flash the above ROM, I attempted to install the beta version of SU that the thread related to the above ROM said was necessary to keep root. Well, that version did not install correctly, though the ROM did install and is working about as well as an experimental version of a ROM can....
Once the ROM had been running for about a day or so, I realized how buggy it was and decided that it would be smart to go back to a more stable ROM as Lollipop was just around the corner(Or at least a stable CM12).
So, I went to go back into my TWRP custom recovery to do a wipe then install another ROM that I had backed up. When I attempted to do this, I realized the 2nd BIG PROBLEM, my phone had stopped recognizing my internal sd card, so I was unable to view any Backups I had previously saved. So, I started researching and found the the adb shell code to get my phone to recognize my sd card, but when I tried to use the command to do so, I was given the reply that su(part of the command) could not be found. So, I posted again, and was told,"you need to re-root." Well, that is good and well, but I have tried every method I can find to root my phone from my PC, but they are all for LG G2 D800 running some lesser version of android, never 5.0....
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and oh yeah, I was able to get the new Beta super SU file pushed onto my phone and saved in the remaining space it does recognize, but I couldn't actually install it to give me SU priveleges again. Basically, if I can re-root, I can get my SD card back, do a full wipe, then install another more stable ROM ASAP>
Thanks again, so so very much. Please, Please help me get this phone working. I'm feeling more and more like a fool everyday knowing Im paying for a phone I can barely even use....
Happy Holidays,
Thad
Hi,
Asking in the rom thread is a good idea. If you don't find answers there, then you can ask for help in this dedicated help thread in your device section,

So you might be familiar with LG's newest budget phone the LG Lancet but I bet a lot of you haven't even heard of the phone. I had attempted to root the phone with kingroot and it worked perfectly. I then wanted to get SuperSU instead of kingroot for obvious reasons so I had downloaded an apk known as Super-Sume and after I had restarted my phone it would not boot into android 5.1., instead it was stuck in a bootloop and I had to factory reset. Now when I start the phone, it boots into the startup but it just says "Please wait while we prepare your phone" forever. I don't really know what to do since this phone is so uncommon. I mean, you can't even find a damn unboxing video on youtube! Again, this is the android version of the phone and not the windows version (obviously). I have access to a computer and I have an sd card in the phone if needed. I just need instructions on how I can possibly fix this phone since it's so hard to find any sort of stock rom for it or any information on it in general. Thanks

As says in the title, it seems to have bricked after rooting kingoroot, then using SuperSu Me to install SuperSu which seemed to work, but needed to reboot it said - then bam... Android is updating for like an hour, then the LG boot screen. from all i can tell, there is no way to flash this phone, I've attempted using the LG Mobile Tool, LG bridge, etc. Is there anyway possible to unbrick this thing or should I just go get a new phone? Im really stuck, been searching all day and cannot find a definitive answer anywhere. Thanks.

Good day to you all
so Ive got a problem here when trying to install custom ROM in my phone,
so I have my old phone LG g4( h815 EU Version)which are not used anymore and I thought of giving it a new life by wanting to use custom ROM (Lineage OS) and using the android orei(8.1)
So I've read here and there and decide to try it,so here's what I've done until my phone is finally bricked.
I managed to unlock the boot-loader of my phone officially using the LG set ups
then I managed to get into the TWRP Recovery
so after then I wipe the data and cache in my phone using TWRP, and the next thing I do is to install the LineAge os that Ive download right? ,the problem Is I zipped the Lineage OS files and put it into my Phone Internal Storage, so when I want to install the OS I Choose the "Install by Image" in TWRP and choose the "boot.img" and after that I reboot the phone because It seems it was stuck on TWRP loading screen. Then now my phone is stuck on the LG Boot screen with "bootloader unlocked " on top of the screen. I've tried to try the recovery mode but it just wont do anything, I cant do fastboot also because somehow even though connected with usb cable and installing other adb drivers the devices just wont be recognized, so now I am stuck in these booting screen with no way of getting out.
So my question is, is there any way I can either factory reset them or anything, I dont need to save any data as it was already factory unlocked before i tried this method and Ive saved all the data before, but is my phone still could be saved or there's nothing I could do with it and regard this as a very foolish experience because of my negligence, any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you very much
