The jump to pie ? haven't found any new feature or improvement so far.

Did you factory reset to install or full data wipe?

Slow boot time.
There is something wrong with this version. Boot time is always veeeery slow!!!

I've flashed it on top of oreo build. Worked. First boot time is very long, but after that everything is okay.

Yeah you are right. Boot time is pretty long. Hopefully they will fix it in future update.

Seems they fixed encryption status display.
In 8.8.3, it's "Phone encrypted" and now it's "Phone not encrypted".
The phone is indeed not encrypted since TWRP doesn't require password / PIN when entering.
But how can I make it encrypted? I know the encrypt option in settings doesn't work before and I would not try again. I checked fstab.qcom and it's already encryptable=ice, quota, so I have no idea - I think data should be encrypted when I do full wipe.

Eh I suppose it's kind of slower, but it's still fairly fast in my opinion, it's about 10 seconds from beginning to end by my timing just now.
Also, when I flashed it, I instinctively first did a complete flash_all from the current global beta 8.9.13 fastboot, and then booted into it, and finally flashed this ROM

Whaaaat weird, I immediately had flashed the Universal DM-Verity/ForceEncrypt disable script after ROM flash, so when I saw the encryption is disabled message I had just assumed the script had worked ?

Anti-rollback 3 or 4?

Also performed a clean flash now. Still very long boot time. Did you format data partition?

Yesterday i did xiaomi.eu global and first it was also long boot but now after restart it is all ok.

So, you flashed 8.9.13 global beta from fastboot and then installed the ROM? Did you format data before flashing the ROM?
Thanks and sorry for the obvious questions

Got it today as normal OTA update. Miu 10 but Android Version 8.0 ist that normal?

What is the point of this if there is no difference to MIUI10 based on Oreo?

MIUI 10 is based on Android 9.

Miui10 can be based on whatever Xiaomi want. Currently as a stable release it's on 8.0, but beta users are ok 9.0.
Remember that miui versions and Android versions have almost nothing to do with each other.
Also again this has nothing to to with xiaomi.eu
M.

[Q] Why does it do this?

Every ICS ROM that I have flashed on my phone has done this. I never hear anyone discussing this and I can't be the only one. Why and is there a fix?

Have you done a full wipe and is hardware acceleration enabled?
Not So Strange...
Well,it backs to several things:
Did You Fully wipe?
What's device current Recovery?
What was your previous Firmware?
Did the Roms you use, support GPU rendering ?
How is your device like with official firmware?
And several other things...

Yes, I always do a full wipe when flashing roms.
5.0.2.0
It does it eventually, regardless of the previous firmware.
I believe so, all roms that I flash come from here.
I just flashed a root access version of the IMM76D ROM and it happened on that one.
It only happens every so often, and a reboot is in order to correct it.
Thanks guys.

Ok,first try to flash latest official firmware which I think is:
Ics 4.0.4
Baseband Version: D720SPRKH1
Build Number:IMM26
and here is a how to:
http://www.techzek.com/how-to-update-sprint-nexus-s-4g-on-android-4-0-4-ics-firmware/
Afterward flash following recovery:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-crespo.img
Then try to flash:
http://bigota.d.miui.com/2.3.30/miui_NS_2.3.30_c1e078377e_4.0.zip
or
a cyanogenmod 9 and report back please...
^ Is that the correct firmware to flash for the 4G nexus s?
That looks like a launcher problem to me. Are you using an aftermarket launcher or are you restoring it from a previous install?

Stock launcher, I've never used a different launcher other than stock on all my ICS ROMs.
I Edit the firmware, check and flash it.
Update, my phone did it again and I thought I would check the launcher. I did a "force stop" on the launcher and that resolved it. I have always used the stock ics launcher what would cause the launcher to behave this way?

See my signature for proper FULL wipe. Something tells me you're not wiping system.
I'm having the same problem with one of 2 Nexus S 4G's I flashed with IMM76D. I did a full proper wipe on both of them, but one seems to corrupt the text like in the picture. It happens after it's been running a while and a reboot fixes it temporarily.I wiped it fully again and reloaded the ROM and its still doing it.
Next thing to try is re downloading the ROM. Maybe a corrupt download? Any ideas?

I too have done a full proper wipe with that same rom and still have the issue from time to time. Next time you get it try to fore stop the stock launcher. That fixes it for me, until it happens again. But for me its something with the stock launcher.

Well i won't be using this rom. spent the last few hours trying to get this to work. nothing is working at all. Got it to boot then try to transfer my files back over. The phone then crashes and goes to a black screen with "qualcomm crashdump mode" Been installing roms on this phone since release with no issue. Finally given up with this one. Currently stuck in fastboot due to this.

I flashed the built which shows up on the weekend , had the same prob but when you use adb push you can transfer files to.your phone w/o probs. The rest was working for me fine only bigger prob was if you flash the oos10 cam then the phone reboots into crashdump. Removing the cam solved that. It's Beta, it's still in progress don't forgett that.

No, oos camera also works fine
I have no idea what it is. Had to boot a fastboot rom just to get back up and running after that last crashdump. going to go back to OOS for a little I think. I have never had a rom do this but this one has done it every time I have tried. Thing is I love Omni so I hope one day i can get it running properly.

Does anyone know of an app or mod that allows the navigation buttons to be inverted? The custom navbar app doesn't work on 10 yet and that isn't integrated into the rom yet. I'll live but it is tough to try to retrain the brain, ha!
First impressions using couple of hours is solid.
Battery life look promising and satisfactory.
Very smooth experience so far.
Speaker loudness and quality is on par with oxygen just like with Pie version.
Brightness level seems on par with high oxygen levels although I haven't test it in sunlight, will do tomorrow [emoji14]
Stock(android 10) gesture navigation works great but prefer oxygen one and since using nova launcher I'm with vivid gesture navigation app since when using third-party launcher automatically stock gesture navigation are disabled.
There's dark mode but I'm not fan of it since it's dark gray and not black that prefer (will use substratum to apply truly black theme almost everywhere)
Vast majority Omni features working fine so far.
Wi-Fi, mobile data, so far all excellent, BT will test tomorrow intensively.
Almost all oxygen features are present and worked fine, except vibration need some tuning but that also appy to stable OOS 10 version.
On Pie vibration was better both Omni and OOS.
High brightness level is still present
I found some bugs though like dt2w not such reliable almost half of the attempts needed 2 and rare 3 times to wake up screen or even press the power button at end because not responding at all.
Aldo digital wellbeing to me every time try to open I'm getting fc.
Safety net not passing through magisk also.
I assume will improve in future build don't forget it's still beta.
More observations and safe conclusions will have after couple of days of using the new rom.
But so far general impressions after few hours is at good and satisfactory level and the build is safe to be daily driver for sure.

LineageOS for Oppo F1F, Wifi, GPS, Battery not working right.

I have also tried running a previous version but the issue still persists.
My process was from Stock Rom, I used this guide to unlock the bootloader.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oppo-f1/guide-unlock-fastboot-mode-via-qfil-f1f-t3819887
Next, I flashed a recovery specifically twrp3.3.1-0.f1f.img to the rom. I was successful.
Then I sideloaded projectspectrum from https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/f1f/install
and then sideloaded the actual lineageOS rom.
Phone booted, wifi, gps and battery does not work properly.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello Even, so now I have twrp 3.4.0 on my oppo f1f, and it is working, however I accidentally wiped the system, so now I don't have an os installed, I can boot into fastboot mode and twrp using physical key combo.
https://download.lineageos.org/f1f
I tried to flash the latest Lineage OS, but when I flash it in twrp, it did finished flashing, but when I reboot to system, it won't enter the os, it will stick at oppo logo for a few minutes then turn off.
I also tried the installation instructions on LOS, but when I tried to flash project spectrum, it gives the error 7 saying that this package is for F1f this is f1f.
So now I got a phone without OS and twrp 3.4 working, any suggestions? Pls help!!

Bro I'm in oxygen os 11.10.10 can I update my op 9 4300mb software update after Installing all package without clicking reboot can I install to inactive slot via magisk can I do that without losing root it is safe or may I get softbrick
I was also in OOs11 and updated directly to c44 from oxygen updater. So there's no issues in that. But about rooting, I'm not sure since i didn't root myself.

Also, in doing so,be aware that you will have to Factory Reset. Once done and booted back into system, you will have the Magisk app
Anyone tried the newest oos12 update on a converted tmobile version of op9?
How is it working?
I tried to upgrade but it failed. I've downloaded the 4 GB zip with Oxygen Updater, installed it, didn't reboot, installed Magisk to keep root and rebooted. After the first reboot I saw just three lines which faded out, the phone started again and I'm still on Android 11. Nothing has changed, even the custom kernel is still there. What could be the problem?
On the other hand: after reading all the complaints about this version in the OnePlus forum I think it's better to wait...

It's not that great. I had issues with Volte working with signal/data with wifi turned on. Turned off Volte and everything works properly.
Also, for root it's better to use patchedboot.img and vbmeta with disable verity command.

23.0 (23000). That's the version I got with the Magisk app. I couldn't find version 23016.

Question Massive system storage use on Stock OnePlus 9 5G

Hey everyone. I've been looking through Forum posts everywhere and can't seem to see anything recent concerning this issue that actually solves it.
My system data is taking up an extremely abnormal amount of space. So much so that I have to routinely prune my already limited photo, video, and file storage or my device runs out of space to store temp and application files. Has anyone found a decent way to fix this outside of starting from scratch?
I have a stock OnePlus 9 5G running Android 12 (LE2115_11C.48), tho it had been an ongoing issue since before Android 12...

It seems like a known issue that has no resolution but factory reset and switch to a non-OOS ROM.

There is some suggestion that it's dump files being constantly created.
Hmmm... Do you know if root is possible without factory reset? I bet I could find the problem files pretty quick if I could get access to those files.

Not that I'm aware of. Temp root exploits are closed pretty quickly once discovered and the act of unlocking the bootloader causing the phone to be wiped is a security mechanism since having an unlocked bootloader could potentially give way to an easier method of extracting your data off of the device.
until support arrives, there's no choice but to reset and reinstall OS.
the problem with the other option of using a custom OS is kinda scary.
because installing/using a custom OS is no longer as straight forward as previous like in oneplus 3t.

What's scary about it? It's really not that bad as long as you read the instructions. I have flashed this thing 3 or 4 times now and it's no worse than any other phone I have ever had.
That's good to know. I previously had a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 (may it rest in peace) and ran several custom ROMs on it before its untimely demise. I imagine the process on this device is equally nerve wracking the first couple of times and totally normal afterwards.
Any suggestions while we're on the topic?

If you can type fastboot commands into command prompt, it's really not that difficult. I actually often found flashing with TWRP to be more irritating because of weird errors and sometimes it would refuse to factory reset and make a really big mess for me.
Now you just download the ROM and the recommended recovery, flash the recovery, boot to recovery, flash ROM, and you're done. Obviously read each ROM's instructions though because some like StagOS require you to do other stuff (you have to flash a partition file with that one).
I personally recommend StagOS. The only thing I found wrong with it was that it didn't support Verizon (no signal with a Verizon network SIM) but the dev is working on that and the fingerprint sensor icon wasn't lined up properly which apparently not everyone had that problem. I have tried a few others and had different issues with each of them. Derpfest is pretty good too but sometimes my apps act like I have never run them and I had a weird crash when swiping down on the status bar earlier. I plan to go back to StagOS. In fact, I am going to just go ahead and do that right now.
If you want to save yourself some annoyance, if the phone doesn't have OOS 12 on it when you get it, don't flash it to OOS 12 or you'll have to downgrade it to make sure you have a firmware match.
Dang.. I thi k I already went to OOS 12 since I'm on Android 12

Yep, you definitely did. The easiest way to get back to being ready IMO is to run the global MSM tool to get back to OOS 11, then when that's done, unlock the bootloader (make sure you do it in this order, I had my phone refuse to boot twice when I unlocked the bootloader after installing 11.2.10.10), then when the phone has booted back up, install 11.2.10.10 OTA for global (it's in the pinned update post), then you're ready for custom ROMs.
