Xiaomi Mimojis Port - Get them on any Android 5.0+ device!
Hello everyone,
Today, I'm proud to present a port I've made of Xiaomi Mimoji. It's compatible with (probably most) Android 5.0+ devices that run ARM based processors. It includes many more Mimojis than the Nokia Camera port I'm also the author of, although I must say, theirs work better.
App features:
12 Mimojis, with video recording of up to 10 now 30 secs.
Change the audio pitch to Women, Men and Cartoon.
Save the result to your gallery or share the video.
MOD features:
Removed MIUI CTA in order for the app to work in non-Xiaomi devices.
Changed all trackings, crash, error reports and A/B experiments URLs to non-existent URLs.
(This means, no information is being sent to Chinese servers out of your device, thanks @p4block )
Unlocked Cartoon voice effect, although it seems to be similar if not the same to the Original voice.
App translated from Chinese into English by myself - Some texts may not be accurate!
Videos length can now reach up to 30 seconds, instead of the default 10s (Added in version 1.0.0-bea5a2c4)

Things I'm aware of:
- On older devices, the video preview of the animojis seems to look poor in-app, but the exported video looks just fine.
- Face tracking isn't good, but I'm definitely not responsible for that #BlameXiaomeme.

After not even a whole day since making this project public, I'm releasing an update for it, making it now possible to record Mimoji videos of up to 30 seconds*.

download it, rename the .apk extension into .wtf extension, enjoy. :good:
It is crashing on my device. I m having htc desire 820 on android 6... What could be the reason... It opens but after some time it crashes and also nothing is shown in the square part..

Noticed a thing... When my phone is away from face... And i select any emoji, it starts showing in the square but as soon as i bring my face infront of the camera it crashes...

Working fine on redmi 4x running official lineageos15.1. Great work dev, so lit. It does not detect the tongue. Sometimes it glitches #xiaomeme haha. Overall, it works. Looking forward for the development in the future.
EDIT: just this morning, the mememoji turns black. I don't see the images just pure black. But it moves and records but the output is black.
I'm using Galaxy S8 with latest september patch in Oreo
It works well but recording is not working.

have you tried to sync some videos up and see if your google drive's space is being taken up?
Some or the custom ROMs that used to have this hack also displayed those claims, but didnt work at all

It sure can be used as a daily driver! it works great for me with no lag or issues at all, face unlock isn't working but fingerprint scanner is far more secure anyways.
(for some reason though when I take a photo it keeps saying HDR+ processing.)

The rom has a battery drain issue, my pocophone barely survives 4 hours with this rom.
(Usually it lasts 10 hours+)

Wrong! I tried flashing it and it says that it has unlimited storage, then asks if I want original quality on my drive storage or high quality
I had similar deal when i got lg g4 unlimited or many gb like 100 gb i dont remember, for 2 years. And when that pass you end up with blocked accaunt.
It is buy space or revert all photos from original quality to gain space...
Pocophone main camera is 12MP and google hi quality is 16MP, so i dont see the point?

I have found one more bug. "Styles and Wallpapers" crashes when you try to click on "Styles" to change the system color theme. Or it's only me who face this issue
First things first, tank you for working to bring this ROM for whydead whyred, i'm glad to comeback to PE. Now, i did not find any fatal bug so far, but it seems that the kernel don't support KCAL, and -you can guess it- my device has screen retention, if possible, can you please add support in the next release? Much obliged.

Encountered a really strange issue, cannot use apps like Tidal & Netflix when on wifi they say network issue, tried on mobile data it worked and after initial startup I can switch to wifi and use it.
Can confirm nothings wrong with my wifi I can use both on my computer just fine.
I got some problem with network..when I change 3G to 4G the LTE icon gone and the network connection connect and disconnect repeatedly..UI freezing problem are here..so far everything good for me..hope our new dev will solve every problem..

Smoothest ROM I've tried till this day. Great work, congratulations and thank you!
(just colors are a bit too much intense, especially with "boosted" mode, night light make the screen look like bloody horror )

Go to settings -> select sim card -> add APN. Then it will work
how about battery life with PE+? I'm using now evolution x and battery drain is massive, about 5-10% per hour with screen off

Dont know about PE+, but on this rom 2-3% per hour , still it depends on battery health,and how many apps you have installed on your device

Hey! I ran into a problem on this ROM, I can’t add my amazfit watch Stratos to the Zepp app.
And last night, the brightness auto-adjustment began to go crazy.
I'm sorry, problem is not this ROM. On other A12 ROM, watch is also not connected.
Another bug was found: several users of the ROM have problems playing music through bluetooth headphones. when you switch the track, the sound starts to go both to the headphones and from the speaker of the phone. (easy to repeat, run any player that can switch the audio output and change the output without stopping the song)

It takes whatever is wrong with the stock and throws it out the window. And the scrolling is also buttery smooth on web browsing especially if you install chrome as a third party app. You can add as much Google apps as you want. And have the best experience and for a sound mod I use is James dps magisk with the eq cranked all the way up with the convolver on the very wide setting. It's an amazing experience.
If you go to lineage os website you can download the firmware for lineage os but you have to use the jan beta build recovery to install.
Do you get the superior call screening that only Pixels get when using Lineage?
It is this feature alone that makes me stay with a Pixel as it is. If this is lost then it's no better than any other phone available today.
i seem to have better connection service yes. stock gives me issues when calling people like the phone disconnects. no issues so far.
I think @jaseman is referring to the call SCREENING, not quality (IE the ability to block useless calls). I never installed Lineage on any of my decices and i also wonder myself if you do keep all the "exclusive" features this device has.
For exemple, let's consider the camera app. @UltimateGamer83 can you confirm you have the SAME camera with all Pixel features activated ?

Working for me. Didn't do anything special either. It lets me select male or female voice .. if it doesn't allow you to, it doesn't work

LOS was always better in battery life then Stock roms. Used it on most OP devices I had. Pretty sure on Cheetah is the same.
Better than stock. Might stick with lineage os for now on and keep my phone heavily modded.
I have ran this software since November of last year and I can honestly say that the battery life is superb It works really really well.

You just have to check the LOS topic for our device. It says in the OP :
"For some reason, this ROM only needs the Displax SafetyNet Fix and Shamiko (or DenyList) on top of Magisk in order to pass SafetyNet/Play Integrity, which is a nice bonus. As of 11/17, I was able to use GPay with this ROM if you use Magisk, Shamiko, and Displax SafetyNet Fix."

That was in portrait mode. .5 works just fine in regular camera mode
