Thanks @Dev For bring us another rom for our device!!
this is certainly a wonderful surprise! i'll be flashing this tonight
also curious, do any VOLTE hacks have to be flashed like other Pie ROMs?
I haven't tested VoLTE as I don't have a VoLTE sim, but you can try. Without any hacks
Nice to see a fresh Pie ROM for our device!
Just one question: Weekly or Monthly updates?
Quickly clean flashed this rom. Stock dialer shows random favorites. There's no way to swap HW buttons (at least didn't find it). Titanium backup won't install, so I'm back to Havoc.

Titanium backup works fine here without issues and hw button swap is available under crdroid settings
The rom overall is pretty good, but it still miss the screen-off gestures and battery customizations.

Thanks for providing this great rom to us :highfive: I've been using the Oreo version for quite a while, it's definitly one of the best out there!
Fantastic first Build!!! Thanks @dev
Full customizable rom and very fast, Awsome!!!
Official websites says this roms builds are nightly, this is correct o are weekly?
Thanks for your efforts @dev!
Anybody have random favorites on dialer???
Maybe a dialer's bug???

I have this problem too, btw, on LOS 15.1 I haven't it!
Very annoying custom friction of scroll value on this ROM.
Chrome is lagging heavy, device is hot!
ROM builds are nightly, yes.
Random favorites, I have faced this issue on a couple of other PIE ROMs too, so yes, maybe a dialer bug.
No source changes were there yesterday, most probably expect an update today.

Nice work man but feature list of that GitHub page is giving error 404.
Is there navigation pil gesture.....quick settings row and column settings.... Any bugs?
awesome! Gotta try this one. Missed all the RR customizations since I switched to LOS 16. Crdroid is even better than RR in terms of customizations. Also is OTA working?
What features working in that rom?
Just installed. It's amazing, fluid, customizable and smooth! But, where is the music player man. Can't live without the cm music player :/

Leave it decrypted. Encryption is major issue with all pie roms.
After decryption,I found that decrypted device boot much faster..
External memory exfat not supported
Return to Oreo.

Thanks a lot.
In other pie based roms and also the previous builds of Crdroid there is a bug in dialer due to which while making outgoing calls it does not shows call duration. Is that bug has been patched in this build?
Thanking in anticipation.

Android 10 ofcourse.
Hi @legacy07
First of all, thanks for maintaining official crDroid for this phone. As I also mentioned already on your crDroid Pie thread earlier, I really like this ROM. It is based on LineageOS with added customizations which makes it quite a good combo.
However, most of the Custom ROMs here except for the Official LineageOS and Official ArrowOS, use a Kernel which is heavily deviated from the Linux-Stable one. For example, messing with Refresh Rate of screen or unnecessary overclocks (which I don't think actually work). I am not really a fan of such untested, unnecessary additions.
You seem to be using a relatively stable Kernel which seems to be in-line with Linux-Stable (in your Pie Builds). So, I wanted to know which Kernel are you using for this one? The source isn't mentioned here (at the time of writing this). Further, a source with commit history will be really appreciated.
There is one request of mine. Can you put out a standalone LineageOS or ArrowOS Kernel compiled for your crDroid? It would be helpful for guys like me if you don't want to ship that Kernel by default in your builds.
Once again, thanks for maintain such an Amazing ROM for our device.

Well, I haven't decided whether to continue with the kernel "katnis" which was used in pie builds. I made it just because I found some features I used seem missing in the Arrow kernel. In this initial build, i have used the kernel of lineageos. The future depends on the public opinion of this build, afterwards the source will be updated accordingly.
Will there be support for the "smart bar" of navigation buttons, as in Pie?

Crdroid always comes with a safehouse kernel which never supports smart/fast charging or such bleeding edge features. If you need the feature, change the kernel under your own risk

Found a bug where after some time the network traffic indicator is stuck at some values and does not refreshes even if we turn on and off the internet again.

Will there be support for the "smart bar" of navigation buttons, as in Pie?

And Navigation bar visibility toggle state won't remain after reboot.

I love crDroid but I can't figure out why 6.0 won't boot up if I remove system apps, even though Music, Mail and Browser which I could remove with no problem in 5.9.

Thanks for the info.
But I've tried many times but no luck.
I tried with System App Safe Remover.
Would you tell me how you removed the apps?

Clean flash only.
Excelent work @kevios12 . Thanks for that.
I flashed it clean initially, but it did not work well. So I had to reflash the latest stock ROM (from here), flash it with odin, the install TWRP 3.6_kevios, and only then install this image + BitGapps.
Working smoothly so far, really happy with it.
So far, the only functionality that does not seem to work is the "Automatic brightness" thing, but the rest seems even better than the previous crdroid release.
I flashed the ROM too. In the setup wizard it wasn't possible to set up the Google account and i couldn't find the option to restore my cloud backup in my Google Account, when i set it up later, but the ROM works really well!
Is it possible to set the theme to pure black?

New Update is Out!
Changelog 2022/01/15
* January Security Patch
* crDroidAndroid 8.1
Thanks for this great FW! It makes this A40 device really smooth again. Only experienced some WiFi dropouts with a connected FRITZ!Box 7590AX (WiFi ax, 2,4 and 5 GHz with WPA2/WPA3). And how can the Google Camera app be used (as the most easy camera interface I know)? Crashes after starting the app here.
Awsome work, Thank you very much for this rom. Only problem I've seen so far is not working screen auto brightness.
SM-A405FN
Also the problem with BitGapps is that it does not resinstall itself after installing an update. Nikkgapps does that, but I'm not sure it's compatible. Anybody?
Is it possible to have encrypted storage with this?
New Update is out!

Thank you.
Autobrightnes and deep sleep are working fine now.
P
Flashed the ROM yesterday. Great work, thanks a lot !
Unfortunately I went into bootloop at cr Droid logo after doing this: enabling adb debuging (USB and root), then additionally choosing "data transfer" (in German: Datenübertragung, I don't know, what's the correct term in English) in USB. The phone shut down after about 2 Mins I did this. After that no boot possible.
I have a logcat (2.8 MB .txt file). I tried to attach it. Unfortunately that doesn't work. I think it is because of the 10 posts rule. But I could send the logcat in another way, if anybody is interested (in this case please tell me how eg. mail...).
Thank you for this great work. After 10 days of trial , the ROM is adopted and I have updated to 8.2.
My main concern is sound volume which is too low. With a boost volume application (Volume Booster by Goodev) I can get good sound volume. My ROM is rooted and I wonder if it is possible to adjust sound volume permanently with some configuration and avoid to use a volume booster app.
ROM works like a charm - perfect!
If anyone has successfully tested a Gcam port on A40, it would almost complete this new life of A40 device.
Hello All,
I have already cdroid 7 on my wifes phone, but I see a little lag with UI (not ROM related)
Do this ROM has the same glitch/lag as above.
Is it a daily driver ROM,so no reboots or any other .

Hi, the ROM doesnt have any random reboots or anything else, sometimes ui lagg can be because the rom going to improve from month to month
Any tips on how I can edit Incoming text messages. Thank you.
