Hi,
I made a mistake I was tired. I wanted to uninstall google play services UPDATE (downgrade) but like a retard I deleted the app instead of the update with titanium backup.
I tried to install a new clean APK with correct dpi etc... but I have google play services has stopped working all the time. all apps who need playservice are not working like google maps. a lot of apps who required location mostly.
I can acces to the playstore but only with a secondary account. main account is not working anymore.
Do I need to install play services differently? Or I'm good to flash a clean firmware with odin?
Thanks.
Try to convert Play Services to a system app and then reboot or if that not works, yes, flash a new firmware.

Are you using a tools for that ?
Or I just copy past the folder ? to /system/app or /system/priv-app ?
thanks for you help
I made a similar mistake trying to install a newer version of play services and got the same behaviour.
Only thing I could do was reflash firmware.

Hi
Stupid me! On my rooted Moto G 1st gen (XT-2032) 4.4.4, I managed to remove the Google Play Services while trying to integrate their update in the Rom via TitaniumBackup. Not the Services are gone, and most of the Google apps will abort immediately with an error.
I have tried something already: I have downloaded Google Play Services 6.1.83 apk (variant 036) and installed it, turned it into a system app, but while Google Keep now launches well, Google Maps or Google Play still immediately abort.
Is there anything I missed? And is there a way to restore the Services correctly without needing to flash a stock firmware on the phone?
Thanks for the help.
if you have unlocked bootloader, try flash the google play services from gapps, there are a package with play services

Yes I the bootloader is unlocked. Can you please elaborate your method?
Not sure it is the same, but I already installed (not flashed!) this file gappsearly.com/google-apps/google-play-services/summary/31-google-play-services/359-google-play-services.html
Is that what you meant?
Thanks
Try flash with cwm this file

Thanks, I tried and seemed to succeed but in fact, the GPServices are now in an awkward state : The only place where they appear now is in Titanium backup, but stroken-through, and I can't uninstall them from them. And the other Gapps report the services as missing.... It seems I will have to reflash all the same
can you delete play services apk from system?
try again and flash the play services, but its a weird problem :/
I need to install APKs, but I don't have a browser or a file explorer on my phone. It's rooted, but hasn't got a custom recovery.
I bought this phone off a private seller, and it's a clone galaxy note 4. It's rooted, but google play doesn't work. It comes up with a gapps error, and every app stays at the 'downloading' stage forever. I don't mind sideloading everything, or sideloading Google play somehow.
I just need a way to install apps. Other suggestions on how to do this are also appreciated.
Try adb.
adb install Name.apk

Hi,
Try to clear cache of Google Play Store, Google Play Services, and Google Services Framework. Remove your Google Account and log in again. If this step didn't work, you can try to download the .apk and install it via ADB.
Hope this helps.

Done all that, but managed to use adb to get chrome on at least. Will try again now, just cause.
Hello everyone,
I have an issue, uninstalled the play store app completely from the system and downloaded the most recent one from an XDA thread. After re-installing it does not work. It says (Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped working). Now I've tried some method like clearing the cache and data from both the play store and google play services. I also did a factory reset using TWRP, everything is back to normal except the play store app which did not installed by itself but I had to re download it fro XDA. How can i fix the app so I can use it again? Could it be that is not working cause is not in the system folder anymore? if so how can I put the app back there? Thank you in advance for any help you may give me. :fingers-crossed:

What I did was reinstall gapps
Flash arm 5.1 and full package, you can uninstall the unwanted apps with rom manager or something

So, this is my first time rooting a phone, and once I managed to get it to work, I started playing around to see what capabilities I had now.
In doing this, I uninstalled the play store. I've tried multiple methods to reinstall it, but none have worked so far.
I've tried installing a new play store apk and used systemize to turn it into a system app, but that didn't work (the app crashed on launch)
I've also tried using link2sd but the app wouldn't let me convert to system app.
If anyone else has any tips for me I'd be grateful.
Using a samsung running android 11 - rooted with magisk, recovery method.
Copy it from another device using ApkExport then transfer the installable copy over to the victim device and install.
I haven't tried it with Playstore but it works on other apks even if the donor device is on a different Android OS version.

sadly the only other device i have is a samsung galaxy S2 that is barely functional. I doubt that'll work.
Before you do anything I'd make sure you have a good backup of your device. Copy text messages, contacts, photos, etc all to external storage.
My first thought was just download install APK, but I see you've done that.
Someone else may have a better suggestion, but, if nothing else works, I'd try installing pico GApps to restore Playstore functionality.
https://opengapps.org/
Pico PackageThis package is designed for users who want the absolute minimum GApps installation available. In this package you will find the core Google System Base, Google Android Shared Library, Google Play Store, Google Calendar Sync, Dialer Framework and the following Play Store applications:

Try it. It will copied system apks and updates.
I copied apks from a S4 running on Kitkat to my Note 10+. If it loads Playstore will need to update, that may be a problem... or not.
APK Export (Backup & Share) - Apps on Google Play
Manage and extract your apps.

Google Play Store app by type is a normal 3rd-party app. Wondering why you want to convert it to a system app?

Yeah it's a system app on my Note 10+, can't be uninstalled*.
Normally it doesn't crash although it's common for it to not connect to Playstore. It does that if Google play Services is disable but even then it doesn't crash.
* I think, it has a disable option but to find out if there's an uninstall I would need to revert to the factory load first... which isn't something I want. It appears to be as I originally stated.

there is no uninstall option. I uninstalled it through other means as my phone is rooted. Now I'm having issues re-installing it and getting it to work.
My last 2 cents here:
Per definition only apps that are needed by Android OS to work are called system apps and are stored in /system/apps. Other apps - called 3rd-party apps like Google Play Store - may be stored in /system/priv-apps.
BTW:
If you manually install Google Play Store APK then it installs to /data/app directory - as expected.
