Love is such a strong emotion, I really really like this phone.
In full love for the new flagship. OnePlus 6T is finally in my hands. Just simply amazing. The design, especially the new tear-drop notch and the slight curvature at the back is wonderful. Feels solid in hand, though slippery. Now it's my responsibility to protect it. Will have to treat it with kids glove..

Enjoying it very much. I came from a pixel xl 2 and the few things i missed are slowly fading.
Camera is good enough. I'm not taking award winning photos anyway but this camera gets the job done.
Full quality photos upload. I still have my pixel and the only photos i care to keep at full quality are from my dedicated camera so i can just transfer to the pixel and upload. Same goes for the OnePlus. The 4k 60fps seems to upload at full quality without a hit on my space if i transfer from my OnePlus to my pixel.
The squeeze for Google Assistant. I used this a lot when my phone was off. I was missing it but then remembered OnePlus has off screen gestures. I just customized one for Google Assistant. Problem solved.
Really like the gestures navigation and the extra screen real estate it provides along with the subtle notch. It's not too intrusive and it's hidden the PROPER way.
Pixel 2 feels better in hand and is lighter which is better for one handed prolonged use. Plus the back is not a smudge King like one OnePlus.
Need better accessories for this phone. Cases are sorely lacking. I don't see myself switching back to the pixel anytime soon.
8gb RAM is legit!! Reduced app loading nice

Why did I not think of this!! THANK YOU!!
Coming from an everyday driver Note 8, so far so good. Really like the feel of the phone in the hand and the speed it has. Another is the built in dark mode and ability to change the text color without root or substratum. One there's an official twrp I will be rooting basically for adaway. Also liking getting away from touchwiz.
True love
I have concern with loudspeaker. It seems to be too much towards high tones. There is no balance between high tones and "bass". I'm no sound specialist but I hope you know what I mean.

Love that built-in dark mode as well, and the text color change.
Was still on a Note5 and the trade in for T-Mo was too good to ignore. Love the phone so far, and nice that I don't have to use other apps to overcome TouchWiz, although it was never really that obtrusive on my Note5 anyway.
Just wish they allowed you to auto rotate the home screen with the stock launcher, and also I forgot what a PITA Google can be with making you do things their way - I would really love to have the ringtone and notification alerts separated again so that I can change the volume independently without using a separate app. I forgot Google combined them a while back. They used to have a checkbox that you could select to combine the volume functions ONLY IF YOU WANTED.
Otherwise, I don't miss wireless charging as much as I thought I might, but only because this really is an all-day+ battery phone.
Been waiting along time for a US carrier to pick up OnePlus. It's everything I thought it would be and more.

I'm the same way. Had 2 invites to buy the first OnePlus device, but I was Verizon (unlimited data). I've had a OnePlus shirt for years. I do miss always on display a lot. I really don't want to root because it's a hassle to keep up with.

You know that you can enable Google Assistant to trigger with a long press on power button, don't you?
You can't do that on the TMobile variant right? Even so, I'd like to keep from overusing the power button. Plus the gesture is much cooler. [emoji16]

My first OnePlus Phone and I LOVE IT!
To echo much of the sentiment here. This is my first 1+ device. This thing is Incredible. Anyone who is hesitating, don't. This device runs way better than my P2XL ever did.
Feeling in hand, performance, battery life, screen. Overall is a WIN WIN!
can someone tell me about sound quality of this phone in speaker and headphone?

Yes, the OnePlus 6T comes with a very good case. Some Smartphone manufactures, like Xiaomi sends cases by default. But the cases are crap.
The case is so good that I will not buy another, maybe just an original case.

The build quality is pretty astounding. I picked up my Pixel XL and kind of felt bad for it.
It's not as snappy as the Pixel.
The hardware buttons take some getting used to.
Haven't messed with the camera yet.
Textra isn't working properly and I'm not sure why. The send button doesn't do anything. I had to enable "use enter key to send"

I agree about the Pixel being snappier. I have the smaller pixel and it's for sure snappier and more fluid. I love this device though.. It's beautiful. I haven't messed with the camera much either yet.

My first impression was actually pretty bad. The rest of my post actually belongs in the build quality thread so Ill put it there.
The design is very nice! Everything else like software pretty bad.

As far as snappyness, is it something like the transitions being slow or something else?
To make it more snappy, go into developer options and set the transition speed to .5 instead of 1. That should make things seem to zip.

animations to .5 is what I do on every device I own as one of the first things out of the box. It's for sure nowhere near as fluid as the pixel. It does open apps up quicker in some cases, but scrolling through lists, webpages, the feed in Google now is not as smooth as it is on the Pixel
Feels so good in the hand, update was waiting when I tried to set up. Have to see if it's not snappy as others have mentioned and I too have used pretty much every flagship so will immediately know if this thing lags or hiccups are there. Will update in few hours.

Interesting, but not surprising. The Pixel has proven again and again that it is a finely polished machine software wise. The kicker for me keeping this device or returning/selling it will be the Pixel 2 XL. Nothing else really blips my radar otherwise. OEM theming from the likes of LG/Samsung writes them off since they also are always locked down as all heck. After using a Nexus I am hoping the Essential can gain some form of similar following, but if not, Pixel 2 may be the only option... We shall see...

If the XL 2 is smaller footprint wise than the current XL then I'll most likely get that. I like smaller phones. I would have loved a smaller Pixel 2 with no bezels. I'm kinda pissed at Google for not making two exactly the same devices like they did for the first gen (with exception of screen size/resolution and battery) this time around. If I want the smaller pixel, I'm gonna a have to deal with the bezels again. Lol last year I ordered both the xl and smaller one. Returned the smaller one and kept the XL then switched to the smaller one and freaking love it. I have Google sending me a replacement (figured I'd get more to sell a refurbished device than an almost year old device) and now I'm not sure I want to sell it. I might just hold on to it until the 2 drops.
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
My only gripe I can see from the leaks is if LG really is making the XL, well then we have LG's shoddy build quality to worry about.
Luckily it looks like the V30 isn't as bad as the G6/G5,etc and hopefully we may possibly be past the bootloop issue of the past 2 years from them? (Knock on wood).
HTC may not have the bezzle sizes figured out, but their build quality has been pretty reliable working with metal for a long time now. LG is still new to that gig.
I wouldn't trust LG at all. The V30 looks nice, and I have seen V20s out in the wild, but after dealing with the G5 and past devices I wouldn't trust them at ALL.
Not sure what you guys are talking about. This is much faster than the gaalxy s8 I turned off and it the same speed if not slightly better than the pixel.
Not sure if it's because I have been using a friend's S8 during the time I was waiting for my Essential Phone to show up or what, but the Essential phone looks really nice but the sharp edges make it feel like a much larger phone than it really is.
Oh and the camera lag...
It is a bit upsetting with all the anticipation while waiting and I am already considering returning it.

Guess I should clarify. It's almost as if the screen sensitivity is not calibrated right. When I try to scroll very slow it is not smooth at all. Doing stuff like fast scrolling is fine but slow movements not so much.

Coming from a 6p and 5x I like this phone. NIce feel in the hand, it's substantial . Fits in my 5x case but of course the buttons are rong lol.
I am going to have to play with display as it doesn't turn on quickly when I pick it up, sure its just a setting.
Edit: nope, still wont turn on when I pick up the ph. Still does not register touches around the edge for menus and such, that kinda annoying.
All my apps set up much quicker than I remember from the other 2 devices and it will take me a few hours to get it setup the way I like it ( root plz )
The cut out for front cam will take some getting used to.
Edit: used to it
God stock android is just yech, I can hardly wait till substratum is rootless or we get root.
Sound wise I'll listen to it at work tomorrow and see how the adapter works with my sennies but I already had a Tron BT adapter that I really like.
Edit: sounds great with adapter or BT. Adapter lets the sennies use its inline controls for vol, skip.
I am less fussy than most ppl and I needed a phone, couldn't wait for big G to get off their butts so this.
I hope Essential gets out updates in a timely fashion, if that doesn't happen THEN it gets the axe.
Edit:
Still not sure what i'll do, its a really nice phone. IF Essential steps up and TELLS us something, i'll be much happier.
Cables: PH1 is REALLY fussy about what cable you use, what worked for my 6P might for PH1, only google cable worked when using fastboot.
Android Auto sometimes connects and likely disconnects no matter what cable .
Fingerprint reader is hella fast ! BUT now I can't get into smart security tab? grrr

Hello everyone
I found myself in this situation, so, I can now purchase global NEX S locally in one of the retailers for roughly $600, brand new, but I have some doubts about the purchase since phone is more than 6 month old, still no Pie for it and basically zero 3rd party development due to lack of source from Vivo.
I really, REALLY like the design though. Notch is a deal-breaker for me and I'm a huge fan of that full screen and in-display fingerprint reader.
I own Galaxy S8 currently and must say, S10 looks same to me. Also, hole in the display is equivalent of notch imo, so, that's a no-no.
All that said, I have few questions.
1. Does this phone (global version) have notification light (notification LED)?
2. How's the ardio coming from 3.5mm jack?
3. What do you love / hate about the phone?
4. Would you recommend it to your friend?
5. Feel free to add your own opinions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Love everything except funtouch launcher but i replace by nova launcher...no notification led but just install NO LED and work very very well....battery with full usage stai easy 2 day....screen is very amazing color...no notch..no waterdrop screen , fulll screen...s10+ with 2 hole in screen (very ugly)
dont hesitate
only thing is functouch...you need take 1-2 hrs to knoww all about functouch
S10 design really disappointed me but I'm sure many people will buy it.
Still, thanks for your reply, there's still no root access available for the NEX, right? What a gorgeous phone anyway

I have had my Nex S for around 1 week now and here are my views & opinions to help you along the way.
1) Display is Fantastic (ok it's not QHD) but really that does not matter it vibriant and clear and most of all it's ALL Display and that I very much appreciate.
2)Battery life (although Funtouch doesn't show SOT, yes I or you could use GSM or similar, but all I can say is that I play alot of PubG and browse and use message and like now, took off charge at 8am it's now 11pm and I have 28% left, it's well fantastic.
3)I have the international version and it's great no Chinese bs, and notifications come through just fine, if you install Nova or Pixel launcher your all golden.
4)Don't listen to reviews the UD scanner works well and I'd say 98% success rate for me or very close to, opens as fast as I need it to.
5)Camera's are nice to, ok perhaps not pixel, but I like the quality you get from them.
6)Design is nice to and comes with a nice case (not a cheap feeling one) it's quite decent.
Overall yeah I would recommend the Nex S, no there isn't root but I don't actually mind, I have other phones that I can mess around with...
Hope this helps, it's a very nice device ......:good:
No root but with ADB its very easy to remove all bloatware...but with 8gb ram...no need more ram

I agree with all the previous comments. I highly recommend this phone. It's phenomenal in terms of performance, looks and superb battery life. Just change the launcher.
Huge thanks to all of you, will post uptades and my impressions if I get it
I'm thinking to get one nex s....
Totally agge with above posts by other users I'm having the Chinese version 6 months now and most of the case totally satisfied.
The only thing missing from the device is 3 things.
1.No unlimited app notification on AOD(very bad Vivo policy-most OEM offer that choice with AOD)
2.You can not customize off screen gesture like for example Oxygen offer with Oneplus and use whatever app want.
3.Not having unlimited accent color customization and not having dark/black themes out of box like Oxygen offer.
With nova launcher +sesame shortcut app+ HD widget you could get SOT detail info.
Just like my few minutes ego results after 2.5 days.

I was at the launch in NY and picked up a 7 Pro 12/256GB.
Guys this phone is sick fast, I'm not sure how they could make it any faster.
When I first heard about the phone having a pop-up camera I was worried because I use face unlock all the time. Face unlock is just as fast as before even with the camera having to raise up.
As for the camera I'm not a professional photographer just an average user and I can tell you the camera is fine. All the photos I took camera out good for me. For comparison I thought the camera on the 6t also was fine.
24hrs in and I have to say the phone is awesome. It might be the best phone I have ever used.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Edit...more thoughts
One of the things that really stand out to me is the haptic feedback when typing. It feel amazing! It almost feels like your pushing down on a keyboard buttons when typing.
I'm not sure about the battery...seems like that might be the weakest point but we will see after a few days onces things settle in.

Yeah mine is still on my account as well so I shall be good to go as well!
Got mine today from Miami and I'm loving it. Agree with the OP. Just as an aside it comes with a decent enough clear silicone (tpu?) case in the box. Nice touch by OnePlus.
Can I please get this very important question answered. AOD? And does the notification light edge work with all notifications? 2 main factors that might help or stop me from buying the phone. I've already ordered 2 cases from Amazon even though I can't get phone until Monday. TIA for all feedback. I've searched 30mins of YT reviews and none actually talk about notifications oddly enough
I played with it today as well, I think it's kinda klunky but still nice. .
Would one of you guys be so kind to do a full DD dump of this phone when u get it? Me and some others would like to port some stuff to fajita and enchilada..if interested, let me know I can send a script to make it easier and this will make rooting pretty much a given and be done right after we get this.
By the way...what's the nickname?

No thanks. If you misplaced it that's the end. It also looks like it has curved glass. Another no thanks.
I'm beginning to really appreciate my Nex S more and more as new phones are being released. The OpO 7pro is admittedly an upgrade but nothing that tempts me to change. The Zenfone 6 is nice too but early battery numbers indicate the Nex matches the longevity despite that extra 1000mah and a 7nm soc. If this is the Nex S2 then I'm quite happy sticking with my old reliable one for now.
I agree. Curved glass should be against the law. It serves no purpose other than - what?
No reason to leave the Vivo Nex S until Android R is out (he will get Android Q), so we have 1 more year .
I would be maybe ready to upgrade only if i can get one with 5G, Wifi 6 (802.11.AX) and 5'000MAH battery but really no reason to change, the NEX is solid and still really fast.
I'm not leaving my NEX S until there's a device which blows this phone out of the water , specs wise I'm looking for 12gb ram, 6-7 inch super amoled or 4k screen, 90 herz refresh would be nice, under display or pop up camera, 4500 - 5000mah battery, latest prosseser stockish android, not bothered about a headphone Jack, I use Bluetooth, under display finger print reader optional, I was tempted too get the one plus 7 pro but I'm holding out for something that really floats my boat, I'm really happy with this phone at the moment so I'll hold on, Ive just got that itch too buy a new device, maybe the note 10 pro, but that camera hole in the screen is putting me off big-time

With Vivo it's impossible getting stock or near stock Android experience.
Neither Note 10 offers near stock Android experience but agree that would be top of the line smartphone.
As with Vivo will shall see what going to release or not.
There's uncertainty if gone be successor of Nex S or not.

I agree it was 2-3 year ego but not any more.
With Android Q Google has addressed many issues and missing features that some OEM offering.

OEM skins are still and will remain ahead of stock. There are plenty of useful features that stock still doesn't have. For example, I just started using Easy Touch on my NexS and set it to pull down the notification shade instead of reaching or using two hands. It's transformed the phone for me.

Yes OEM still have the advantages over features and functionality but stock android has closed the gap.
Still prefer some OEM skin over stock but wouldn't consider any more deal breaker having device with stock or near stock android.

Not necessarily a deal breaker but I'll take an OEM skin 9 times out of 10.

To be honest I would consider Pixel device as my number one priority if had full screen experience without any stupid notch or punch holes and being 300-350 bucks cheaper that what costs. [emoji14]
Until then I'm dealing with Oneplus or Vivo as I'm aware of the software and how to manage it to meet my needs as better could be.
Sammy or Huawei as much as tried always something bothered me and couldn't deal with it as everyday long-term living with them.

I'm not a fan of Pixel devices. Ugly design, software bugs, average battery life and no dual-sim. Right now my sot is 4hrs 26mins with 63% remaining. This phone is amazing.
But has superior camera performance, ip68 water resistant, stereo speakers, instant updates.
Yes they're ugly as hell that's why I wouldn't consider yet as alternative +they're costs more than my budget.
So every users at the end choice whatever meets their needs.
Nobody perfect.

Smartphone from different brands have different positives and negatives, and choosing one almost always leads to some compromises for everyone.
I have compared the software features by OEM here.
I have mentioned some specialities of phones by brand here.
There is a post on why stock Android is overrated and why Pixel phones are a bad deal for their price.
All that said, if budget isn't a constraint and you have to use only one phone, which phone would you buy today and why?
As of today, I'll stick with the Samsung Galaxy Ultra.
One hand experience + is a Goodlock module from Samsung that makes gesture navigation and app launches a breeze. I haven't found an equivalent 3rd party app that provides the same experience on other brands.
Here are some big positives about Samsung phones:
1. Best camera system
2. Secure Folder
3. Plenty of useful features like scrolling screenshots, screen recording with support for front camera, separate app sound, etc.
4. S-Pen
5. Goodlock modules for ease of use and customizations.
6. Built-in dialer with silent call recording support
7. Fast software updates
Here are some things that I wish they implement:
1. Built-in Firewall
2. AppLock
3. Multiple Users
4. Superfast charging
5. Improved cooling systems for better gaming experience
Because it's yellow.

I find stock Android too basic. And the so-called clean software does not translate to better performance or battery life. So what is the point?
If you haven't used other brands, you're likely missing out on many useful features.

That's perfectly fine. Whatever works for you.
None. I really detest notches and punch hole cutouts.
The trend for all screen phones has passed by now, unfortunately.
Only options today for an all screen phone are gaming phones, which are too tacky in design, or China only phones with an under display camera.

Everyone needs a phone today. No phone is perfect. We choose one that fits into our requirements the best.
In this hypothetical case, budget isn't a constraint. So the only consideration is the overall experience of using the phone.

For me having a hole or notch completely kills the experience, so I'll stick to my Poco F2 Pro, with its pop-up front camera, for as long as possible.
If you'd have asked a couple of years back, I'd have opted for the Asus Zenfone 8 flip, and if Asus had continued with the flip camera design that would be my answer now.

I use face unlock as my primary unlock method, so a phone with a popup camera or a rotating rear camera would be too slow for me. I never liked the notch, but the punch hole is small enough to not bother me. Everyone gets used to it.
But to each his own.
Google Pixel 7 Pro would be a great upgrade for me from Pixel 6a as I love the Stock Android that Pixel devices have, their cameras are on another level especially with the Gcam and getting latest software updates! Battery Life is also absolutely amazing on Pixel 6a and I'm sure its even better on the Pixel 7 Pro!
Moreover, I love the design on Pixel 7 Pro!
