[Q] Disable message preview on gmail notifications

Hello everyone,
I have been searching my hat off for this and couldn't find someone else with the same problem as me. I don't know if this is also the correct forum to ask this (there are so many), but since I have a TF300T, I thought I'd leave this here. I hope someone can help me further with this. Any help is appreciated!
If I get a new message with Gmail, I get a notification, which is very nice! There is only 1 thing bothering me, and that is that it will display a preview of the message with the sender. It will display the sender and the subject on the bottom right corner when a new message arrives I believe and if you tap on the bottom right corner a taskbar thingie comes up with even a preview of the message. I would really love have those previews removed and the only thing I would like is a notification that I have a new message instead of all the previews. I don't know if such thing is possible, even if it's with an external application. I just love to lock my devices apps (yes my gmail is password protected) and don't want everyone to see my incoming mails when using my tablet.
Like i said before, I hope someone can get me a step further in achieving this so I can get rid of my only annoyance of Gmail for Android and any help is appreciated!
I'd also like to add that I love the TF300T! I just got it a few weeks ago and have a lot to get used to since I finally decided to upgrade from my Gingerbread device The TF300T just screams value for your money, thats why I ended up buying it in the first place

Please Standby!
Asus has released news that in March they will release a 4.2 update for the tf300. Android 4.2 includes multi-user features. At that time you can set a second user for others to use and they will only have access to what you have allowed.
4.2 is available in a couple of custom roms now but stock is on the way.

[Q] issues with my brand new galaxy s5

hi guys, i just got my galaxy s5 2 days ago,
i can tell it seems nice, but?
1- the tapping sometimes seems not callebrated!! like when i click to show the menu in data usage, it gives me the list to select/unselect the "restrict background data" but i can't select it!! same in many other menus, these menues which they changed from the press bottun hardware into a software menu to select, i can't select the ristrict background data, it is either going to above it "data roaming" or below it "enable wifi measure" how i can callebrate it? how i can make the touch work fine!!?? i even tried to use a thin pen softly many times, i just can't control some menus like the one i said about, also in messages (SMS) when trying to open a first message in the list, it opens for me "create new message instead" looks like the hit comes on the place that is above what i tap!!! any idea why?
2- i want to make the clock alarm put the das like S M T W T F S, but it keep reading starts from Monday, i've selected the regional settings correct "Dubai/ UAE" and made sure that is all like my old S3 which was fine, but i just couldn't make it appear as startting from Sunday!!! any idea?
3- when i am on the home screen, going right, goes to the right page, fine, going right again, goes to the next page, fine, but if i go left, it opens the magazine thing, i don't want it, i just want it to open the last page normally like you are flipping the pages, how i can do that?
4- the usb input place is really disgussting, everytime you need to carefully remove the cover and each ones you have to make sure you do it carefully not to spoil it, is seems thin and can't handle pressure, i just don't know why they put it,,,, any idea how to remove it "without breaking it" out of the device, so to keep it aside and may use it later for example??

I've made control F and typed galaxy s5 and galaxy s 5 in the main xda forums page but nothing was found, so i thought it is not yet been created as it is new phone
ok please move it to that one, i am still looking for those answers though

On the top-right side of this page you will find a search bar with: "Type to find your device..." and a small phone icon to the right of said bar. In there, type Galaxy S5. You will see on a drop down list with all of the variants of the S5. Click whichever applies to you, be it the Sprint variant, etc. Since you state you use the Dubai format you may want to go for the international variant. We won't be able to help as this is the S4 forum, however, the S5 forums are definitely active and available.

The S5 was terrible. I'm back to my S4 and happy. It is a step back. No SV-LTE for starters.

thanks dear, already managed to do this, i posted the same questions here, hopefully you can help with the others, someone told me it should be in that exact forum and i couldn't move it, hopefully it will have answers there, and someone from the moderators group wil remove this one

device was defective in hardware, even software update (fresh software installation) did not help. unfortunately, many people had the same problem as Samsung representative stated earlier today, they took the device from me and will arrange for replacement soon. this is FYI guys.

Anyone getting the camera failed message? Full battery and have wiped data still wont load.

maybe hardware issue as happened with my new device, take it to Samsung warranty center, they may update the software and it works, otherwise, request replacement, i did that and they replaced it for me with new peace after 2 days

Had this issue ,camera worked fine the first day .Than bam no camera took it back to bestbuy . They replaced it that day.

[Discussion] Hey Huawei give us Double tap to wake the screen!

Yesterday even Google added this feature to their Pixel phones.. It's kinda shame that older phones had this, but they removed it on P9 and Mate 9... I am really tired of looking for the power button every time or having to pick up my phone and unlock it with the fingerprint... If you are tired too, please write on their facebook page Facebook Page here to bring it back to P9 with an update or write at their customer service Contact form to email them here on Product & Technical Support - Recommendation - Interface... More people requesting, bigger chance to get it
P.S: Would be happy even with Raise to wake up the screen... Still better than nothing...

again and again,try wave to unlock and lock application,it use proximity sensor , working perfectly and battery friendly.in the settings enable only unlock option

Why we should install a separate app that's not that optimized and have one app more taking place, when they can work on it and do it the right way?
P.S: See the title. "Huawei bring DTW" not "Is there any alternative to dtw". Still you can do us a favor and report it..

Was surprised that they removed it. It exists on p8 lite ?

I was surprised too.. They removed every possible and useful way of checking your notifications.. No wave, double tap, raise to wake the screen... And there are many stuff that no one use but they still keep them...

MHA-AL00 notification problem and flash to L29

Hi all:
I got my hand set yesterday, it is 6/128 version regular mate 9 that only available in china. this is an amazing device but as it is running no ML00, it has some problems. biggest problem is i can't get notification for my facebook, EMAIL, twitter, messenger, linked in...... facebook messenger don't even get the pop up!
I installed GMS and all the google framework, enable the battery saving ignorance, keep network switch on when standing by and enable notification bar but still no luck, I even lock the app open in background, i still having some problems......
so i think the only way to fix the problem is flash it to ML29, my questions are:
1. what's the best way to flash?
2. does international version compatible with 6/128 version mate 9 (NOT the pro)
3. does international version can fix the problem?
4. i read another thread, mate 9 have some problem with 3rd party launcher, nova launcher can't display notifications, has this problem fixed?
5. can i keep receive update?

Question How to keep stay app alive?

I have a problem with the killing watch app on my OnePlus 9 phone. Every morning my watch is disconnected and I must run Huawei Health app. I tried looking for how to resolve it but nothing helps me. For example https://dontkillmyapp.com/oneplus.
This is my first OnePlus 9 phone. I'll be grateful for any advice

I had to do this same thing. Click recent pages; far right navigation button off home screen. Long press the app you want to keep running. Hit lock like in illustration. My watch stays connected always unless far away.

Thank you, but this is the basic thing that I did.

Settings - Apps and notifications - Special App access - Battery Optimisation - find your app and choose Don't Optimise.
Also in Battery Optimisation at top right side you have a menu with 3 dots for Advanced Optimisation, choose settings as you wish

All the above, plus grant to the app permanent location access privilege: this did the trick for me with Huawei Health app.

There is in the pictures my settings. I don't know what is wrong, but it isn't working. It is very annoying. The second app which doesn't work is Aquamail. Notification doesn't work after some time. I think I did everything. When I start the apps there is some delay (it works) and after that notification or connection is lost. On the other hand, I have installed MS Outlook and there is no problem.

With some apps like Microsoft Outlook for Android, I don't have a problem. With Huawei Health and Aquamail, I have problems. Trust me, I still looking for a solution.

Advertisement is gone. I suggest to consider to simply report such posts in future to allow us to eliminate them immediately. XDA currently has 3.5+M threads with 78M+ posts. Unless we receive support by the XDA users and their reports a timely action is not always guaranteed as our small moderator team can't permanently monitor all threads and posts. The deleted post was also reported by another user. Thanks for your cooperation.
