It's the launcher, had the same problem with the Huawei Mate 10 Pro International model and Mi Max 3 CN model as well.

The problem fixed it self its works now

I have still a problem with the pixel bridge, while the feed is working and I can scroll etc and its updating the problem is when I click on the cards nothing happen... can some one tell me why this happen is it a permission problem ?
I suspect that maybe it some of the vivo security enchantments cause the pixel bridge is talking to another app (I guess google webview ?).

What problems with the non EU version

I'm really interested in this phone but should I wait for the EU version or buy the version they are selling in china
It seems ok frequency wise - https://www.frequencycheck.com/comp...-dual-sim-td-lte-64gb-nxt-al10/united-kingdom
I've seen people pick international English on a menu and it looked all English - is that correct ? - even the non google stuff
Would I have to worry about anything else ?
Any help most appreciated as I want to replace my one plus one that is starting to feel under powered with the amount of tasker stuff I'm running on it
thanks

You do need to check the frequencies as you have done. The Mate 8 has allot of bands covered.
Android OS on Huawei's phones have about every language available. There is some apps on the phone that is in Chinese, but they can be removed, and are for the china market.
Google Apps will not be preloaded, but you will need to download from the Huawei App Store called HiApp. That HiApp app is in mixed Chinese and English, so not everything is translated. After that you have Google Apps, and can download from Google Play that will follow your OS language.
I have had the Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7 and now Mate S, all the Chinese version and they have all been working fine here in Denmark. I have had no problems with network, GPS or WiFi here or on vacation. .
..oh, the change log for OS updates are (mostly) in Chinese

Yes, you do.
It is quite simple: Open HiApp -> Search "Google" -> Click on the Google banner in the top of the search results -> All Google apps is listed, click the download button for each (downwards arrow).
Other than Google Play, you need the Contact sync and Calander sync apps from the list. The rest can be downloaded from Google Play Store afterwords.
I had no troubles with a P8max recently, most sellers out of China will pre-install Google Play for you. My Mate 8 arrives next Monday, can let you know of if it differs any from the P8Max in terms of language difficulties.
Hi,
I bought a Mate 8.
It come with google playstore installed.
I arrived to install all app I want from google playstore.
The only problem I foun, I can't import my contact list, but will be solve for sure.
Two of us have Google contacts sync working, although neither of us is entirely sure how (I was granting permissions/trusted status/open from other apps statuses etc as a batch, so not sure which of those actions allowed for contacts import sorry).
If your google contact can't not sync.
Do you install the google contact sync? you can find it from the "huawei app store".
Install the google contact sync apk, and remove your account, reboot, login your contact again.
It works fine in my mate8 with google contact.
I can use almost all of google service in mate 8 now. (no matter google play, gmail, hangout, contact or anyother)
But, the only problem is that I can't get the location during google map without GPS enable.
Google map can't use cell or wifi to detect where it is, but it work fine with GPS enable.
I have no idea that how to fix it...
After searching the solution from google, it seems I need to root and replace networklocation.apk....
Is there any other method? (I don't know how to root huawei's device...)
I've recieved my mate 8 a week ago, and have had the issues that most of you are talking about.
Assuming the issue is from the battery manager itself; click on the setting icon up left of the screen, you need to switch on (Keep mobile data on when sleeping).
Of course that is in congunction with the rest of the settings/permissions.
Good luck,
Just don't forget to update emui

is it fast and smooth? is the cpu very powerful?
Yes - not had any problems at all.
I'm coming from a one plus one with a few badly writtern tasker profiles (quiet at work, and home nights with auto voice and autovera stuff), 3 mail clients including a touchdown exchange one. It was too much for the one plus but my new mate 8 is still flying.
Problems I have/had
The sync thing - was mashmellow permissions and a restart. (You do not need to wipe and restart.
The app draw - not a problem just a concept change the mate 8 doesn't have one your home screens are your app draw. So its a case of being tidy with folders. But swiping up on the home screen gives you an app search.
Dictionary - wish I could figure out how to copy the words I had stored in my dictionary.
Chinese App store - keeps telling me I have 18 apps that need updating - they don't the are just wanting to change to the chinese version.
Battery life - the one plus would last a day and 1/2 if I forgot to charge it the 1/2 I would start not usjng it, mate 8 will nearly last 2 days (it also gives me stats in ma about what is eating the battery)
Overall its a great phone
M
I've received my mate 8 one week ago... And unfortunately I had a rare problem with my notifications (whatsapp, viber, and other apps).
I did trust those apps from the system, and followed the instructions from the huawei guide, but the problem still.
So anybody have any idea how to solve this problem.
Thanks
Hi, i want to buy a Mate 8 but I'm not sure for the sync problem for google. what type of problem you have?
it is a great phone but unfortuantely I have the same problem with the google sync as well as not getting any notifications. Please help!
didnt someone mention that putting the phone into performance mode solved this?
Tried it hasn't worked for me
Location Services are not working unless you activate GPS - AL10 model;
Any solutions?
yeah, several other users already reported that energy-saving location services somehow dont seem to work...unless u switch to high-performance mode @gps
Hey guys, I am trying to login to Huawei services and I always get the message "due to service location restrictions the system is unable to provide services to you".
Does anyone knows how to bypass that?

OP7P, VoLTE and Google Dialer, and Blocking Spam

Hi - I used to use the Google Dialer on my OP3T.
The Google Dialer (Beta version) is incredibly useful, because I have the option to block all calls that aren't in my Contacts list. Considering that I can get a dozen spam calls a day, that functionality is almost mandatory.
Sadly, the Google Dialer apparently doesn't appear to be compatible with the OP7P - At least, the Google Dialer isn't available in the Google Play Store on my OP7P.
Now, I could side-load the Google Dialer, but I'm wondering if it will break something in the OP7P telephony as a result. Also, does the Google Dialer support VoLTE?
Hopefully, a guru out there knows!

I just tried side-loading the latest Google Android Dialer (beta) from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...ogle-phone-36-0-259628841-publicbeta-release/
When I tried installing it, I got a "Not Installed" error from the installer.

I found the solution.
The problem is that OP doesn't install the Google Dialer Framework as part of the OOS system. There is a downloadable Magisk Module for the Google Dialer Framework. Once I installed that, the latest Google Dialer Beta with Spam Protection installed properly on my OP7P.
Cheers!

This worked to install without anything else special. Turned on spam protection in settings. But is there anything else I need to do for it to work?
I am not rooted so no magisk modules.

Maybe disabling oos dialer would work.

Is Mi 10 pro CN version worth it?

I wanted to buy this phone but the global version is not dual-sim so I'm thinking of importing the CN version instead and install google apps on it. will I be able to change the default xiao ai assistant to google assistant? or use all the banking apps for payment using nfc? i don't wanna unlock the bootloader coz I don't wanna lose some phone capabilities.

You don't say what country you're from, no band 20, I unlocked my Chinese version to install EU ROM, everything works although it did with Chinese ROM, just install play store APK. The framework work is already installed. Google apps all working fine including gpay.

Thanks for the info.
I'm in two minds if I should buy this version.
But I do know I won't be paying the 999 euros for it.
And the other problem is that google are locking down on google store on phones with a unlocked bootloader.
And the pull down menu and other things in the menus are in Chinese.
Just thought.
With Google's SafetyNet now making an impact, it's not worth buy a mi 10 pro.

If you are going to install only gApps with the installer, well you will be able to use all the google apps. But you have to know that google pay may not work in the right way due to the new Google policy. The same as Huawei phones. And well, you won't have 4G B20 band.

I was thinking about doing this.
That was until I saw that all the top pull down menus are in chinese and you can't change them.
And loads of chinese notification popping up.
I don't have Chinese in any of my pulldown menus or notifications. Google apps, safeynet, widevine 3, etc. all work out of the box, even on the Chinese rom. However, I did replace the launcher with Nova and disabled a bunch of Xiaomi apps with XiaomiADBFastbootTools.
Now, all that said, I haven't been able to get "Ok Google" to work for me. The assistant itself seems to work and I can prompt it with a key command, but it gives me a regional error if I try to have "Ok Google" always on. Maybe it works outside of China, but it seems to be a problem with rom itself.
I also have my international payment methods binded to it no problem (safety net works) but since I'm in China I can't really test it out anywhere. It works online, but I would want to see a physical NFC transaction go through before I declare it working.

I can confidently tell you that my CN Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro works flawlessly with the Global ROM installed, and all Google Services working including Google Assistant, Google Pay, etc.
The trick I found to get the phone to pass Safety Net was switching the device fingerprint. After that Google Pay works perfectly as I just tested it at the store. Prior to updating the device fingerprint, that was the ONLY thing that didn't work.

I used a Mix Mix 2 profile and it worked. However, I just recently upgraded to MIUI 12 and lost Safety Net approval... no matter what fingerprint I use. I suspect it was Google pulling the levers in the office and I happen to catch it at the right time.

I got it working again but removing the Google Play Services and Google Pay updates reverting back to older versions. Works perfectly again!
I bought the CN model for use in Australia and can confirm that everything works using the custom from from xiaomi.eu
Without the rom it's impossible to rid yourself of all the Chinese in the OS. With it, you get better updates than the global version and safety-net passes.

I dont think it's possible using the default skin because Huawei wouldnt have bothered including it, but some launchers do support it and I've seen here people say it works. I think i saw someone say they used Nova launcher with an addon to make it work.
I use Microsoft Launcher and so it has the MSN news feed etc to the edge and I just use the Google app to access the G-feed when needed.
I tried the ADB mod to disable Huawei assistant that did bring the Google feed on other devices but it didn't work ok the p40 pro. Even after installing GMS.
Thanks for the replies, I know I can use the app, but swip left is so useful and quick. Huawei also don't let you customise specific topics which is annoying, and do not capture info from as many sources
i tried adb commands to disable this btw, usually for p30/mate30 this brings up google feeds on left hand swipe automatically, but not for p40
Hi,
I use smart launcher 5 and you can configure and have Google feed by installing a bridge from the official site for this.
And I think it's a great launcher apart from this.

Google Discover (MIUI 12)

Hello,
After updating to MIUI 12 (official EEA ROM) Google Discover no longer appears on the left of the home screen as before (MIUI 11). Now there is an Mi application instead (app vault?). In the Poco Launcher options I have Google Discover selected, but no way.
Is this a change in MIUI 12? Is there a way to get Google Discover again?
Thank you and best regards..
I don't have a solution but just so you know, I've the same issue.
Just got a Poco F2 Pro on MIUI 11 Global (EU) ROM and it didn't work from the get go, the App Vault showed even when the toggle is named "Google Discover" in the launcher settings and was enabled.
I updated to MIUI 12 (V12.0.1.0.QJKEUXM), nothing changed. I factory reset, and it's still the App Vault. Updated all services possible and changed the region, but to no avail. I'm out of ideas
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I've asked this same question in an Spanish forum and found that it happens to more people. No solution for now...
I restarted from zero: I downgraded the phone to MIUI 11 flashing factory image, and Google Discover integration worked fine out of the box. But just updating to MIUI 12 using OTA causes AppVault appears instead of Google Discover..., just updating, without any setting change...
I also thought that maybe my phone is not registered as global or whatever but I tested the serial number and IMEIs at https://www.mi.com/global/verify/ and everything is correct.
Hi, just to share hopefully this helps. I had the same problem when updating to miui 12 global version.
My solution: update the "App vault" app in playstore and your are good to go.

BTW: I didn't receive that Poco Launcher update neither in Google Play nor System App Updates. I've download it from Apk Mirror.
