Hey all,
This "small app" has recently become broken because the source for the currency file's URL has changed.
When the app is newly installed, it pops an error at first launch:
"Unable to download currency file. Please try again later".
It broke around mid-july 2018.
What I'm looking for is the latest available currency file so that the program can at least work (even if it can't update).
It should be located at:
Android/data/com.sony.smallapp.currency/files/
If someone could kindly .zip and upload the "files" folder here, it would be majorly helpful.
Thanks.

Just install any apk manager (I recommend this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp ) and uninstall your app, it will give u an error message that it couldn't uninstall, that's mean it successfully uninstalled it from your data root folder.
This should solve your problem..

It's mindblowing how off-topic you are, but thx I guess.
I support your request... It's a pity that this app doesn't works anymore for a simple error like this...

Hi,
I've created an application that help people to share their files over WIFI using HTTP or FTP. It's also a powerful file manager and SMB client, by installing one plugin, it also can mount SMB drive to your phone on rooted phones with custom firmware.
It's also an advanced app manager, it can list all your installed applications, you can backup them, uninstall them, support batch operation.
File Expert is open source software based on GPL v3.
Could you please give it a try and let me know your opinions or suggestions? Any questions are welcome.
File Expert is already on the Google Market to download for free. There's a donation dialog appears when you first run this app. No Ads.
BTW:
If you only need to browse SMB folder and copy files between phone and PC, there's no need to install that SMB plugin.
Seems really nice thanks.
Does support multilanguage and localization?
I can translate it to greek.
sw33t! it mounts SMB drives!
Most excellent

Problem mount smb with FileExpert
Hi
Are there any instructions for how to get the SMB mount to work with winxp? I've downloaded the plugin for smb mount in file expert, but can't get winxp to see the mounted drive for my Galaxy S.
My phone is rooted and the smb works from phone to laptop, i.e. I can see my shared folders from my laptop on the phone. However, it doesn't work the other way around.
I can't get my windows network to find the phone - I've tried:
\\192.168.1.202\mnt\sdcard
for the address, but it says share folder not found. I can ping the phone no problem from my laptop, so the IP address is ok. It must be the path to the folders which isn't right. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Many thanks
Steve
Can anyone post a copy of these GPL v3 licensed sources somewhere please ? (Last version before the license change or any version (as long as legally distributed under gplv3).

If obtained, source should be re-published on google code etc (I am interested as well!). There is really a need for a good opensource file manager. It's a pity that file expert did not continue that way.
I am trying to figure out how to install reader's hub ( i have asked several questions, but I can't get anyone to help me). I have a US Sprint Tab. Each time I try to download the files, they download unsucessfully, and give me the error message "content not supported". This seems to only be true for rar files, as I have downloaded the readers hub zip file just fine. I currently have apk installer, Explorer, and Andro zip installed. Can someone please help me???
Hi,
As far as im aware even though androzip supports the rar files, it does not associate itself with the samsung tab explorers launcher for that file type.
If you extract this in the androzip itself and then browse to the contents you extracted that should work that way.
Wish you luck, let us know how you get on

Thanks for your reply. I would love to try thatm, but the tab wont even let me download the file. The thing is, I already have the files I need to get the readers hub, but I can't get it to install. Well, I can install the press Display and the Kobo, but the readers hub wont install. And although the Press Display and Kobo say they are installed, I don't see them anywhere on my tab.
Ahh OK, sorry to have misread the problem ...Have you access to a PC? as you could download and send. ...if not link me up ill download and make it a zip for you (my racing team dr-ukr has a server i can upload to for storage).
Alternatively try another browser, i've not yet tried the others but mayb it's jsut the Samsung modded browser that cannot support the download?
Ill post back if i get to test that first in Dolphin HD/Opera/Fennec beta etc..

Do I have to root my tab in order to install readers hub? Now I'm reading the rooting app has been removed, so rooting may not be possible.
Sorry i do not know about rooting, i am still on stock firmware and not wanting to blow my warranty yet. (allthough it will happen in the end) ... i have my nokia n900 for all the playing about for now (i'm confident with it and the tab is my first android).
Wish you luck and pretty sure the others here will help out

I was having the same problem. I tried opera browser and it let me download the files. The stock browser is junk.
Go to market and download "Download all Files", works perfect on GT.

Not sure, what is HSPL4, but by doing a quick Google search, the below link showed up:
[FEB.20.11][DFT] HSPL4 - hTC HD2 LEO [DOWNLOAD]
If this is what you were looking for, please refer.
I have seen that there are a lot of questions on how to be able to multi touch in App Inventor 2. As you may know already, App Inventor 2 does not support multitouch natively. But you can use a workaround so that your app will have multitouch capabilities in the final .apk.
This method will work for 2 or more different objects such as 2 buttons, 2 canvases, 2 sliders etc. It will NOT work for the same canvas.
What you need:
1. An App Inventor 2 project with at least 2 buttons, canvas, sliders etc
2. AppToMarket_v32 (the most recent at this moment of posting): https://code.google.com/p/apptomarket/downloads/list
Steps:
1. After you have created your app, build it and save it to your computer in .apk format
2. Download AppToMarket_v32, extract the files from the archive and place it somewhere you will find it easily
3. In the AppToMarket folder, open runMeWindows_v32.bat, This will open a command window that will then open the program.
4. Once you have the app open, enter whatever you want in the Certificate Details tab, then click "Generate"
5. Go to the next tab (De/Re compile and wrap-up), click "Browse" and point the path to your apk, then click "Decompile"
6. In the "Features" menu below, change the "Min SDK Ver" to 5 and "Target SDK Ver" to 11. If you don't want your app to be resized, change the slider to "Normal"
7. Click on the "Update Manifest" and "Create New .apk"
8. DONE! Your new apk is in the same folder as your old one, but with the name changed (apkname_new.apk)
If you want, I can make a youtube video with step-by-step instructions on how to do everithing I said above. Just say it in the comments.
.APK can't be decompiled
I have a problem:
When I press "decompile", I get the error "ERROR: Unable to decompile your .apk file". I tried downloading it again from the App Inventor page, but it gave me the same error over and over again. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Are you sure you have generated and saved the certificate details? Try and put other detailes there and click generate, it doesn't matter what you write there as long as you don't plan on selling the app on the market. Also, is your path to the apk file correct?
hi, thanks for the guide, but i have a problem, when i try to install the new apk in my android, i have a error, in the package analisys.
i read that downloading from drive was tha solution but not, i still have the same error, i try to install the apk of app inventor to be sure, and this apk install without problems.
do you have any idea of the solution for this problem?
thanks a lot for your help.
sorry for my english
Hi, sorry for responding late. Try signing the apk after you create it (there is a button which says Sign Apk in the right)
Hi!
I have followed the steps of the guide (thanks for it!), but I had a problem while modifying the SDK version. Using the fields for Min SDK Ver and Target SDK Ver adds nothing to the manifest, so I tried writing it by hand:
I've tried to edit the manifest with AppToMarket as indicated in Gareth's post and other guides I've found, but when I add the line <uses-sdk android:targetSdkVersion=11 /> AppToMarket gives and error while rebuilding the APK and doesn't create the new file. I added this to the manifest file:
...
<uses-sdk
android:minSdkVersion=5
android:targetSdkVersion=11 />
</manifest>
But when I add this, AppToMarket shows an error while creating the new .apk (no more info, just says there has been an error).
There is another issue. No matter which size I put on the slider, it always resizes my app...
Any idea about why is this happening and how to fix it?
Thank you !

Dear friend,
Thank you for your tutorial. But, can't install the app. "Invalid application, Stop Installation". :crying:
I'm using the "App to Makert V4.0". I can't find the "32 version" , seems "deleted" . My smartphone for test has the android version: 4.1.2 and Kernel 3.4.0.
Thank you.
I have followed the steps of the guide and installed to my smartphone successfully.
But it still can't multitouch two canvas at the same time.
What is the problem may happened?

Thanks much for your reply stathis, sadly that doesn't fix it.
If your device is rooted, could you copy and upload the following folder as well:
/data/data/com.sony.smallapp.currency/
I believe something in the .xml changes when the soft has successfully downloaded the .csv file by itself.
Thank you.
This is only found ..i hope work

It worked finally!
Also while the app's internal update mechanism is broken, we can update manually, here is the most recent currency database file :
https://www4.bcb.gov.br/Download/fechamento/20180927.csv
Thank you again for your help!
Here's how to update manually:
1. Download the newest .csv file from: https://ptax.bcb.gov.br/ptax_internet/consultarTodasAsMoedas.do?method=consultaTodasMoedas
2. Delete the old .csv file and copy the new .csv file in:
Android/data/com.sony.smallapp.currency/files/
3. Disable WiFi, then launch Currency Converter app. It'll detect and use the newest .csv
4. Done!
