Interesting Note 9 Cases NOT Available on Amazon - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Accessories

I wanted to see if I could get some of us to share all the interesting Note 9 cases that are NOT available on Amazon. Typically, I stick with Amazon for basically all my accessory needs for various things because of Prime and its convenience. Especially when it comes to returns. The customer support is spot on, at least in my experience. But I wonder if there's other outlets that have some interesting-looking options for cases for our Note 9 that may be worth checking out.
Every now and then I'll see some ads coming across my IG feed showcasing some N9 cases that I've never seen before. I don't know how legit these places are, so I've never visited the sites. I've seen basically every case available for the N9 on Amazon so now I want to do some exploring outside. Maybe some of y'all have taken a chance with a new outlet and come from it satisfied? Please share.

I tried (and returned) a case from Simply Carbon Fiber (SCF). The carbon fiber looked nice, but I wanted something substantial. The return policy wasn't concise and I had to fight to get my money back... they shorted me $8 when they were only supposed to withhold $3 (a restocking fee). I contacted PayPal (I used PP when I bought the case) to get $5 back. PayPal sided with me and I ended up getting $8 back instead of the $5 I was seeking
At my time of purchase, the UAG Monarch case wasn't on Amazon. It was at Best Buy (red and black) but I wanted black and I had to buy it from the UAG site.

I'm using Axessorize Proshield.

It is transparent, has raised corners, so protects the screen somewhat as well. Does not add to much thickness also.

Which one did you get? I am curious about the "Picadilly" clear case , and how that compares to the spigen clear cases.

That's so cool! I'm sure folks have been making biodegradable cases for a while but this is the first time I've become aware of them. Shame that it'll take until next year for them to make one for the N9.

Picadilly , very nice feeling in hand and good protection. However it turned yellowish on my note 8 version. I'm ordering a Battersea when available.

Merry Christmas!!!!
Very good cases. Bought the black one for myself a few months ago. It's my favorite case so far, and I have a bit of a case "problem," as I'm sure a lot of you do. It's also considerably lighter than you may think. The pictures seem to imply that it's far more bulky than it is.
Lol!
I never had a case problem until the S4.
Now it has become an addiction
Before the S4, I never even owned a single case.
But after the screen cracked on my S3 from a 12" drop onto concrete, and the crap I had to go through with Austrian, sending back a defective replacement and not having a 32gb model in blue available to send me, I said I'll be buying a case for my S4.
Even though I have Tmo insurance for loss, theft, breakage, etc, having a case may avoid needing any replacements, but with the $650 or so price tags of the S4, I carry insurance just in case.
The UAG is one of the most protective of cases in a very minimal form factory, although @&34.95, it is a little on the high side. The sale price is very good though.
I have the Scout, and just ordered the Maverick.
These are cheaper on amazon and a better deal if you are a prime member as well.

The Maverick/Ice case won't be available from Amazon directly until February.
It's only available from a third party on Amazon, which brings the price with shipping to $30.43
The other cases, even with free shipping (available with over $35 in orders, or with Prime) still don't beat the UAG prices with the $5 off, of $19.47, except for the Slate model which $18.16, but that's only if you can get free shipping.

Do these fit well? I'm always really skeptical when buying replacement battery covers for the S4 because it seems like they need to be so precisely made.

The fitment is excellent.
The locking tabs of these battery covers all snap into place tightly with no wiggle, along the entire cover perimeter.
The only thing which may be an issue, depending on the case you use, is that these covers are just a hair thicker than the stock cover due to the coating of paint. And I mean just a hair thicker.
For instance, there are no fitment issues with the UGA, Otterbox Commuter, Otterbox Defender, Speck Candyshell or Cynett Workmate Evolution cases. There is an issue with the Tech 21 Impact Mesh Smoke case because the Tech 21 fits very tightly with the stock cover, and has no clearance for the hair increase in thickness of the painted covers.
The Anker battery with NFC is slightly thicker than the stock battery, but the covers I linked to snap and fit fine, as do the stock battery covers.

Otterbox Defender Series Too Expensive ($70!)

Isn't this case too pricey?!
This is the only case you will ever need, guaranteed.
It is a little high. Your paying for top of the line. Port covers, holsters, lots of unique color choices and a screen protector. The case looks well made. For me note 2 I spent over 50 for my case and holster. The one I brought was good but this one looks better. I'd consider it if it had a kick stand.
The price should come down in a few months but I don't think it's really overpriced.
Or just grab a UAG case and get similar protection for half the price (and better looks).

It does have a kickstand... The Belt clip is a kickstand. If you pull it back the whole way it will snap into the kickstand position.

It's certainly pricier than other models but one thing they appear to have accounted for is the fingerprint scanner. It looks like the case is notched right below it. Fingerprint scan worked fine on my Note 4 until I threw the Spigen Tough Armor case on. Now I can't get a consistent swipe.

I used to have this case for the Galaxy S3. It was really sturdy but one thing I didn't like is how the TPU/rubber material eventually would not stick/pulled away from the phone and I had to keep pushing in that rubber/TPU material all the time. It was pretty pricey to have to deal with that type of problem.
When I got my Note 3, I tried a few cases and eventually stuck with the Urban Armor Gear. I kept it because it was sturdy, felt good in the hand, saw different drop tests on Youtube, and was Military drop-test certified. I kept that case and also the case with the Zero Lemon extended battery since it was sturdy, covered the ports, and looks to be able to take drops as well.
The Rubber/TPU material is something I never favored either, haha

If Otterbox fixed that issue, it would be the perfect case(although still pricey).
I would recommend the Urban Armor Gear if you haven't tried it before. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have covers for the ports, but it's still a great case. I had the white/Navigator case for the Note 3 and for the Note 4 I decided to order this one:

At first, before I ordered the UAG, there weren't many options for sturdy cases that were available, so I went with this one:

For all complaining about the TPU cover stretching out on an Otterbox, you know all you have to do is take a picture of it with your info and Otterbox sends you another outer case free of charge. On my S3, I had mine and my wife's outer case, holster etc... replaced multiple times even after a year. So for $59 you paying for lifetime of support and free replacement with minimum hoop jumping.

That case does come with a holster but according to the seller does not have a kickstand unfortunately. It is the only holster case I've been able to find with headphone, mini USB & S Pen port covers. I'm waiting until the 22nd when it's available fulfilled by Amazon to see if anything else becomes available and if not I'll order it.
It is possible that case will stand up in the landscape mode when the belt clip is rotated to align with the holster clip on the side. My BodyGlove ToughSuit does that and it was not listed as a feature on Amazon when I bought it.
I've read Otterbox reviews in the past that state their cases become loose and I think their price is ridiculous.
If you can wait one of the holster/case Platinum Series Best Buy sells is made by Seidio and has a kickstand. It's the Seido convert combo. Best Buy sells it for $20 less than Seidio.
http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-note-4-convert-case-holster-black-p/bd4-hkr4ssgt4-bk.htm
You can view it on Seidio's website for a different phone like the S5.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MP3OWVI?pc_redir=1413677796&robot_redir=1 another case similar to OB
I got a cheap TPU case till a good one with a holster gets in stock. I'm gonna try this one have it on order. A little mad cause it said it would be in stock 10/20 now they have pushed the date on me. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MJ...5_QL70&qid=1413735934&sr=8-13#ref=mp_s_a_1_13

Official Google case review and warning

Hi
Thought I would post my experiences of the official google case in more detail.
TLDR short version: It isnt worth the price, scratches easily and could easily scratch the phone. Approach with caution or not at all.
I bought the clear google case alongside my phone today. The case is not worth the premium cost. I know some believe that OEM cases are always over priced however I am not one of those people and tend to prefer official products.
Look
The case is not completely clear it is two tone, clear gloss at the top and matte frosted at the bottom. It looks OK especially if you want to preserve the two tone look of the design choice.
Size
Size is good, it is slim with a slight 'lay on the table' lip.
Feel
It feels very cheap, I would advise against purchasing the case on this issue alone. It has a slight 'lay on the table' design however it is this when your hand rubs against it that feels the most cheap and flimsy, not at all premium, more like $2 case.
Durability
Zero. Mine has already scratched on the gloss portion. I have had the case on for a couple of hours, on a desk and in my hand, as sterile and environment as would be possible. What is worse is the case is scratched on the inside. I only put the case on once and was careful to clean it before hand to check for any manufacturing debris. It hasnt been in a phone or a pocket yet. I am aware of course that debris can over time get into a hard case and you must mitigate against this but there has not been time for this.
Conclusion
Looks OK. Feels cheap and will scratch easily. However ultimately I wouldn't be comfortable putting my phone back in this case. I would be afraid that if this can happen so easily, the phone itself would get scratched up while in this case in no time at all.
I reached out to google to provide this feedback. There was nothing they could do and suggested I post feedback on the google forum as google listens to that. I do not see the merit in it that and despite this post, I am not really a complainer. I do however see merit in posting a review which may assist other people. It is after all an expensive phone going into a not cheap case.
TC
Any idea if the picture case is the same material? I ordered one of these a week ago.
@thetonyclifton
Can you send some pics of the case, the phone in it etc.
I agree, I got the case for Pixel XL. I like how slim it is, almost like there isn't a case on it. But mine appears to have some wear after just a day and a half. Sucks to have to look for a new case after dropping $30 on this Google one

I remember when i bought the nexus 6p and got the 35 dollar silicone case along with it. It is absolute waste, within a week material started getting faded and scratching. So i explained this to google and they allowed me to return it. I ended getting the Spigen Rugged Armor case for half the price and the quality is 100 times better. Same goes to my Pixel XL i already received the Spigen Rugged Armor case for it now just awaiting for the phone itself

I was disappointed in the build and value, then disappointed by the easy damage and then terrified it would damage the phone. A really bad case in my experience and I normally really like OEM cases. I got a Spigen liquid crystal and while it is a bit bigger and all glossy, it is a much better case for about a 5th of the price.

I didn't buy the case from Google I bought it from a bricks and mortar phone store who wouldn't return the case because it julooked like I scratched it, it did have a scratch on there as I said but that was half of my complaint with the case. I contacted Google as the manufacturer and they didn't want to know. I didn't expect my money back as I didn't pay them but did expect them to offer me a voucher or replacement to try and make amends.

I just filled my RMA too.
For a 45$ case, it's all scratched in under a week of getting in and out of my pants... It shouldn't scratch like that.
I've already order a Spigen one for 14$ instead of the 45$...
I can't add more pictures to my post but here's the scratch. I didn't put it on any hard surface, it was in my pants all day unless I used it, in my hand at home.

I don't know if I trust them with their estimate.
I got the bumper for my nexus 6P and pixel 2xl and it was my favorite.
I wanted it for my 3xl, which I ordered on announcement day last year, but by the time it was available I had bought a slew of other cases and didn't feel like spending any more. Especially since I only had plans on keeping the phone for a year.
I once again ordered the 4xl on announcement day and I'm trying to be patient but I've already ordered 3 other cases so they need to get with it and finish the bumper case already. A discount code would be nice too as it's not the cheapest case in the world.
Just checked their website again, looks like their bumper cases are now available for pre order with shipping around the end of November (so long goes the "early november" time frame they told me)

I don't know if I trust them with their estimate.

Totally agree with you here. Their website is now open for pre orders for the 4 XL but doesn't ship till the end of November, which is far too late for most people since other people would already have gone with some other case at this point.
I got a clear case temporarily hoping the bumper one will come out within the next week or so but looks like that won't happen at all :/
Just pre-ordered mine. Said Nov 29 estimated ship date.
+1 to everyone that recommended. Had it for my pixel 3xl and it's the best. Only negative the white won't stay white forever.
FYI. Case shipped today!

Please let us know how you like it.
I'm a big fan of these but as I've stated previously, I've already purchased (and gotten free) some other cases and I just don't need another.
And I'm never spending $40 so I have to pay the $5 shipping, which is annoying for a $25 item.
TIA

For something other than Rhinoshield, check out XXXXX. It's a case with a transparent back. I am assuming you didn't want a full case in order to preserve the looks of the phone. In that case, this could be a good alternative.
It has protection on the edges so that the phone can take a few drops easily. Plus its cheaper than Rhinoshield.

Thanks for the rec.
I was sent the Schnail case that some got for free and that's my "protection against all circumstances" case. It's surprisingly great!
I just ordered the Rhinoshield bumper case and should have it by Wednesday and that was my favorite on a few of my recent google phones.
I'm using my google fabric case since Saturday and I like it too.
I also have the ESR Mimic, which might be my favorite. The combo of slimness, tempered glass back and grippy tpu bumper is really nice.
I know, at the very least, the bumper will yellow eventually but it is a very nice case.
I also got a deal on the Totallee slim frosted clear and it's pretty cool too. Absolutely the slimmest case ever.
I obviously have a sickness that's shared by many on these forums. Please pray for me. Lol.
MOD EDIT: AFFILIATE LINK REMOVED

I used the Rinke on my Pixel 3XL and never had any issues. Dropped a few times, no damage.
I've tried a few cases with this Pixel 4XL but I'm back to the Rinke!
Also have the ESR mimic on order.
I got my rhinoshield case today and it's of course what you would expect. Fits perfectly and if minimal as can be. The buttons are crisp and very very easy to identify which I truly appreciate.
In short if you like a minimal bumper case that shows off your phone without taking anything away from it, look no further.
Anyone heard anything on the Ringke Onyx? Had this on my 2XL and 3XL, but they don't make it (yet) for the 4XL. The Fusion looks like too much for me and possibly a lint trap. I reached out to Ringke, but it's the weekend so won't likely hear anything back until next week. May have to start with the Spigen Rugged Armor.
I bought the UAG Plasma, its a little heavier than the Rinke but fits great and looks like it would be plenty of protection from a fall.
The crashguard has a lot more texture than last year

I absolutely agree!
So glad I ordered one. I had it for my nexus 6P and my pixel 2xl and loved it. Skipped it on my 3xl as I had too many cases and now I have it for my 4xl and the fit, look and protection is top notch. Highly recommend.
I have bought too many cases again so I try and spread them out and use them all.
I like the esr mimic. It feels and looks great with the tempered glass back.
The Totallee frosted clear case is scary thin, but feels great in your hand. Only protection is from scratches if laid on it's back.
The Schnail case I got for free and it's actually quite good. Incredible protection but I don't have much use for it.
I also got the google fabric case, which I also had for the 2xl and 3xl. It's not as good for the 4xl. The feel of the fabric is better but the fit is not as good. It's not as snug as the past 2. A little disappointing actually.
I wish they would hurry up and release it into the Amazon store. The one for the smaller 4 is there but not for the XL.

Anyone know of a case with a kickstand coming out for the OnePlus 8T? I hope so
The SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pros usually have a kickstand on them. I'd keep an eye on those on Amazon. They are pretty good for the price.

I just wish they'd included a case with this phone and not some blinged out water bottle that's apparently worth $100 as a free gift.
This Otterbox case is shipping now www.otterbox.com/en-us/oneplus-8t--5g/symmetry-series-case/77-81166.html
Not sure how these are but dbrand as their skin + grip/case is shipping in November. dbrand.com/shop/special-edition/teardown

Got a thread started here to gripe about it.

If you are in the US, call your local T-Mobile store and see what cases they have. That is probably the fastest way to get one right now. Most stores seem to have gotten some in. I got the tech21 evo clear but my store had the otterbox and soap bubble.
T-mobile has them listed on their website. Some of these like the tech21 aren't even listed on their own website.

I used to work for t-mobile and I tried for the longest time to get in communication with whoever picks the cases we sold in store/online trying to get them to sell uag cases.... I finally was told that uag specifically doesn't want their cases re-sold by 4rd parties and they want only sell direct to keep prices down
All of that to say I like uag even before I knew that. And I will always recommend a uag case

My thoughts exactly. I'm waiting for a Spigen Tough armour to be available before I order. I think I paid about £15 for the one for my OP7.
using the 1+ carbon case on silver 1+ 8T
Uag urban armor gear always worth the money everytime

Great choice, the Karbon Bumper was my best case ever, on my old op6. For my 8T, I ordered the Quantum Case, just because I want something new.

I had a wood grain bumper on my 6T and it did a great job of protecting it without being too grippy in the pocket. Looking forward to a little less anxiety about my phone next week
