OrionOS is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? ). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

First, thank you to devs for taking the time & effort to provide what looks like a nice Rom for our old grouper.
I would like to give this a whirl and I read your complete OP notes about the features, but didn't see 2 things I wanted to ask about first:
1- Is this f2fs ready for data and cache?
2- I see 2 mentions of double tap to sleep, but nothing about double tap (or sweep) to wake? Yes/no?
If the answer is no to the questions, is either in your plan of features in the near future? I must admit that once I got used to f2fs speed over time, and dt2w/sweep2wake to turn on, I can't live without either.

Ok I will update the OP with new added features and I tested the ROM only in ext4 .....f2fs may work
for double tap to sleep,you have to flash a custom kernel(DC-Kernel)

Hello dev, I have been on a flashing binge lately so did try Orion and wanted to report back to you. I am happy to say that it did install on my grouper over top of /cache and /data as F2FS.
As a small bug report there is something wrong with the display of the brightness slider, instead of being centered in the extended pulldown it goes off to the right out of visible range. Also there seemed to be problems with the auto-brightness, the screen varied quite a bit while sitting still in a room with inside lighting, and I was sure to not be blocking the light sensor with my hands.

We are aware of the brightness slider bug...it'll be fixed
About the light sensor,I'll look into it

When I click the link for gapps it starts itself on gapps for 5.1
I see the ROM is 6.0.1
is 5.1 just the default selection for that downloader or is that the apps were supposed to be using for this ROM instead of the 6 version?

5.1 is the default selection and 5.1 gapps aren't supposed to work with this ROM. Just manually select ARM>6.0>PICO and hit the download button. It should work.

A dumb question from someone who has been out of the flashing game for a long while and has lost his confidence, if you don't mind. I have the Nexus 7 2012 WiFi Only model. Will this ROM work with that? Also, do I have to upgrade TWRP before flashing? I only use the N7'12 as a Kindle Reader so I have no issues with performing a clean flash.

Have some problems with the Orions 2.3 build on my M7..
Here a list:
Whatsapp call, mic doesnt work in calls (other person cant here me, i hear them.)
In normal calls, when i push speaker/handsfree. There is now sound, i cant hear the other person. When setting handsfree off again, i hear the other person again.
No vibration when pushing home/back button's in lower black bar.
This is what i found after 1 day.. Hope u can help me out..:highfive::highfive:
Is there a way to change LTE to 4G in statusbar.? I know it is possible, but cant find the place to change it
And i miss some battery icons.? I like the round one with percentage in it
Now some positive things about the rom:
Feels quick
Layers (have to figure it out haha)
Battery looks good, lost +- 8% overnight in 9 hours.

I really like this rom so far, especially since somehow, other roms tend to unload my launcher from memory and it has to reload everytime I exit an app.
Been testing it for a day now and the only problem I've encountered so far is with the mic not working for apps (like the google app), phone calls are OK though.
As for the camera, I don't really use the built-in app (I have it frozen with TiBu), but the third-party camera app I'm using seems to work fine.

Banks dynamic , work fine for me

Bluetooth and Facebook as well as camera not working. (replaced with LG camera that works)
I cant find libsslx.so anywhere on the phone so i cant delete it...

Mobile screen is not clear when I lock the screen and stay in off. But everything works.What should I do??

Hello
Through this thread, i want to share with every one my progress of Lineage OS and Firehound ROM, built for Coolpad Note 3. Though there are many versions of Lineage already available for Coolpad Note 3, every has one or other other as bug. This is totally meant to clear every of those. In the start of my journey with the Nougat, i used to build the ROM with out including the vendor tree into the ROM source. I though that vendor could be extracted later based on the missing symbols ( This is the way i work any ways ).
But, i know that extracting the Vendor could be made easier. So, what i thought was to build a tree first and then a ROM from it ( Was successful in doing the same , Thanks to MAD and Ulefone Metal ).
After building the ROM successfully, there were two major things which i know i have to face.
1) To extract the proper vendor
2) To shim out the missing symbols ( If possible correct them )
Extracting the Vendor:
As mentioned earlier, the way i extract the vendor is to add all the files whose services are being activated in the Ramdisk. Initially i used to grep the /system/bin in the ramdisk and then added all the files which resulted ( From the stock ROM ).
Then i know that there are files which have to be used from the Lineage, So i made a shell script to delete the files which are in the Lineage OS ( built with out the vendor tree ) from the stock ROM .

This is the way i extract the Vendor. One should be able to analyze the bloat ware and remove them.
The basic patches required to build the rom are provided in the device tree, the later bug fixes have to attempted by the developer.
After booting the ROM, i found that the Hardware keys weren't vibrating. I found this a painful thing, so have started attempt to fix it.
I have had wrote a code which would handle the KeyEvent , KeyHandler has to be check properly for the bug, But i wanted to provide a temporary fix.
Later, My Friend Bhuvaneswaran made me realise that users should have an option to enable or disable the Hardware keys vibration. So i bounded my code with Haptic Feedback flag, Now user can decide if he wants the vibration or not
The device supports only 2 colors of the Notification LED, so i went with Stock LED colors ( Red while charging, Green when charge level greater then 90%, Green color for notification, Red color for Alerts). Those have been made to work in Custom ROMs also.
No give more effectiveness, i did port back the "Battery Fully Charged notification to the Nougat". Now its working totally great
The device support 2.4 GHz Band and 5.0 GHz band for the AP. But unfortunately 5.0 GHz isn't working, So i have disabled that band for a while.
TODO: Check why 5.0 GHz Band isn't working.
For users satisfaction, the kernel is provided with Fast Charge configurations. Users are requested to download Control Engine app by Team Innovative to control the AC levels and USB levels.

Update: Able to install by modifying the path of /system in updater-script, without flashing the recommended recovery (3.0.2-0) as I have recovery (3.0.2-1), the update of the recovery.

Recommendations and Warnings:
To install this ROM you will need to have a latest custom Recovery such as TWRP installed.
If you do not yet have latest TWRP (3.2.xx) for Lithium (only working one so far is the one developed by raupe and blunden. Find it at the official TWRP for lithium thread), do not flash this rom unless you want to be encrypted, decrypted, lose all yor storage and data and who knows what else

In this first release PROXIMITY DOESN'T WORK. Disabled it because fixes are not complete and break audio.
MS support's creating permanent problems for rom teams because of google, permissions and stuff. It should be properly working here, fixed it yesterday
Also, this is the first Oreo I try for lithium (haven't properly tested CrDroid or RR or AICP so maybe it works there) with full customizable navbar, something I personally appreciate as I HATE the default buttons positioning

Anyway people, if you are willing to try Firehound be advised: for some reason mobile standby battery drain is massive in this rom...
I might take it down while I work on it....

This may come as a surprise but I'm not a kernol tweaking man, I got advice from Ivan on settings and well what can I say except cool, I find no extra drain from data connection than any other ROM, no WiFi connection issues or data, so I'll stay here for at least till you find some other weird ROM.

I'm using 1, don't know if there's any difference but not noticing any high battery usage from data. 18% drop in 5 hours with high usage

Edit: i flashed and looks really good. Smooth and fast. i just having two problem.
1- when i set statusbar transprancy 255(full) still having some transprently.
2- not having any button option (long press, double tap etc)

Yes, you are right, but this is already the matter in the source code of the ROM itself. You need to contact the creators of this ROM.

In the standard app there is no such thing. You can install ACR.

Quite possibly, this was the last build. The main developers said they would no longer work on Oreo.
