Where did the system update option go in system settings. Also I don't see the monthly patch label.
that is not your system settings. that is your "About phone" menu.
I usually check this under Settings / Security, since both the "Google Play system update" and the "Security update" (System update) are shown here.
The System update is also visible under the Settings / System / Advanced / System update.
