I have no idea. You have to test it.
Any update on this guys?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
So I would really like to test this but if it bricks my tablet without a backup it will be almost impossible to fix it? Does lg offer a restore file or KDZ I think it may be called. God's Blessing, Ron.
Need Information Before Testing
I am willing to test your TWRP, but I would like a little information first.
Can the twrp be installed with only an unlocked bootloader and NO ROOT?
The Hard Reset LG G Pad IV 8.0 FHD LTE can be found here -> https://www.hardreset.info/devices/lg/lg-g-pad-iv-80-fhd-lte/hardreset/first-method/
Will I be able to use the Hard Reset to boot into recovery?
I want to know how to boot into recovery after twrp is installed.

I installed TWRP today on an v530 with an unlocked the bootloader and NO ROOT. I could not boot into recovery. I tried the command " fastboot reboot recovery.
After the fastboot reboot recovery command I got an error screen with the android ico an the message " no command" The screen hung for about two minutes and then the v530 rebooted.
I have now lock the bootloader and did a factory reset. If you could get this twrp for v530 working it would make rooting of a v530 safer and easier.
if you do a revision of twrp I would be happy to test it.
Thank you for your hard work.

Hi. The same thing happened to my LG K10 when we ported TWRP for it. I will recollect what we had done and I will post additional instructions here for booting TWRP properly.

This second test was on a rooted V530.
I Flashed the TWRP as follows:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
I then tried the Hard Reset Keys as shown above. You should note that no factory reset is possible if the bootloader is unlocked. Anyway I could not boot into TWRP using the hard reset keys as noted above.
I also installed the Quick Reboot App, which I am using on other rooted devices that I have, Quick Reboot would not boot into TWRP on the V530.
Lastly I tried:
adb reboot recovery
I will be happy to try again if there is a revision.

I want to add some information: The Quick Reboot (App Requires Root) works on other rooted devices that I have TWRP installed on. If I select the boot into Recovery Option from the boot menu, it boot into TWRP.
The app is on google play at -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antaresone.quickreboot&hl=en_US
The use of this app is a great way of testing booting into TWRP on rooted device.
Also please note that a factory reset is not possible on a V530 with a unlocked bootloader. If you want to unroot a V530 or want to do a factory reset, just lock the bootloader and when you reboot the V530 does a factory reset.
This actually is a nice feature because it allows you to do a lot of testing without doing any harm to your V530.
I want be clear about what happens when you use the hard reset key combo. The factory reset option does appear, but there is NO TWRP option.
If you select factory reset option the tablet will rebooted, but will not do a factory reset with a locked bootloader.
Again, NO TWRP is shown as an option from the hard reset key combination screen.

No you will not have "Boot into TWRP" option. Generally, when you press those hard reset key combo you will see a screen with two buttons.
When you reach this step, just select "Yes". I know the device won't reset because of boot loader unlock but it doesn't matter.

twrpV530 Test
Tested on: LG G Pad V530 T-Mobile Tablet with UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER and NO ROOT.
Test-1) I tried to download the recovery.img to the device.
adb boot "c:\adb\recovery.img
This method works with other devices, but here got FAILED (remote: command unknown) (See Fig-1)
Test-2 I renamed recovery.img to trwp530.img and tried
adb boot "c:\adb\twrp530.img
I again got the FAILED (remote: command unknown) (see Fig-2)
Test-3 I use fastboot to flash the recovery
fastboot flash recovery twrp530.img
I got a success screen (See Fig-3)
Test-4 I used the Power and Volume Keys try and get to TWRP
There was no twrp in the menu. After using the power and volume keys the tablet
did a factory reset.
Test-5 With an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER I flashed the recovery img then:
adb reboot recovery
This command got BOT NO command Icon screen (See Fig-4)
Test-6 I used another device I have which already has twrp installed on it.
adb reboot recovery
The above command took me into twrp
The last thing I did was to get the logcat.txt
I have uploaded a file (link below) which has the logcat.txt and the screen shots Fig-1 thur Fig-4
https://www.mediafire.com/file/v3cpk62cc7dnl14/twrp_V530.7z/file
I hope this helps.

I think I have figured out the problem. The stock recovery is replacing twrp.
I have searched XDA and I have found that this has happen with other devices.
The BOT No command Icon is actually from the stock recovery.
Also if I use the power and volume keys I only get the stock factory reset.
Twrp does not appear anywhere in the reset menu using the power and volume keys.
The only work around that I found on XDA was to flash the device with a custom rom which allowed TWRP to replace the stock recovery.
Right now there is no custom rom available for LG G Pad V530.
I would hope that I am wrong about this, because having TWRP on a device makes everything easy and safe.
If I am wrong about this and there is a work around please let know.
Thanks Again for you hard work.

I have unlocked my boot loader which doesn't allow you to use recovery mode. Is there a way to completely wipe the phone and undo the bootloader thing? What program can you use. Also, how can you hide the bootloader unlocked start up screen? Thanks
I want to be sure you have all your ideas straight. How comfortable are you with working from the bootloader or from recovery? What tools do you use? Can you access recovery by this method?: Hold "Power" and "Volume Down" for ten seconds and release. This takes you to the bootloader. Then press "Volume Down" once to select the recovery, then press "Volume Up" to activate that option. This should then boot into the recovery. If that is not what happens, let us know what happens instead.

There should be no problem using any of the various recovery modes with an unlocked bootloader. Stock, TWRP, and CWM should all work fine. Can you describe what you did, what happened, and what you expected to happen?

There are several things here. You can wipe the phone and return it to factory defaults by using "fastboot -w". This does not change your bootloader or recovery. You can re-lock you bootloader, but it will always register that the bootloader was once unlocked. There is no real benefit to relocking the bootloader so I won't put instructions here, but let me know if that's what you want to do. Finally, you can flash a new recovery image onto your device, which will wipe out whatever recovery image you had on there. The command looks like "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img".
Also, how can you hide the bootloader unlocked start up screen?

This is simple as flashing a new logo. The command is "fastboot flash logo logo.bin". This will overwrite the stock logo (which checks if the phone is unlocked) with a modified one which looks the same whether it is unlocked or not.

I mean fastboot recovery thing if that's what you didnt think.
I can get into the recovery screen fine. Selecting recovery puts me into a no command screen and then just boots up as normally. I was expecting to get another menu with factory reset and cache reset, and factory just boots up normally. Is factory reset from the fastboot screen just the same as the reset in the settings menu? Is it that you cant use those settings with a unlocked bootloader.
Are TWRP and CWN both apps you get for/through rooting in which you can restore back up etc? I have heard about CWN but havent really used it.
Would doing "fastboot -w" just do the same as reset from settings menu? Also I'm not sure what you mean by flash a new recovery image?
Also, I dont understand how to remove the boot loader unlocked screen. You have to start a command prompt and type in that with your phone in fastboot mode?
Is recovery
Sorry for being such stupid noob pleb :good:
I think I understand the problem. The first screen you come to says "Fastboot flash mode" or something like that and has a boot mode selection menu with "Recovery" as one option. This screen is the bootloader. When you are in the bootloader, you use the fastboot command on the computer to do things to the phone.
When you select and activate the "Recovery" option, you get a screen that says "No Command". This is actually the stock recovery. TWRP is TeamWin Recovery Project and CWM is Clockwork Mod. They're both roughly the same in terms to capabilities. Both have far more features than the stock recovery. You can use adb to communicate with your phone in recovery mode.
Here is a program that will help you install the recovery. USB debugging should be turned on on your phone, and you should be booted into the system. Also be sure that the proper USB drivers are installed on your computer.

Here is a thread about removing the warning screen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548530
In summary, you can either download "logo.zip" and install it from recovery, or you can download "original_logo.zip", extract "logo.bin" and use "fastboot flash logo logo.bin" when you are booted into the bootloader. I am assuming you do not have a "Google Play Edition" or "GPE". If you do, there is a different logo for you in that thread.
The bootloader can be relocked, but it will not change the warning screen. Locking the bootloader will only make it so you cannot flash custom recoveries and such. Can you explain what you hope to achieve by relocking the phone? Again, it can be done, but I want to make sure it is really what you want.
Which one would you recommend: TWRP or CWN? Thanks!

You can't go wrong with either TWRP or PhilZ. PhilZ is based on CWM. It has added features and touch capabilities. Because a recovery is so easy to switch, if you make your best guess for which you will like more, and if you are not happy with it, you can switch. I like both, and most users will find all the features they need in either one.
TWRP looks like this: https://www.xda-developers.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/AgsV.png

Hello everyone. I am new around here and totally new with android devices. I got my tf300t, installed twrp and flashed to the newest android version. Then my dad suddendly pressed something like restore to the manufactory setting and after that it rebooted and just keep booting with teamwin logo. I can not access twrp recovery mod, it is just in boot loop. I managed to get adb to work, but no fastboot since it does not boot into recovery mode. When I am in adb I can browse the device but the adb reboot bootloader does not work at all. It just hangs there. I can not power off the device because it does not let me, I can not boot into recovery mode with powerbutton and volume down button. After a long power button press it only reboots. I even tried with hard reset button but still the same. Could You please help me somehow? I really need that device for school and I would like to get back into the stock android. Thank you so much for any help.
//edit : I also forget to mention, when I execute adb deviced it shows:
List of devices attached
0123456789ABCDEF recovery
Also the device is unlocked.
Did you tried: adb reboot recovery ?
Did you tried to flash recovery again?
Be sure to use the right recovery for your bootloader. Did you upgraded bootloader to latest ASUS one? One then you're able to flash current recoveries like TWRP like 2.8.5.0 oder 2.8.7.0.
Edit: Also take a look here -> http://droidmodderx.com/prime/?page_id=74
Hello sir. Thank you for answering. I tried adb reboot recovery and it just hangs to be executed... But the tablet is still flashing the teamwin logo. I have the same bootloop as the guy on youtube called Francis Domingo and video called Samsung s5 stuck at TWRP Recovery boot loop (unfortunately I can not add link here).
//edit: Thank you for the link. It look like I have to use option 1a. Is it safe to use that command and I will not make it even more bricked? Thank you so much
//edit2: Now I just realized how to turn off the device to stop from rebooting. I just long pressed power button and up volume button and after the screen went black I kept holding the up volume button. I didn't work with down volume button or if I stopped holding the up volume button after black screen it rebooted again.
//edit3 : Let's say if I get to the twrp mode with option 1a from the link, what do I have to do next to get back to the stock rom (I think it was something like 4.0.3) ? Thank you
What the guy does in 1a is wiping mmcblk0p3.
Afaik mmcblk0p3 is the staging partition. That would be my guess anyway if you had access to fastboot. Usally when you can't boot into recovery, something is wrong in staging. I got the same problem 2 days ago. In this case you usually wipe staging partition via fastboot.
Since you got no fastboot access, you have to try with adb.
After cleaning the staging partition you can flash any recovery you want back again.
The recovery must be flashed to mmcblk0p4 <- 4!!! is the recovery partition. (but you should wipe mmcblk0p3 (3!!!) before)
So I would say, try what solution 1a suggests.
Edit: You can go back to stock android if you want, but there is no reason for this. My advice would be to unlock and root your device, upgrade to latest boot loader (which is done by upgrading to latest stock rom), then flash TWRP 2.8.5.0 and then a useful ROM on top. I'm using the one from timduru which is very nice. You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/rom-t2932783
Thank you for the answer. Could you please write a step by step to get out of brick and to get the stock version, because the newer one I installed was many times slower. The reason why I would like to have step by step is because I don't wanna mess it even more than it is. Thank you so much.
//the stock rom was much more faster than the one I have installed, I mean... the boot time wad unbelievable slow, same with responses and wifi problem. If there is any other faster rom than stock I would be happy but I don't wanna mess with any bugs or slow boot speed and I can not wait minutes until it boots.
Hm, try the Option 1a from the link.
If done, boot into current recovery. Tell me which version and which recovery do you have.
Top on this we can decide what to do to flash a good ROM.
I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. Option #1 worked for me.
I did the steps from option #1 and powered down using the volume up + power. I then tried to boot into TWRP recovery, which only reproduced the same issue.
I redid the option #1 steps, and this time powered down using the power + volume down. I powered back up normally, and it rebooted normally into the ROM.
The tablet now works normally, and I can also boot back into TWRP recovery with no issues.
Thanks for the thread and the link.
Thank you so much Catscratch! After I executed both command from option 1a I can get into the screen, where it shows three options: RCK, Android, Wipe Data
In the top left corner, there is written:
Key driver not found.. Booting OS
Android cardhu-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "WW_epad-10.6.1.27.5-20130902" A03
Starting Fastboot USB download protocol
The tablet can boot into the last ROM but as I said, I would like to have the faster and less buggy rom than this. When I open the settings and click about button there is written: CyanongenMod: 12.1-20150814-NIGHTLY-tf300t and Android version 5.1.1.
If I start RCK it just brings me back to the loop, but now I have fastboot available as it said above and I can list the fastboot devices on computer, which I couldn't before. Should I just execute this command from the computer "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob" and then "fastboot reboot" or should I download ROM from asus.com/Tablets/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TF300T/HelpDesk_Download/ -> OS Android -> Firmware and now I don't know which should I choose: If JP or CN or WW or US or TW (Probably US right?). After that should I execute "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery firmware.img" and then "fastboot reboot" ? Or which ROM should I download to make it even faster and less buggy than stock ROM? Thank you so much again, You saved my tablet
//After I unzipped downloaded US ROM there is no img file. If I remember right the img file is only recovery to reflash the actual one and then when I start the twrp recovery I will select zip file with rom right?
OK, first of all to continue...I assume you got root access. (I think you should have, because you already got CM installed)

Push all files to sdcard with "adp push" or in CM. Like you want.
Flash TWRP. (you can skip this step if you already got TWRP 2.8.5.0 or higher version). You don't need latest one.
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
- or -
adb reboot recovery
Now, go into recovery and wipe everything:
- cache
- dalvik
- system
- data
After that flash ZIPs from sdcard. (use "add more zips" option)
1. ROM
2. Gapps
3. SuperSU
Next: Wipe cache and dalvik again (only these two).
Reboot and wait. First boot can take some minutes.
Thank you so much again. Everything work perfectly The rom looks a lot faster than the older one I had there. No issues yet at all. Just awesome. Thank you so much. Really appreciate your kindness and help. You have a nice day !
Thanks. Have fun with your tf300.
Hello
I have a Google pixel 128 GB device but recently it got bricked after an ota update. Unfortunately my phone is not rooted or unlocked. So I could not do anything under fastboot, also adb is crashed.
So the phone is bricked. But it can be rectified using QPST is edl mode I suppose. But as of now there is no such development for qpst for Google pixel.
But there are many users they face the same issue recently.
Is there any chance of development for it?
you said bootloader ! you mean the phone can boot into bootloader mode ! after that you said edl mode ? i dont understand. please explain. i may help !
*The Phone Goes into Fastboot with no problems.
*In Fastboot Mode if i try to go to Recovery, The Phone Reboots and does not go to the Recovery But it Keeps on Rebooting.
So the Recovery Partition of the Phone might be Corrupted.
So im looking for ways to Flash the Recovery partition with QPST or any other methods.
Fastboot Doesn't Help Because the Bootloader is locked.

I do believe I've tried this to no avail on a Verizon g-2pw4100-022-b (the "b" probably stands for "brickable").
I'm stuck in the same situation:
Power+vol down - bootloader
Bootloader to recovery - boot loop
Bootloader to barcodes - barcodes show
Edit: power on only leads to constant screen flashing unless you hold volume down for bootloader, at which point you can vol up once and power down.
Can't flash a recovery, can't flash an OTA since that requires adb sideload, which is part of recovery, and can't flash a factory image with the bootloader locked, which is only unlocked under development tools.
One thing to note is that in the bootloader screen, both "b/l" and the one below it (radio?) both say "n/a", which leads me to believe the December update from Verizon could be the cause.
Suggestions as to how to proceed are greatly appreciated.

I have a Reddit thread how to activate qpst .
You can also "adb reboot edl" if your PC can recognize your phone at least.
If not, power button and volume up(or down, I don't remember) for at least forty seconds sometimes brings it up
But then you'd need firmware to flash with qpst and I'm not sure how to go about doing that

Can you fastboot boot twrp ?
Are there any solutions to enter EDL Mode in google pixel without adb?
I was able to get the device rooted with the magisk boot image patch method, but I was seeing if I can get twrp?

Thanks
here is the link https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...agisk-root-t3992477/post80692227#post80692227
Thank you !
go to settings and enable developer options, then go to developer options / enable usb debugging and enable oem unlock
then on pc if you have adb and fastboot installed then type adb reboot bootloader
then once the tablet is in fastboot type fastboot oem unlock-go to unlock the bootloader
TWRP 3.3.1-0 TB-X605F Lenovo Smart Tab M10
i used the twrp port from stock recovery method here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-porting-twrp-source-t3843473
"warning this will wipe data, bootloader needs to be unlocked, computer has adb and fastboot installed"
1. download twrp from here http://www.mediafire.com/file/tn7csi4gzm91w7v/twrp-3.3.1-0-X605F.img/file
2. then on the tablet go to settings / Developer mode / usb debugging
3. connect the tablet to pc with usb cable then on the tablet you will see usb debugging authorizations, click on allow always to make the device debuggable
4. on pc launch command prompt then type "adb reboot bootloader" to reboot into bootloader
5. once in bootloader type "fastboot flash recovery "the directory of the twrp-recovery.img" once flashed then type "fastboot reboot"
6. once tablet rebooted type "adb reboot recovery" on pc to reboot into recovery, warning you will see /data mounting errors to fix this on the tablet go to wipe / format data and type yes to format data, then go back to main screen then go to reboot / recovery to reboot back into recovery.
7. on pc download dm-verity-forceencryption zip file here http://www.mediafire.com/file/ndhe4ewlzlffdur/Disable-dm-verity-forceencryption.zip/file then on the tablet go to advanced / adb sideload then swipe it, then on pc type "adb sideload the directory where you put the zip file" once flashed then go to the main screen then go to reboot / system to reboot system
then it should boot up.
Working fine from my side
Turbo, many Thanks!
It works perfectly ! ?

Good job, @turboperson123 ! @Monpseud0 pointed me over here.
I've got some time this week & I'm going to start on a version that will handle encryption. You can find the device tree and code here. I've included a link to this thread.
I bricked my device. Rebooting the system from TWRP only gets me back into TWRP.
Am afraid I will have to flash a new rom.
Does anyone know where to download a working rom for TB-X065F
Help much appreciated.

Easiest thing to do is use LMSA. It's available on Lenovo's support page: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/au/en/...r-list/component?name=Software and Utilities.
Still unable to re-flash stock ROM

I can download the ROM through LMSA, but not flash it.
Trying to do so yields a "complete" message from LMSA after only a few seconds, but then rebooting the device only gets me back into TWRP.
I also tried to flash all system_xx.img from the ROM using fastboot flash system system_xx.img ,
and to flash all vendor_xx.img from the ROM using fastboot flash vendor vendor_xx.img.
Fastboot performs this operation, but then rebooting gets me back into TWRP again.
Trying to reboot the system from TWRP yields the message "no system installed"
Help much appreciated.

Tough one! Try this. It will wipe your data partition, though.
If it will let you, power down the tablet for about 10mins. Then boot into TWRP. Go to "Wipe" and swipe for Data/Factory Reset. Reboot.
If the M10 still won't boot, in TWRP re-format Data (by typing 'yes' under Wipe->Format Data), and wipe cache and Dalvik Cache. I think dalvik is under Wipe->Advanced. Factory reset again. Reboot.
As an absolute last resort, you might try fixing permissions in TWRP under "Advanced". But I don't think that's going to do much, because you haven't booted the ROM successfully yet.
Hope one of these works for you. Let us know what worked for you. If nothing works, PM me and we'll try some other things.
Lenovo Logo THEN black screen -- DEAD

I followed the instructions but on the last step of rebooting to system the device restarts, shows the Lenovo logo then it goes to a black / blanks screen. It appears to have shut down. I must hold the power button for several seconds before it wakes up (or restarts?) and does this all over again -- shows the Lenovo logo then black screen.
For the record the device was already rooted with Magisk. I was just trying to do a TWRP backup but found /data mounting errors so tried following steps 6 & 7. At the moment the device refuses to boot up. I am unable to get back into Recovery Mode. The ONLY thing i can do is get into FASTBOOT mode and issue commands from CLI.
The following hardware key combos produce the same results -- tablet turns on to show the Lenovo logo, after a few seconds the screen goes black (the device appears to have turned off):
x Power key
x Power Key + Volume Down
x Power Key + Volume Up
x Power Key + Volume Up + Volume Down
** Release of keys is done once Lenovo logo appears
Any ideas?
UPDATE
I went ahead and performed: fastboot flash boot boot.img << the boot.img was the earlier patched magisk image i used to get the rooted working tablet.
After performing the above the tablet turned on and is now showing the Lenovo logo however it does nothing else --- it remains on the logo forever. I am able to get into TWRP recovery. I went ahead and wiped Dalvik, Cache, and Data. Rebooted to System but still it is stuck on the Lenovo Logo.
The device if fully charged.

You could try recovering the tablet with LMSA. See this post. You'll lose all your existing data and setup on the tablet, though.
Not sure what went wrong for you. Do you have a TB-X605F with Snapdragon 450 SOC? The existing TWRP is only for the SDA450. I'm working on one for the M10s with SDA429.

Thanks for the response. Yes mine has the Snapdragon 450. I will investigate the LMSA. Been messing around all day but made no progress -- not even QPST is working out.
Phone: mi mix 1 (lithium)
I did the adb and fastboot steps in flashing twrp.img (twrp is correct for my phone)
Adb devices
Adb reboot bootloader
Fastboot devices
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot boot twrp.img
Here are the images (attached in post)
First, twrp logo screen appears
Then, it asks for password
Then, touchscreen doesn't work (3rd image is locked twrp)
I turned phone off.
Then power + volume up button goes to Mi-Recovery 3.0 (not twrp screen) which only shows 3 options
Reboot
Wipe Data
Connect with MIAssistant
Touch works when I boot phone normally (no touch working in only twrp)
How do I fix this?
just enter the password??

Flashing TWRP requires phone's bootloader is unlocked, whereas booting into TWRP doesn't require phone's bootloader is unlocked.
Wondering why you flashed TWRP and booted into it at the same time?

Oh? I tried flashing again
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot reboot
It rebooted into normal android
I turned phone off then holdpressed power and volume up buttons. It went to Mi-Recovery 3.0 not twrp. The cmd said twrp was flashed successfully.
Why is it like this?
I have 3 issues:
1. Twrp asks for decryption password
2. Touchscreen not working
3. Can't go to twrp using power and volume up button
edit: bootloader already unlocked before I'm doing all these twrp steps

Thanks. But it wasn't dm-verity. It says it's not enabled.
It was a kernel issue.
Good thing I have a usb hub and otg cable so I used mouse and flash drive to work through twrp.
I'm semi-noob at these things because the last and only time I dabbled in flashing was way back (samsung galaxy note 2) so I'm good as complete newbie in a way.
Thanks to everyone who replied here. Appreciated.
edit:
The faulty twrp was the source of the "touchscreen not working" issue
