Do the SnapDragon variants of the S8+ have root and BL unlock? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Sorry if this has been asked. I'm wondering if the S8+ SnapDragon variants have bootloader unlock and root yet. The S8+ has been out for a while now, so if they can't be unlocked, it's very likely that they will never be unlocked?
I'm wondering because I'm thinking about buying the S9+, but the SnapDragon variants do not have BL unlock and root, and I'm not sure if they *ever* will. I'm looking at the unlock status of the S8+ to kind of gauge the possibility of unlock with the S9+.
EDIT: Wow, even looking back at the S7, LineageOS is only supported on the Exynos models and none of the SnapDragons:

Opt for the exynos if you want bl unlock, the snapdragon variants are bl locked.

What models run on exynos? I have G955F single sim.

International s7 bootloader unlock

I'm trying to figure out what Samsung Galaxy s7 to buy, leaning towards the g930f due to the unlocked Sim...
Are all the g930f bootloader locked? But the international versions I'm assuming allow you to unlock the bootloader
Thanks
There's a twrp recovery for the 930f and 930w8 so it can't have a locked bootloader.

Any offical root for Galaxy s7 Sm-g930u?

I've had the Sm-g930u for a while now and irritated that there are no officials roots for it yet. Unlike its other variants. Im wondering if there ever will be a root for sm-g930u.
Oh the Snapdragon Variant, I think there's no way ( yet ) to root Snapdragon Variants as the bootloader cannot be unlocked and there is also no way the bootloader could be unlocked. I don't know what the US Carriers plan to do about this issue but for now the bootloader is not unlockable.

So which S6's can be bootloader unlocked?

I had to trade my S6 in 2016 because I couldnt stand not being able to flash custom roms via recovery, and at the time it was deemed nearly impossible to bootloader unlock an S6, especially since dev's were losing interest working around Exynos chip vs Qualcomm. But what about today? I see some threads talking about roms and TWRP and stuff which makes me think this phone was finally cracked? Is that so? Or is it only very particular variants? I remember there was like 1 model S6 that you could properly root if it had a very specific version of Android on it at the time, but if it was ever upgraded it was locked.
So which phones are bootloader/recovery installable? And what do I need to know version wise before buying one? (like are some versions blacklisted, to stay away from)
Bootloader is not locked on S6 except AT&T variant.

There is no way to unlock the bootloader at the moment.

Do you think there will be a way soon?
I highly doubt the bootloader for any USA phone will be unlocked soon. Just need to look at the s4, s5, s6, note 3, etc. which still have a locked bootloader after all these years.
Unless US carrier decide to feel charitable, it's not going to happen. They're the ones twisting Samsung's arm in the US market.

Question New S22 Ultra owner, OEM Unlock, Root

New here.
I just switched from a Pixel 5.
Rooting was easy there, but I'm struggling with this phone.
So I bought an Unlock S22 Ultra from Swappa, Snapdragon version SMS908U.
My OEM Unlock option will not show up.
Am I screwed as far as rooting?
Also if not, can I just manually flash stock firmware to get the option back?
There is no OEM unlock option on US S908U/U1, and you cannot unlock the bootloader.
You can unlock the bootloader only on the European Exynos model, so if that's what you need, you should sell this phone and buy the Exynos one.
Gotcha! Thanks for the answer!
