[Q] Call volume too loud through wired headset

When taking calls through my headset, the voice on the other end is too loud, even when the volume is set to 1/5. I've tried different headsets to no avail. Does anyone know how I can reduce the volume of the call below the minimum volume setting? The phone is rooted.
you could try changing the entry in the mixer_paths.xml file located in the the 'etc' directory.. you'll need root.
look for..
<path name="voice-headphones">
<path name="headphones" />
<ctl name="HPHL Volume" value="20" />
<ctl name="HPHR Volume" value="20" />
<ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="84" />
<ctl name="RX2 Digital Volume" value="84" />
</path>
and change the 20 values to 15 and the 84 ones to 83, this should give them the same values as music through headphones.. reboot to take effect, if there no difference change them back
Thank you!

[MOD]{Stereo+deaf mode+mic rec fix} [Volume Mod] Ben Volume v.1

Its simple. A lot of sound mods out there but none of them suited my needs. Each of them had different mods that the other didnt have so i copiled a mixed_paths.xml with @olokos sound mod v 2.5 adding @odl 's mic fix and @dontbelive stereo speaker mod v 2 and made a Monster Stereo Volume Mod. Ben Volume
Req:
Rooted 4.4.4 Stock Sony Xperia Z1/Z1C/Z1S/Zu
Instalation:
Just download, rename the file to mixer_paths.xml and copy the file to system/etc and set the correct permisions.
WARNING:
THIS MOD CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR EARPIECE. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK ITS BETTER TO LOWER THE VOLUME A BIT WHEN LISTENING TO THE SPEAKER
DOWNLOAD
PRESS THX IF YOU LIKE IT.
I suggest 87 for volume on both channels. This value is sufficient for louder volume without risk of damage.
The problem with mic occurs when we set more bass for speakers:
Like this: <ctl name="SLIM_0_RX Format" value="S24_LE" />
I'm using S16_LE now, less bass but no problems with mic. @dontbelive is working to get more Bass without trouble for mic recording.
Cheers

are you root? if your phone root just download NUT dual recovery installer here ,

Increase your earphones sounds [BY ADDING SOME LINES]

SONY HAVE ADDED SOME LIMITER TO THE EARPHONES SOUND SO THIS PROCESS WILL HELP U INCREASE THE LIMITER
PRECAUTIONS
#Save your stock Mixer.path.xml which is used here...
#try this only if you are on stock sound
#In case something goes wrong just replace it and sorry its not working for you
Steps
Step 1. Go into system /etc/ mixer.path.xml
Step 2. Open that file
Step 3.find this lines
<path name="headphones">
<path name="headphones-lite" />
<ctl name="COMP1 Switch" value="1" />
<ctl name="HPHL Volume" value="11" />
<ctl name="HPHR Volume" value="11" />
<ctl name="RX1 Digital Volume" value="84" />
<ctl name="RX2 Digital Volume" value="84" />
</path>
Step 4. Increase the volume by increasing value of Rx1 And Rx2
Step 5. U can increase max at 99 and my suggestion will be 88 or 90 not more than that..
Stpe 6. Save this file

Stereo mod for xiaomi mi4c (libra)
Based on [OFFICIAL] sources Lineage OS.
Includes:
1. Connecting stereo sound "Speaker - Main Speaker" [LEFT-RIGHT] respectively.
2. Increase the volume of device. (I recommend to use it in conjunction with viper fx with "speaker otimization" enabled.)
3. Increase the sensitivity of microphones.
DISCLAIMER:
I just report to work on [official]lineageOS I am not responsible in any way for anything that happens to your device. You do so at your own risk.
However, it works for most users without problems.

You can install a couple different ways including extracting the files included in the zip and manually pushing them to system/etc, set permissions to rw r r, and reboot or just flash the included zips in your custom recovery.
CREDITS:
Cozzmy13 - He made LineageOS port and achieved official support. I used these source files.
kevinkvothe - Thanks for the first port of the stereo mod on our device. So I use some of the developments from his mod.

Anyone tried this? I'm still on MIUI 9. Will try it when I get back to LineageOS.
Yeah man, it works as advertised, thanks. Would you be able to tell me (by line # or title) which values I need to change (I'm guessing the ones which are 93 now) for headphones and earpiece? I may want to increase them.

How to increase (boost) only in-call (handset) volume on samsung stock rooted rom

Hello friends
My question is how can I boost the in-call (handset) volume by editing mixer.paths.xmls file.
I can successfully boosted speaker and headset volume as I show below, but question is related with increasing the volume while calling someone.
I am j700f MM user with root and custom stock samsung MM rom.
I am waiting for you suggestions.
Thanks in advance
For speaker boost I changed 3 with 5 or 6
<path name="gain-media-speaker">
<ctl name="S2801 MIX1_LVL" value="0" />
<ctl name="DAC Gain" value="121" />
<ctl name="Speaker Volume" value="3" />
</path>
For headset boost I changed 36 with 39 or 39
<path name="gain-media-headset">
<ctl name="S2801 MIX1_LVL" value="0" />
<ctl name="DAC Gain" value="121" />
<ctl name="Headphone Volume" value="36" />vido36-38
</path>
