I have not seen any news for an updated version of the wireless model, but indeed they are launching a new headphone which is a wired Type C.

They wireless have a new model number but look exactly the same as the other ones. Maybe an updated charging port warp charge bigger battery or my hope BT 5.0 aptx hd. With even better sound stage.. we will soon see.

I got the newer model delivered yesterday (BT32B), and can see its still aptx not aptx HD. Do you know how I would check if they are BT 5.0?

Awaiting for the BEAST
That sounds amazing! With the beast I get the bass beast. Always have been a fan of OP ! Kudos to the team to live up to the expectation! Cool man ! Awaiting the next beast - OP6T! Will definitely upgrade ! :

Got my bullets wireless (newer model) 2 hour ago and I've been screwing with them since then. They're really nicely made, comfortable and the included "adaptors" (wings and ear tips) could probably have a slightly bigger option, or the biggest option could've been a bit bigger. But this is just nitpicking though. But we have to admit that the design is inspired by the Beats X which is not necessarily a bad thing because those are pretty great. They're a bit better in terms of quality, but the bullets wireless are really close to them and they're considerably cheaper . Oh, not to forget, the cable is a bit longer that I wanted, but it's ok.
Sound: they sound really good out of the box but I've never been satisfied with any headphones/earbuds I tried. For me the conclusion is drawn AFTER using them tweaked with Viper4Android. There's no listening to anything without V4A, which allows for a series of tweaks that makes the audio experience for MY ears and perception of what a great sound is.
Anyway, without V4A they sound pretty good, not exceptional but pretty good nonetheless. They're really loud and it's really nice that there is no distortion of sound at maximum volume.
With V4A and my favourite profile (tweaked a bit), they're pretty great. They can be even louder and the sound still doesn't distort, but that's just a bit of an extreme scenario to see what they're capable of because it's an unrealistic and no one would blow up their eardrums listening to music at that volume.
Mic quality, better that almost every other pair I tried. I dare to say it's better than my OP6's mic, but I need to test it in more environments than at home (indoors, outdoors).
The pause function when you stuck one earbud to the other is really useful.
And this last thing might seem a silly one, but ... Usb-C, baby. Finally I'm done with having to use 2 cables to charge my s#!t.
Anyway, I haven't spent but around 2 hours wit them, but it's enough to recommend them to anyone who wants something great for a relatively decent price. They're worth more , IMO, but I digress.
If you were thinking of getting a pair, go for it. You will NOT be dissapointed one bit.

It says 32b on mine. If it makes you feel any better, one of my friends has the 31b model (previous model) and there's no difference in sound at all, or build quality, etc. The 31b model even has clickier buttons than my pair so I'm pretty sure OnePlus hasn't improved anything in the last model. 32b is probably meant as a model name change because of the red wired pair of wireless bullets they released along the OP6T. So in terms of quality (etc) they're most probably the same. So don't worry, your model is identical to mine despite of what the model name says.

V4a improves everything. If you want overwhelming base, V4a will give you that, and as strong as the base you'll tweak to be, it won't distort, which shows that the Bullets Wireless are really capavle of providing marginally better sound than what they're giving out of the box.
I can't imagine using a phone without V4a installed. It's just too good to not have.

[Q] Anyone has tried Beyerdynamic MMX-101iE?

Hello everyone,
I found this headset Bayerdynamic MMX 101 iE accidentally just a while ago.
If anyone has tried it, can you please write your review here?
Edit: Is the sound quality good? Microphone quality? Compatibily with Desire?
http://europe.beyerdynamic.com/shop/hah/headphones-and-headsets/sports-and-on-the-way/mmx-101.html
This has caught my eyes since a few day ago but I can not find any reviews at all.
So, any words for this headset will be very appriciated since I need one right now.
Edit: Sorry misstyping by Beyerdynamic , it should be Bayerdynamic

Well...€99 still belongs to the middle class..there are still more with more expensive.
I think the price range between €70-€100 is the correct range for me, more than €100 is a bit too expensive.
Remember you get what you pay.
That type is competely new and there is still no real review available...perhaps I just have to wait for some time until the review is there.

I have found several good ones above €100 but I am not planning to go that high.
It was launched during the musikmesse/music fair just a while ago so..it's kinda new and still without any convincing review.
I will have to wait until there are more review.
Hi Im fairly new to these forums but i can tell you that you cant go wrong with these. I bought these about a week ago and have been nothing short of stunned by the quality. They have great bass and really crisp clear midrange. I would say that these are better than the sennheisers and klipschs s2i that i have.
One thing to note is that make you play around with the earbuds as if you get them wrong they sound really flat and dull so make sure you get them to seal in your ears properly.
It is also a coincidence, yesterday I met some in train on the way home after work.
I asked if I can use it for a couple of minutes in the train, and he said yes.
My review within a few minutes:
1. sound quality is incredible for the price.
2. mic is also good.
3. unfortunately, no volume control or whatsoever except a button to pick up and hang up the call. (not really a big problem, not really in need of a mic and pick up button anyway).
4. metal housing for the ear pieces is awesome.
5. the cable looks extremely fragile to me. it is thin, not braided, etc.
(I am not sure of getting this headset because of this. This is the biggest downside. My current in-ear headphone (Klipsch Image S3) has just given up or lost its life just last night, the cable got broken again. The warranty is still there, but I don't want to claim it for the third time. I just prefer a new one instead of waiting weeks for claiming. It must be something wrong with how I store the headphone in my bag ).
6. Ear plug/bud don't fit my ears perfectly, I have tried on the one attached tho'. (It could be another problem)
I also found Philips SHO9560 (O'Neal stretch). It looks super robust but doesn't have good sound relatively compared to mmx-101i. Its look is also very appealing.
Now, I'm confused.
Way too expensive for me.
For the same price (or cheaper) I would get headphones/earphones from already proven company: Sennheiser.
Update:
Phillips SHO9560 sounds teribble.
MMX101ie doesn't really fit my ear...it comes off often (unless I get the individual package, but it is too expensive)...I don't wanna get an in-ear anymore...getting something which fits my ear is just a matter of luck...
No AKG products fits my huge head size (honest), I like the sound of AKG K518 but it is too small for my head, tried also 430, 420, 520, etc....
This is official! I hate AKG! This company never thinks of people with huge head like me! It is discrimination!
Sony XD300, XD500...sounds dark (bass too strong, trebble not clear)
Dr. Dre Solo HD is too expensive for the quality I am getting.
I will look for some more...Sennheiser, Denon, Bose, etc....
What I hate is that Desire can not really pull Sennheiser PXC450 (I own one at home and I use it mostly during flights or at home)....volume gets too low even on max.
Sh*t it is not easy to find the correct one!
Late response!
I just found this thread after looking into the MMX101 iEs myself - what was your solution in the end? I really like these headphones and fortunately they fit my ears; unfortunately though, the mic and answer button did not work, so I'm having to send them back. Hopefully the replacements will work fine!
Did you settle on over-ear headphones in the end? Given your situation I would have recommended the Sony MDR-V500 - great headphones, excellent range, solid bass response which is punchy but doesn't overwhelm the mid-range, and amazingly cheap considering!
Hope you managed to get this sorted anyway.
I've got these. Nothing short of awesome. The sound quality at all levels is incredibly crisp and you don't use any equaliser settings/tweaks as the ear phones sort all that out for you. Had mine for two years now and need a new set and will definitely buy the same ones again.
Also get 3 pairs of different size buds depending on what suits your ear best.

That does not depend on OS (Android, iOS, Windows). The "problem" is different layout of rings on the 3.5mm connector with different phone manufacturers ("microphone" and "ground" rings are swapped). It's natively compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Blackberry and HTC. If you want them to work correctly with Nokia, Sony, Samsung, Motorola, LG and other models you have to buy a separate adaptor.
I bought V-Moda M100 in the end.
It is expensive but worth every single penny I spent

Headphones w/ mic

I just got my MT4GS and I really need to rom it, but I just got a great Trident case now I need some head phones with a mic.
Is there any issue with any new roms making any of the buttons nonoperational?
Do y'all have recommendations of good headphones with a microphone?

I've been using my Skullcandy that I got for free from T&C. People can even hear me when I'm riding my bike going about 30mph. Anything over that and it gets too windy. Also works well at the shooting range (I use it as ear protection there).
Overall I'm happy with them since they were free, but I've heard a lot more good things about the beats and bose earphones. Ya know, the ones that are actually supposed to noise cancel and stuff lol.

I found these Mee M31P earphones and I've been very impressed with them. The build quality is top-notch, and after a burn-in (I connected them to my old MP3 player and let it play at a loud volume continuously for about 24 hours), the sound quality is just amazing. Even at low volumes, you can still get the full spectrum with all the bass and treble you want. The mic works very well for calls. I lucked out and got them on a Woot-Off for $16, but even the $25 price on Amazon is well worth it. http://www.amazon.com/MEElectronics-M31P-BK-Headphones-Microphone-Smartphones/dp/B004OBZ2UO
I actually got these ”Smokin Buds” skullcandy earphones today, but after looking at the reviews I think I'm just gonna get another pair.
Apparently they break really easily, and I'm not a big fan of that.
I'll be sure to let you know when they break, but so far the sound is awesome. Only problem is that the button seems to push itself at 60+ mph. Irritating.

Thanks! Are you riding a motorcycle 60mph?
I like the idea of noise canceling headphones. I rooted and rommed to XMC's Jellybean, I love it (!), maybe I can try some headphones out at Bestbuy or something!
Heh yeah. Really irritating when it changes songs every three seconds by itself. I also don't think it was made to noise cancel, they just fit in my ears really well.
Personally, I think they have excellent sound. Next time I buy earphones, however, I'm going to read reviews first. I swear, if these break...hahaha =D!
What's your price range, OP? I go through a lot of different brands so I can give some insight.
Actually I wanna hear your recommendation as well. What do you suggest under 50 and 100 dollars?

These are going to be about the earbuds only because headsets are big as hell, and I find earbuds more convenient and cleaner looking. More people would probably fit more with earbuds because most people love convenience.
Under 100, but over 50:
Klipsh Image S4i's are really good. Why? Sound is clear, noise-isolated earbuds, and there is a nice 3 button control set up (volume, call/end call, play music, skip music, etc.). Also, the really good thing about the S4's is the microphone. There is an echo-cancelling feature to it which is a definite plus, and the sound quality of the bass is very good. The colorway of these earbuds is very simplistic as the color is finished with black and chrome. Very clean. Only flaw is the way the buttons take you out of applications, but if you press the buttons, wouldn't that mean you needed to call someone?
Klipsh S4A is good too...I like the S4i's better because it's cheaper and it's pretty much the same thing quality wise. However, you can probably find the S4A's for cheap if you look around.
Lady Gaga Heartbeats are good too. Very unique design to it, and the wire on it (the flat one) is pure quality because it's tangle free pretty much. Seems like it would never break. Sound is VERY good. There's a nice case that comes with this too. I think Monster made this... Monster is very high end, so their credibility should say a lot about these earphones. The microphone is alright though. It's clear, but what makes this headset good is the sound it produces.
Shure headsets are definitely some to look into, even with the lower end products. The design is definitely why I would recommend these to anyone. However, Klipsh ****s on this Shure in the under 100's class.
Etymotic Research MC3's are really nice, but not worth the price... It's a balanced headset, but lacks so much compared to the higher ended Etymotic headsets. I just put these here because I've tried this out.
Beats Audio cheap version...overrated /story. lol I love the hype with the Beats. Good brand, but so far, the Klipsh makes the Beats look crappy, and the Klipsh is cheaper.
Under 50:
MEElectronics brand in general. Good stuff for what it is. Can't really say anything. It's under 50 so why not, right? It's good for what it is.
Ultimate...more expensive but overrated.
NuForce NE-7M is a good headset to use. It's simplistic in style. Sound is very close to those that are under 100. This is definitely one of those earpieces that is made for the laid-back chilled out person. I like these a lot.
Skullcandy Ink'd...it's alright too. Lots of flaws. Wire is always tangled, and it looks cheesy. Sound isn't the best either. But it is what it is, and that's why its price reflects upon the headset in itself.
Skullcandy Smoking Buds are nice in design. Sound is good for what it is. It's kind of too loud though and doesn't seem balanced (for example, the high-end frequencies are very noticeable and it's annoying to hear). It's cheap and that's what matters. Also, the wire is very durable. This is my go-to if I needed something right away and my main headset broke (they have this in almost every retail store). Flaw with the Smoking Buds is the button. Microphone is clear, but the button is annoying. Only one button, which means no control settings to really use. It either opens up your music app, shuts down your music app, or makes a speed dial call to the last person you talked to.
Best choice for under 100 in general is the Klipsh. It's compatible with the Android (I would know ), and it allows control (which is what I think most people would want). The sound is pure quality, and the microphone is very clear. It's also durable, nice looking, and simple.
Best choice for under 50, I would go with the NuForce NE-7M. It's about exactly 50 dollars, but the sound is good for what it is, and it would suit most people who are always on the go and aren't able to cough up an extra 20 dollars for some Klipsh earphones. The design is very minimal, but's a good thing because it's a straight-to-the-point type of earphones to use.
Hopefully, this helps.
Thanks! I'll be looking into the Klipsh headphones for my next purchase. You seem to be well versed with earbuds (which I prefer, actually) and it's always good to read opinions.
As someone who rides every day, earbuds have become a commodity. It's the only way to entertain myself on long rides lol.
Thanks Gheng, you've given an excellent place to start, I don't really have any base to start from, I've been using the earbud/mic sets included with a phone. They have always been lacking in some way.
I'm going to look on Amazon for reviews on each of these models you've talked about to develop a matrix. :cyclops:
+1 Klipsch Image S4. I have the normal set of earbuds, and they are amazing. They still sound great even after a year of daily use. But the cable is fairly thin, so take care of them and they will take care of you.

No worries. I usually base my opinions off of actual experience and reviews from highly respected sources. It feels good to usually have almost the exact same opinions as most of these credible sources.

Are you guys with the Klipsch S4is able to have control of songs and calls? I've read random things about ROMs that don't support the functions of multi-button headset controllers? I have the JB rom with the CM 6 kernal (I think).
I believe Klipsch makes an Image S4 set called the S4A. Specifically for android devices. S4i is for the iPhone

Both work well on the MyTouch 4g Slide. I prefer the i's over the a's because of the experience I had with both. Plus, it was a bit better in price and sound.
I advise people to try out both if they can. Personal preference goes a long way.

I recommend Phonak Audeo earphones over the rest mentioned if you can find a deal on them. I know they have a version with the mic, but I don't know if they have music playback controls
I tried the Klipsh Image S4i's, they were great, but the extra buttons didn't work, just the one for pause/play/answer did. These worked really well, I liked the sound isolating function, I've never had these type of ear buds before, but really like them. I returned them due to the cost.

I have some MEElectronics M31P-BK that are really good, the sound quality after burning in for 24 hours is amazing for that price. Has only 1 button but that works to play/pause or accept calls. The sound is actually a little richer, to my ears, than the UrBeats by Monster that I just bought.

Stock earbuds?

Originally when the S4 came out, the other 3 members in my family were looking to upgrade their phones. They ended up getting the stock android earbuds with those S4s. I got my hands on them and they were the best earbuds I've ever used. Clear, high-quality sound with solid bass and a high ability to be EQ'd to personal preference, which is what I do whenever I listen to music (and now it sounds like **** without EQ). They even lasted me about 5-6 months each set, which included me playing basketball and dunking/generally playing all-out. They were everything I ever wanted.
Recently I made a purchase on cellularoutfitter.com, in which I purchased two sets of Samsung SGH-T528G OEM headphones, which look exactly the same.
Well, they're ****. They sound...muted and unclear, with a lack of balanced mid-high sound to give clarity and a profound lack of bass.
At this point, I'm not sure what to do. I'm guessing I purchased the wrong earbuds, but I'm not sure why the model number would make such a drastic difference in sound quality in comparison to what we got before when we bought SGH-I337 phones.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
You probably just got lucky the first time.
Or they reduced the quality of the earbuds to save money.
All I know is that, generally, people are not very fond of the stock earbuds that come with many devices.
I suggest you try them before buying anything.
The headset included with my s4 mini GT-i9195i bore the numbers:

I also loved my Stock Earphones that came with my old S3!!
You can try the Philips SHE3590, they sound kinda similar to the stock ones and they are cheap!!!

Agree. I always found the stock Samsung earbuds that come with most of the newer phones to have awesome sound and quality. Never got why people bought new ear buds as soon as they got their phones.
Lost mine, so had to buy a pair of Sony earbuds that cost 30, but got a discount. These things are bad ass, but would definitely just rock the stock ones if I didn't lose them.
Also, pretty sick that power amp makes ear buds. Definitely gonna the xiaomi ear buds a try. Amazing reviews, almost no bad reviews.

I rarely use stock earbuds, just because of preference. You can get an awesome set of earbuds from China for just a few pennies and I always feel less guilty if I trash them. If you want to go really cheap, check out the Rock Mula's. Well made, excellent sound quality. If you have a few more pounds, Xiaomi Piston's are probably the best earbuds you'll ever own for less than £20.

Wireless headphones?

So I know the Note 7 does not support aptX. I'm seeing Samsung list UHQ Audio as a feature. Is that a high bitrate streaming thing? I see the Samsung Level U Pro Bluetooth Wireless In-ear Headphones on amazon support it and is reviewed well. I know i've been disappointed by blutooth streaming in the past so i'm hoping this UHQ thing is a better alternative.
I have the over ear Level On Pro, with PowerAmp beta, I get flawless 24\192, wireless, play back. It is particularly good when playing native hi-res music from the SDCard. It is better then AptX. I have had many bluetooth headphones over the yeas and this is the best I've heard. I also have the Level U Pro when I need less gear. They are also quite an improvement over similar configured, behind the neck, equipment. UHQ is the real thing.
I'm using sennheiser pxc550 and they are very good quality. No issues at all.

Thanks, think i'll treat myself to the Level U Pro. I need something to play music while i'm working on cars and do prefer higher quality stuff.
Hows the range on the Level U? I grabbed some lg tone 810 last night and the range sucks. Step 5 feet away and it's crackling, 10 and it's searching to reconnect and in clear line of sight
If your looking for sound quality, my Bose SoundLink (Bluetooth) are amazing. And, you can use them for calls too.

Well I had the phone inside my car while I worked around it. I would guess I got like 10 feet away from it and had no issues. They sound great and were only 60 bucks off amazon.

I assume you need to have DVC disabled in poweramp settings, otherwise it might override UHQ?

which is odd, because Samsung did include some apt-x system files in the note 7 firmware.
why would they include the files, if they're not supporting the feature they're for.
i didn't find the apt-x reference at the time.I must have missed it. I have 3 APT-X headphones. UHQ is lots better.
Cant go wrong with bluebuds x2. I also use a UE Boom2 and love it... I am looking for completely wireless so im looking at Bragi right now. I have heard good things
I purchased a pair of Plantronic Backbeat Go2's almost 4 years ago for about $175.00 when there were only a few options out there for bluetooth in-ear stereo headphones. The sound quality is still top notch, the range is alright (I get a clear signal 20 - 25 ft from my phone), the battery life sucks (at the time 4 hours was phenomenal, though).
Most importantly, Plantronics customer service is unbeatable. They've replaced 2 pairs for me outside of the 12 month warranty period- the first was in response to a tweet where I praised the sound quality but was "bummed they called in quits after 16 months". The entire replacement process took place over twitter and I got a new pair within a week. The second just took another private message via twitter to the person that had previously contacted me, and I had another pair a few days later... Unfortunately, my lawn mower got the better of them this weekend.
At $39.00 on Amazon now, they're well worth it. I've got a pair on the way and am just waiting to test the Backbeat Go3's to determine whether I'll spring for a pair of those as well or go for the over-ear Backbeat Pro+.

Got those and Jaybirds x2, the UFO Plus are very good and has nice bass.
I've been using a pair of Olixar X2 Pro for about 6 months now, I'm not a sound quality nut but my dad is a bit of a sound snob and he was quite impressed with them
Absolutely no complaints from me and they were under $60 if iirc.
Thanks for all the replys and input . I ended up grabbing some Platonic backbeat fits.
I do construction and they stay on great with my daily activity. VERY comfortable when in ears and the range is great as well.
I had the LG tone 910s tandhe day before returned them , I couldn't get 5 feet from my phone without it crackling, 8 feet and I lost connection totally.

I got a kitsound manhattan wireless headphone and it sounded great. Bass doesn't break on the loudest volume and treble blends well.
But when I got my Sony SBH70 wireless earphones, I have the best audio experience ever. It's not bulky, sweatproof and lasts long.
I wonder if on the SD 820 variant the Aptx does work as I am suprised by the sound quality of my N9300 .

I bought them.as well. The platoncis felt great in ear first day. Second day sore as hell and bruised so I returned them for the level u pro

Does it still have potato speakers? Where is QC4.0?

Does anyone know if it's the same old speakers that Sony have used for the last couple of years? You know the ones that are so muffled and small that they might as well have put a better, louder single speaker in there?
And while we're at it: what's the deal with it being listed as not being Quick Charge 4.0 compatible? SD835 supports it and the power IC required was available before the 835 was.

Seems like they have improved the sound, but if you want even more you can just flash Divine Beats or Xtreme Music, the last one is optimized for dual speakers phones, about the Quick Charge 4.0, this function will come only at half 2017.

Yeah, I saw the QC4.0 news earlier. Seems Qualcomm had some issues. Sad to see it not make it for the first wave of devices.
Do you have a source on the improved sound?
Considering Sony's audio legacy they should have no trouble developing great speakers but it seems like they use the same components in every release instead of iterating on their speaker design.
I have a Z2 Tablet and the speakers aren't great, that's why I'm asking and why I'm baffled that reviewers keep highlighting the speakers as having the same problems for many years now; yet Sony does not do anything about it.

Unfortunately no sources, only the words of Sony (in fact I said... seems) I hope they are telling the truth, btw as I said you can just flash an audio mod to get the best audio experience, I have a potato speaker and with Xtreme Music I have now a powerful and clear audio especially with the headests.
I wonder if they can enable qc 4.0 with a software update later along the line?
And yes I'm hoping the speakers have improved, the ones on my Z3 are shocking!
No QC4 is disappointing. This is the third phone with the SD835 and all of them passed QC4.
I figure, if they wanted to follow Google's advice/orders and drop Quick Charge and use USB PD instead, then it wouldn't be so bad. But that's not the case at all, they're just using QC3.0
And I'm willing to bet it's not even at full 18W too.

QC4 will be available only in the next months, don't be angry every phone will support it, but for now no one.
