Petition to Xiaomi to Eliminate 720h wait time to unlock BL - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

I've just created a petition in change.org.
We want to be free to access our own devices we bought and be able to root and flash ROM's on all Xiaomi smartphones without any impediment.
We can't tolerate having to wait a month to be able to unlock it. Other companies just let us unlock it with the fastboot oem unlock command without needing any additional software or account.
And then when you got access you can't install an older miui version because of the antirollback feature
The perfect solution would be to get rid of the Mi Unlock tool and give access to the fastboot oem unlock command, or at least remove the wait time too.

Gl with that, others have tried with petition

Really need some help

I have applied to be able to unlock my boot loader time and time again, and i don't think its gonna happen.
Is anyone kind enough to let me use their Mi account if their Mi account can unlock phones bootloaders? I wont take your account or anything. Just need to use it to unlock my bootloader
You can unlock your bootloader without getting official permission.
Sorry I'm too lazy to find out the exact tutorial, but as far as I remember it works like this: Use Mi software on PC to flash an old version of MiUI ROM (that was published before bootloader was locked), then you can flash custom recovery and do whatever you want with it.
It's this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/general/guide-unlocking-mi4c-bl-verification-t3336779

Device bootloader locked but can't boot

I have a chinese Device, loaded with a global rom.
I decided to "fastboot oem lock" the phone, now it won't boot anymore, saying that I can't use the current MIUI version.
I tried unlocking it again, but I have no linked account, and I can't find a way to flash the Chinese ROM as I always get an error, probably due to locked bootloader.
What can I do?
Unlock your device and usei tool with fastboot rom.
I cannot unlock it, it asks me to use an user associated with the device, but I never associated one and now I can't do it.
Your best bet might be to contact Xiaomi directly. BTW, what where you doing since it's unlocked but won't boot?

Trying to unlock bootloader, flash Twrp, and Root with Magisk and need help

I've been trying at this for a couple days now,no success but no brick either Every phone I've owned up to this one I've been able to root and flash recoveries and custom roms as I pleased but this phone been tricky for me so I need someone here maybe to tell me my next move... So I called TMobile and I got the rep to give me a permanent unlock for my phone and I checked the Tmobile unlock app and its says permanently unlocked ...So my question now is since I cant seem to get the adb to "fastboot oem unlock" to change the device state to unlocked in the bootloader without asking me for my unlock code ,how to I get this to work? Is the next step requesting the unlock code from Oneplus because I have all the info for the form for Oneplus but don't know how to find unlock code for the form.... Help me out guys ... Thanks

You now need to convert to Int. version, you can't "fastboot oem unlock" on T-Mo version without a stupid unlock token! Follow these instructions ===> https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/how-to-convert-tmobile-op7-to-t3935947

After this, you need to enable OEM unlock. See here.
Once you have enabled OEM Unlock under developer options, the fastboot oem unlock will work.

General T-Mobile (SM-A326U) unlocking rules/terms.

I like rooting my devices as I like having control over them and what they do. The Galaxy A32 5G is no exception so I was disappointed to see that the OEM Unlocking was not even shown in the Developer menu. I did a little research and basically if you got this phone through the 5g Trade-Up promotion (I suspect most did) then you're stuck on stock until April 19th 2023 or later when these phones get paid off. So unless you pay it of sooner or are in the military being deployed overseas, then you're stuck on stock.

Check again in a week or so. Samsung phones always block displaying the oem unlock option for that long, from what I have read.

There also is a special binary from T-Mobile that needs to be flashed.
I don't think we will ever see it. My A10e still has no OEM unlocking option and its been active for months.
Also as a test OEM unlock does not show up even when the A32 5G is carrier unlocked either
How about some kind of turbo sim? May be some paid services ? Really need to use with another sim... And if I pay it off I will not get credits, right?

I was able to convince T-Mobile to unlock my phone. I can confirm that network unlock does not enable OEM unlock option in Developer Options.

Wait til you get at least 1 bill credit before you pay it off just to make sure the promotional credits are active. But if you do pay off the phone, you'll still receive the promotional recurring device credits as long as that line remains active. Info here if you want to read the details by T-Mobile.

Can anyone get a stock unlocked rom build from their phone that has been unlocked by T-Mobile? Even the bootloader.img? We could all flash it and it might work for us.
For example,
Taking a dump of the bootloader partition such as this:

T-Mobile phones can only be carrier unlocked, which I believe is done via the network and IMEI, not through software/boot loader. T-mobile phones can not be OEM unlocked at this time. I am not sure if a carrier unlocked T-mobile dump would get us any closer to a root, and I don't think a dump is possible via the directions you posted since it requires root.

Dumps actually don't require root AFAIK, you sure? Even then, a T-Mobile unlocked person could easily root boot.img with magisk and then pull it.

The dump instructions you linked require root. Is there an updated guide that does not require root? I'm happy to try.
Could we use the info and resources here https://www.getdroidtips.com/stock-rom-samsung-sm-a326u-firmware/
to create an already rooted stock rom and flash it via odin?

working on this.
Any luck?
If this phone (A326U) can't have the bootloader unlocked it is of almost no use to me. I wonder if I can return it.
It will go to fastboot and can be seen via fastboot devices. Issuing fastboot flashing unlock returns
FAILED (remote: 'unknown command')
fastboot: error: Command failed
I suppose this means existing bootloader does not have these commands in it or the missing OEM locking option is preventing the command from running?
Also I am wondering if there is somewhere to buy one that can have the bootloader (like for Metro PCS or other).
T-Mobile indicates they will bring a phone in to their network that can be unlocked but their policies (as mentioned in other threads) preclude unlocking a T-Mobile sourced device that has not been on their network for 40 days or after the 2 year contract if it is a contract purchased phone. An externally sourced phone can be added to their network and unlocked for SIM and bootloader.

Unlocking Bootloader Honor 6X 2022

Hey I just found my old phone and wanted to install custom roms on it.
After a bit of reading in the internert I have seen that its very hard to unlock huawei bootloaders these days,
I found a tool called DC unlocker but it costs money to get the oem unlock code, so im asking here:
Is there a free to unlock my honors bootloader nowdays, I dont want to pay money for that.
Im also planning to install TWRP on that device and a custom rom.
Thanks
Edit: after a lot more searching i found a video with a guys showing a bruteforec script,
now my only problem is FRP
I'm curious: what tool did you use to unlock the bootloader?
I have an old Honor 6A and I would like to install TWRP and LineageOS..
