XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.

A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as

Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:

* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Back up your [I]Internal Storage[/I]
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build (format using fastboot --wipe-and-use-fbe)
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 8 over halogenOS 7, however, don't bother us with issues then.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Installing for the first time

* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (e. g. TWRP)
* Wipe [B]'/system' & '/cache'[/B], and of course wipe /data[/B].
[I](For `Dirty Flash`, do not wipe anything)[/I]
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Want Google Apps? Obtain and flash the latest GApps from http://opengapps.org/
* Flash any other system modifications you may want
* Reboot.
Manually updating the ROM
XOS ships with an OTA updater built-in (soon) which should automate the downloading and flashing process,
however should your wish be to manually update the ROM, you should be our guest.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Emmmmmmmm I did a CLEAN FLASH by wiping dalvik, system, data and cache in TWRP. GApps installed. No Magisk, no Xposed, no root. Shows no service for my SIM card but can make calls. NO IN CALL UI.

Oh, when I try to send a video through WhatsApp, it says "Can't start the camera, please restart your phone" but for me, it's a minor bug, and other Oreo ROMs has the same bug... I use MIUI Camera and then I share the video...

Has the same bug as MSM-X: volume buttons on wired headsets do whatever they please, except control playback volume.
Ambient display (hand wave) works much better, though.

Flashed it some hours ago. Battery life seems good, did not experience Bugs till now. Rom is smooth and fluid and has some nice customizations.

AOSP Extended is an AOSP based ROM which provides stock UI/UX with various customizations features along with the Substratum theme engine. The project has been made by cherry-picking various commits from various other projects. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box. -Why no "Incremental/Delta updates" Support?
->Actually the updates we provide monthly are heavily changed and modified than the previous builds. New stuff is merged and added. So we don't provide incremental updates and recommend a clean flash.
-Does this ROM Support Substratum?
->Yes, full Substratum support!
-Which Gapps are recommended?
->OpenGapps
-Will this ROM relock the bootloader?
->No.
-What about XPOSED?
->XPOSED is still in beta stage. We like Xposed but it messes up with the system so before giving any bug reports make sure you have Xposed uninstalled.
-When Will Be the Next Update?
->No ETAs, please. ROM Will be updated whenever the new build is ready by your maintainer. We generally provide monthly updates with latest security patches and new features.
-I am facing FCs, Bugs, Some feature is broken?
->Provide full info about your problem with logcat and the procedure to reproduce it.

There is CosmicOs pie which I have not tried. Btw all the custom ROMs for this device seem to work only on permissive SeLinux.

Can you provide a download link to it(cosmic pie)? I've tried a lot of roms of yu yureka black none of one is stable some issues are always present i don't know why but I hate my phone cause me too much trouble. if you know some custom roms better if you provide me links of some of them that has no bugs if you can. please, please

Cosmic Pie will not boot up in Yu5040. I've already tried. Go with Resurrection Remix Pie. Everything except FP is working on it. Its awesome bro because the legendary ROM is back again. #GetResurrected

On Resurrection remix, FP is working fine for me, i have goodix fp. But front camera does not work for me.

If anyone wants to flash any Android 10 ROM, then use OrangeFox(SAR) recovery to avoid any unwanted errors, as all Android 10 builds are System-as-root(SAR).
And it's also suggested to use this open-gapps for Q , as you was found that other gapps are showing some error while flashing.
Other than these I think Android 10 is quite fine to flash and use on our device.

Hi @Akash98Sky Can we have a link for OrangeFox recovery for Pie? Just curious to see what effect it has on Pie ROM? Can we flash Orangefrom TWRP or we need to do it from adb shell?

The above one can be used in Pie as well as Q.

Please tell me OpenGapps file name that works fine for you (with cloud restore while setup and etc)

Wifi doesn't work. Failed to save networks.

Any chance to get the official status with this or a following version of aospextended?
Or which ROM is most official and up to date?
