Hi,
I'm on 9.0.2 pie with root, blue's park kernel and magisk.
I'm getting frequent camera freeze and only way to come back on focus is to force reboot.
How to clean install latest android pie build? Sorry if this is answered but I'm not finding a complete steps anywhere here.
Thanks
Hi,
Follow the guide from the 3rd post from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/awaited-android-pie-oxygenos-beta-t3831803. -> Instructions for downgrading from Android P Beta version to MP version.
You will go back to latest stable Oreo and this will wipe all your data. After that, you will receive OTA update for latest stable PIE.
Or you can simply do a factory reset from Setting. If you want to remove Magisk and TWRP, just install the latest 9.0.2 again through Local Upgrade.
Good luck.
Do you have TWRP installed?
I recently did the MSM Downloader refresh. Worked great.
Then I went to the 9.0.2 and have had 0 issues

Alright, then this is easy, and it will work fine if you are already running 9.0.2 (otherwise you have to worry about security patch level and I won't go into that here). Make sure you have OOS 9.0.2 full zip, latest TWRP installer (I used the new official TWRP), and Magisk (I used 17.3) on your internal memory. We will wipe all of this later, so make sure you follow along precisely or else you will have nothing there to install. If you don't fully follow what I mean by any of this, or if you have any questions about why, don't hesitate to ask before you do something you're not sure of.
Start in recovery:
> Wipe system, data, and cache > install ROM and TWRP > Reboot recovery
> Wipe system, data, and cache > install ROM and TWRP > Reboot recovery
(I didn't make a typo; you basically just done that twice but you now have a fresh install on both slots.)
> Install Magisk (if you want root) > Format data (the full wipe that requires confirmation) > reboot system

Can we skip that last format data part if we want to keep our data? Like keeping that data won't mess with the system anyway right?

sure you could skip it, but there is a ton of crap that android system likes to keep in you sdcard partition. I personally like to clear all of that junk when I'm going for a clean start. The op wanted a fresh start so I give him what I would do and I know works (especially if you're trying to squash bugs).
curious if this fixed your issue OP?
Have the same issue and it's driving me nuts.
All I have found on official forums is clearing camera cache (which doesn't work)
Have also seen people say that it persisted even after a factory reset
On the same set up as OP too

NOTE: This is for users who did the BigPart Repartitioning (probably for flashing a 4.4.2 ROM) on their Xoom and for any reason want to go back to normal.
What You Need:
-TWRP 2.6.3.0 touch recovery from @runandhide05
-TWRP 2.6.3.0 BigPart touch recovery from @runandhide05 (if you're reading this you should already have this installed no need to download)
-Your Favorite Standard Partition ROM
Instructions:
1. Reboot Into Recovery (You should have already installed TWRP2.6.3.0 BigPart)
2. Flash the non-BigPart TWRP 2.6.3.0 (Do not Reboot)
3. Tap the Home Icon
4. Wipe > Advanced > WIPE Davlik, System, Cache, Data and Internal Storage
5. Tap Home
6. Reboot into Recovery (Ignore NO OS and Ignore SuperSU)
7. Booting the nonBigPart Recovery will take a while just be patient.
8. Ignore the “Password” screen > Tap Home
9. Wipe > Format Data > Type “yes”
10. Wipe > Advanced > WIPE System and Cache
11. Tap Home
12. Reboot Into Recovery (Again Ignore No OS and SuperSU)
13. Mount > Sdcard, Cache, and Data should be checked; System should be unchecked. Tap the box next to System, make sure that it mounts without any errors, and then unchecked it again. If you've made it this far, you’re back to the standard partitions.
14. Now you can Flash your favorite Standard Partition ROM and corresponding GApps.

Still in 2020 I want t thank you for this great guide for reverting back to stock! I had my xoom laying around unused and want to give to someone, but the best thing is to have it in stock conditions.
Thanks!
It's 2022 and it is still useful. Thanks!
It's an ASUS Nexus 7 2012.
I installed 'lineage-15.1-20200706-UNOFFICIAL-grouper' and 'MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm-20180808-grouper' (is this the right file?) successively before rebooting while first wiping Dalvik/ART Cache, System, and Data.
It boots, but Gapps don't work. I managed to enter playstore but only once before it froze and since then, I can't enter it no more.
Here, they tell you to change filesystem from EXT4 to F2FS first and also to sideload the OS and Gapps instead of placing the zips in the root folder and installing from device. Does that make a difference?
see nothing is wrong or right it is just about compatibility use default instruction as much as possible
well regarding gapps flash it after setting up phone
Just make sure all the tools you've downloaded are compatible for your device.
Hi there,
after going through several threads, and trying for 5 days to get it to work I decided to open a new topic on my issue.
My goal is to flash PixelExperience for Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 [Perseus]. (I also tried [ROM] [11.0.0] [perseus] ArrowOS 11.0 [OFFICIAL] [NIGHTLIES] also with no luck) I think I am missing something since every time I try to flash it according to several descriptions (have stopped counting how often) I end up in a bootloop with the mi logo.
Here is what I do step by step in hopes that someone can show me where I am making a mistake / provide a working procedure:
A. Downloads (on my PC) and setup of PC
Magisk-v22.1.apk renamed to Magisk-v22.1.zip
miui_MIMIX3_V12.0.3.0.QEECNXM_b96755549d_10.0.zip from (here)
since Arrow and PE devs recommend this as a base for flashing their ROM´s. My Phone originally ran 12.0.2 EU. Flashing 12.0.3 works with no issues.
twrp-3.5.2_9-0-perseus.img which I flash
Custom Rom.zip (as described tried Arrow 11 and PE)
B. Step by step guide what I do:
1. Install Flash 12.0.3 Firmware, Enable Dev Mode, fastboot and flash twrp-3.5.2_9-0-perseus.img
2. Boot into TWRP
3. Wipe -> 1. Factory Reset -> 2. Format Data -> yes -> 3. Advanced Wipe (cache, system, vendor, data)
4. ADB-Sideload PixelExperience_perseus-11.0-20210408-0751-UNOFFICIAL.zip - also tried adb push to sd and then install - with same result
5. Wipe Format Data -> yes
6. ADB-Sideload Magisk-v22.1.zip
7. Bootloop - when I select reboot TWRP tells me no OS detected and it loops with the Mi logo.
I am sure I am missing something or messing something up (maybe in TWRP Wipes Step 3 or 5?) since either PE or Arrow work.
Any suggestion / help would be appreciated
Have a nice day
Solved it.

Okay, so as above. I modified my OnePlus 6 in summer 2019 when I bought it, and kept Lineage OS (unsure what version if it matters); I modified the bootloader, installed TWRP Blue_Spark for recovery and rooted using magisk. I made a nandroid backup but it was on the sd card partition and I've at some point wiped it.
Again, no custom rom. I only know because I thankfully made a text file explaining what I did. I used this thread.

If you click the text file copied into the spoiler you can see pretty much exactly what I did, if you want:

Models: A6000 (Asian model which I have), A6003 (which is for EU, where I live).
Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified device!
If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash a full OTA that it applies to
and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery.
Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device.
You can return to a usable state by flashing full zips in recovery.

Used this guide to:
1. unlock OnePlus 6 Bootloader
2. flash TWRP as a custom recovery (I used Blu_Spark TWRP as it had better backup options)
3. Magisk root (unrooter)
If you need to run CMD from a directory then check file:
How to open CMD command window in specific directory -Noted.txt
The versions of TWRP Blu_Spark I used were:
twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_op6.img
twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_op6.zip
Always make sure you use latest version, but make sure you're updated to the latest oxygenOS
NANDROID Backup (from https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3792643):
Create:
1. Boot into TWRP Recovery .
2. Go to Backup Menu and select all the listed partitions.
3. Name the Backup if needed (Optional)
4. Swipe to take Backup.
This proces should take 5 to 7 minutes depending upon the size of data.
5. Reboot System when done.
Your Nandroid will be stored in the Backup Folder inside TWRP Folder /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS
NANDROID RESTORE:
1. Boot into TWRP Recovery
2. Go to Restore Menu and select the backup you want to restore.
3. Select the partitions you want to restore.
4. Swipe to Restore. The process will take 5 to 7 minutes.
5. Reboot system once done
Found this, not sure if its relevant to OTA updates deleting twrp (blu_spark version, FTR)
Just to add a note to you for next ota.
After ota is installed go to magisk manager
Press download
Search for twrp a/b
Install (don't reboot)
Now go to main screen and press install
Choose to inactive slot (after ota)
This way you keep both twrp and root
My problems (potentially): I was getting OTA lineage updates and people said they were actually fine with this and wouldn't cause a problem, and they certainly seemed to be fine for a time.
However, at some point over two years my recovery has been reverted to presumably stock recovery and TWRP is missing. I'm not 100% sure how this happened but I'm assuming it was when I installed Android 10 OTA, or potentially did some kind of reset. I'm now unsure if I can simply install TWRP without some kind of problem.
Any Insite into what likely caused that and if it could be problematic would be appreciated. It's definitely gone. I didn't install to both A/B.
My root also stopped working as I can remember substratum themes breaking permanantely after an update, but they just became disabled and substratum remained benign and installed. I'm assuming this was with the Android 10 update, or when I lost TWRP (?) - but I'm not sure how I installed Magisk as I don't mention in the instructions file I found in the spoiler. According to the thread:
Gaining Root Access
You can gain root by either flashing via recovery a pre-rooted custom rom, or flashing a zip containing the SuperSU binaries or by Flashing Magisk Zip for a system less root. A custom recovery is necessary to do this.

My bootloader remains unlocked and I have USB debugging enabled.
TLDR: I was just wondering whether my Android version 10.3.10, the fact my TWRP recovery has been reset, my magisk root is gone and I'm not sure if it persists, means that I might encounter problems installing TWRP, Magisk and custom ROMS.
Will they be persistent and problematic somewhere or are they gone?
Should I unlock my bootloader again when request, or skip that step. Would it matter?
Also any reccomendations on a decent custom ROM for the OnePlus 6? I'm ideally looking for security/privacy and to move away from google as much as possible. I've always flashed ROMS and loved LineageOS, or moreso, CyanogenMod on Nugget iirc was the peak for me, but I never bothered on this phone for some reason.
I'm sick of feeling my data is being stolen, whether that be anaytics, physically, etc etc. It seems like it's being pepetually eroded further and further and I want to feel my phone is free and cool like I used to.
Hi there
NOTE: please follow this steps one by one.
Disclaimer: i am not responsible if your device got bricked, i use this method for my samsung galaxy A20e and it works.
well when i wanted to flash a custom rom for the first time, i didn't find any steps to follow, i just picked out the rom then flash it via twrp and rebooted and that was a big mistake, the rom booted but i wasn't able to do anything, so today you will see the right way to flash .
First of all, you need to have twrp installed.
then download the rom version that you want for example, i used this rom for my device: https://sourceforge.net/projects/derpfest/files/a20e/
next put the file that you have downloaded in an sdcard.
then reboot to recovery, you can do it by powering off your phone then hold the volume up and power keys until you see twrp's logo.
click wipe option, the advanced, after that check all the partitions there except sdcard and usb-otg (and vendor if it is not included), for my device i wiped system, vendor, data, cache, dalvik and cache, but it may be different for you, now swipe to the right to confirm wiping.
when the wiping process has been finished, exit advanced wipe and choose format data, you will be asked if you are sure, type yes.
go back to the main twrp window, then select flash, click select storage and choose sdcard(or usb-otg if you are using it), then you will see the zip file and install it.
reboot and that's it !! it is depending on your phone's speed now, just be patience.
enjoy your time in that rom, cause you will change it soon *__*.
