1. Flight Search: Search and book a flight by simply asking "Book a flight to Paris for tomorrow'. You can search for specifics like 'Find me a Southwest flight reaching New York Monday morning' or you can also modify after the results by asking for direct flights only. You can find the cheapest flights to all around the world.
2. Hotel Booking: Just ask for 'Hotels in Paris'. It will get you the hotels, homestays, hostels, luxury resorts etc. depending on your preferences, whether you like to get the local experience or live in a luxurious setting.
3. Tours and Experiences booking: Going to a destination and having to search things to do on tripadvisor? No more. Just ask by saying something like 'Things to do in Paris' or 'Tours in London' and you are good to go. You can book tours, experiences, museum tickets, Theatre tickets, and even concerts and football matches.

1. About the permissions: We have a facebook login, because we could not implement our own due to some issues. that is a work in progress.
2. Your PII is encrypted and kept secure, and no human has access to it. Since it is early days, we used scripts to create dummy data based on the dataset we had, as well as publicly available datasets for our algorithms.
3. RIght now, booking happens at the airline and provider websites.

I've had a look at most of the free city guides and they are generally pretty average, large 200meg downloads, bad maps and lots of bloat. However i am sure there are some gems out there. However since you are not going to have data some of these guides, (pocket , mtravel etc could be usefull)
As a previous poster mentioned trip advisor is the king of the hill for places to visit etc. An up and comer is stay.com which lets you create a customised guide and download it to your phone including an offline map.
If you decide to get a country specific sim for data vi highly recomend Öffi - Public Transport Buddy for public transport around europe
and kayak or tripit to manage your iteniery
Haha - this thread got bumped from several months ago, I've already done my trip (it was amazing) and ended up being very surprised by the availability of free wifi. Didn't end up needing any apps really, although there was one that had the marine forecast for the Mediterranean which was helpful since we were sailing.
