I have compiled a list of things that does not work on this Pie update as of now. Tested on S9+ (SM-G965U) with various leaked Pie Builds (Originally SM-G965U1 unlocked, but flashed SM-G965U firmware G965USQUS3ARG8 to install Android Pie).

Secret code to change Network code and Sales code aka CSC code *#243203855# is functional.
Since some of us installed T-mobile firmware on devices from other carrier or factory unlocked devices from Samsung, this menu helped me to get rid of T-mobile's annoying Magenta boot screen.
Thanks to following people to help test Android Pie build and report the features that are broken or not working:
@Zenia
@taifuller
@Dyuntt For Secret code to change CSC code finding.
Thank you all for great support to this thread. As the pole suggested to include new features on each builds as well for that I will need some help to compile list. If anyone is interested to help and test to compile a list together with me, it will be much appreciated and list can be compiled faster. Please PM me

For AOD try to clear data for Always On Display app from Settings>>Apps>>Show System Apps. That should do the trick.
Samsung Theme is not fully baked yet and is not able to apply theme throughout the system, so I suppose I can add that to the list.
Thanks for the update for DeX, I dont have a DeX with me to try it out but I can add that to the lis as well.
Can you explain more about custom sounds. I am not sure if I understood what you meant.
And what is the build number you are on, is it CRI5 or CRI6? Please let me know, because I have intended to make list based on builds

CRI6 cannot be installed on top of CRI5. Update package looks for Oreo ARG8 and hence fails on installing. To install CRI6 I flashed ARG8 through odin without resetting. I was stuck in bootloop after that but I decided to sideload CRI6 on top of bootlooping ARG8. And surprisingly it worked and i am running CRI6 as of writing this post.

Night theme toggle seems to be working. Though light theme has not been fully implemented yet.
Fingerprint sensor is not functional. It keeps saying its not responding while adding fingerprints.
I can see little difference in audio while toggling dolby atmos options. So its seems to be in the work.
Looks like Messages app has updated look. At least the Activity with list of messages. Conversation Activity still has same look. I wonder if app versions are different. Mine is version 10.0.00.19
Havent got enough time to play with other stuffs though

I just received the Nougat update and realized that the big Samsung in the sky disabled System UI Tuner. So when faced with defeat I decided to spin up an Android emulator and using the some nifty ADB commands reverse engineer all the settings inside the System UI Tuner menu. I then confirmed you could just apply the same settings and they would work and then created an easy to use application to apply them.

To get started you will first want to enabled [Developer Options]:
Go into [Settings]
Tap on [About device]
Repeatedly tap on the [Build Number] until a toast notification comes up stating you have enabled developer options.
Go back
Next you will want to go into [Developer Options] and enable [USB Debugging]:
Go into [Developer Options]
Scroll down and tap on [USB Debugging]
Finally plug in your device to your computer accept any prompts that appear on your phone and run the application. The application will take a few seconds to load as it finds your phone, but after that you will be able to select the settings you want and see them instantly apply to your phone. Features I've noticed that do no work on the Galaxy S7 are: Battery Percentage in the icon, and Do Not Disturb features.

Power Notification Controls on the Galaxy S7
No alarm icon showing and long time.
This is a great app - warning for S7 users, though - when I tried to disable the alarm icon, the phone kept crashing system UI. I fixed it by relaunching the app and turning the alarm icon back on. So far, that's the only thing I've seen that doesn't work. I have time and battery icon turned off and so far the phone has rebooted a few times without any issues - it doesn't crash system UI and remembers my settings.
Nice work! Great way to hide time/battery without root.

That is strange. That is the one thing I have disabled and it's working for me on my S7 (SM-G930T). I did do a factory reset after getting the update so that may be the reason why it's working on my phone.

I don't get errors disabling any icons, however, when I'm trying to enable the battery percentage in icon and nothing happens. Do you know any way to do this? Hiding icons is pretty nice without root. Good job.

That is correct. I did not see any changes with battery percentage, or with the Do Not Disturb features. (Should have probably included that in the original post.) I left them in the app, because maybe they will work on other phones.

Great idea! After digging through the android source code on how the icon_blacklist setting works. Then digging through a DeOdexed Marshmallow rom (Thanks @muniz_ri [thread=3415952]thread[/URL]) and de-compiling a few APK's, I was able to find the key Samsung uses on the NFC icon. (For anyone interested it's "nfc_on") A link to the new version has been updated in the original post.

Absolute legend works a treat on my S7 !!!!
Would it be possible to remove the carrier name from the status bar with this app?
I've tried using this and it's Power Notification Control setting is very buggy on my S7. It works perfectly fine on my wife's. This lead me to believe that maybe it was an internal thing going on with mine because I was a beta tester for samsung and she wasn't, but we're both on 7.0, so I flashed stock 7.0 with odin to have a clean system and see if that was the problem, but I'm still having the same issue.
(It changes the ui, adds the option but when I go to activate it, I can not push the star to activate the bar and change the setting.
This mod has improved my quality of life. HAHA!

I have the same problem with my s7 edge
I am happy to find this app. Hate that alarm and bluetooth icon always being there. Seems to be working great on my S7 edge. Is there a way to remove the AM/PM in the clock? I know when its morning or night.
Love the app any chance to remove this garbage it added after root?

I would love this as well. I know if it's am or pm. I was a beta tester for 3 months and I repeatedly asked samsung to remove it. Worthless and takes up space.
I have tried using this app on my Galaxy s6 but it does not work. I do know however that the icon_blacklist adb commands do in fact work (as I have used them to hide my wifi and cellular icons in the status bar), so if this program is based on icon_blacklist, then it should. I researched androidlib.dll and made sure I have .NET framwork 3.5 or higher installed and enabled, and I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, it's a Samsung Galaxy S6 920v, MM 6.0.1. Not sure if this will work only on Nougat or not.

Incredible app.
Is there any way to activate the "Dark Theme" in the SYS UI Tuner? Especially useful for us S7 AMOLED users.
Hi,
This is a great program! I'm just curious, will this work with other phones? We are experimenting with the same thing over on the LG V20 forums but only with the adb commands themselves, no front-end app or anything like that. So is it possible that this would work?
If not, would you mind sharing the adb command for enabling Power notification controls? That's the feature I want the most but after some quick Googling I can't find out how to do that.
Thanks!
EDIT: Whoops, I didn't see on GitHub that it says it will work on any Android device. I tested it out on the devices in my signature (LG V20 US Unlocked & LG G Pad III 8.0 Wi-Fi if you're on mobile and can't see my signature). The "Power notification controls" feature that I was mostly after doesn't work. I have the same problem as these guys:

Any ideas? I messed around with a few of the "Status Bar" icon settings and those seem to work.
EDIT 2: I figured out how to get Power notification controls working (kinda)! It's still a little wonky and sometimes it locks up, crashes, or just resets though. blankfaced and Patybello, let me know if this works for you. What you have to do is get a notification from the app you want to change into your notification shade. Then slowly pull it left or right just a little bit until the cog icon appears, and click on it. From there if you tap the star icon with the A in it you can set the app's notification priority level (some levels on certain apps cause the notification window to reset/crash when you select them though , so YMMV)! Just make sure you hit "Done" afterwards. Sometimes you can then go into Settings > Notification > Apps to change it from there but a lot of times it just completely freezes up or resets itself, so I would recommend not trying to make any changes in there. I can't reboot my phone right now but I did reboot my tablet and it appears that the priority levels stuck, so hopefully this lasts!
So i have the device, and i have to admit, its one of the best devices that i have used since the (passed away) note7..
Now, one of the best features, that most of you who will get the device soon will notice, is the edge notification, which is a samsung designed minimal popup notification (peek preview).. You can easily Google it and you will know what am talking about. (just Google s8 edge notification)
Something doesn't add up, and i was hoping for someone now or in the near future to find a solution to it. This kind of notification supports third party applications (supports some of what am using), however, taking whatsapp as an example, when you enable the edge notification for always (both when screen is on and while on AOD) it works while the screen is on perfectly, but doesn't work while on AOD. Please note that from testing, this feature is working with few third party apps on the AOD.
I did few testings, the only way to make this minimal edge notification work for whatsapp while on AOD is to enable the pop-up notification in the app, but that will mean once you unlock the device, the pop up of whatsapp (app pop-up) will show up immediately and thats not what i want (very annoying).. I would like to add that i dont need to enable the whatsapp in app popup for edge notification to work while the screen is on.
Am not sure if there is a way of fixing this, but i thought i would put it here for other users to check it out and give us a feedback or a solution (it might be only me, you never know).
In advance, coz i know i will get this question, i got the device officially since few days coz i was an early bird in pre booking (UAE-Dubai) only 300 devices (or so) where officially released for early birds.. The rest will get it by 18th or 19th..

Can you specify which 3rd party apps work with the screen off? I can duplicate your observed behaviour. I am keen to get this working also.

Yesterday the device received an update, included an update for the AOD, and so far, third party apps are now longer working as a popup while on AOD, will keep monitoring and will update here once i find an app that works (third party apps)..
Things that we need to consider when trying to understand why this is happening:
1- when u enabled the popup (in whatsapp app itself), then it works with the minimal samsung style while on AOD (could have something to do with the AOD reading notification in this case)
2- allll third party apps DO work with samsung style popup while the screen is on, means the AOD is actually able to read that notification and display it (convert it) to Samsung style, why don't samsung make that functional for 3rd party apps while on AOD.. Strange, though the option is there and enabled in the edge notification settings, and u have the choice to enable it for screen on only, AOD only, or both..
My hope is that in the near future, samsung will improve that.. An update maybe (crossing fingers)..
The pop-up like whatsapp does it is what is needed - I am tweaking my app *Augmented smartwatch Pro) to add this support. I will post a link to APK here. It is effectively a proxy app for notifications and it works for all apps! I will post a free version ( I sell it in app store). Now if I could only change the colour of the light

Here is the https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101388531/app-release.apk
For whatsapp you need to do the following for whatsapp (will work for any 3rd party app if you enable)
enable notification access for augmentedsmartwatchpro (lock screen -> other security settings -> notification access) in samsung settings
in augmented smartwatch (ASP) enable in preferences
phone options -> show notifications on phone -> set to text view
optimized notifications -> enable whatsapp
that's it. it should work (only when screen is off). note AOD is not needed to be enabled. The pop up by ASP automatically disappears after @ 5 seconds (so when you turn on the phone it is gone). No need to set this in whatsapp!
Yes the app is complex - and it does much more
let me know if you get it to work!
Adrian
PS - yes I know it is a paid app on market - but this version I have not updated to market - it is optimized for Android 7 and fixes a lot of bugs - so consider this informal beta testing
PPS - for those that have concerns I have developed this app over the past few years before smart watches were popular. Nothing is sent to the cloud (unless you enable pushover for going tablet to phone). I take privacy and security very seriously. Also in this version there is Tesla support - one day I will update my blog ....
I really don't like the new popup... I wish we could have the edge light plus the normal Android popup...
Btw, the edge notification doesn't work for Facebook messenger if I saw right...

Yes the only way to trigger the pop up is to show one (which automatically goes away after 4 seconds).
For FB Messenger - it needs to be enabled under All other notifications -> messenger and enable it.
It seems to work for me but it is not "optimized' to eliminate non-messages like I do for whatsapp, but you can manually apply global filters to filter out.

Note it will only work if the screen is OFF (not on). AOD can be enabled or disabled.
If it still doesn't work - can you download the updated version and open the app and post what the screen shows - it should confirms things are configured correctly.
thanks

I would add that whatsapp edge lighting would work with message popup, but even with that, edge lighting would not work if the phone was off and turned over screen facing down, it has nothing to do with proximity sensor, it just needs the phone to be tilted a little to work.
Other edge lighting apps like Viber works well with all scenarios.
Hello ! Did you ever figure out how to fix this issue ? I just got the samsung S9+ and I am not happy with this very same issue. My whatsapp is set to "pop up only when screen is off" on AOD the edge lighting works fine, but when I go to unlock my screen the pop message shows. So very annoying !

I don't think anyone figured out a solution, this has been my experience with the same problem with s8+, Note8 and s9+..
Hey guys, I could use a hand. For some reason this AM my Nav buttons no longer are transparent on my phone ANYWHERE on ANY app. I use Nova launcher and I don't see a setting there. I checked the Display under settings and I don't have a color selected.
On the lock screen the home buttons are not there so I don't see this and have a full screen display. Any help would be appreciated.
Tried a restart?

Try Safe Mode? If the problem vanishes there, try a normal reboot again and try a default theme or different launcher, perhaps.

I tried it. Still not working. It shows as transparent for a quick second, then goes black.
* I did go to Touchwiz and it did go full screen, but all apps still had the nav bar as black and wouldn't hide. Only if I open a YouTube video in full screen will it disappear.

Just tried. Same issue.
Bump. Still having the issue.
Try to use app call Shortcutter and enable immersive mode
Have you tried going to Settings/Display/Navigation Bar and adjusting setting? The latest update changed the colors available for the nav bar.

It appears that looking at your screenshots i see no dot in left corner.? of navbar. So i presume
you have not received /done latest Samsung Update.?
Latest update has a dot, leftside of navbar.
If you tap it you navbar goes into Immersive
mode.
I have done latest update and using Nova Prime.
I have no issues with navbar. etc etc.
I replied to another thread (similar issue) earlier with

the latest Samsung software Build number should be .............AQF7
( as far as i know ) .
I don't think you are on this .Look at my screenshots
You will see white dot left corner ?
and when you want to use keyboard you have small keyboard icon
right side ,see screenshot .I do not see this in your screenshots ?
I am on latest build with Nova and have no issues with navigation bar .
So it difficult to test from my side as it seems we are on different Samsung build versions .?
Before my update i was using 3rd party app Shortcutter ( immersive mode )
Very good quality app .You can check it out in meantime .Works 100 %

With all respect ,it does not seem like you on latest software, as your are still on " ....AQEF "
( according to your screenshot ).
I am on " ............AQF7 " ( see my screenshot in my post #14 above )
It's this "..........AQF7" update ,that has the with dot .in navigation bar ..
All you can do is wait (?) for update .........AQF7 ( or similar ) .
Otherwise install a 3rd party app Shortcutter, which has this function ( immersive mode ) and a lot of other tweaks ( no root options ).
A very good quality app and very handy .
I have seen other , ADB commands tweaks that you can do to enable similar ( very easy if you , know what ADB is )
I still use Shortcutter app even though i have the with dot option in navigation bar .
Good luck

I hear what you're saying, but my issue was that I had no problems before. All of the sudden it just stopped working regardless of the release. I do agree Verizon does stall on updates specifically for security reasons and because they're assholes.

Ok,
Then you still got one basic option left.
(according to me)
Factory reset.! Yes, i know it's a hassle, but if you want to fix it, then factory reset. See screenshot
There is a option in device settings, for you to
reset settings, but it hardly works.
From time to time a certain device setting does
get "broken".
I had this with a few different devices eg Note
4, Note 5 and S 8 +.
eg Bluetooth switch toggle, switches alarm icon on. (for few seconds.)
Auto rotate icon missing.
On S8 +, the AoD was "broken /not working"
Only a factory reset eventually fixed it.!
Anyway i would try a factory reset, if i was "fed up" and wanted to fix issue.?
Good luck
After factory reset yesterday this also started happening to me. I did not receive that update everyone keeps talking about.
Hello All

I got it too!!!!! I'm on AT&T. Woo Hoo!!!
Whoo Hoo , got it mine too !
Seems to be working great.
BTW, is there any way to swap the recent and back button?
adb shell
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,space"
This doesn't work any more :\
Just flashed the fastboot image, for some reason the only options under Choose screen lock are "none" and "Swipe". There's no option for PIN or pattern anymore which leaves me unable to add a fingerprint to unlock with either
How's the battery life in Android Q?
Is it the same with P or worse?
I assume now that it is official, that SafetyNet is passing ok so things such as GooglePay aren't a problem? I had avoided trying a beta because of the lack of SafetyNet failures on them from what I had read, and I tend to use GooglePay and a few games that need SafetyNet.

Can't really answer that definitively, it came out a few hours ago. I don't consider using Beta releases as proof, and the thing about battery life, is that it is so dependent on what you do with your phone, that each one of us will get different results.
I'm surprised that the update is only 16 MB if you're on the final beta, but I think I remember the update from Android 8 beta to 9 being similarly tiny. That's a pretty good indicator that barely anything changed from beta 6.

WIFI and bluetooth will not stay on. Factory reset doesn't help. Neither does going back to Android 9 and doing another OTA to 10. Staying on 9 until further notice!

Same for me
(can change sound in aCalendar+ app)
Updated OTA last night. So far so good, not noticed any specific issues yet.
Kudos to essential for keeping so on top of these updates. If they do ever release another one I will buy one so long as they strengthen the phone/data signal a bit. That is pretty much my only disappointment with this one, but still it was worth every cent of the 200 bucks or so I paid for it.
Flashed ota through twrp and rooted using Magisk's canary build.
No issues thus far. I can change the stock calendar notification without media crash, but I'm only using the stock sounds. Are those experiencing issues using custom sounds?

Just upgraded to new OS. On the front screen, I used to tap & hold the recent app button which would split the screen with an App on top and the home screen below it. Used this feature multiple times a day. Now it doesn't work or I'm forgetting which option I need to enable to make it work... any ideas/ suggestions? I'll roll back if it isn't an option any more. I can still open 2 apps (although they changed the way that works now too and it takes too many steps), but that's not what I'm referring to. I want to access the home screen in 1 of the 2 windows. Also, can't find how to change the layout of the recent apps list (previous version had multiple options: stacked, bubbles, tiles, etc). All help/ comments appreciated. Thank you
Did you upgraded to the new Android version? May I ask you if you still have Mobile hot spots/ Tethering active?
Yes I upgraded to the new android os. Mobile hotspotworks fine. I haven't tried tethering (via cable) bc I seldom use it that way
RE: my question, figured out this option was part of GoodLock MultiStar app and the option is no longer available after the new update. Many folks have commented about this being one of the PRIMARY uses of this app. I also sent an email, so we'll see if they bring it back or allow roll back to the previous version.

Great Thanks. I loaded the update but still don't see the Quick Launch Multi Window option which in my opinion is the whole problem w/ the new OS (MULTIPLE split screen related issues) and point of this app. If they could not get the split screen to work in this system update then they should NOT have rolled out the update OneUI3 is a total step backwards. I'm about ready to reset my phone to factory default & start all over or find the previous OS and undo the whole system update. In fact the notes now reference that quick launch is no longer an option. I'll be rolling back over the weekend
+1 Same. Despite the new Good Lock/MultiStar update, Split Screen still requires the crazy finger gymnastics. I hope they fix it soon.
Same. Task Changer would notify me the app was no longer compatible with my software update. I Uninstalled the module, reinstalled it to no avail. I actually deleted Good lock itself and reinstalled it only to find Task Changer was no longer available as a module Just a waiting game at the moment...
The release notes on MutiStar say no more quick launch as of OneUI 3 and based on all the other problems I'm having in split screen, it appears to me that the new OS really has a problem with it which is stupid since that was the BEST PART
I remember having this same issue with my N20U. I'm sure it's only a matter of time
