Google Timeline buggy - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hello all. My google timeline recently bugged. It shows no places visited for my main account and all my visited places in my other Google account. There are others with the same problem that I found in the web. What I noticed about them is that a lot of them have Huawei phones. I didn't include "Huawei" in my google search. Did anyone else experience this issue? I plan to grab a cheap Mate 10 pro in the future so I'm worried that this is a Huawei problem. It may be a bug with local guides because it looks like most of the people with the issue (including me) are local guides.
Here are the google forums where they discuss the problem:

[Q] GPS,GLONASS,Navigon India,Offline Maps,Voice guided navigation,Google Earth

Condensing into one thread various queries on above subject :
1) Is MB865 capable of GLONASS or is it a hardware specific feature?
2) Why is Google Earth not available for India in Google Play when we can use it on the pc here? (just looking for thoughts / comments)
3) Why is voice guided navigation not provided for India (Garmin Navigon, Nokia Maps have it & Nokia also has a Nokia Maps multi platform mobile browser app) - (just looking for thoughts / comments)
4) Can anybody specifically share their experience for Navigon India as they are charging mucho bucks for their apps & need to know is it worth??
5) What according to you (especially senior members) are your favorite offline maps apps?? Share the names please.
6) Any other GPS tips / tricks would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I could be incorrect... but I believe that you would need a GLONASS chipset in order to access that Satellite Coordinate system
Please someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
On the lack of Google Services in India... look around for some articles on this... there just may be one that explains the lack of said services... either that or Google just hasn't worked out a deal yet.
I don't live in India, so not much help on the Navigation quality of India Maps....
Oh... and Google Maps has a caching ability builtin to the Labs in Settings. This should cache a 10 mile area that is selected.
Hope this info helps and good luck finding a Nav software you like!!!!

@nephillim - came across an article on the forum somewhere on an modified "Play" store app allowing install options for countries not included for some some app's (but beta bugs & hence not so keen). Appreciate your other inputs. Thanks!

[Completed] OSMand

Hey there, I was using OsmAnd for a cupple of weeks, but I have a great problem with it.. I love the feature, that it's totally offline and provides a huge database of Addresses and Pons, but I live in Europe and we use a bit different address format :
Street, House number, City, State
and OsmAnd uses internally the Format
housenumber, street, City, State
So I got the Problem of incompatibilities of all my stored addresses, but also for those provided by Google search.
Now there are true the Web several tips how to fix it, mainly to use the Contactplugin. I downloaded it several times from different addresses but the result was the same : force closing apk... Sometimes OsmAnd or mostly the plugin itself.
I would be glad if someone could help me out because it makes me really ****ed up, I would like to use it instead of maps, so I would be able to delete maps, but if I want to do so, I would like to have mostly the same features, and the details on the map are not the problem.
Thank you for your idea how to fix this issue
Hi there,
You could try asking here, [APP] [Free] OsmAnd (online/offline GPS navigation), though the thread is pretty old and small.
You could also try asking for help in Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Thank you and thread closed!

Problem with android and facebook links

Hey there! Im new to this forum, at least at writing.
I own a news website with a good amount of visits (150-200k page views per month), and seems like lately im having an issue with facebook and android. All the news we publish are also published on facebook with a link to the news on our website, as we get 80% of our traffic from it. Lately some users have been complaining about redirects from the facebook app: when they click the link on the facebook app, it redirects to ads websites, different every time. It seems to be just happening from android phones, and just from the facebook app.
If those same users type the link on the browser, they get to our website with no problem. It also seems to be happening just when using data from their plans, not with wifi, but we cant confirm it as we exactly dont know how many users have been affected with this redirects.
Our site seems to have no problems according to google webmasters tools, nothing happens on desktop version, just on android phones clicking links from the facebook app. Any idea whats going on? We are kinda lost at this.
Just in case, the site is running wordpress, premium theme, not many plugins.
Any help or idea would be appreciated. Thanks!

Huawei HiCare - "Forum" tab but they don't exist

Exploring my new Mate 9, I opened the HiCare app, and it has useful information on how to use the phone. It also has tabs along the top, one of which is Forums. In that, it has links to a Huawei Forum, and to a Facebook "forum". I thought that might be an interesting way to find out more about the phone and get tips on using it.
However, the Huawei Forum merely takes me to the Huawei support page (actually to the UK mobile version of the site). I cannot find anywhere that there is a forum on the site. Completing the model details only gives me the manuals, downloads(0) and FAQs. Am I missing something ?
The Facebook link takes me to the Huawei Mobile Facebook page, but it has nothing interesting or useful there. Just adverts for phones at Carphone Warehouse and the carrier 3.
Luckily I found this forum... XDA rules.
They probably haven't activated it yet, not many Mate 9s sold in the West yet. Hopefully that will change with more buyers wanting help.
But we have good support here !

No options for date range for Google searches in Android devices?

Hi,
I've been using my new Android phone for web access a lot more recently. On a PC I like to limit my Google searches to a specific range of dates. But I see no option for that with my Android copy of Chrome.
I found this Reddit post from 3 years ago complaining about Google removing the option. Can anyone confirm that this is still the case?
There is a post in that thread with a link to information on how to use advanced google search terms like: date:3 date:6 and date:12 ...But those don't seem to be operational any more.
Is anyone aware of any more current information on whether or not it may still be possible to set a range of dates for Google searches in Android?
