Since updating to android 9 my op6 has had alot of problems with the camera not opening, having to restart the app several Times to get it working again. This happens with both snapchat and the stock camera app. Is there any fix for this? Know issue?
I am running Blu kernel which might affect it aswell
Try google camera 6
It's better than the ****ty stock cam
Or try to install a new version from apkmirror

The camera was working fine until I updated to android 7.0. Every time I open the camera app it immediately crashes. Other camera apps seem to be working fine but the default camera app crashes. Has anyone else had this issue after the Nougat update? I tried resetting the phone and also clearing the cache with no luck.
I have the same problem too. It also affects snapchat, I cant open snaps. I also noticed that it deleted picture and music off of my g5. And I cannot record in the voice record app.
I have this issue too..... video recording is not working in camera and it's taking simple photo from camera app...... other feature like manual camera and pop out makes camera app stopped.
Have somebody fix this problem?

i think mine set is refurbished set...

After 7.0 update My Quick charge is not working and when my phone 15% charge down automatic location on.
hi guys,
i have a problem with my camera on Nexus 5. After starting camera app, it doesn´t load and phone restarts. Even in other apps using camera this problem occures (turning flash on too). I tried reinstaling rom, changing kernel and nothing helped. Is there any way to fix it?
You could need a new battery.
Battery was changed 6 months ago, i dont think this issue is caused by battery.
Which ROM and camera app are you using? I'm using the stock Marshmallow camera app with Lineage OS and stock kernel. I had to re-sign the camera package to keep it from being updated by Play, but it's been working perfectly. Lineage OS on the Nexus 5 is really nice.
AOSP 7.1.1 and Franco kernel. When issue had occured, i had AOSP and stock kernel i guess. I am using original camera app and phone restarts in whatsapp too, when i try to turn the camera on.
Hmm. My past experience with the camera causing restarts of both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 has been because of battery problems. Does it also restart if you launch the camera while the phone is plugged in to charge?
Yes, it does.
I have had no issues at all for almost an year with this phone. I was running oreo ever since I bought this phone. Suddenly, a day or two before upgrading it to pie 9.0, I found out in my Snapchat app that there was no back camera sign. First I thought, some weird snap update, but then I found out in system Camera app, it was even not showing the back camera. Whenever I would click on the rear camera sign from the top in Camera app, it would keep on swapping to the frontal secondary camera and then back to the primary frontal camera but no back camera was working. Also I found out that my Flashlight icon is hardened or greyed out, like it's been disabled forcefully. I can make it work using some other app, but it is frustrating why this is happening.
Now I am on android 9, rooted, and this problem keeps on coming and going. At times the back camera won't even work or open with the error "Camera not working" etc. Sometimes, the back camera would work but with only 3 weirded resolutions, like 12MP, 16MP, and some other. and the video mode will be extremely large or zoomed in at 16MP. Suddenly, the camera will start working normally again with all the perfect default resolutions. I tried everything from SAFE MODE to CLEARING THE CAM APP, RESETTING THE APP, but nothing works. All it seems like that camera has suddenly came to life and has a self-consciousness and a mood which it is controlling itself. Sometimes it wants to work and at times, it simply just gets disabled. Any idea what could be the problem? I am rooted using MAGISK.
Simular camera problems with Lenovo tab v7
I have a Lenovo tab v7 with almost the same problems, the rear camera wont work but occasionally the front camera works and the flash LED is dead.
Running Android 9 Pie as well, but not rooted yet.
Any ideas about what we can do about it, is the camera hardware due to be replaced?

It suddenly started happening almost a month ago, I was on oreo 8 and then upgraded to pie 9 but the problem persisted. It kept working for few days and then started to make problems again. I tried to read many forums for android users with the same problem but still haven't found a single complete fix for this problem other than that the rear camera needs to be refixed. But I am finding it hard to believe that even if camera was getting bad, there is no point of FlashLight getting greyed out/disable from the notification bar. It seems more like some kind of a process is not releasing the rear camera and flashlight module/process.
I recently decided to install a custom ROM in my Poco X3 Pro. I was on the latest MIUI version and I installed Pixel Experience Plu. The problem I am facing is that when I am using the front camera it flickers sometimes with some strange black lines exactly like in this other post
https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/pc4ov5
I've tried to install GCAM and the behavior was still there. I've tried installing ArrowOs 11 and in the GCAM that comes installed it does not happen, but it still occurs in other applications that use the camera, for instance WhatsApp videocalls, or Instagram...
In some Reddit post someone mentioned that if you turned off NFC it disappears, and I can confirm it works, but I don't want to be turning NFC off everytime I want to use the camera.
Does anyone know if there is any solution or is my only permanent fix going back to MIUI? I would not like this as I really like AOSP roms but it's a big inconvenience for me.
I'm facing an issue with my camera which I couldn't find anything about via a web search. So I would like to know if anyone experienced something similar?
I'm running the stock rom and didn't tinker with the phone.
Since yesterday my rear camera is really slow an only slowing blurred images. The whole phone seems to be running really slow and unable to handle the data. Switching to the front camera takes ages but once it's active it's working normally.
If I try to use the camera several times I end up with a black preview image. A reboot returns the camera to the previous laggy state.
Changing to a different camera app yields the same behavior. Could be an issue with the latest patch for Android 12 I i installed around the same time or my hardware is fried...

I would try a system reset if possible, I know its a pain but if it works problem solved, You could also try going back to a different build via android flash tool , just a couple of ideas although extreme ,would narrow it down even more to a hardware issue over corrupt software. Hth

I feared that I would have to do this. Factory reset and flashing an older version didn't help.
Now I can hear that something is moving inside when I shake the phone. Time to crack it open and have a look.
Thanks for the suggestions.
