Oneplus 6 root qualcomm crash dump - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

So i recently updated to android pie. I rooted my Oneplus 6 a while ago, but it was removed with an OTA update. Now i'm in fastboot with an unlocked bootloader attempting to boot into twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img using the command "fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img". After doing this instead of taking me to the twrp menu it takes me to a qualcomm crash dump screen. Is there something i'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Same situation, same problem. I tried:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.85_op6.img
and still I end up in CrashDump Mode.

if you are on stock firmware, why do you want twrp? Unless you are going to aosp rom or want to decrypt the phone, twrp is not needed then.

There's no update through recovery and haha yeah lol. I love rooting and messing with things but I'm simply a teenage novice ? So not always the best with it all. Worst comes to worst I just wait for twrp to be released and fix it from there.

I'm sure there's a way without TWRP. I'd try to lend a hand but I've been away from OnePlus for so long I don't know how it's different than my Pixel 2 XL.
I'd dig around the OnePlus 5T forums. software wise, it should be the same. You'll probably find a quick solution over there. Good luck!
EDIT: Now I'm curious... Does anyone know if there is a way to lash a factory Oxygen OS image through fastboot commands? That would solve your problem, but I don't know if that's something specific to Pixel devices.
I hope u unlocked ur bootloader, also how the heck did u already soft brick

What did you even do to soft brick it? You could try fast boot flashing the boot.img again and see if it boots, get the one from the root thread if you're on the latest Oxygen OTA.

Did you try to flash stock boot img 5.1.5 in fastboot ?
EDIT : try to flash in both slots

fastboot flash boot_b boot.img

Downgrade from 9.0.2 to 9.0.1?

Hi, just tried to do this by flashing the old zip trough TWRP, but i always end to boot in recovery, maybe i'm doing something wrong...?
I tried this today and happened the same, i guess you have to clean flash to downgrade.
Also a tip, if you got stuck in recovery and yet cannot decrypt (doesn't ask for password/pin in TWRP), boot to fastboot mode, use the command "fastboot boot <the img file name for twrp>" so that you can boot directly to the img file from your PC. This way it will ask for your password.

You might try flashing again when you get booted back to TWRP. That way, you can get 9.01 flashed to both slots if it's not already. No guarantees, but it's worth a try.

Keyboard continuously crash 'cause the new gesture system, that have longer animations and the recent app one loses the vibration feedback and it' s also a lot confusing.
Anyway you can read the same things in the ota's thread, unfortunately are widespread problems

Can you link me to the exact fastboot rom you flashed? Some said I have to use the downgrade zip from OnePlus to Oreo 5.1.1 then only upgrade to 9.0.1. The OP of the fastboot rom said the rom is not for downgrading.
Did you downgrade to Oreo first or directly flash the 9.0.1 fastboot rom?

I've wiped everything, then downgraded to Pie directly, but I was in a slightly different situation (only fastboot available).
Just to be sure flash the Oreo one and then upgrade to Pie.
With the whole A/B partition layout it should be easier to downgrade too right?

Booting temporary into TWRP is possible. (please take a look at TWRP official page.) A big problem is that you can not decrypt the phone because of Android 9. Therefore it's useless.
Thread to TWRP on HTC U12+: https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-2-2-0-htc-t3819343
TWRP is only supported to security patch state 1 April 2019. I think it's version 1.53.

You mean I can use this method-

I am pretty sure I know my OS, but is there a way to find out?
I was running the stable, but flashing stock boot just led me to a boot loop with the Original Recovery, it's giving me options to
1. Wipe data and cache
2. Reboot to fastboot
3. Reboot to recovery
The fastboot flash commands above to flash stock OS didn't work, due to one error or another.
Anyhow, I had read somewhere fastboot continue works(here: it wasn't working before for me), so I tried that again, and now I am just stuck on 1+ Fastboot screen. I will wait it out to see if it boots into system.
Otherwise, I am thinking I reload fastboot and flash stock boot just like I did- and from there wipe data, but what do I expect then??
The way I see it, I am just stuck in some serious boot issue, and might eventually have to go down the path of msndownloadtool, any suggestion?

Flashing the stock boot.img should be enough to boot into system without problems because TWRP can't decrypt data in android 11.
In this point you can try a factory reset from stock recovery this will keep device files but will erase all your config and apps
To figure out what version of firmware you had you can run this command in fastboot
Fastboot getvar all

Flashing didn't work to boot into system, I was just getting stuck in the Recovery boot loop, it finally booted into system once I wiped my data(files, music, etc -option);
I did try factory reset, only once I cleared the partition, did the boot loop give way to boot into system;
It booted back to Android 11, but it's all glitchy: Boot taking too long, WiFi not switching on, Call not working, Data is working though- basically it's very screwed up, got a couple of errors too- it's like watching an amnesiac old person.. if you get the gist.
So, now I am considering a stable build from Oneplus support website as a local upgrade and booting back to that..
I am hard pressed for options, let me know if you think something else works better, thanks!

Any idea if we're gonna get one soon?

Question Need help with twrp

Alright I finally rooted my Google pixel 6a using the pixel flasher and it is a really nice tool. My problem now is this phone isn't supported on the twrp app.and I don't remember seeing the option to flash twrp from the pixel flasher. Any advice on where and how I would go about getting a recovery installed? Thanks

Pixel devices do not have dedicated recovery partitions, as Samsung devices do. The recovery kernel is in the boot image.
There is no need to flash TWRP on a Pixel device. If you want to use it, you can live boot it, but for the most part it's unnecessary because we can flash partitions directly from bootloader.

I think he means this, live booting into any TWRP img doesnt work, he is asking for where to find a custom recovery to live boot or whatever, right? @Kerrylee1738$$$
Yes that's right... I figured Google pixel 6a had twrp but after looking it didn't. Any advice on a alternative to TWRP would be greatly appreciated

Depending on what youre wanting it for, there isnt an alternative.
Using TWRP to flash a ROM on a phone is the only way I know how. Would ROM manager work on flashing this nitrogen ROM I downloaded?

You have to flash it with fastboot mode and stock or lineage recovery.
ROM's are flashed either via fastboot or as an OTA in recovery.
I decided just to wait for a twrp recovery to become available and started working on my xt2131-1 and OnePlus Nord device again.

TWRP will likely never be available for this device.
That's kinda disappointing
