Hi. Has anyone been able to unlock the new Huawei u8150 (Ideos)?
There are many online resources claiming to provide unlock code in 2-3 days after you provide them your IMEI & charge up to USD 35 but where's the fun in that?
Looking forward to all the geniuses here.

Is there any update available now, how can I unlock network for ideos. I read at one forum that if we root this device it will unlock itself from zong pakistan network. so we can use any sim with that set.
Someone confirm me, is it correct.

The only way to unlock is to get a unlock code online paying $$$.
You could try (at your own risk that is) flashing a stock U8150 firmware (I recommend/use the Australian Sales one) if you're sim locked. In my country, New Zealand, these phones have no sim lock.
Flashing a new rom will NOT unlock a phone. As far as I can understand, the lock is "stored" in the bootloader and as of yet no one has found (or tried to find) a way to unlock the boolaoder.

Man! I too am stuck with Carrier Lock from Zong. but while surfing, i got past gsmhosting.com through, where there is one forum that some guy is giving away free unloack codes. will keep posted if found out.. Sorry for the Half News!

That means what it says.. that is the firmware that comes with the German IDEOS.
And before you ask, installing that will NOT unlock your IDEOS... as I said before, the lock is "stored" in the bootloader, that is not modified/changed even if you install a new firmware/rom.
I can get you the unlock code via some site, but it will cost you approx. Rs. 3000/= more or less, which I think you will not find feasable.

Там разлачивают 8150, но местных операторов.
Смогут ли разлочить Ideos пакистанского оператора - не знаю.
Разлочка стоит 9$.

I FINALLY managed to get my Huawei Ideos U8150D locked to Ufone Pakistan unlocked via DC unlocker for FREE(Am succesfully using my old provider TELENOR now on my cell ), they are providing a free unlocking service for a BETA period and can be availed by via DC-unlocker dot com slash contacts ....click on the live chat button and ask them that you want to Beta test their unlocking client they'll provide you the software which will unlock your Ideos

How could it be region locked? What could be region locked on a WiFi model?
I would go for definite 'no', only sim cards can be region locked.

This model have a Knox Bootloader? If yes can be region locked about Rom. We can't install a European XX Rom over a ZH from HongKong for example.
Or no Knox on this devices.

you need a sim from asia, like - philippines / thailand and etc...
