Unless you made a efs backup, you are SOL. only oneplus can help out.

Did you make a backup of modem1 and modem2?

WON'T work. No img we get our hands on will ever fix efs. the efs partition is unique to every android phone. Know two efs is the same.

Ouch ! OnePlus support is your last hope.. I'm sure they can fix it. Don't forget to back your IMEI next time, & store it under your bed & on the cloud.

9 out of 10 people. should do the six P's (Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.)

There are ways of getting it back but it's incredibly tricky with a risk that you'll totally brick the phone which cannot be restored and there is no guarantee that it would even work on this phone.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU DO TO THE PHONE WHEN TRYING TO FIX YOUR IMEI AND YOU TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS.
Try this first.
I found a way, you need to have "EFS PROFESSIONAL" its free! https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ol-updated-09-06-14-efs-professional-t1308546
1. flash combination files.
2. in IMEI option type +#0808# select DM+MODEM+ADB then leave the modem option showing next, then restart phone.
3. open EFS Professional, select Qualcom option, then your phone should show on com ports, then tap connect, Secure OPs, tap send password and the imei should show, right there you can change it or restore it from the original. tap write to phone. disconect and then turn phone off.
4. check imei +#06#

It may work but there is no guarantee at all. Another region's firmware will include another modem version (May affect your signal / reception) and in some cases the partition table is different from the one your phone actually use, which means you can get trouble if you want to flash your region's firmware later. In any case make a backup of the phone's "EFS" partition to be sure your IMEI will not get lost and the phone become unusable.

"EFS" is one of the phones partitions storing somje data. You still can backup it, but thats not very usefull as the partition already got screwed up. With IMEI 0 you should not get any carrier signal // reception.

As long your phone is not usable for getting signal or accepting your simcard you will gain absolutely nothing my performing a EFS backup as there seems notghing on it that can be saved.

I'm really curious about it as your carrier will normally refuse establishing connections to simcard in a device with invalid IMEI but in that case backup your EFS.

Hi,
The link was ment for anyone willing to take a backup of their efs for you. Just to make it easier
I would do it, but i don't have a computer available before new year.
Ok thanks no problem, I did try installing another modem and messed around a bit what then happened was imei unknown and baseband unknown. I reinstalled stock and unikernel and everything came back. Im lost on what to do next

IMEI=0 restore with QPST, provided a QCN is available?

First things first, I'm sorry for opening another thread on this but I feel the other ones weren't headed exactly in the correct direction.
A little background:
I was trying to downgrade my XT1541 to Lollipop since 6.0 was really bad and I got frustrated and used
Code:
fastboot erase all
The result was I erased my IMEI and I haven't been able to connect to a network carrier since. The problem can be solved by re-writing my IMEI but that's the difficult part.
What I gathered so far is I can use QPST, backup QCN, go into HEX and change IMEI there, then restore the QCN back to my device. The problem is I can't locate the IMEI in my QCN since my IMEI is now simply 0.
So in all, could someone make a backup of THEIR QCN and send it to me? I would flash it to my XT1541, locate the IMEI (since now I would know what I'm looking for), then change it back to my own.
Does that sound like something that could work? Can anyone help?
UPDATE1: Noone sent me their QCN however I did try to restore the one I backup up (which still has an IMEI=0). QPST Software Download reports
Received an invalid command from the phone.

I tried using Qualcomm NV Tools (from EFS Professional), which reads all the information correctly, however when attempting to write the following appears
Cannot Write: NV_UE_IMEI_I
Error: NV_ERR_BAD_SECURITY_STATE

So getting another QCN won't help as it seems that I can't write the IMEI (qcn) back to the device...
There are only two possibilities of fixing this... a 50/50 chance that a full factory flash will restore it (don't know how, but it does sometimes). If that doesn't work, then you need to send it to Moto for repair.

Well, unfortunately that leaves option 2... or turn it into a media play and buy a new phone.
Funny how `fastboot erase all` causes such a pain for some and not others... but once your IMEI is gone, there isn't much you can do. Moto kinda screwed the pooch on that one.

"Security Error"/Default IMEI?

Cross-posting this since this forum looks more active than the TMo specific one and I don't think my issue is carrier/exact device specific.
So, my mother-in-law's G920T that she's been using for 1yr+ one day decided it was going to lose it's mind and start giving her the "Security Error, Phone has been flashed with unauthorized software and is locked" message.
She finally gave up and replaced it, so I asked her if I could take it away and try to revive it. The phone had never been flashed/rooted/attempted unlocked and has only been used on T-Mobile.
First thing I did was a factory default through the phone itself (which of course did nothing) - on further digging, I discovered the IMEI had been reset to 350000000000006. I tried re-flashing through SmartSwitch, Odin, backup/restore of EFS (after finally giving in and rooting), etc etc etc.
Nothing I've tried has seemed to help... At this point I'd just like a functioning device that I can hang onto as a spare - I've already tripped the Knox counter so I know Samsung Pay/etc. is useless and I guess I can always flash a 3rd party ROM (I haven't researched what is available, will take recommendations) to get rid of the Security Error (unless fixing the IMEI will get rid of that).
Any suggestions on how I can revive the IMEI on this thing? I'm not going to send it off for repair/pay to fix it, if I can't get it working I'll either keep it as a "dumb" device with no cell service or will throw it in the bin.
For what it's worth, the correct IMEI does show when booting to Download mode and hitting the Home button (serial number/IMEI are correct/match the back cover), my baseband does show a version in "About phone" and I do get a signal strength in the menu bar, I just have a bogus IMEI.
Thanks in advance.
Have tried restoring the nv_data.bak and nv_core.bak ? Wipe efs and reboot, then place and remove the .bak to these two files from your backup back to the EFS folder and reboot again
If the above method doesnt work, wipe the EFS folder and buy a IMEI repair service from imeigurus, or purchase a CERT file and write it down to the phone with a Tech service box

Nice you got it fixed, since you're now rooted you should backup /efs via recovery or with any method.
Just curious, did you wiped the /efs folder before the repair ?
I fixed mine by writing a new CERT file, i got a new imei by consequence.

Did not wipe it before repair, but also got a new IMEI. IMEI Gurus reported there is no way to restore the original IMEI once it's gone.
Unfortunate side effect: I re-flashed with stock after he was done, and I got a verity error... I had to flash TWRP and the no-verity zip file to get the phone to boot up, but works fine now.

Much likely they do wipe it by their own, the Device Root Key is lost since it is on the /efs, just by rooting with supersu or Magisk patches the kernel to disable DM-verity and allows normal booting
The only way to get the DRK back is with a service box.

Help! Wifi and sim card not working after messing around with custom roms

Hello!
Somehow I managed to break my wifi and sim card functionality on my oneplus 7 pro EU
I ve tried some custom roms like PixelExperience and crDroid and today I wanted to go back to stock Oxygen OS
I've used MSM tool and more than 5 versions of stock firmware and the "unbricking" process works fine, but I can't get the wifi and sim card to work
Can anyone help me with this? Maybe it's a deeper reflashing for modem or smth..
Quick update, I've tried to restore from a TWRP backup made with PixelExperience12, no success
I have tried reflashing with MSM tool the original rom EU, Global and China version, different versions of android - 9, 10, 11 - I give up
Since nobody seems to reply here, the only solution I've found is to make a service request on oneplus official website
If someone have the same problem and is searching for a solution, I will keep you updated
