Are touch screen issues present on the latest October build when using TWRP? I know hyp and rpm were updated last month, just curious if that touch issues remains on this newer build in TWRP?
Does magisk work after this Update?
Sorry guys can't answer ur questions cause I'm on stock locked bootloader not planning on modifying my phone.
All i can say for now that the phone feel faster and scrolling is better.
Did you ever have bluetooth issues and if so, did the patch happen to address the issue?

Yes, no issues with Magisk. But, I came from a clean fastboot flash and redid twrp and Magisk.

I would lose connection to my car after a few minutes but other devices worked fine. With the October update I connected to my car no problem and it held for well over an hour a reconnected just fine after getting out and back in. So I would say yes, the patched helped my Bluetooth issues.
how do you apply the normal image through the other or through twrp or through what? Sorry

I don't know how this feature worked in Oreo because I bought the phone when Pie was released. But on Pie and Firefox I don't get any difference with the notch settings.

Maybe I'm blind and just don't see it, but what shall happen? Notch area has same color than the app, that's all what I notice. I believed e. g. the box where to enter the URL will be "behind" the notch or similar?
Edit: Maps works as my expectation: additional screen where the map is shown.

That's a separate thing with the YouTube app. Just expand the screen by stretching it with multitouch during video play.
I'm rooted with Magisk but keep saying "Stock Backup does not exist". How can I fix this??
Yup, "Use Notch" doesn't work like it did on Oreo, and now I cant go back to Oreo from Pie. I fastboot flash Orea and after booting to the setup screen touch is unresponsive. UGH..

You have to unlock critical partitions then reflash the fastboot files. The critical partitions house the touchscreen firmware.

just flash back to stock and reapply twrp and magisk. remember to use the twrp-sept.img as temp image.

hello together.
I`m on the beta 3 with unlocked bootloader.
When I try to install the update ota on the phone I get a installation error.
What could be the problem? Do I have to lock the bootloader to be able to install updates ota?
I know that I can sideload the ota update via fastboot but would like to be able to get ota updates directly on the phone.

Yes, as was mine. I always flash them through fastboot, I'm rooted and even when I wasn't I had issues with the latest radio not applying, OTA failing even though I unrooted etc. That's why in the post I said I just received the notification.

Has anyone else given it a go on this phone yet? So far I think its working pretty well, with only a couple slowdowns.
Has anyone else noticed a bit of a slowdown with wifi? Sometimes I have to kick it over to LTE to login to apps, even though I can run speed tests and things.
Just wanted to see what other people were experiencing with the beta, sorry if this the wrong place for this.
Other than poor "stand by" battery drainage for me, I think it works pretty good.
But, Android Q it's not on Pixel 3A, isn't it?

Not via OTA, you can pick up the system image from the website and flash it manually though.
As to the OP, I gave it a shot for a couple days but I kept getting a bug where I'd unlock the phone and just get a black screen so I got frustrated and flashed back lol I hope the OTA thats supposedly coming next month fixes it up so it could be a daily driver.
Thanks antp121

I've been running it for a few weeks. Side loaded the OTA as soon as I got the phone. They took down the OTA file but it's posted in this thread. I've had no issues other than a few apps not being comparable yet and there is no working Magisk out for Pixels 3/3a with Q beta.

Simply "opting out" of the beta by pressing the button on the web page will not change anything. But as soon as you (download and) install Pie, my guess is that it will erase everything including any esim profiles. When you go from one major release to another - especially a downgrade - the phone is typically going to be wiped completely. It purposefully erases all information to ensure there isn't any conflicts between the two OS versions.

Not really. You'll need to flash the November update with the -w removed, let it boot up, then put a copy of the November boot.img on your internal storage, then patch it with magisk. Then you'll need to fastboot your patched boot.img, and you should be good to go :good:

I noticed that they show one of the downloads available are specifically for Verizon and ATT. I have a Google Unlocked Device - but I am on ATT. Let me tell you what I did,it was by mistake that I fix it.
I was on May build with face id broken,I downloaded the June ota yesterday but by mistake I choose Telstra ota the one that end with 002.A1 and face id work.
Then I realized that the build number is wrong for my phone so I tried to flash the full June build the one that end with 001 and again face id stopped working so I decided to stay with Telstra build

Best advice I could give is to first patch the boot.img when all your magisk modules have either been disabled, or removed. Then dirty fastboot, (-w removed) the factory image to your inactive slot, let it boot up, then fastboot the magisk_patched.img to both slots. Also make sure your platform-tools are up to date. Best of luck to ya :good:

I was wondering if anyone knew about the partition schemes and whether there is enough room on the boot image to install custom recovery on the P4a?
The Pixel 3A did not have enough room on the RAM disk on the boot image. So installing TWRP, even a stripped down version compressed, on the P3a was a no-go.
Custom recovery was not necessary on the P3a. Just having and unlocked bootloader and root via Magisk gives a lot of options including custom ROMs.
However, I'm still curious if custom recovery will ever come to the P4a?

I know, it looks like TWRP has been doing a long slow death spiral.
We have TWRP on Android 10 for the Pixel C tablet. But of course among other things, there's no A/B partitions and Google abandoned support for the device a while ago.
Might be a while, pixel 3+ devices haven't had a 100% working TWRP for a long time.
They can still sideload ROMs and patch boot images with adb/fastboot

I can't find them either.
Isn't Android 11 going to make it more difficult to hide root anymore? I am tempted to root, but heard (or read) somewhere that with android 11 that it may not be worth it as any app (or something like that) will be able to see and not work.
