RAV4 Factory Settings - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hey guys,
So I got my device not too long ago and of course, I got excited and wanted to update it, ended up messing it up, then finally coming around to fixing the update. Now I have a problem with all the default settings, but mainly my blue tooth functionality. Everything works except for when someone calls me, I don't hear a thing on the device, nor do they hear me at all, I would have to switch to my phone speakers to just hear them or for them to hear me.
I have gone through majority of the settings in the Factory Settings, but I cannot find a solution. If anyone has happen to have the Toyota Rav4 and this device, maybe if you could help me with listing the factory settings? Or if anyone else can help me, that would be awesome.

Microphone not working correctly XPERIA Z5?

Hello everyone, two days ago, when trying to send a WhatsApp audio, I discovered that the person I sent the audio to could not hear it, and neither could I. I tried several times and I ended up calling that person. The other person could hear me just fine, so I thought it was WhatsApp error, still, I went into Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Test > Microphone. The microphone did not work, and it recorded kind a sound that was very similar to the one that TVs make when they can't connect to a channel, when you see the black and white flashing screen and you hear that annoying sound. I restarted it, tried sending a few audios to my sister and it worked fine. I tested it again and it worked. Today I sent another audio and again, the mic did not record anything, and when I played it, it sounded the same. Restarted it again, did the test five times, the first two it worked, and the other three it didn't. I'm pretty sure it's a software problem but I want to know if I can fix this anyway before the 7.0 release, in which I hope this will be fixed, along with the other problems I'm having with my Z5, like some headphones won't work and I have to use the app SoundAbout to force the sound to play through the heaphones and the flashlight problem, where it hides the icon that is used to toggle it in Quick Settings. I changed my iPhone 6 for the XPERIA Z5 since I was an Android user before and the iPhone just wasn't for me. I got the Z5 because I thought it was the best combination between pure stock android and good pre-installed Sony apps. I'm really having a hard time with this phone and I'm planning on going back to iPhone. I don't want to, but I will if I can't get these problems fixed.
Please help
Iv got the same problem on my z5 compact. Googling the issue has led me to believe it's a software issue. The problem is apparently solved by disabling Google voice feature from "any screen" but that option is already disabled for me.
Does anyone have a fix for this issue, please.

Bought a first Android phone, not working as hoped - pointer for working it out?

I just bought my first ever Android phone, Acer Liquid Zest Plus.
It's not quite working in the limited ways I was hoping it to work.
First, I drive a Honda, which has handsfreelink system for connecting the phone to the car. The phone connects to handsfreelink ok, but then shows some weird behavior, in that when using the car's controls to place a call through handsfreelink, handsfreelink immediately apparently hangs up the call (i.e. the car's display shows that it hung up the call). However, this does not actually hang up the call on the phone itself, as the call gets placed nonetheless and when someone picks up on the other side, I can have a conversation through the car's audio system. Seems to almost work, but the weird behavior just described means that I can't hang up a call without pulling the phone out of my pocket and hanging it up from the phone (as opposed to hanging up using the car's controls) while driving, which takes a lot away from the point of it all.
What could be the issue with this? Note that I had a Blackberry Passport before, which used to work all as intended with handsfreelink, and my family member's iPhone 7 Plus also works as intended with handsfreelink. Is it that my Acer Liquid Zest Plus does not have the necessary bluetooth profile/stack to works with Honda's handsfreelink? Is it that handsfreelink proprietary to Honda and uses something unique, as opposed to being a generic bluetooth device of the kind? Is a bluetooth device link this, used by other auto manufacturers, feature the same generic bluetooth thing, or is this something only Holda can possibly answer for me?
Could updating the phone solve this issue? If so, how? I go into Settings -> About phone -> System updates and it tells me that my device is up to date (I did not update it since pulling it out of the box). I notice that it's on Android 6.0 , and a quick Google search showed some discussions that it is highly unlikely that the phone will get newer Android update. The "Android security patch level" shown in "About phone" says December 5, 2016. That's a long time without a security patch. Should I, and is it possible to, update the phone?
I've heard of rooting an Android device and installing custom Roms before. Where can I find a guide for my device and the custom Rom files? I am hoping this might solve my issue with handsfreelink.
I know I am all around the place with my questions, but essentially, the issue I am having is that bluetooth connection to my car's audio system does not work as expected, and I am wondering how I might fix it. I am wondering if an OS update (either official version by manufacturer or a widely-used custom Rom) might solve this issue, or simply adding an extra bluetooth profile to the phone.
A solution would be awesome, but I'd be asking too much if I was hoping for that. Instead, if anyone can just provide me some pointers in terms of how to do research on what I should be doing to solve this, or clarify some concepts (to the extent you can tell I got it wrong from reading this post) for me, it would be really appreciated.
I've already been to Honda's handsfreelink website and Acer's support page for this product and there's nothing helpful there.
Thank you very much.

Popping/crackling sound when playing media

Dear all!
Quick question for you guys.
I had my Galaxy S7 for nearly 2 years but only recently (past few weeks) it started making a very annoying popping/crackling sound when playing any sorts of media content both streamed or download. I did some research about this and unfortunately I haven't been able to find an answer. Some people mentioned an ARC app or Skype to be the culprit. Some others even say that it's the WiFi during standby that creates the problem. I honestly tried everything including factory reset, whole system reinstallation, safe mode etc but nothing works, the annoying popping sound still happens whenever I watch or listen to something and it can be heard from the speaker and wired earphones.
Anybody who's got any knowledge or has experienced the same problem could you please share your views/experiences as this is driving me mad?
Thank you in advance!
PS it doesn't seem to happen during phone calls...yet! At the moment running latest PHN firmware. All stock. Model G930F
i had same problem but only in android 6.x, on nougat all is fine
same probleme here i have stock nougat rom
Thanks for your feedback guys...I'm assuming it's the firmware's problem. I guess I'll wait for Oreo and see whether it gets fixed

SM-J710MN Bluetooth Snafu

I have a 2016 Chevy Trax. No issues whatsoever pairing the Bluetooth with my J7. Listen to music from the phone, take calls, messages get notified through car speaker etc.
Then I noticed about a week ago...the phone connection stopped working. I discovered it was not only my car, but Bluetooth headset too.
I can pair my phone. Music will play. If I get a message I can hear it. If I have Google Maps on I can hear the voice.
However, if the phone rings, I can not hear it. If someone is on the other end. They say they can hear me. I hear nothing.
If I press "Speaker" on my phone, I can hear the person through the phone and they can hear me. However as soon as I turn the Bluetooth back on...I lose them. In my car it says going to Private Mode....and I can hear through the phone. But as soon as I reconnect to the Bluetooth....I hear nothing.
I have tried everything...to no avail. Took out the battery for soft reset. Found all the Bluetooth apps in the "system apps" setting. Deleted all the caches. Disabled "Ok Google". Only thing I have not done is a factory reset. Last resort.
My wife has the exact same phone. Hers acts the same. Leads me to believe it is from the last update which happened a week or so ago.
I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help!
Mike
I am having the exact same issue. Appears the call sound and mic aren't working. This update was to Samsung Experience 9.5
Same here. Bluetooth calls in my car stop working after last android update. No sound on call from both sides.
I'd tryed some suggestions from post on the web but nothing seems to work.
Waiting for a solutions from Google or Samsung.

VW Bluetooth issues...

So I've recently "upgraded" my car from a Opel Zafira 2009 to a 2015 Volkswagen Golf 7 Variant(stationwagon).
In the VW there's an infotainment system, not a NAVI but still classified as MIB 1 I've figured out.
I've done a ton of searching and it seems to still be an issue with certain cars infotainment systems, I have no issues what so ever connecting my Lenovo tablet to the car and playing Spotify through that. But since there's no phone feature it's kind of not what I'm after.
I've contemplated just getting a used *insert random other brand here* and just use that until the issue is solved, but since I've done quite a bit of reading on this I see that this has been an issue since late Android 10 versions of Oxygen OS and still persists on 11...
Has anyone here found a workaround for this? Is the issue still ongoing if I use a custom rom and most important, is there a stock camera to flash on custom roms?
Needless to say, it's annoying as heck and yes I've actually done every bit of troubleshooting there is. I even reset the infotainment, removed power from it and put it back... The whole shabang so to say...
It's a bug with OnePlus and no matter what settings I use in "developer alternatives" it still keeps randomly disconnecting, sometimes after a few seconds and sometimes it's a minute and a half.
Things I've tried:
- Removed the pairing on both devices
- Removed fuses related to infotainment on car, waited 2 min and tried again
- Unplugged the infotainment from the glove compartment, waited 2 min and connected it again
- Deleted data/cache on the bluetooth app within android
- Tested another device(Lenovo tab) that worked fine.
- Hard reboot of the infotainment(10 sec power button hold)
- Rebooted the phone(obviously)
- Reset system settings on the infotainment
- Asked a VW dealer, they had no idea and wanted me to bring in the car
- Searched numerous VW forums for any updates(has to be done by a dealership I've figured and since it's working with another unit not relevant).
- Every bluetooth setting combination related to bluetooth in developer settings.
- Probably alot more, but it's been a few days now.
Note to self, the Lenovo tab is actually running android 8, so I might have to get a Android 11 device to test with as well.
This is the only community I trust when it comes to custom roms and that kind of stuff tbh, so if anyone has experienced anything similar or found a workaround, feel free to post...
Thanks in advance for any reply. If you experience this as well feel free to says so, maybe it can all be submitted to OnePlus(not that I think they would care) or something...
I've attached a video displaying the issue as well.
