Hello guys,
i would like to ask you for help with this problem.
I have Xtreamer SideWinder4 on Android 4.2.2, there is this specs:
Chipset:
Processor: Dual-Core AML8726 Mx-D (AMLOGIC) ARM Cortex-A9 dual core/1.5GHZ
Memory:
FLASH: 8GB NAND Flash (32M bit nor flash+32GbitMLC flash)
SDRAM: 1GB DDR3
1. If i switch audio track in mkv movie, then it play both audio together. It´s mean first audio track (usualy Enghlish) and second one(for which i want switch) together. I have tried some things to solve it out like tick on/off s/w audio, play with s/w or h/w, with or without custom codecs but nothing helps. If i play the movie with s/w then audio is ok (it just play selected audio), but video is not smooth and it´s very slow. If i switch for h/w than video is great, but there is the problem with double audio.
2. I can´t use h/w+ as it says everytime " this file can´t be played with h/w+". I don´t know why. I am using Mx player on my tablet(with cortex A9 quad core) as well and there is no any problem with it. I can play there movie with h/w+ and switch audio track with no problem.
Any ideas please how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance.
How about using audio with S/W?

I have tried already, but no change. If i use s/w for audio and h/w for video then it play only first audio track even i have switched to second audio track. If i use h/w for both(video and audio) then it play both audio track together.

If it possible upload a sample clip?
Here is the movie info, but i have same problem with all movies as well. I can play only first audio track in each movie with no problem. If i want switch it, than there is problem.
Mx player show me all audio tracks which are include in movie and i can select any of them.
By me the main problem is that i can´t use h/w+. On my tablet i am using h/w+ and there is no problem like on this Xtreamer.

Have you enabled H/W audio track selecectable in Settings》Decoder..?
Try again after disabling it. It may cause problem in some devices. It's better to keep it disabled in your case since you have problem only in H/W mode.
If it's still not working, Enable S/W audio in Settings 》Decoder & Try to play it in H/W decoder. By this you can play video in H/W & audio in S/W.
Try the both combination (H/W audio track selecectable is disabled & S/W audio is enabled)
Note:
After changing the settings, when it ask to resume don't resume & select start over. Else it will use the previously used decoder settings.

Hi, thanks for reply.
I have tried the options what you wrote me, but no change. In H/W decoder video play great, but it´s play only first audio track, even if i select second one still play the first.
In S/W decoder audio play great, i can select audio track with no problem, but video doesn´t play smooth. It play very slow.
So i really don´t know what else it can be.

have you tried the thinks that I have mentioned in my previous reply?
Your reply is same as what your have reported earlier.
1. Have you tried the same after disabling H/W audio track selecectable from Settings 》Decoder ?
2. Have you tried in H/W mode after enabling S/W audio from Settings 》Decoder ? (First enable S/W audio then change the track)
3. Try Both together.
As I have already told don't resume after changing anything on settings 》decoder. Else it will use the same settings when you have used earlier.

can you post the screenshot of video properties window (after enabling more)?
It will be better if you can post the logs as well.
Previous log doesn't contains any playback information. Logs must be collected immediately after playback.
Just play the video that has issue, if you are getting double audio close the video & Immediately go to Help >> Bug Report
Save the logs & attach here.

Hello,
I seem to have this same issue. For video files with multiple audio streams, if I select H/W decoding I cannot switch between audio tracks. I didn't investigate which audio track MX Player is processing. Probably it's the first one it can find in the file.
If I switch to S/W decoding, this problem goes away (i.e. I can switch audio tracks), however the S/W decoding is very slow and watching the video in this mode is impossible on my device. Also, I absolutely need the H/W decoding for sound because my device is doing DTS and AC3 multichannel passthrough for my AV receiver and 5.1 audio system.
I'm using the ARM v7 codec (auto requested by MX Player). My device is a HiMedia Q5 with an ARM Cortex9 core.
Many thanks for any updates!
Best regards,
Marian.

One more update for this one: I have the same problem with embedded subtitle tracks. When in H/W decoding MX Player doesn't play, nor can I select embedded subtitle streams. This, however, works in S/W decoding (just like the audio track selection).
Please also note that external subtitles work just fine (in both S/W and H/W decoding modes).
Can we get a confirmation of this bug in

?
Thank you,
Marian.
[Bug Report] MicroDVD subtitles don't work on MKV videos after in version >= 1.7.33
After updating to version 1.7.33 or 1.7.34 the MicroDVD subtitles on MKV videos aren't showing.
SRT subtitles wok well, MP4 videos with MicroDVD subtitles work well too.
Example video file:
Video stream:
Sub type: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC
FourCC: AVC1 (H.264/MPEG-4)
Bit planes: 12
Dimensions: 1280x720
AvgTimePerFrame: 417083
FPS: 23,98
Audio stream:
Major type: Audio
Sub type: DOLBY_AC3
Channels: 6
Audio tag: 0x2000 (Dolby AC3 / FAST Multimedia AG DVM)
Frequence: 48000 Hz
Bitrate: 1536000
Are you getting sound? Did you install any custom codec?
It depends on the device. On my TV Dongle (Rikomagic MK802IIIS8G(B) - RK3066 procerssor) I have sound but MicroDVD subtitles don't work.
On my phone (HTC One S Z520e - MSM8260A procerssor) I don't have sound in H/W mode,
must use S/W audio (custom codec v7 NEON 1.7.32) but the MicroDVD subtitles don't work either...
Does the subtitle file have the same name and is in the same folder with the video you are trying to play?
Yes, it is... I've reverted back to 1.7.32 and everything works ok. On 1.7.33 and 1.7.34 it doesn't.
I've noticed that when I jump a few minutes forward on the movie a random subtitle is shown, but it doesn't change for correct one.
One important thing. I'm streaming this videos from Windows share on my computer.
I'm doing this with ES File Explorer using Samba protocol. Nevertheless the SRT subtitles work well in this config...
Did you check settings>subtitles>enable subtitles?
Yup, it's enabled. I've tried different settings with my TV dongle. In pure S/W mode the subtitles work, they also work in H/W+ mode.
But in H/W mode the don't. I don't have custom codec but I have sound so I presume that my dongle has AC3 codec built in the firmware.

Does MX Player lists the subtitle when you start in H/W decoder?
If it's loaded it will show a symbol.
If it's not showing, do the following
Start playing in HW decoder (you won't get subtitle as per your statement), then try in H/W+ (you may get subtitle). Now close the video & immediately goto Help | Bug Report. Save the logs and upload here.
For what container formats do the MicroDVD subtitles not show? Mp4? Mkv? Both?

Hello all,
I am trying to make my new Philips TV play 4k HEVC videos but am having no luck with smooth playback.
MX Player seems to do the best job but stalls eventually. HW+ decoder kicks in to do the playback.
Short version of TV specs:
SoC Mediatek MT5596A
CPU ARM Cortex-A53
GPU ARM Mali-T860 MP2
Android 6
I collected MX player logs while the video was choppy and can send if required.
Can anyone tell me if my device is supported or am I wasting time on MX Player ?
Thanks

What about HW decoder?
HW & HW+ decoder basically uses system decoders which are built into the firmware.
If HW decoder doesn't work and HW+ lags, probably your system decoders couldn't decode the video at that particular encoding profile. Can you share the logs here? We may have to look at the logs in order to understand the issue better.

Hello and thanks,
The thing is that built-in TV video player does not work with x265 videos. I have tried VLC which performs terribly. I guess it uses SW decocoding and can't even play 1080p smoothly with x265 encoding.
Archos is really slick and works well with 1080p x265 but lags on 4K. The speed of 4K playback with Archos is the same as for MX Player with HW decoder. Only HW+ will play smoothly but it eventually stalls to a point of 1 frame per seconds as if some error is encountered (always at the same point in movie). Any attempt to rewind will kill 4K playback smoothness and menu operations often result in MX Player crashing.

Hi,
This is not a bug. This is the behavioural change to prevent the crashes caused by the force hardware acceleration on the unsupported devices. Moreover, it is not necessary that the OEMs will implement the decoders for all codecs, profiles supported by the chipset. Many Major OEMs do not implement the 10bit support just to save some royalties. In contrast, some OEMs implement the support silently. But, do not expose them in the media capabilities. So, Most of the time, the chipset secs are useless in this aspect.
As we have mentioned in your another thread, you can still enable the 10bit supports manually if the device doesn't explicitly support the 10bit profiles. If it is reported, it will be automatically enabled.
Hello everyone, lately I was watching this thread: sticky-mx-player-10-bit-video-discussion-t2725241.
From what I've seen is that a lot of people were asking for list of compatible devices
So the main goal is to create a Google/Excel sheet with all the infos.
The sheet will be available when I will have some devices reported.
You want to contribute ?
To do that I prepared 5 videos for you

AVC = H264, x264
HEVC = h265, x265
2160P = 4K
All of these video have 30FPS. Why did I choose 30 FPS instead of 23 or 25 ? It's because in 98% of the sockets/cpus/apus/gpus/whatever spec sheet, they rate their device 30FPS or 60FPS ready and since animes, movies and series are all sub 30FPS that why I choose that.
What about the chroma subsampling 4:2:0 ? Nearly all movies you can find use this subsampling.
1. Update your phone/tablet and MX player to the latest version available and disable the battery saver.
2. Download the videos from this link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Tn4kL8qoZN9gMaohIefoZquVNwH93HjA?usp=sharing
3. Play the videos.
While playing the videos try switching to HW+ if gives you an error try HW and if stills says an error it means your device cannot hard decode the file. So put SW accordingly
I am in SW and it keeps lagging/crashing/struggle to keep the framerate!! It means that your device not powerful enough to soft decode the file. So put NW accordingly - NW stands for Not watchable
If you device plays HW nicely but not HW+ - put HW accordingly
