I am on open beta 6 (pie) with unlocked bootloader and I want to flash twrp and root my phone , can someone tell me how to do it right way , cos once I tried and ended up with warning screen from Qualcomm
If you go into the section right underneath this one, Guides etc. There's a few guides to get you back on track.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=27466#downloads
You need latest Blu spark twrp to make it work.
Like the guide you are reading (I guess)
Fastboot boot Blu_spark.twrp.img
In twrp flash Blu_spark.twrp.zip
Reboot to twrp
Flash magisk
So the issue here was u probably used stock twrp

Copy this ROM to internal SD and flash from recovery

You need to find a coloros rom from 2015. The 2016 Coloros Roms have the bootloader locked
---------- Post added at 07:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:04 PM ----------
Here is a link to an older ColorOS that should have an unlockable bootloader.

Hi all, I have an Oppo r7plusf international and flashed LineageOS successfully but WiFi wasn't working. Found a thread where someone mentioned to flash project spectrum ROM as a fix and tried that. However after flashing PS successfully and confirmed everything is working I then try to reboot into recovery mode only to find out twrp stopped working. Anyone had similar experience know a way to get twrp back so lineageOS can be flash?

Hi any other solutions? I use xiaomi.eu weekly 8.3 (last week's weekly) , no twrp touch function, too. Which one do you flash and how you flash it?
---------- Post added at 08:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:14 PM ----------
Ah, ok, found the other thread in "guides", all ok now
As I recently succeeded in getting my first ota update done on this phone, I have used it to create a fastboot rom by extraction from my own phone.
There are 2 important points to note:
1] This is not an official rom, it is just an extracted one. It has been tested by extracting it from one slot and flashing it to the other where it worked perfectly, so there is no reason it shouldn't work for you but I can't guarantee it. Make sure you have a way of getting back to where you started from before you choose to use it.
2] I have included both a patched and a stock boot.img in the zip. You MUST remove the one you don't want before you flash, otherwise this is not going to work at all. My phone is rooted so I have tested the patched boot image, but not the stock boot as I have no use for it.
If it sounds too risky for you then wait a couple of weeks and hopefully Xiaomi will produce an official version.
So with those warnings out of the way, here is the link - hope it works for you.

Hello guys,
i saw there some questions about TWRP and android 10. So far you cant boot TWRP on android 10. It doesnt matter Q BETA DP4, 5 or OB1.
Mauronofrio is already informed about that. There is some work needed to fix that.
But there is a way to flash TWRP with Magisk! I already posted that a few times in TWRP thread and opened this thread now. So it's easier to find it.
You will need to have magisk on your phone to do this!
UPDATING FROM ANDROID 9:
1. Install Android 10 trough local Updater AND DONT REBOOT HERE
2. Flash TWRP trough Magisk
3. Install magisk to inaktiv Slot (after OTA)
4. REBOOT NOW
With OB1 it also works the usual way:
1. Boot into TWRP and Flash OB1
2. Flash TWRP Installer.zip
3 Reboot directly into recovery
4. Flash Magisk and reboot system
COMING WITH ANDROID 10 NON ROOT:
1. Extract the boot.img of payload.bin inside the update.zip (use this tool for it LINK <--- thanks @tidschi)
2. Patch the boot.img with Magisk
3. Flash it with fastboot and reboot
4. Flash TWRP with magisk
5. Install Magisk and reboot
COMING WITH ANDROID 10 AND ROOT:
1. Flash TWRP with magisk
2. Install magisk and reboot
Thanks @tidschi for correcting me (patching boot.img) and screenshot

No, just patch boot.img from OB1 with Magisk.
Afterwards flash patched boot.img with fastboot and after that you can flash TWRP with Magisk.

Np, was for me also first time to do it this way.
Everyone can extract stock boot.img from payload file with this tool:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510260
Then simple flash the extracted boot.img with Magisk and flash with fastboot.

Little notice, as said before:
You need to extract with payload dumper the boot.img from payload.bin from ROM ZIP file.
Thanks for the guide @Kollachi
I am rooted and TWRP is installed, latest Pie Update. Can't I just download the Android 10 OB1 and flash this in TWRP? Afterwards, flash TWRP Zip and Magisk to preserve all this?

No you need to update from settings in OOS.
Then go to Magisk and install to inactive slot and reboot.
If you want to have TWRP again, install as Module with Magisk after reboot.

Just found this in OP7 Pro forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/android-q-4th-developer-preview-t3953997
How to update/install with root(TWRP):
*MAKE SURE TO HAVE EVERY MAGISK MODULE DISABLED BEFORE YOU DO THIS*
1. Download the open beta, magisk and TWRP installer
2. Copy the zip to the storage
3. Boot TWRP and decrypt
4. Flash open beta
5. Flash TWRP Installer
6. Reboot recovery
7. Flash Magisk
8. Reboot and enjoy!
I am gonna try this. This is what I did on my OP5 for a long time and I am more comfortable this way.

You can't boot into TWRP with Android 10 for now.
I know, but I am still on Pie. Will do this to update to OB1. Then I hope a new TWRP will be released soon
Edit: Worked like a charm. Can also still boot into TWRP recovery.
So finally I am rooted, so than I have to go to fastboot and flash twrp img? And then flash magisk in twrp?
EDIT: That doesn´t work, IDK how to install twrp without fastboot
Question is in the title.
If I unlock bootloader and root with magisk will I lose the ability to update via OTA?

assuming you didn't install twrp
So I just got my G7 today and did a quick setup during which it installed an OTA and then I went ahead and installed TWRP and Magisk. Shortly afterwards I get a notification that another OTA is available but now it won't install (as expected). Because I installed Magisk after TWRP I don't have a 'clean' boot image to rollback to in order to get the OTA - is the only option to reflash back to stock and start again but install Magisk before TWRP this time or is there another option?
