Disable HDR+ on front cam. Tested on mine right now and it's working perfectly

You have to uninstall, install again, open the camera, FORCE CLOSE THE CAMERA (important), then reopen de camera. And it's all good.
And I am using the newest one, working better with Stabilization.

Seems like 8.3b version from my last quote is more recent (GCam_5.1.018.177624), just checked right now and this is what is on app version. No need to install/uninstall, it's plug n play !

(considering iDan's version regardless google cam version itself because it just doesn't matter)

I've posted same as you in my first reply but tried to use that in my phone and just crashed. I've done what you said about uninstall/install/stop and didnt worked at all. Now I'm on 3.2.9 and everything is fone, far better than stock but not so nice for front camera because gcam miss dual camera focus/bokeh cam. Actually gcam have this photo mode but we need to swipe up the phone so for front I'll still use samsung cam

The portrait mode isn't working on my A8 2018 with both rear and front camera, it always crash and when i re-open camera app, it say camera cannot connect. Any advice for this ?

in Google camera you can shot in HDR+ mode , results nice pictures

Works on S8+ Exynos, but noise is really bad compared to Samsung camera.

I have tested the app on stock 7.0 rom without root. The camera takes quick snaps, video recording works fine; the stabilisation is good even at 4k ?. Slo-mo and time lapse work. Front camera works, recording also works. HDR works in auto mode, setting it to always on takes the pic but camera crashes or error appears. Pip and bothie do not work but that is obvious. Manual mode works too. Very good app!! Thanks for your work! ??
PS: is portrait mode there in the camera??

Yes, also panorama does not seem to work and don't know what beautify is for? It says 'Action not supported 708. Seems the functions requiring dual camera are not working. Looks like panorama can be fixed later.

We cannot install the mod, because we don't have Snapdragon processor.
BUT there's an official Google cam version that is fully compatible with us, and you've just to download it from there: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...amera-5-1-018-177470874-android-apk-download/ it doesn't need root or unlocked bootloader, it doesn't require anything, just install:highfive:
Don't use newer versions, they won't work.
I'm doing a guide for that, if you need more help

Sadly it doesn't work, because you need camera2 API activated, or a Nexus or a snapdragon phone.
If you've root access, activate camera2 API and it should work:highfive:
Without root, you can still use background defocus and all other features of the camera, because it isn't a port, it is stock application

Hey again, Yup I see all other setting of app works good even picture quality seems to be better versus stock sony camera app + hdr enabled... So my inside voice is telling that I want to see what gcam can do with hdr+ setting on this hardware... But I have no ideas how to root XA1 Plus running on 8.0 android and sys version is 48.1.A.2.21 RUS region one... Any link would be appreciated, but more than that I would like to see hdr+ vs default samples of XA1 or XA1 Plus cuz they seem to have same camera setup :highfive:

Hi
Xperia camera with HDR activated is the best camera if you didn't lose TA partition unlocking bootloader.
I'm not the only who says that, Google it.
However, there's no way to root Xperia without unlocking bootloader, but if you do that and if you find a working TWRP that doesn't brick your device (as happened to me ), you can use Magisk.
Else, wait for Kingroot update, until it will be compatible with our device.

Search for other apps, you can find Microsoft's Photosynth APK on the net. It worked really well when it was on the store, now it's discontinued, but still works well!
Download apkpure app and fing google camera , get my rom and google camera not modded will be worked correct !!

I have noticed i can not get nightscape working with the older 3.4.19 camera either now. very strange. hope they fix that soon i even did a factory wipe.

I have noticed i can not get nightscape working with the older 3.4.19 camera either now. very strange. hope they fix that soon i even did a factory wipe.

good idea but no dice i even factory wiped but the latest arnova8g2 final apk for the gcam port works amazing so until its fixed at least i can still use nightscape.
3.4.24 just dropped on apkmirror.com not sure whos doing these version numbers/can count....but this version works perfectly in nightscape again.

3.4.24 can be installed over stock app without a problem.
If you can't, that likely means the one you have right now doesn't have official OnePlus signature, your version has been tampered with in some way and is unsafe.

All i had to do was uninstalling camera app updates. Ty for help.
