Hi,
Do you know if anyone is working on Magisk for Mediapad T5 ?
Really excited to see this happened !
Magisk 17.1 is already working fine on AGS2 !
-> ctsProfile & basicIntegrity are both true on AGS-W09C432 B132 and B157.

HOW I thought Huawei Locked Bootloaders
Huawei and Honor do not provide anymore bootloader's unlock codes.
But some third-party sellers are selling them for old and new devices which are just released.
They are sold online from 40 US$ up to 140 US$ ;
Prices are depending from whom you'll buy.
For more infos about this or to know the less expensive sellers, you can just Telegram me on
https://t.me/oslo83
so... without paying an extra 40, there is no way yet to install magisk, right ?
As right now, I don't think so.
Because Magisk 17.1 is already working fine on mediapad T5.
And can you even gain root access on Huawei via adb?
---------- Post added at 16:23 ---------- Previous post was at 16:22 ----------
By the way, bootloader's unlock code prices dropped down to 25€

Help !!!
Hi Oslo83,
Can i contact you to help me to install magisk to my mediapad T5 please?
Thanks!!!
Still nothing useful for unlocking Huawei devices yet? Pity...
It is possible to unlock the bootloader - at least it was for me; The key is to downgrade the T5 to version 8.0.0.163 or older; Then DC Unlocker can unlock your device for around 4$ - which is I think fair; I only know a German website where it is described for the M5 but worked for my T5..
But probably it is just a translation of a post on xda developers... What is the current version on your T5?
AGS2 C432B163 with december 2018 security patches ??? -It should not work... @JohnnnyBT Did you order your code between march 29th and april 1st 2019 ? -As codes were made available around that time.
If you use the DC unlocker, they are still available; I just did it few days ago;
Thing is, that they usually not work on newer devices because of some patch by Huawei - that's why I downgraded it; Downgrading with the December patch, however is indeed impossible I think?
What is your Build Number when you go to settings -> android version?

Are you speaking of mediapad T5 AGS2 ?
Because AGS2-W09C432B126 with august 2018 security patches was already not working with DC or hcu softwares...
Now I see your problem - I have an older Android security patch, that is why it was working for me;
I am so sorry - I am a newbie and don't know every detail; I guess I was just lucky

Hey can you link a tutorial on how to Root the MediaPad t5?
I think mine is already unlocked because in Canada, wireless service providers (Rogers for me) are required to sell already unlocked devices.
EDIT: My Build Number is AGS2-L03 8.0.0.175(C654)
Security Patch: March 1, 2019
Sim-lock and Bootloader-lock are two different locks.
Just boot in bootloader mode aka fastbootmode and see what is written on.
Phone locked means your bootloader is locked, meaning no root for now...
It didnt say anything.
I booted up using Power + Volume Down and it said nothing at all. It booted into safe mode once though.
(Tried this like 10 times. And ive rooted every samsung phone ive had from the s4,5,6,7 so i have some experience doing this)
I just want to root my tablet so i can use ps4 remote play. Does anyone have a safe method i can use?
EDIT: Plugged into PC and it says "Phone Locked FRP Lock". Guess rooting is out of the question for now

Hi all,
I got my new Huawei Honor V10 Saturday and it's an excellent phone! The phone updated itself to the latest firmware as soon as it connected to WiFi.
So now I have BKL - L09 8.0.0. 163(C636)
This is an important question that might help all new V10 people....
Would it be possible to use funky Huawei to downgrade the firmware to before the July patch /update and then use DC unlocker or HCU client to unlock the bootloader??
What's your thoughts on this?
Thanks for your help
D.
Do you have a code?
If you have a code.. You don't have to downgrade
If you don't have a code.... Sorry about your bad luck

He does not have one.
We were thinking, as DC/HCU used to work with Honor V10 (though on their site it only lists AL models, but I have seen someone use it to remove FRP lock), downgrading might be a solution. Sadly there are no dload packages for C636, but they exist for both C432 and C00 on androidhost.ru.
The thing is, if someone has already tried this and it failed OP wouldn't have to waste $45$.
So if someone on C432 who doesn't have an unlock code they could test downgrading to a May patch firmware or earlier.
I can provide instructions if you want to test.
This works fine on Mate 10/Pro as long as you haven't updated to a 02 xloader, then downgrading won't work as recovery will check xloader to prevent the brick that occurs when you flash a 01 xloader firmware on one with 02
I have a c675 on b161...I have a unlock code.. But am unwilling to root the finiky honor..
While I could.. It's not as easy or simple as my old Samsung.. Plus a lot of the features break upon flashing of other ROMs
While I would debloat tweak..I think the phone is fine as it is
Good luck...

OP doesn't have an unlock code. OP is asking if it would be possible to downgrade using FunkyHuawei to an earlier fw, and then to use DC/HCU to get unlock code.
Same way can be done on Mate 10/Pro, I downgraded (Though through DLOAD) from C432B148-SP1 to B142 and DC was working fine. On C432B145+ (June+) it is not working at all.
But I cant find any real proof that DC/HCU was working for global Honor View 10 prior to June firmware.
And as for debloating, there's not much bloat to begin with (thankfully). And preinstalled apps, including some of Huaweis own, can be uninstalled/disabled.
I couldn't live without root But I guess I like tinkering with my phone more than actually using it as a phone, lol
Good luck

You would have to use service firmware from androidhost.ru. I would downgrade to the version which is GPU Turbo. That one might work with DC.
You get instructions with the firmware, but basically just you unzip the file, copy the 'dload' folder from 'Software' to microsd and start dload mode (Vol up + down + power).

HI,
Thanks for quick reply. I will try your method later on but I would like to say that
I did try to downgrade to STF-L09_C432B130 from 4pda.ru/forum via SD card method in *#*#2846579#*#* but it failed at 5%
Any Idea what could be wrong? Also can you tell me how do I know that firmware is GPU Turbo? Thanks

B376 is the build that added GPUTurbo so you should be able to downgrade to that.
They added a new bootloader in that so you can't downgrade past it.
(You can technically but your device will hardbrick and you need to flash with TWRP or NoCheck recovery).
It may be possible because huawei started preventing downgrades in Pie, and I'm not sure if they've done so in later builds of Oreo too...

Downgrade to a previous build. Like B197 to B179. Can't be done in Pie.
You could try with the Handset ProductLine drivers found in DCs download section, but if it can read phone it means it should work if it's not patched in B376. So chances are they added it in B376, and you can't downgrade past it.
You didn't save unlock code last time you got it?

Unfortunately I could not find the code I was given before.
DC does not identify my phone by name and model it is just saying Found Applications port
Also in DC app on my phone there is no option for code by IMEI ???
I could not find a specific drivers for my phone in download section of Dc site. There is two files for Huawei Android phone drivers but I do not know how to instal them.
For all of you who hoped for more unlockbootloader codes, i just read that huawei is pushing an aggressive update to all p9 phones(atm) to detect unlocked ones and causes problems to them, forcing you to lock.
Where did you read this? Do you have a link that provides more details?

Well, while I agree to much of the criticism of Huawei, it is far from proved that the "patch" OTA update mentioned in the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77418253&postcount=6557 linked from your article intentionally prevents Magisk installation. IMHO you can't simply use the old modified ramdisk (containing Magisk code) along with the system that was modified by the firmware update, see
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77424635&postcount=462
Actually, why all this hassle with the patched Magisk ramdisk anyway? I simply flashed Magisk through TWRP on my Honor 10, and this works perfectly with the latest Honor 10 firmware 8.1.0.145(C432) and Magisk beta version (16.7). I won't work with the latest stable Magisk since (if I understand correctly) this one lacks Treble support.

There is a possible workaround which I did last week.
First, I had upgraded version of Android 8.0 (MHA-L29 8.0.0.375(C567)(Stock Official) and possible to obtain the bootloader code when I start this process.
Here is what I did.
1. Downgrade to Android 7.0(EMUI 5.0) by using Huawei's HiSuite software
Click "Update" and select earlier version.
Current : MHA-L29 8.0.0.375(C567)(Official)
Earlier : MHA-L29C567B190(Official) | 2.45GB | Android 7.0(EMUI 5.0)
2. Using 3rd Party tool/service(about $5), I was able to get the bootloader code
In my case, I used DC-Unlocker tool(FREE) and purchasing 4 credits($4.71).
With the bootloader code, you can move to the next steps(root, custom ROMs, etc...)
Hope it helps!

In fact, I was not sure mine(from Android 8.0 to Android 7.0(EMUI 5.0)) could also downgrade, too.
(Yes, I did not expect to work to be honest with you.)
It would be good to try since it does not cost anything except your time (back up data and actual trying).

Yes, I saw this before I try - Well I took the risk.
I can only assume that my phone was fine since it was stock & locked boot loader when I downgrade.
Now, my phone is unlocked boot loader & rooted with latest OTA Update applied - when OTA applied,
it locked the boot loader again which I had to unlock it again.

Thanks & Really Sorry for misunderstanding & misreading.
Starting 8.0.0.377 and newer version can't downgrade it => it will brick the phone!
Up to MHA-L29 8.0.0.375(C567) and lower versions can downgrade by using Huawei's HiSuite software.
Hope this clears and provide right(safe) information. I do not want to provide dangerous (which will brick) information to all.

Hi, I have MHA-L29 8.0.0.370 (C432) security patch 1 july 2018, can i unlock the bootloader with DC-Unlocker ?
I tried to downgrade with Huawei's HiSuite (version 9.0.3.300_OVE) but the "Update, swith to other version" doesn't appear.
Up to which version 8.0.0.??? ( or security patch ? ) can Mate 9 be downgraded with Huawei's HiSuite
Up to which version 8.0.0.??? ( or security patch ? ) can DC-Unlocker unlock the bootloader ?
It seeems like you need to first upgrade from Nougat 7.x to Oreo 8.x WITH Huawei's HiSuite,
only then the "swith to other version" is available in Huawei's HiSuite to roll back from 8.x to 7.x ... correct ?

HI. I have a Mate 9 MHA-L00 with unlocked bootloader and installed KANGVIP ROM (Android 7...). I would like to try OpenKirin based PIE ROM, but in order to do that I would have to go back to stock EMUI and thus my bootloader would be re-locked. Is there a way to read the bootloader code again on an unlocked bootloader MHA-AL00? I am googling but can't find anything. I know there is DC-Unlocker but I would like to use that as a last resort. Thanks.
Hello guys,
I made a big mistake - I bought the Mediapad T5 in the 16GB 2 GB Ram version because I thought this is enough - however, it turns out that their EMUI occupies already 1.6 GB of RAM and therefore, even the keyboard crashes, lots of jerks when playing a video in HD, apps crash it is really a mess;
So the only idea I had (although I am not too familiar with custom ROMS) to replace EMUI by some system which does not occupy too much RAM; So I first was frustrated that the bootloader is naturally locked but I found a solution by downgrading the system and then unlock the bootlader with DC unlocker for around 4$;
Now I think I need to do the following steps:
1. Install TWRP
2. Flash a new OS
3. use TWRP to install a patch called the "low-ram property patcher", see here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...mod-low-ram-property-patcher-android-t3737373
Now in theory it seems easy; TWRP is naturally compatible to my device, right? So I can probably find many explanations how to get it; But then I need to find a new OS compatible for my device which is a problem; I want an OS compatible to my device with not too high RAM consumption; I thought of Lineage 15.1 but only the Mediapad M5, not the Mediapad T5 is supported; So anyone an idea what OS I can choose?
Many thanks
Seems that you need to unlock bootloader with a bought code 25 to 40 $ and I havn´t found any customroms until now...

Hi everyone.
I have a Huawei mediapad T5 AGS2-L09. It has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory.
I updated the software and a new option in the developers optons emerged:
"OEM Unlocking" - Allow the bootloader to be unlocked
When I turn it on a dialog box pops up with a warning:
"WARNING: Device protection features will not work on this device if this setting is enabled."
You have the option to CANCEL or ENABLE.
This is it, right?
Does anyone know how to root it from here and hopefully has a custom ROM?
The build number: AGS2-L09 8.0.0.222(OCEC432)
Android security patch: September 5, 2019
This option may or may not help. On Xiaomi devices the bootloader can only be unlocked by Xiaomi. The option you see in do is not made by Lenovo I think, it is an Android option. Please check it and try to install TWRP. Afaik Huawei does not allow unlocking...
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO USE ONLY TWRP THAT IS PROOVEN TO WORK WITH YOUR DEVICE!!!!

Because it's Huawei, they don't want your device unlocked and replaced with unsanctioned software so you can remove the Chinese government spyware
Hello guys !!
How are you today? because im ultra fine like all the days.
Well, i want to ask you if you can help me with this problem;
I Have a Smartphone Huawei, model "Mate 9 (MHA-09)", with Bootloader Locked, system Emui 9.1 = Android 9, FRP Unlocked.
For me, my 2 solutions are:
" Downgrade Emui 9.1 to Emui 9.0, then, to Emui 8, and finally, to unlock bootloader whit DC-Unlocker"
" Or change all the system with root, like the launcher, the notification panel, menu, etc"
I read about:
° HuRupdater
° Upgrade / Downgrade by SD Card With Dload
° Downgrade With Hi Suite 9.0 or 5.0 with FunkyHuawei
° Install TWRP whit NoChek
° Firmware Finder
° DC- Unlocker
° Xloader
° Update With SD 16Gb and not 32Gb
and i try, and i try.
and thats why i am here, i still can´t find those solutions, and i need help.
Can you help me please?

You can downgrade simply by HiSuite, see discussion (check also the earlier posts):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80889343&postcount=3
That way you can go down to EMUI 8 but not earlier than to the firmwares with Security patch 07/2018 or later
And you cannot (and must not - people hardly bricked various Huawei phones, not just Mate 9) roll-back further because at that time Huawei changed the Bootloader
It actually means that you cannot go back to be 'able' to use old/good DC Unlocker - instead of DC Unlocker you will have bricked device that can only be repaired by Testpoints method
Also, only by Testpoints method you can rollback to Oreo, Security patch 06/2018 or earlier, that you can then unlock by DC Unlocker.
It was discussed in one of the threads here for Mate 9, about two months ago - please search
It was also asked and answered in another Mate 9 thread (during the last month or so - please search, you will find) about the available options to unlock Bootloader - but all goes down to the Testpoints, and some costs (to Halabtech, HCU or a particular Telegram group) that are about 30 Euros or more
Only those who never upgraded over Oreo firmwares with Security patch 06/2018 (that is, who still have the older Bootloader) can simply unlock the Bootloader with DC Unlocker for about 4 Euros ;-(

Hello mate.
I had tried before posting, but it didn't work.
So far the temporary solution I found (which I also tried for Dload and Hi suite, and it did not work, maybe I am wrong) is to perform a Downgrade from Emui 9.1 to 9.0, then you can perform a Downgrade to Emui 8.0. (but it is not possible to do it directly from 9.1 to 8.0)
I have an information puzzle, I still can't get to Emui 8, I keep reading, trying, buy 4 credits in DC, and surprise, they can't unlock it, and I already tried so hard, for so long that I'm seeing if I already sell Huawei, and I add it to my friends list "Never Buy again"
as ise with LG, Samsung, Xiaomi.
It is frustrating, he became a dictator huawei with his Sisteman "Emui" with which I can not even clean my quiet ass without bothering with his updates

Yes, exactly as in my post you cited. You downgraded from 9.1 to 9.0, then from 9.0 to 8.0, but you are still with the newer 8.0 sharing the same new Bootloader as 9.0 or 9.1 - the same new Bootloader that cannot be unlocked for 4 EUR.
You would have to downgrade further, to the older 8.0 firmwares (before GPU Turbo and/or earlier than Security Patch 06/2018 - they usually correspond to the jump from the old xloader to the new one).
But such downgrading is not possible by e.g. HiSuite, and if you enforce it by DLOAD, you would jump to the band wagon with several other users of various Huawei devices who similarly wanted to 'cheat' - but instead of unlocking Bootloaders for the cheap 4 EUR, they hard-bricked their phones.
There is only one method to downgrade to that old xloader.img - TestPoints: it requires to open the phone, to shorten pins on the TestPoints at motherboard and then to use a special loader and driver by Huawei to flash the board image. You may have problems to restore IMEI(s).
If you are interested about, search on XDA and outside, you will find the guides.
Actually, there were even instructions here (not very detailed - requiring further research for resources), under the Mate 9, Q/A or Guides section (e.g., I remember that I have asked for how-to at late Aug or early Sep, got a short answer but I never pursued to try it on my own)
E.g., attached is a photo of TestPoints pins for Mate 9
finally, I have the solution

Men, thanks for the answer, and sharing your time.
Well,
Finally, I found the solution that I wanted to apply a long time ago.
Which one?
simple; Take the cell phone, sell it and send the **** to Huawei.
