Hi
I was running 5.1 stock and rooted with supersu.
I've manually flashed 5.1.1 and that seems to have gone well..the phone is up and working.
I downloaded SuperSU 2.46 and flashed it via TWRP, phone rebooted and I had a superSU icon.
When I click on it I got an error saying no binaries are installed.
So I booted to TWRP and flashed it again, then when exiting TWRP I was asked if I want to install SuperSU so I said yes.
Phone rebooted and now I have a superSU installer icon. I've run that and selected TWRP.
It downloaded a file, rebooted to recovery, flashed and restarted the phone.
The phone is backup but not rooted. I still have a superSU installer icon..
How do I root this phone ?
Thanks
Hello all,
The phone was previously rooted, I just wanted to retry to get rid of the optimizing app problem. With that said, the phone is rooted, and I previously had USB debugging enabled. I reset to factory using the Android Recovery, so does this mean USB debugging was not enabled after resetting?
These were my steps:
Install and run KingRoot
Purchase Super-Sume Pro ($4) to replace KingRoot with SuperSu
On reboot it got stuck in boot loop. I have tried Android System Recovery (lmy47v) but my options are only
Code:
>reboot system now
>wipe data/factory reset
>wipe cache partition
>reboot to bootloader
>power down
>view recovery logs
I have tried all of these options several times.
I have installed ADB on windows as well as the Kyocera drivers here: kyoceramobile.com/support/drivers
I have not been successful in getting access to the phone with ADB.
I have tried to get the phone into fastboot mode by combinations of key presses, but I have not been successful. Does this phone have fastboot? Here are the recovery logs: imgur.com/a/Sn9zD
What is left? I really like this phone and use it as a waterproof GPS and would have to have made a paperweight out of it. Please help!
Hey all, looking for some general Android wisdom on how to get my phone to a state where the computer can detect it as a USB device so that I can use ADB or some other method. What are my options?

Hi..my XD bootloop too..BTW how to get in Android System Recovery?
Did you ever fix your phone?
I saw that the post just stops with you needing help
I wanted to root my device, 930F with Oreo installed. I flashed TWRP 3.2.3 with Odin, and had Magisk at my internal storage root directory.
When I restarted the device TWRP was gone, so I flashed it again with Odin and starting TWRP it asked if it could make modifications to be permanent, I allowed the modifications. When I tried installing Magisk, I couldn't find it as my whole internal storage didn't show anything (encryption maybe?)
And then I tried restarting without having done the root but now it just boot loops at the Galaxy logo.
What should I do?
Update:
I copied Magisk to my micro SD and was able to install it with TWRP. After restarting the phone did pass the part where it was boot looping, but it stops at:
----------
"Verification Failed
Unable to restart your device. the integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data."
----------
This is the dm-verity that I have read about? Is there a way to not need a factory reset?
I've seen this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/to-magisk-data-encryption-s7-t3667007
Tried flashing with TWRP the TIMA tweak and verity disabler, but still had the same error.
Anyone have any ideas or should I just clean install the stock firmware back?
1st is i have rooted my phone with Magisk... everything works well after that
but when I tried to install Xposed Framework, it only bootloops.
by the way im on 8.0.0 (Oreo) 41.3.a.2.192
SUMMARY:
what i installed that causes the firstboot loop was this (systemless Xposed):
https://magiskroot.net/install-system-less-xposed-framework-oreo-8/ (the sdk 26)
then when it boot loops, itried to install the regular Xposed (not the systemless):
https://magiskroot.net/download-xposed-framework-for-oreo/ (the sdk 26)
but still bootloops.
the i used the Xposed uninstaller:
http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/uninstaller/xposed-uninstaller-20180117-arm64.zip
still bootloops.
then i searched the net for possible solution:
I restored the boot partition on TWRP... then I used the "uninmod_magisk-v4.zip" on TWRP...
The phone boots... But the root is already lost...
i tried to Install Magisk again. Then it bootloops again.
then i tried to restore the boot partition & install the "uninmod_magisk-v4.zip"--- boots again but no root...
it looks like i need to delete the Xposed Framework files because it looks like its the one having in conflict with the root/magisk.
how do i properly delete Xposed Framework?
i have TWRP back up... before... restored it (except Data partition)...
but still the problem persist...
Bootloop when rooted; No bootloob when not rooted
Hello
My phone has been rooted for a while now (without TWRP as it wasn't available yet back when I rooted it), but magisk suddenly got issues once I've tried to update my phone.
I downloaded the update KB2003_11_C.33 as soon as it was available on the Oxyen updater app, then i've proceeded to follow the usual steps to preserve root during the OTA update:
restored image in the magisk app -> started the update -> installed magisk to inactive slot in the app
I don't know if it had a real impact, but this time I've done the update through the settings of the phone instead of through the "System Update" app.
Once the phone turned off and back on, it was stuck in a bootloop (it rebooted maybe 3-4 times) until I pressed the buttons to access the Recovery mode, then I just booted it again and it somehow worked just fine. There seemed to be no issue until I opened the magisk app and saw the message "The hidden Magisk app cannot continue to work because root was lost. Please restore the original APK" then I've also noticed that my OxygenOS version was KB2003_11_C.21 instead of 33, so the update basically failed.
I'm not sure if it matters, but I've recently installed modules (Advanced Charging Controller, BlockAds and Universal SafetyNet Fix), magisk manager was hidden (I had access to the app through a fake "settings" app) and I also had zygisk, as well as the deny list enabled to pass SafetyNet.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled Magisk manager, patched the boot.img with it (extracted from the ZIP of my current firmware) then flashed it with adb (several attempts), but magisk manager just doesn't detect anything as it keeps displaying "Installed N/A". I also tried to update my phone again to KB2003_11_C.33, which worked fine this time around, but patching the image and flashing it still didn't do anything.
I don't know what to do anymore to root my phone, I thought I didn't need to factory reset since the bootloader is still unlocked, but maybe I have no choice now.
I found the issue myself actually, I had no choice but to install unofficial TWRP to properly uninstall magisk then to reinstall it and root the phone.
