Congrats! ??
Looking forward to your great work on this device!
Wow huge thanks! First thing I'm going to try after I unlock my a2's bootloader.
Is this for stock or custom roms, or both?
Thanks!

I've never flashed a custom kernel. What's the procedure? If I flash a custom Rom (AOSP Extended) when should I flash the kernel? After, before, during? Or does it not matter. Also. I would have to use the hex_a because the AOSP Extended Rom IS for the 6x?
I will take risk and try on mi6x

Cannot install in mi6x, i am using hex_a it says invalid partition. If you could do for single partition(slot-a) package i will test it.
Would this work on the Mi A2 Global on the new October Patch? Oh and is there a tutorial on how to install this Kernel?

Since the 6x isn't supported, you gotta change the anykernel.sh file in the zip and remove _a. It might not boot. Nobody tested it yet.

This recovery feature almost identical to official TWRP recovery for bullhead (including system image and EFS backup) + f2fs support (tested on /cache partition, compatible ROM/kernel needed). Aroma support need more test, AromaFM 2.00b7 working great so far.
Screenshot attached. AromaFM 2.00b7 seems work correctly, wrong color space for AromaFM 1.9.1 .

Tell me You can try it without a flash using "fastboot boot recovery.img" command. Touchscreen issue depend on your ROM kernel version, should be no problem for MIUI 7.2.1.0 or 7.2.3.0 or unofficial ROM with kernel built from Xiaomi source. Maybe I will build fully compatible kernel for stock ROM but currently I still focus on my own device tree source.

Alright!!! Let's get some decent ROMs, Android One lacks a bunch of functionalities I got used to on my previous OPX with LineageOS
Is there any dev cooking for mia2 lite ?
official twrp is in the works, lineage should come soon after
Got any source that official lineageos support is being considerer? The phone is on my wishlist atm (with another lineage-os supported model) and that's the kind of information that would make me choose it!

"should", most if not all treble roms have some bugs (e.g. camera) and it is not compareable to a custom rom built and optimized for a device (in terms of battery life, sot, perf, device specific mods and kernel optimizations, xiaomi did not build into theyr stock kernel).
I'm currently trying to build kernel source from xiaomi (with uber 4.9 TC) but get the following error:
"include/trace/events/msm_cam.h:19:21: fatal error: msm_isp.h: no such file or directory" though msm_isp.h is in the correct include folder. Found other kernel sources (oneplus5) with same problem which was solved by building the kernel inline (with oneplus oss aosp). Xiaomi does however, not provide a rom source. If anyone with more experience than me (i'm noob, also i dont work anything related to informatics/programming) could help this would be great.
edit: Building seems to work by defining output directory (make O=out <command>)

Sorry to kinda thread hijack the thread hijack, but I made a thread for Treble/GSI ROMs and people's experiences with them here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/how-to/using-gsi-how-experiences-gsis-using-t3838186
I'm still on stock for now, but I'm hoping some others could contribute to that thread! I will take some time at a later date to format the original post and add links ROMs that people have tried, and disclose what they report works and what doesn't.
Thank you <3
By flashing this kernel, you understand that:
You are flashing it on the right device
This kernel is flashed on the right ROM
I am not held responsible if permanent damage happens on your device
This is my new kernel for normal (HMP) and EAS Android 9 ROMs. This is not tested on Oreo so you do that at your own risk. The EAS kernel should not be used on non-EAS ROMs, please don't complain to me if you do.
Changes in r5:
Updated Linux 3.18.y
Minor code mumbo jumbo
Reset RCU to 3.18
Updated anykernel3
Fixed some log spam

EAS: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-fastest-android-phone-eas/amp/
Tl;dr: EAS is a new implementation to combine smooth ux/performance with minimum power. HMP is the normal stuff we use instead.
For an EAS kernel to work properly ROMs need to be optimised for EAS as well.

I have a Moto G turbo (Merlin) and i installed Havoc OS in it. Everything works fine except the Camera and the proximity sensor. Whenever I open camera it crashes. I have installed many camera apps and tried it. In the sock rom it used to work fine. Also when I get a call I get a call my screen turns blank and I am not able to attend it.
I think there is some problem with the vendor image cause whenever I switch off my phone and turn it on again it gives an error "
The vendor image does not match system. Please flash the MPDS24.107-56-1-28 vendor image for you device"
Please tell me a way to fix this. I searched for the vendor image in my stock rom but i just found a .xml file that has a similar name. I don't know how to flash an xml file. It would be gr8 if anyone could please provide me with the vendor image for my phone and tell me how to flash it so that I could get this error fixd and take photos again!!
I've never had to flash an .xml image but until you get a better answer there are other Roms you can try,
https://www.getdroidtips.com/custom-rom-moto-g3-turbo/
I am assuming that you are using HavocOS 2.x (pie) by Archer , i believe that the camera bug was resolved in future updates. And about the vendor image mismatch error, it is nothing to be worried about just ignore that (it is not causing the bugs). About the call issue it is something that I am unaware of. Also please dont wipe the vendor partition and there's no real need to flash stock.
I would highly recommend you to flash the latest official TWRP 3.4.0 by Althaf or SHRP 2.3.2 and then flash newer Q ROMs, Q is more stable than P for merlin and there aren't any bugs. There are lots of Q roms available (9-10) including Havoc and other official roms (LOS,AICP).

Are you using this one ?? This is the latest I haven't tested it yet. You will find RR by the same dev on AFH which too has good customization and should be bug free (again i haven't tested it yet, both were released yesterday), I use AICP (I am the maintainer) it has no issues.

And please switch to official TWRP and reflash the rom, the vendor TWRP is not required nor recommended.
also you might wanna join merlin community at TG @motog3turbo

Glad you got it running. If ever you need to update your TWRP and the phone is rooted just use the app,

Well, Thanks for the recommendation. I will sure try it soon.
I wanted to install GCam on my phone as it has really good photo processing capabilities. When I searched about it I came to know that I had to enable Camera2 API. So any idea on how to do it in my phone?? (Moto G Turbo - Merlin)
